Solar Energy Services did an outstanding job diagnosing and replacing a faulty inverter and getting our system back online. The warranty support was exactly what you hope for: fully covered, with both the replacement equipment and the service handled smoothly and professionally. Megan Coughlin, Service Department Manager, was supportive and responsive throughout, kept me updated, and helped move scheduling along as soon as the inverter was delivered. On site, Mr. Nisim Evans (Lead Tech) and Mr. Ian Harris were terrific. They were clearly experts and incredibly knowledgeable, worked efficiently, and communicated well about what they were doing. They were also courteous, personable, and a genuine pleasure to have in our home. They handled a challenging environment without missing a beat: our street was actively being repaved with a full road construction crew, specialty heavy equipment, dump trucks, and asphalt operations directly in front of the house all day. To make things even more complicated, the asphalt grinder damaged our underground Verizon internet line. Despite those obstacles, the crew stayed focused, worked through lunch, and then made extra time to return the following day to complete the hookup. Highly recommend Solar Energy Services for both the quality of the technical work and the professionalism of the team.

SES installed a system on our house December 2022, so we've had it up and running for 7+ months now. We're very happy with it and were impressed with the quality of people , equipment and follow-through at SES. Our story: I had been interested in solar for awhile and had recently purchased a house. Another solar company was going door to door, so we got a quote from them. The ins and outs of solar quotes are a little complicated, with variables in pricing based on equipment type, if you're financing or buying outright or renting the system etc. So, while that quote was a helpful baseline, I knew I wanted to compare a bit. A friend - who had a system installed on her house - recommended Solar Energy Services. I called them and Seth dropped by the next morning I believe. Very informative, knowledgeable, friendly and easy to talk to. Compared quotes, systems, make of equipment as well as variables between financing, buying outright, renting and owning. Again, hard to get a straight across the board apples to apples comparison, but I was pretty well convinced SES was the way to go - based both on price and their track record, Seth's knowledge and my friends recommendation. I also researched the panels and inverter they were going to install - liked the fact that the panels made in North America and SolarEdge (inverter) also checked out as top-notch. We hustled on installation as we had decided to buy outright (best deal, most savings long-term) and needed to get it done in 2022 so we could get the tax credit in April of 2023. One tricky wrinkle was our roof, which was just old enough that it didn't make sense to me to put a system on it that I would then have to remove in 10 years or so to put a new roof on at a cost of roughly $8K. So, decided to replace the roof before installation. Went with Marasun roofing - another Seth recommendation - and they were top-notch as well. New roof, then solar installation. Crew was very good, very professional. Got everything sorted and inspected and officially installed for tax purposes and turned system on I believe very early January 2023. So, our monthly electric bill - which used to range from $150-$300+ is now $9 ... production has outpaced consumption for every month except for Jan/Feb and July so far. I think I've gotten about $250 in checks so far - one for SRECs and one from power company for excess produced. Overall very happy with SES. GREAT people. Really easy to work with, responsive, helpful and know their stuff. I've had two issues that were resolved quickly (within 2 days of calling). One was an issue with my production / consumption not showing correctly on app. Technician came and fixed a small wiring issue. The other was just this week - solar system stopped producing down, an internal error in the inverter. I called on a Tuesday, Dominic was here installing a new inverter Thursday afternoon (all under warranty). So, stellar experience overall. My only suggestion would be that SES could benefit from enhanced client communications system or an app to keep customers informed of appointments / arrival times / delays ... that said, they still did a great job at every stage.

After a delay of a few years to undertake this rather large home improvement/investment project, SES proceeded with my installation and everyone from on-line sales, quotes, questions to site visits, installation and follow-up site visits have been excellent. Have already had inquiries from neighbors and friends. AND to add to the complication of our particular installation... it was in a Historic District which has very strict requirements about solar installations. Everything worked out very well.

At the end of the day, serendipitously and fortunately, I went with Solar Energy Services: I can't recommend SES strongly enough. Erin was our project coordinator, she was amazing, but the entire team was truly outstanding, remarkably professional, educating me and guiding me throughout the process. I am sure most people (like me) can find this process a bit intimidating (so many details and options to consider; companies sound all alike; prices are all over the place) but having found SES was a turning point. I have read so many horror stories that I consider myself very lucky, it is obvious that SES cares about its reputation. Should any of you readers out there decide to go solar, I have no doubt Erin and her people will be happy to educate you and help you get there, just like they did for me. Ruben B.

The bottom line is that I did a ton of research on solar installers and purchase vs. lease. Ultimately we decided to go with SES because of multiple, personal, reviews on the company from friends and people who had used them and who gave me feedback on NextDoor. All of them had done the research I had and all of them came to the same conclusion; SES was reputable, did great work, and backed up their claims with actual performance. SES worked with me for weeks leading up to the eventual installation of our system. There was design, permitting, and financing to consider. Once the permits came through, they put me on their schedule and showed up exactly when the said they would. There were multiple steps to the installation (AC work, DC work, panel conversion, interface work, cabling, and a battery installation). Through all of it, SES provided me with delivery dates and they showed up when they said they would. The multiple teams (electricians and installers) that were here were made up of workers I wound up chatting with and wanted to be around; they were clean in their work and in their manners. There was one problem that came up that turned out to be a misaligned cable that must've jiggled loose from the manufacturer (not their fault), but they sent someone out to my house at 6:45am to get it working again. I can't say enough positive things about dealing with them. Take a look at the interface and inverter installation on the side of my house; if you know anything about cable management, you can see that this is artwork that they performed. They even took steps to make sure that all of my state, local, and environmental credit applications were completed and filed properly so that I received the maximum benefit for the installation. Would I used them again? ABSOLUTELY. Would I recommend them to neighbors; WITHOUT QUESTION.

Our installed SES system is better than promised or expected!

We've had our Solar Energy Services-installed system for about 1 1/2 years now, and it is working perfectly with zero issues - AND it is performing better than we expected. Even though our home is fairly large, we have covered our entire energy demands and generated a small net surplus each of the first two seasons. SES has been terrific throughout - from sales, installation, start up and service. We could not be more pleased.

Solar Energy Services was willing to try to service a 9 year old Schuco system they didn't sell. Hard to find good people do that. Reliable scheduling and transparent, understandable and fair pricing. Knowledgable service tech arrived on schedule and changed glycol and fully recharged system - he was very diligent/thorough. Every crew was very professional and did an outstanding job. I was at the site most of the time and witnessed every operation. I interviewed with three other companies and thought SES had the best product and am glad I picked them. After six weeks of operation, mainly in the month of February, I have produced way more electricity than I have used and now have over 700 kwh accumulated on the grid (in the bank) so I am very happy with the system. SES handled all the paperwork and I already have received all of the credits both IRS and the MD state. Obviously I recommend SES to anybody considering solar energy.

Designing, installing and operating a PV solar system is a many-step, non-trivial process. SES provided professional advice and experienced technicians every step of the way. Outstanding from start to finish!

My wife and I were so impressed with John Marrah's presentation that we basically had made our decision to go with Solar Energy Services that first visit! We liked the fact that they are a local company with roots back to the early 80's and they're here to help for the long haul (not here today, gone tomorrow!). Things for us happened quicker than we expected and the SES team took care of everything...we just sat back and watched the magic. Shout-out to Kevin Hoang and his crew for a superb job on the installation under some pretty challenging weather conditions at times. And Ethan Goddard and Erin McMahan were awesome and instrumental in seeing that all procedures and finishes were taking care of in the most professional manner. All Around Success

I had three companies come to my home to present their proposals and design plans. John Marrah III from Solar Energy Services was more knowledgeable, designed a better system, and was the most pleasant to deal with. He was responsive to my numerous questions, showed up early and was respectful of my home and my pets. Those little things go a long way! Complications with permitting did not stop him from getting the job done. The install team was great also! I have had a lot of contractors coming through in recent months, and these guys set themselves apart. Keeping it local is important. Look no further. John is the go-to guy for solar on the Eastern Shore.

End of Tax Year and Sunshine and Time was a Wasting

I have been wanting to install a solar PV system for years and with the cost going down, now was the time to do it before the end of the year so that I could get the Federal Tax Credit and State Grant. I explained my desires and short fused timeline to Solar Energy Services (SES) and they assured me that they would do their best. The expedited the design plans and in submitting the necessary permits. The crews were onsite and ready to go when promised and completed ahead of schedule. Needless to say, I'm very pleased with the professional work by the crew and the support administrative staff of SES.

if I could give this co. 10 stars I would, best price, service was excellent, warranty was the best out of the 7 co. I got info from. john marrah jr. 410-714-4007 was our consultant out of Easton MD, he was always just a ph call away, and still is, job well done solar energy services.i would use them again for sure. looking forward to getting our 30% check at tax time. we have a total electric house,separate garage and studio, our bill is 13.00 $ a month,and we have banked over 1500 kw since our startup on june 2018. plus not the sunniest summer.

From start to finish, Solar Energy Systems listened to our concerns and executed the project in a timely manner. Everyone was knowledgeable and courteous, we couldn’t be happier!

Solar Power System Installation

SES started and finished project early. Site was maintained and cleaned up (interior and exterior) quickly and completely. A minor installation misadjustment was promptly corrected. The system produces power as advertised.

System Re-install

Solar Energy Services actually re-installed and restrung much of my 29.4kw system that was moved from one property I am selling to a second residence I own 1/2 mile away. When moved by the other contractor there was no concern for maximizing the performance of my system, only the easiest, cheapest way to do the job in my opinion.as owner. I have (90) Sunpower 327 watt panels on (5) 6000 watt SolarEdge inverters with power optimizers. The initial contractor connected (14) panels facing almost due West to one inverter, (14) panels facing almost due South to another, (16) with fourteen of these facing almost due South and the remaining two facing almost due East, and (22) and (24) panels, again facing almost due South to the last two inverters. As early as January 2018, both of the inverters with 22 and 24 panels connected were "clipping" power. Solar Energy Services came in, found and corrected an isolation fault in one string of 14 panels and restrung my system so that I now have 16, 16, 16, 19, and 23 panels connected to my five inverters. The array with 23 panels consists of the (14) facing due West and (9) facing due South. I am very, very satisfied with everyone I had dealing with at Solar Energy Services. I would not hesitate recommending them to anyone looking for a "premiere" solar contractor! Thank you for this opportunity to brag about them. They are fantastic!!!
