I had an amazing experience with SunnyMac. My representative Kevin was the best! He was always available and very reliable to help get me through this process. I do not have much time during the day to schedule calls with a lot of people but if I did need to get something scheduled I would text Kevin and he would quickly help me out. The process also didn't feel forced or that I had to say yes to anything. It was a smooth transition from roof, to getting trees cut down, and the panels put up!

Great rate! Beat other companies by a mile

SunnyMac did have an attractive offer, as I was directed to them by using the EnergyPal service. My EnergyPal advisor pushed to have proceed with a Site Survey to continue moving forward, while waiting for Tesla to come out and take a look. During this period, we had five companies out to take a look and give us quotes (none of them with a fee - more on this below). With SunnyMac however, they sent over an agreement for a "deposit," which did not say nonrefundable, which was due for the site survey. I spoke with my EnergyPal advisor, Caleb Siu who told me the deposit was only owed, if I had SunnyMac submit permits on my behalf, so I agreed to the site visit. Well, my advisor was wrong. I am now receiving $1250 invoices from SunnyMac for the site survey and for "designing" my system, although I had to tell them exactly where to put all of the panels (based on other companies visits), as their proposed designs (poor computer generated models) were terrible and would have been terribly inefficient. Anyway, do not have anyone come to your home from SunnyMac unless you are 100% certain you are going to go with them, or they will send you a trumped up bill and threaten collections.

SunnyMac installed our panels in July ‘22 and 8 months later, the job still isn’t done. We’d been so excited to finally install solar panels, but our experience has been a nightmare. First, we failed our electrical inspection because of what seemed like a rookie mistake (they put the electrical box in the wrong place) and it took a month for SunnyMac to fix that problem. Then, after noticing that my electric bills weren’t going down during the peak months of Aug - Oct, I had to repeatedly chase SunnyMac for a reason only to find out that tech who came out to fix the electrical box issue *never turned the breakers back on* so our system— which we were paying for— wasn’t even turned on. That didn’t get resolved until Dec 26, 2022. However, I then noticed that the Enphase monitoring system— which is supposed to show how much energy we’re producing and consuming— didn’t seem to be working correctly. Again, after I repeatedly had to chase SunnyMac for an answer, it turns out that their technicians never fully installed our monitoring system because — at the time they were supposed to do it in July— they didn’t have the right equipment. So, they just didn’t do it and never said a thing to my husband or I about not doing it or needing to come back to complete the job. They just left us high and dry and I guess thought eventually we’d raise it to the company? It’s now March 2023 and after multiple appointments, including one where the tech never showed— the problem still isn’t fixed. I very rarely write reviews, much less negative ones. But I’ve *never* had such a poor customer experience in my life and I’d like to save other folks the wasted time and money that my family has experienced. Really… choose another company.

Started in April its now Oct 23 still not turned on also gave them a referral that system after many delays is up working. they offer a 500.00 gift card for referral but they will not pay up. Beware

Where do I even start? The sales process was easy enough, and I was quoted for a 16.8kw system. Went on my own to compare prices and it was in line with other quotes, so I decided to move forward since the equipment was top notch. Issue 1: Salesperson came back to sign all agreements and I did, without checking all of the fine details (that's my fault). Turns out they are only installing a 15.2kw system, so my price comparisons are no longer valid. If I had been quoted that price at 15.2kw, I would have gone with someone else. Unfortunately I didn't realize this until after the system was installed. Issue 2: I was told by a different company that my electrical panel would need to be upgraded and moved outside to come up to current code standards. When SunnyMac inspected my house, they mentioned it as well. I went ahead and scheduled an electrician to replace it at a cost of $3,000. Worth it to me since the old panel was a fire hazard anyway. Here's the issue, SunnyMac (after my panel was swapped) schedules an installation and part of that includes swapping my panel. Apparently that was included in my cost but nobody told me about it. When I pressed them, they said it wasn't in the line item so they were going to swap it for free anyway (yeah right). They refused to reduce the cost so I basically wasted $3,000. Issue 3: They moved forward with the installation, but my panel had not yet been inspected. I was told that would need to be inspected before they could turn on my panels. Turns out they left them on or turned them on some other time. I started receiving bills from Sunnova, the provider. When I asked about this, they sent someone out to turn them off until they could inspect them. I have already switched to an electric provider with buy back and their consumption rate is higher so I will be paying more out of pocket, along with solar panels that aren't working. This is frustrating. Summary: sneakily changed the quote after I price compared, didn't tell me a new service panel was part of their install so I wasted money doing it with someone else, and turned my panels off after I switched electric providers to a buy back plan which will cost me more money in the long run. I would suggest avoiding them at all costs.

The process was very smooth and professional, from planning with Seth to installation to activation of solar panels. I would highly recommend SunnyMac Solar to anyone looking to install solar panels.

She took the time to give me all of my options and was never pushy. Guided us through the process step by step and made sure we understood how everything worked. Andy from the office keep me updated, never left any questions unanswered and always responded promptly. Tommy and his roofing crew were very detail-oriented. He was meticulous in his installation and didn’t hesitate to answer questions, offer suggestions and keep me informed as to what he was doing as he worked through the inside and outside of the house. Brian the electrician is very well informed and knowledgeable, from the concept, design, and specifications to the installation he was professional and friendly. Amazing craftsmanship and quality that went into this project and everything was done timely and professionally. After getting various quotes from different companies, Sunny Mac had the best prices around and latest premium Solar Panel in the industry. I’ve been raving about Kellys Customer Service. She truly all about her client. That even my best friend end up getting Solar Panels as well. I am extremely happy with the results, it surpassed my expectations, I proudly recommend.

We met with 4 solar companies and Evelyn Lomas was the only one who educated us. The other companies were confusing and pushy. Once we understood how all the programs worked we realized Sunpower By SunnyMac was giving us the best value and actually less panels on our roof. It took approximately 4months from the time we signed up until we had permission to turn the system on. Our System has been On for 3 months. Evelyn updated us throughout the process and came out 2x's after we were turned on to confirm we understood how to read the utility bill, the solar bill, and the monitoring app. We've been so please that we've referred others and they've gone solar with Evelyn also.

We chose SunPower our contact person Evelyn Lomas was very pleasant and explained everything in terms we could understand. The installers were very pleasant and easy to work with. Evelyn came back to check on their progress and to explain to us what they did and the steps moving forward. We live in a 55+ community in NJ. We have referred a few neighbors and they are very happy with their progress. We did have a few issues, one call to Evelyn and she took care of the issues we had. We did have a very good experience with SunPower by SunnyMac.

Finally. My system is now producing 0 KWh after 5 months of owning it. It has been steadily decreasing and there was a serious problem identified by Sunpower. However, these guys have been sitting on a work order from Sunpower for months now and have refused to come out and fix my system. It really is unfair and fraudulent this whole solar power thing. When it works it’s great. When it is clearly malfunctioning, good luck. You’re on your own. Just a sham. Here’s a recap so far: Bought a house in Paramus, NJ in 5.28.19 where Sunpower had a lien on the property for a newly installed solar system lease. The owners died, the estate couldn’t afford it, and I got stuck at closing with the bill. To clear the lien and close title, had to pay over $54,000 to own it and not get wrapped up in a horrible lease when it is time for me to sell my house. After it was all said and done I looked at it as an investment that I would recoup my money within a few years for such a large 32 panel 12 KWH system. Depleted all my sons college money and whatever else I could find just to buy the house thinking Id be find and make my money back. Big mistake. I literally got 2 to 3 months of perfect solar generation and then it started malfunctioning. Trying to get these guys up here is just a joke. I spoke with David who was nice but keeps telling me they’ll put me on the schedule. What are you waiting for? When it starts snowing? I keep hearing how nice Matt the owner is. Well that isn’t accurate either. My system would have been fixed by now if he truly cared about my situation. The only thing I can come up with is that they know something is malfunctioning because it’s 32 panels and as I said, I paid all-cash to own the system and it’s not a priority anymore because it’s not a lease. Just disgusted right now. Only logical thing is to speak with an attorney to try to see if I can recoup under the consumer fraud act in New Jersey. I have been holding back on this last resort thinking they would do the right thing but no luck. This is not the way an American company should be dealing with the public! If you’re considering this company or solar power, I would think twice. Save yourself the money and aggravation and the couple dollars you would save when the thing is working properly or find a more reputable company that will value your business. Just so sick to my stomach that I spent all this money for nothing.

Several solar company quotes obtained before going with Sunpower by Sunnyymac. Stephen Maier guided us from start to finish and is a phenomenal resource and is all about customer service. The entire process was seamless and anytime we had questions, Stephen or Jason were there to help. Never more than a phone call away. The panels are sleek, clean and far more attractive then most panels we see on other homes. The app to moniter our system is informative and I have found we typically use less energy than we produce, which means I am putting money back into my pocket. The system is performing really well, producing 200% power in April. I can already tell we will benefit greatly from these panels! Installation was simple, the staff is great. I would certainly recommend SunPower to anyone.

I'm an older woman and wasn't sure about solar. I have seen many people in my area go solar and I wanted to find out about it too. I was called on the phone and asked if I was interested in finding out about solar and I said yes. The they sent to me was Bill Zanes, who explained everything clearly and answered all my questions. When I told him I needed to think about it, he was not push and just simply said no problem and gave me his card and his number. I called him multiple times with questions and he answered them all. This company is fantastic from the Sales guy all the way to putting the panels on my roof that look great. I would recommend this company to everyone and ask for Bill, you would be let down.

Many solar companies tried to get sign up with their program but my credit score was not allowing it. One company did accept my credit score but I was inexperience to what they were offering. They wanted charge me $36,000 for complete package. Little did I know I was about to get ripped off. Their solar panels were cheap and required both sides of the roof to be installed just to produce the amount I used yearly. I didn't know better so I went with it. My main concern was getting my roof replaced since it was leaking. They didn't offer any program to have my roof looked at or warranty if I need the roof repaired in the future. I had to look for an outside company to have my roof looked at. Until I met Bill Zane, I learned that the previous company I signed up for has been doing shady practices. They do sloppy and overpriced work. Bill was able to show me that there are other products, good quality, than they were offering. The best part was it was at a low price. He was able to sell me a package for $10,000 less than their competitors for top quality, durable panels. What shocked me the most is they have a package to install a new roof before putting up the panels. It would of cost me another $10,000 for the roof but the fact that they offered with warranty gave confidence to cancel my contract with the previous company. Even though my credit wasn't that great, I am grateful the finance team work hard on telling me exactly what I need to do to get approved. Unlike other company it's either you're approved or denied with no support. Over time I've gotten approved. Every department stayed in contact and was generous to keep me inform of every action. The solar panel was up and running. They were generous enough to bump my installation sooner so it can be installed before the end of the year. I was able to collect the tax credit in time. Overall I have no complaint. Much respect to Sunpower.

This was a 100% professional company from the sales guy all the way to the installation. Our sales guy was Bill Zanes who we bombarded with questions and he was patient and answered every one of them. He explained everything clearly and made it easy for us to understand since we had no experience with solar. The install crew was fast, efficient and cleaned up after themselves very well. We have been referring this company and our friends have been very happy with them too.

I chose to go Solar with Sunpower by SunnyMac because when I initially met with my consultant "Wayne" it was accidental as opposed to the normal knock at my door sales pitch. Our discussion was informational, courteous and not at all salesy. When I decided to meet and learn about solar, the first thing that he did was to educate me about my then current electricity usage, cost structure and rate increases. He, after looking at my bill said that even if I did not decide to go solar that I would save because we identified a 3rd party supplier who's rate was variable and significantly higher than my already high utility cost. Having had a previous solar consultation, I quickly noticed that that his focus was not a commission but on my benefit. I was shown what to expect during the pre and post install process and after having been installed I am happy about the appearance of my system compared to that of several neighbors who did not choose a Sunpower black on black system. They also make it easy for me to monitor my system's production online at my computer or on my phone.
