Steve Whitman Roofing and Solar

Whitman Solar did an incredible job replacing our roof and installing solar panels at our business, Tire Craft of Point Pleasant. Since the system was activated, we've only paid for the delivery fee required by the energy company. Even better, our setup generates enough power to earn income from the excess energy we produce. The installation was smooth, the team was professional, and the financial return has been fantastic. We highly recommend!

Had solar panels removed, roof replaced and solar panels put back on. They did a prompt and excellent job. Office staff communicated very well. Crew was courteous and did a great job with cleanup. Roof looks great!

Tony was a big help in going over everything with us which included the estimate and how the process would work. He was informative and always got back to me in a timely manner when I had questions. He was easy to talk to and professional. Julie was also helpful in setting up the date for our new roof to be put on and communicated very well with everything. The crew installed our new roof this past Monday and it looks wonderful. They started the job early and worked non-stop all day until past dinner time. They even worked with a short rain storm and made sure everything stayed dry. The foreman was fantastic and we were able to fully understand everything that was going on. He was also easy to talk to and very polite. The rest of the crew were kind and worked so hard to make everything look perfect. I highly recommend Whitman Roofing and we are completely satisfied with the job that was done.

1-Star Review – Absolute Nightmare – Do NOT Use This Company for Solar Roof Installation I regret the day I ever hired this company to install solar panels on my roof. What was supposed to be an exciting upgrade to go green has turned into a three-four year ongoing disaster of leaks, water damage, mold, and endless frustration. From the start, their installation was sloppy – poor flashing around the panels and shingles led to immediate water intrusion. We’ve had persistent leaks causing stained ceilings, warped drywall, and worst of all, mold growing in my daughter’s closet from the constant moisture. This isn’t just cosmetic; it’s a health hazard for my family. Every time we’ve called them out (and they’ve charged us $450 each visit just to “inspect”), they stubbornly blame our chimney – even though two independent roofing companies have inspected and confirmed the leaks are directly from their shoddy shingle work and flashing around the solar mounts. One of their workers even argued aggressively with my wife inside our home when she pointed out it couldn’t be the chimney. For three years, they’ve refused to take responsibility or fix their mistakes properly. No accountability, no real repairs, just excuses and bills. We’ve spent thousands on temporary fixes and damage control while they dodge warranty obligations. This company prioritizes quick installs and sales over quality workmanship and customer care. If you’re considering solar with a new roof, run far away from these guys. Save yourself the headaches, health risks, and financial drain. Worst experience I’ve ever had with any contractor – zero stars if possible.

Highly recommend. We had a new roof installed and Steve Whitman's entire team were all so professional. From the salesman Dave, to Julie in the office to Tom, the job super. Roberto and his crew did a great job ripping off the old roof and installing the new roof . Meticulus cleanup during one of the hottest days of the summer. Thank You for a fantastic job.
