From the start of our solar instal, to the end of the project, Solar Renewable Energy was perfect in EVERY way! Pricing-lower than most and for the work they did, I think we were undercharged. Quality-Perhaps it’s because the owner is Swiss, but the work was just at had a higher standard, think Swiss watches. The engineering and attention to detail was like nothing I’ve seen before. Cleanliness-The crew cleaned up everyday! The job site was left spotless! This is the third time we have had solar installed. We used bigger company’s who made lots of false promises, I wish I had know then what I know now. Thank you!

We had the rare opportunity to work with Solar Renewable Energy on another residence before we decided to have them install a solar unit on our house. SRE gave us a very satisfactory quote, walked us through the process, and installed the solar unit in less then two weeks. Stefan also found us a good inverter and set us up so we could both monitor power use and solar energy output. SRE is a small company but I would highly recommend them for anyone interested in getting into solar.

I went on to energy sage and got a slew of bids for solar. I then got a recommendation from a friend who used Solar Renewable Energy. After talking to countless solar reps I talked to Stefan. He was different. I didn't feel pressured. I didn't get a sales pitch. I immediately got a good feeling about him. He was professional, the bid came in very competitive, and I am so grateful I chose him. He is responsive and everything and every date he promised was exactly spot on. No funny stuff. This user interest in solar energy started in engineering graduate school back in the early 80's. However, at the time, a solar cell-panel price was prohibitive for homeowner application. As the price for solar cell-panel/battery became compatible with utility power pricing then my interest surged. My system battery (9.8 kW) life is guaranteed for 10 years; the panels (25) for ~ 20 yrs. Therefore, amortization is a combination of both system cost vs. both home consumption and export these projected over future power cost. Utility compatibility and affordable battery cost combined to make sense for homeowner installation in the late 20 century. My home system was recently installed and connected to the grid by a very professional a solar expert, Stefan Schweitzer. The work was first class and Stefan is a pleasure to deal with, he answered all of my questions. He went the extra mile to match the solar production to smart, real-time acquisition software in my PC. This software monitors performance. I can check if any of the panels is being shaded (less production) thus, lessening it's potential output. Also it gives me a warning when to cleanup the panels; just as a car gets dusty the panels do get dusty. Even in the middle of the winter month, I enjoy monitoring the energy production and the amount the system exports to the utility after my home and battery are powered/charged from sunup to sundown. As the sun goes down, the battery takes over and it powers my refrigerator, home lighting and some couple of evening hours of TV viewing until about 4 am. As the battery is drained down to 20% overnight, then I buy some utility power (UP) however, UP is about 10% of next day export. One caveat, the user must pick a utility power usage-tier defined by the local utility company. This tier choice, I wasn't aware of until the system became activated. San Diego, SDGE offers three rate tiers pricing. It has to do with the time of maximum grid power usage, for example, a most critical time is between 4 pm and midnight. The power savings is not the only benefit here. The battery expense came mitigated by a SGIP, a state agency that offers a battery subsidy. Additionally, there are other benefits. One is a Federal tax benefit in the range of 20 to 30% depending on the year of contract closing. Finally, my monitoring system tells me how much carbon mitigation my solar system produces by not burning hydrocarbon-fuel to power my home. Because I am a passive environmentalist, I do love to see how much carbon signature my system saves from mother earth. Further, I am exploring how to sell my carbon credits as accounted for by the software system.

Stefan is prompt, reliable, knowledgeable. He is very hands on in the install process. Our system is performing well. Our electricity bill dropped by 90%.

After receiving various quotes from other companies and comparing them, Stephan with Solar Renewable Energy had the best product at the best price. What we didn't anticipate was how fast and professional Stephan was at completing the project. He got to work and within two weeks of signing the contract we were up and running with SDG&E. Most companies will make you wait two to four months. All around a great experience and Stephan did all the work for us. Clear- proposal and contract was understandable with no BS or hidden sneakiness like some others we entertained. Fast & Efficient- approved quick and install was on time and smooth. Competitive- pricing was understandable, non nonsense and better than some others. Overall- Highly Recommend them.

After comparing quotes with a 1) major/national solar company, 2) a solicitation door-knock, and 3) Stefan/SRE through a family recommendation I chose to go with SRE due to having the best price, personal touch and trust, and comparable warranties on both the panels & workmanship. Stefan and his crew had the 15-panel 5.1 kW system installed in 1 day, took another 1/2 day to tie in all the connections and ground, and had approval from the city of Vista & turned on by SDG&E in another 2 days. The process working with SRE was efficient, seamless, and enjoyable. We've already recommended them to others in our neighborhood who have expressed a similar experience on the front end of their buying process in attaining bids.

Solar Renewable Energy, Stefan and his team, completed our Solar panel installation in just a few days. However, the permitting process for our power panel upgrade (from 100 Amps to 200 Amps) proved to be a complex process with SDG&E and the city of Escondido and the County of san Diego. Bottom line - Stephan was ane to work through this every time. I give his team a two-thumbs up.

I had the pleasure of having my solar done with Stefan's team. They gave me the breakdown on how long it will take to do the install of the solar panes and the permits.. There are 3 permits or processes down. One permit is for the solar through my city. The second one is for solar the battery added to the solar that also needs its own permit and inspection. The third is to get the SDG&E to approve the solar going into the grid. Stefan has been great in explaining the process and how the solar can work. There is an app for your computer or phone to see how much electricity you are using with your solar, how much you are putting into the grid and much much more to see how much your savings you are getting with solar. I had 19 solar panels installed plus a battery for off the grid emergencies. People do not understand if the grid is off and you do not have a battery backup, your electricity is down too. The backup battery will activate on its own when it does not see the grid available. I highly recommend this team for your solar. Stefan was the contractor / installer of my solar system. He is very knowledgeable on all types of solar systems, and off grid installations. He did a super nice job first-class craftsmanship on the whole system. My panels are a couple hundred feet from my house close to my power pole and meter. The support system for my solar panels is heavy duty, well engineered. Solar panels were placed perfect on the framework. We got several solar bids, but decided on Stefan and Solar Renewable Energy because we knew he would personally supervise the installation. He was professional from start to finish. We were able to fast-track our system and got it permitted, installed, and up and running in a very short time. Stefan takes the time to personally make sure we understood each aspect of the system. I'm so glad I found SRE. It was from LDinSD on an online solar forum. I received about a dozen quotes and SRE was one of the best and also Stefan, the owner was very knowledgable about solar. He was also here, part of the install the whole time. My install took about 6 weeks, from signing the contract to SDG&E giving permission to turn on the system. Most of the wait time was for my city to approve the permit. Even if you choose another solar installer, you need to speak with SRE to sanity check what other companies are proposing and the price they're charging. I found some other companies to be more painful than a used car lot. I think Stefan and his company will be around for a long time, with the way he and his employees interact with their customers.

My experience with SRE and Stefan, the owner of the company, has been exceptional. After going through several bids from salesmen of large local installers here in San Diego, I chose SRE. SRE does not have all the overhead of paying for such things as salesmen and advertisements, so as a small privately owned company, they are extremely competitive on price. Additionally, I learned by talking with Stefan that he had several years of experience installing Solar for commercial installations prior to starting his own company. To me, this signaled professionalism because electrical code for commercial installations are generally more stringent than residential code. I am a bit of a research fanatic and probably spent a good year intermittently studying all types of panel and inverter systems. When it came time to ask for a quote from SRE, there was no pushing of systems or inverter types from Stefan. I told him exactly want I wanted and how big of a system I wanted. I went with some great quality and highly efficient LG310 panels and a Powerwall ready SE7600 inverter system. I was pleasantly surprised when I received no push back--just a great quote ($1-$2 less per DC watt than the big boys). The salesmen from the larger companies all pushed for a particular system and often did not even know about certain details I had discovered during my extensive research. This is not to say that Stefan and SRE would not help you choose an appropriate system if you needed it. He definitely knows his stuff. I was pleasantly surprised, shocked even, at how quickly SRE installed my system. From the time Stefan came and inspected my roof and we signed the contract, it took less than 3 weeks to get permitting approved by the city. While my research did not extend to the permitting process, Stefan showed me the engineering plans and blueprints even, and they looked quite impressive. I'm assuming this stems from his commercial experience. After approval, Stefan came the following week with his crew and installed the system in a couple of days! No waiting, no queues. He followed up with the city inspector and SDGE the next day and I had my system approved for service. All in a months time--wow! We easily beat NEM 2.0 and will now be grandfathered in for NEM 1.0, saving us about $100-200 annually in additional fees as part of NEM 2.0. As to the quality and professionalism of the installation, it was an exceptional job. The attention to detail is what I look for--things like how neat the wiring is in the box and how the conduit is painted and tucked under the rooftop as it travels from my inverter to the box. Stefan even set me up with full access to the monitoring for my system which allowed me to see the layout and individual performance of my panels. All in all, we could not be happier with Stefan and SRE. I have recommended him to all my co-workers, friends, and family. This has been one of the best investments we have made and we are glad we chose SRE.
