Solar install on new San Marcos house

Another positive experience with Stellar Solar. They installed solar on our old house in 2015 so when we moved this summer, they were the first call we made. Once again, Marc Cirelli provided excellent customer service. I told him I wanted to move quickly and he made it happen. The install was quick and painless and we received our permission to operate yesterday. For reference, I have neighbors who contracted with other companies well before I did and they're still waiting for an install date. Highly recommended. If we move again, Marc will be the first person I call.

SunPower and Marc Cirelli are a spot of sunshine!

We had great sales service and education from Marc Cirelli with SunPower. My co-worker went through them years ago...and about 5 of her neighbors did, too...and the customer service referral from their long history is what sold us. We did get a few other quotes, but all were pretty close. There was no hard sell, in fact, it was almost a year since our first contact with Marc to when we decided to move forward. He was informative and low-pressure. It was funny because on our install day, that went super smoothly, our neighbors across the street were getting solar installed with Baker...the Baker team was 3 trucks, a porta-potty...took 4 days and seemed like 20 guys...(though we learned later they had a total panel install and they guy fell through their ceiling...it was a mess!)...we had a solid team of about 5-ish and all extremely nice and they wore masks and were super great! Well, we had a smooth install, inspection with the City went well, and connection with SDG&E was easy...we even got set up weeks before our neighbor because they had an installation nightmare and then paperwork miscommunication that delayed it all. Needless to say, I feel confident about using SunPower and working with Marc Cirelli was fantastic. Personable, informative, responsive (SUPER QUICK!)....and I love the app on my phone to track our energy generation!!

Stellar Solar was extremely proficient and efficient in installing our solar system. Marc our sales rep was very helpful explaining the process, the technology, and the warranties. Once we signed the contract, the entire system was operational in less than a month! I was very impressed with the professionalism and efficiency of all the installers and we are very happy with the results! I would highly recommend Stellar Solar if you are looking for a solid company that sells a good product!

Terrific From Start to Finish

Connor was our rep and from the first meeting he was professional and easy to work with. He provided great info about what we were getting and the pros and cons compared to other possible systems. He worked to smooth out zoning issues and was extremely responsive to questions. The install crew did amazing and even replaced a few broken tiles they found on the roof that were NOT because of their install. Since turning the system on, it has performed extremely well.

Very pleased with Stellar Solar!

I selected Stellar Solar for my solar panel needs based on the reviews I had read and their top rating for the area over the last few years. I was not disappointed. My sales professional, Chase Hamiter, was very informative and kept me in the loop throughout the process. After the initial meeting, measurements were taken and plans drafted for my approval. They also recommended a roofing company to precede the panel install. Once the panels were up, we awaited the inspectors approval. Once approved in mid January, Stellar followed up with me to make sure the system was up and running and to assist with the Sunpower application that helps me monitor the system. No problems to date. Am very pleased with the product and process.

Great to work with!!

We recently worked with Stellar Solar on the installation of 28 solar panels for our home. We couldn’t be happier with the installation process and the workmanship. What can I say about this company? Utmost professionalism throughout the whole process. Marc Cirelli was great to work with, very informative and synthesized all the hard to understand concepts simply for me. The install team was in and out in what felt like an hour, and did an amazing job on the installation, leaving no trace behind. The amount of money I am now saving is a huge relief, and I love seeing that $0 SDGE bill every month! Sunpower by Stellar Solar is truly an amazing company!!!!!

Great Product and Customer Service!

After receiving bids from various solar providers, we made the decision to move forward with Stellar Solar, and we couldn't be any happier with the end product. Marc Cirelli was the sales representative who was responsive to the questions we had, was not pushy, and provided us with a system design that fit our needs. Prior to making our decision I happened to cross paths with a Stellar Solar installer by the name of Mario, who was at Home Depot. Candidly, I asked him about Stellar Solar and the SunPower product to get a different perspective outside of the sales conversation with Marc. Both were consistent with their confidence in the SunPower panels and Enphase microinverters. This definitely influenced our decision to move forward with Stellar Solar. Throughout the process, communication was great and responses were prompt. The install team was professional, maintained social distancing practices (as the install occurred during the Covid-19 pandemic), and left our residence clean. I highly recommend Stellar Solar if you are searching for Solar Companies, they exceeded our expectations!

I had a great experience with Stellar. We have lived in two homes in the last two years and used Stellar Solar to both. My current system has been producing power for the last two years and we are very happy with it. Communication was great and timelines were accurate. Excellent Company with Great Follow Though

I had contemplated getting solar power for our home for a number of years. Often the representative who came to our home was more of a sales person than an individual who wanted to understad our needs. Then I received a recommendation from a friend and shortly there after met with a representative for Stellar Solar, Marc Cirelli. He was excellent at listening to our needs and concerns. Prior to leaving our home he had provided all the necessary answers to our questions (member of panels, time frame for the job completion, and estimated date when it would be functional. Marc and the crews who provided the installation were timely, informative about the stages of installation and explaining next steps to be completed. The crews left each day after everything was put back in place with nothing left lying around. Great people to work with on this kind of project. Finally, now that the panels are up and running, right on schedule, I can only conclude this is an honest, skilled team of individuals who delivered exactly what had been promised. BTW - Marc was always available to answer any questions I had throughout the project. My personal recommendation on Sunpower by Stellar Solar, start with them and even if you want to acquire other estimates I suspect, like us. you will be hiring the team from Sunpower by Stellar Solar.

Sunpower by Stellar Solar did a fantastic job on my solar system. The install supervisor was friendly, knowledgeable and detail-oriented. The project came out looking so clean. Whole project was smooth from start to finish.

The best solar company for sure.

I have had my solar system installed about 3 years ago and I couldn't be happier. My electric bill has almost disappeared and I have 2 teenagers that love to use power. It is looking like I will have my ROI earlier than expected. So after 4 and a half years I will be producing free power for the next 20 years. Thank you Sunpower by Stellar Solar. I have recommended them to many of my friends and family so that they can start the savings that I am.

Terrible Custormer Serivce

We recently moved into a home with solar panels installed by this company and when we called them to change ownership, they told us that we needed to shell out 300$ to have their monitoring system connect to OUR internet, which we pay for, in order for them to monitor if our solar is working correctly. They then proceeded to tell us that we were being charged because we own the solar panels and if we leased them, this charge would be voided. We are in Real Estate and have a lot of friends who intall solar and when we talked to them about this fee, they were shocked. The fee was not negotiable and we were stuck either with wither never having our solar monitored or paying 300$ for someone to come connect to our internet, which we could do ourselves since we connected our own internet with extenders. So, all in all, not a great experience unless you were the original purchasers of the solar

Poor performance from solar panels

I purchased a 9.8kWp system of 30x E20 panels from Stellar Solar. Wanted to like Stellar Solar, but I can't say that I would recommend them. The installation went well, but I've had the solar panels for a year now and they performed at 82% of the projections. I was expecting at least a 90% projection so getting only 82% seemed unacceptable to me. When I inquired if they could do anything about it, Stellar Solar just re-directed me to SunPower. When I talked to SunPower, they said this is within their acceptable criteria. So basically, they would do nothing about it. My peers that got Solar have all exceeded their projections. Now I understand there are a lot of variations in Solar - weather, shade, panel lottery, etc. However, 82% performance of projections is pretty crappy and this company says it's acceptable so I wouldn't recommend them. Learn from my mistakes and make sure you get some guarantees in performance when shopping for Solar.

I did the research; this company IS the best option!

I started solar company research 4 years ago. I quickly canceled my research because all the companies pissed me off. It seemed like a complete scam/hustle. Then this year I started my research again. Solar power is too important, so I got back into the ring to, this time, pull the trigger and get it done. I have issues with getting the best quality at the best price. I got three quotes and then went full on into third party solar panel comparisons, all available for free online. I plugged in the exact panels each company was quoting me. SunPower was off ALL the charts in quality, production and warranty/lasting production. Absolutely, by far the best product. But that's not my only criteria, I expect very good customer care. My salesman Marc got me dialed in and permits acquired with very little effort on my part. I had an old roof, and asked a roofing friend to quote me replacing prior to solar install. Except I prefer all warranty work under the same company, so I contacted Marc to see what Stellar could do. He matched the roofing cost AND upgraded the singles to "Cooling Series" for no additional cost. Sorry for such a long review, but the best is yet to come. The installation crew. Luis, Ken, Robert and Matt. So way above and beyond in every task. Painted all my vents to match the brand new metal trim they installed. Replaced dry rot wood panels, took care of my dog Bowser, cleaned up better than when they arrived, and were the most friendly, accommodating, efficient and fun crew I could ask for. Complete 24 panel system, with brand new roof, installed to perfection AND cleaned up in 5 days!! I've done your research for you. This company is your best option! SunPower Powers My Mind

Stellar Solar SunPower panels are cheaper than paying the monthly SDG&E bill. That should be reason enough to use them. It gets better. I knew the above fact and contacted Marc Cirelli, who became my consultant from that day and will always remain so, he is just a call or text away. The next day, he had his team conduct an inspection to provide options for my system and was able to provide me with quotes that same night. I realized immediately that Stellar Solar could install enough panels for me to be net positive, never having to pay an electric bill again--and all for about $150-200 less per month (on average, with summer bills that tend to balloon) than I'd pay SDG&E. Now, they are paying me, as they buy the electricity back. The installation was done in one day, including two 240 volt outlets in our garage for our electric cars. When done, they sent a great Technician out to commission our system, which enabled power generation information that is visible via the SunPower Monitor app. Loving it. Thanks, Marc!

I had a fantastic experience with Stellar Solar. Connor always answered my calls and emails promptly and the on-site crew was terrific. I would definitely recommend Stellar Solar to anyone considering the installation of a solar system.

Professional, courtesy and highly skilled

I am very happy with my solar panels and my solar set-up. Dave Gersz and Mario and his crew were all very courtesy and professional. I interviewed several different solar companies and I was most impressed with the Stellar Solar Sunpower system and pleasantly surprised that they were on the low end of the estimates I received. Great team, great outcome.

Perfect

Met with Dave Gersz at my home to learn about SunPower Panels. no pressure, just facts and how it would all progress should i move forward with Stellar Solar. of course after he left, i went down my own rabbit hole of internet research which only confirmed what he told me earlier in the day. Dave was there every step of the way, (before and after signing the contract) checking in and answering any questions i had. the install team: everyone was professional and friendly. it was obvious that aesthetics and the quality of the install were important to them...i particularly appreciated having the crew respect my home and have a sense of responsibility to get it right. we've been nonstop at this house since we moved in so i've been dealing with plenty of contractors, tradesmen etc, and these guys have been top notch...and quite frankly a breath of fresh air. once the panels were up, they scheduled the inspection and even though they told me it could be up to a week for SDGE to give us our Permission to Operate green light, i got mine the day after the inspection. everything was handled by them and i just had to field emails or phone calls to set up times i would be home, which was simple because i work from home. the onsite tech walked me through how to login/use the monitoring app and how to flip the breakers on once we received PTO. seamless, professional and simple. there's a lot of solar installers out there, which, if you're reading this review, you know. Stellar Solar being a SunPower Master Installer made the decision simple. i suppose it's a personal decision whether you want SunPower or Panasonic or LG or whatever panels. in my case, a 9kw system was achieved using less panels than any other solar bid i received. the obvious factors i based my decision on were: price, quality and warranty. efficiency was sort of important to me, but not a limiting factor. a 9kw system will produce the target numbers regardless if it's 26 panels or 30 that gets you there. quality and especially their warranty, easily brought SunPower to the top...which unfortunately also puts their price point into the 'premium' category. if you've come this far, my final suggestions is to really look into the specifics of the warranties on your bids: who will be answering the phone on the other end, and who will be responsible for fixing any issues you have with your system.

Another satisfied customer

Stellar SunPower truly is a stellar supplier and installer of a quality product. My salesman Keith Davies stayed involved from start to finish. No high pressure sales tactics just great service and coordination. I have to say I was concerned about any work on my lightweight concrete tile roof. No issue we these guys. They have a first class roofer with many years experience and that truly showed in the finished project. I also was very impressed with the on staff electrician. We did an upgrade from a 100 amp service to a 225 amp service with new sub panel and breakers. Very clean. Now I can run that new pool house I plan to build with no shortage of power. Of course there are the panels themselves. Aesthetic design and generating up to 50 kWh per day this month.

Tough decision

Shopping for solar panels was almost like buying a car. You dont know who's full of it. Some companies had a lower bids because they didnt estimate enough panels, others had a higher bid for the opposite reason. I had called at least 6 other solar companies and got bids from each one of them. I estimated on my own what I thought may be sufficient. I then called 1 last company and spoke to Keith Davey of stellar solar. Kieth took his time to give me the information needed. He forecasted the # of panels that was needed which happened to aligned with the my estimate. His bid was extremely competitive so I decided on stellar solar. I received my 1st bill it was 0 with a credit back to me that will help during the summer months

Where is the Service?

I had Stellar install my solar in February 2014 and have been extremely happy with both the company and the system. About a week ago, I noticed through my software that I have one panel not producing. I called the company every day since and only get an answering machine. After leaving multiple messages, I have not heard back from anyone. Based on my sales experience, I have recommended this company to others and at least one installation was completed because of my recommendation. I'm not so sure if I can continue to recommend them if their service is non-existent.
