Avoid Summit
I cannot recommend Summit based on my experience. What should have been a routine residential solar installation has stretched to seven months and the system is still not operational. The project has been delayed repeatedly due to mistakes made by Summit and a lack of follow-through. Communication has been one of the biggest issues. Emails and phone calls frequently went unanswered for weeks or even months. I often had to contact National Grid and local inspectors myself to determine the status of the project.

Very unreliable!
I have a signed contract and have been waiting since May to get my panels installed. Summit doesn’t even respond to me anymore when I ask for status on the installation. I just keep getting moved from one person to the next. It’s been one excuse after the other and no one is doing anything to get the panels installed. Don’t use this company!

Unreliable
Started the process in August of 2022. Was told I'd have the roof done in October and panels on in November. Didn't get either until February. They were given the green light to operate in March, but they quickly failed. The system is currently off for electrical safety reasons. I've been trying to get a service team out here for over a month, but my requests have been ignored. They got paid in full for the work, but apparently feel no obligation to live up to the promises they made as far as reliability and quick service. I would avoid using them.

Free water feature with install
Just wanted to warn people of Summit Energy. We installed a $60,000 system solar panel system with them over the summer which flooded our house after it rained. This ended up causing tens of thousands of dollars worth of damage to our home which we are still in the process of repairing. The leak filled our home with water destroying the 1st floor ceiling, upstairs bathroom, insulation, ect. We lived with a tarp over our house for over 2 months while the company kept saying "dont worry we will take care of you". They ended up not being able to fix the problem and I had to have a 3rd party roofer come out and fix the issue. I still haven't seen a single cent from Summit Energy. This is only a fraction of the issues we have had with them over the last 6 months. The damages are extensive and too much to list for the sake of this post Take a look at recent reviews for this company. It seems this is happening to a lot of people.

Worst experience ever
Summit Energy sold me a solar energy system and installation plan that was approved and signed by me, then installed a different design and layout, that included a battery backup system that I did not order and fewer actual solar panels, than was expected. After this, They tried to coerce me into accepting this system by offering it at a so-called discounted price. Then proceeded to present a contract at a considerably increased cost than was quoted to me. Summit Energy ultimately installed a system that they know had been recalled due to faulty parts and as a result, has failed and does not work. The system was turned on November 1st and has been down for almost the entirety of the 2 &1/2 months since then (as of writing this). Also during the installation, they damaged my roof and it now has leaks in multiple places. I have made multiple requests to have these issues addressed. Their response has been to make appointments for technicians to come out and then not show up at all. I have lost days of work by taking time off, just for no one to show up! They don’t even have the common courtesy to call and cancel their appointments.

Worst experience ever. Find another company
We can’t even begin to warn you enough not to use them. They don’t communicate, they don’t follow through to get the project completed. We started this process in Aug 2022 with a salesman named Chad. Most of the information we received from him was grossly incorrect. The timeline he stated for the project was incorrect, the weekly updates we never received. At some point he disappeared and we started dealing with Robert. Still not much better with the communication, but at least things moved at a snail pace. Once we had the approval from eversource it took almost 6 weeks to get the panels installed. That was finally done 12/4. The install team was great, that is the ONLY part of this that has gone well. We were assured that the certificate of completion was sent to eversource so that we could get the net meter installed, that takes an additional 10-20 days. As of this writing eversource has advised that the completion certificate has not been received, so I have panels on my roof that can’t be used….. we have tried numerous times to reach senior management at this company, and the office does not even know who the president is, and you can’t reach any of them. These delays have now cost us over 7000 this year due to them not completing the job we paid for. If anyone is crazy enough to use them…. Good Luck

Avoid this company
Where to begin – lets start with the installation, on August 11th, my panels were installed. The crew was given the wrong plans and started to install the mounting hardware on the front of my house, in addition to the rear, which is the only place they were supposed to go. So we had to have our roof repaired. After that, it took over a month for my "Project Success Leader" and her team to get me a new contract drawn up for the correct number of panels. This was after several points of outreach from me to my "Project Success Leader" asking for the updated contract. As for where my project stands today, it has been over a month since the building inspector signed off on the project and I just found out today that my PTO still has not been submitted to Eversource. This means the 3-4 week waiting period for Eversource to switch out my meter hasn’t started yet. This puts my project timeline going on nearly 8 months, and will push 9+ months before the system is turned on. If I could, I would back out of the contract and have the panels removed. This is what I get for backing out of working with Trinity Solar for our project.

no trust
Everyone who want to work with them for a long term, be aware of their contract before signing. Before signing I confirmed again and again with sale person Chad Raymond that i only have to pay 85.01 monthly fixed rate for 25 years. With that confirmation, i believed that i would make payment same price at no changes within 25 years. However, they charged me for $146.69. When i talk to them about the bills, the agent from solar company told me that they charged base on the production, it mean if the system produce more, i have to pay more and if the production can't produce any kwh, i still have to pay 85.01 minimum. At that point, what does 85.01 dollars represent for? So why at the beginning there was nobody told me about if the system produce more than than the kwh, i have to pay more, nobody mentioned the system will be produce more than 5000kwh and the price would be gone up larger than $85. I contacted to them too many times and there was no resolution for my situation. It ends up like that
Response from Summit Energy Group
Hi Anh, Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We apologies for the confusion with the billing and have had one of our agents attempting to reach out to review how the systems are set up to work with you again and answer any additional questions you may have. In summary, the system you signed up for is a PPA product with one of our partners, Sunnova. With the PPA model, Sunnova has agreed to pay for the solar system at your home with no out of pocket costs for installation from you, and you have agreed to buy the power that it produces (at a rate lower than your local electric utility). Ideally solar systems are designed to offset as much of your home's annual electricity as possible. When designing a system, we are able to estimate the average monthly cost of your electricity from the solar system. However, on a monthly basis if your system produces more electricity than you use (common in summer months), your solar electricity bill will be higher that month, your net meter will spin backwards, and you will build up a credit on your local electric utility bill. This credit will then offset your bill in months when you get less sun on your solar panels (i.e. winter months) and draw more electricity from the grid. We hope this helps clarify more, and would be happy to explain more if you call in to our office, or reach back out to our agent who has attempted to touch base. Best, Summit team

No response. Too big too soon
Put 3 systems on our buildings. We noticed (by comparing) one system wasn’t producing like it should. Figured out that it was down 33% for 17 months. They offered nothing as they “monitor” quarterly. Their response was it was producing so technically it was working. After repeated calls. Found out 15 panels were disconnected. Because we had something to compare it to, WE figured it out. Lost smart credits. Lost energy. Now we are waiting on a solution to 3g dissolution so we can’t monitor one of the systems because of this. We are waiting for them to get back to us. This has been since Feb 2022. They seemed great at first but their lack of response is gross. When we called about who monitors the reception said no one is monitoring right now as they are looking to hire someone. So disappointing. “I’ll make sure someone calls you by the end of the week”. File that with the February email. Wish I could get recourse or maybe someone to actually monitor correctly and return phone calls. Too big too fast. Go elsewhere!
