Chris was able to give me the best quote, the fastest turn around and provided me all the information that made me decided to go with Sol R Us. There should be more people like him in this business, that gave an honest opinion and pricing. Never did I felt like Sol R Us was taking advantage of me, if anything I felt I was emailing him a lot with questions that he was able to answer back fast. I don't often write reviews for companies. They have to be outstanding or horrible. In the case of SOL R US Electrical Engineering....OUTSTANDING....and in many different respects: Professional, Pricing, Service, Knowledge and Follow up. I have had my own business for 25 years so I understand customer service and value. I was able to check all the boxes with Sol R us! I am not writing this review immediately after my solar system was installed, in fact it is about nine months after installing a 10.23 kW system. A fairly large roof installed system. I will not gush on, but the install went extremely well! And the quality of parts (Panasonic panels and Solar Edge inverter) are some of the best on the market. After getting the final City of Walnut Creek permit we were up and going. Everything was going well and I kept an eye on the solar generation. After about 8 months I was wondering if we were going to be at zero cost (what we wanted) at the yearly 'true up". Granted I do not have the easiest house for solar panals (and one company told me that it may not be worth it) because there are large Redwood and Sycamore trees surrounding the house. Anyway, I called Chris and told him that we might be short at the 'true-up' and we set up a meeting. This is where I found out what kind of company I was dealing with. Chris showed up with a plan. He had looked over the production before he arrived and said that he thought we might be short and had calculated that we needed to add another 10 panels.....AND that would be at NO CHARGE to me. I was truly amazed! I have had many dealings with contractors over the years but had never had this happen. The panels were installed this week and I vowed that I would get the word out even more than I already had. I could go on for a couple of more pages but you get the picture. You will love working with Chris, Jeremy and Eddy and their employees!

Sol R Us: Quality product and superior customer service

We installed in October of 2017. I spoke to several solar companies and had almost signed with one when Chris called. Same panels, same system, same warranty...all for significantly less money. Installation took place right away; as matter of fact, we were up and running with solar long before the projected start dates the other companies had quoted me. Chris and his team were absolutely professional and demonstrated expert knowledge and skill; they were clean neat and orderly; and they even showed concerned for cosmetic issues that I wasn't worried about at all. I should have written a five star review back in October because that was my experience, but I didn't because I'm lazy, I guess (or, as my spouse points out, I like to procrastinate) but regardless, this is why I wright it now. Great customer service isn't what happens when everything goes right. Great customer service is exactly what happens when something doesn't go right. We had a power failure in the area this week and our solar system apparently didn't reset properly. Today is Sunday and I discovered the issue this morning! I sent an email to Chris asking him what I should do to get the system up and running again. Expecting him to get back to me sometime this week, I am astonished to find him answering my email and then coming out to my house to reset the system and show me how to do it myself. Today is Sunday! Let me emphasize that; TODAY IS SUNDAY! I hear companies selling solar on the radio and TV everyday. I get weekly phone calls from companies who are still attempting to sell me solar, even after having told them several times that I already have it. I look on line and see the customer reviews of these other companies and see that maybe the price was right or maybe the price wasn't right, but they didn't get back or someone was suppose to call or there was confusion between the sales staff and the installation crew... on and on and on. I would never tell another home owner what to do, however I will say that of all the major purchases I have made in my life, I am the most confident and the most satisfied with the purchase I made through Chris and Sol R Us.

Sol R US takes a ery efficient, informative and consultative approach to the sales and implementation of the solar system. We installed it 2 months ago and Chris has been in touch to monitor the output and performance. I can call Chris at any time and he is ready to discuss any questions I have. Very happy with Sol R Us

We had solar panels installed a few weeks ago and we couldn’t be happier with sol r us. I did a lot of research and had 3 companies come out for a bid. Jeremy was my contact at Sol r us and was very low pressure and informative. He told me questions to ask when looking at other companies to help me compare apples to apples. They let us pick our panels and our inverter but they gave objective recommendations which were very helpful. We were initially attracted to a different solar company (Sunpower) bc of the panels and the strength behind its name/warranty but in the end their bid (for less panels) was 30% higher and would only produce 70% the power of the Panasonic’s that Sol R Us put on our house. Then, right after Trump declared an intent to tariff foreign solar panels 30% we received a call from SunPower stating they had to raise our bid by 25%. They said it was due to us having a clay tile roof, although they had been to our house twice and we had specifically talked about our tile roof because I thought that could be a hang up (plus in the initial bid Sunpower sent pictures of our tile roof with images of how it would look with solar panels). I contacted Jeremey at Sol R Us to see if prices would change in the near future and he was great. He said there would be no change in pricing until they were affected by it when purchasing their panels. Sol R us had multiple types of panels on hand and gave us multiple quotes depending on which panels we went with. Their price point was by far the best of the 3 companies we got bids from. We ended up going with Panasonic panels and a SolarEdge inverter after I did a lot of research (which exactly matched the recommendations of sol r us). Sol r us set up monitoring and gave us a 20 year warranty on all including the roof. The company owner Chris was on site for both days of the install and was a very honest and hardworking guy. His team was great as well. They even replaced about 15-20 of our broken tiles for free. And they applied sealant to several places where the roof peaks were looking a little vulnerable. Sol r us had initially prepared us that it would take about 2 months from agreeing to contract and having panels running and on the grid. It turned out to be less than 1 month. We have been incredibly happy with our decision to go with Sol R Us. Chris and Jeremy are amazing, honest, and very knowledgeable. It’s mid March (pretty cloudy/rainy recently) and we are already producing about 85% of our average daily usage. I can’t wait to see what our production is like in the summer. We couldn’t be happier with our experience with Sol R Us and I have been recommending them to all my family, friends, and colleagues. Thanks a lot Chris and Jeremy

Fantastic Customer Service

The guys at Sol R Us - Chris and Jeremy - treated us with outstanding customer service even though (I assume) our job was small (only 16 panels). They prepared detailed quotes and projections, met with us in person twice to answer questions and seal the deal, and have been responsive in person and via email about how to operate our system. The installation was on-time and fast ... I wish I could say that about other contractors we are dealing with. The system looks great, is working great, and I can't wait for our first PG&E bill with net energy metering.

Sol R US (Walnut Creek) 23 panel install

Sol R Us Electrical Engineering (Chris and Eddie) did a very meticulous and through installation job. First, I am a very picky person who does a lot of research prior to getting a project done on my house. I will know if the materials being used are the highest quality and if people are cutting corners. I also research everyone if they are licensed and if they have insurance and the whole nine yards in advance and if they were approved through California to be a photovoltaic (solar) installer so that the consumer can get the 30% tax incentive no problem. I also got at least 10 quotes and made sure to get the max manufacturer warranties as well as installation bumper to bumper warranties possible comparable to other installers. SolRUS met all my expectations and more with prices, timeframes, thoroughness, and meeting my requests. Every request I had they were able to handle it and answer every question I had. The city of Brentwood inspector came out and after inspecting everything from wires in the electric panels and having Chris and Eddie remove a solar panel as standard to check their work, the city inspector told me he was impressed by their work upon approving and passing them. As a consumer, this gives me extra confidence. Also, it was very impressive to see them take their time not rush through anything taking pride in their work like it was their own home. Also, the diversity in services they provided was convenient as they installed bird netting for my solar panels and a 240 volt Nema 14-50 electric outlet ready for a level 2 electric vehicle charger. Bottom line it’s rare to find experienced people who are patient, willing to meet your requests, who do phenomenal work, and give you the best price while meeting your timeframes. Sol R Us did a fantastic efficient and timely job installing these panels. I had 1500/month PG&E Bills, now under 300 (mostly Gas and fees now). Brian Pickerill went the extra mile an came out several times (including weekends) during the install to make sure I knew what to expect in the process... I really felt like part of the team. Best Price and Highest Quality Solar System Installer

The "Sol R Us Electrical Engineering" team of Chris and Eddie exceeded my expectations on all phases of my solar system buying experience. Chris worked with me to develop a cost-effective rooftop solar system that would optimize the production of 18 solar modules on the available roof space and meet 90% of my electrical needs. He actually walked the roof with me and showed me where the solar modules would be installed before I signed a contract. He was the only one of the dozen or so installers who gave me bids to do so. The work that Chris and Eddie performed was of the highest quality. They used top-notch materials and were diligent and precise with the assembly of the system components. It took only three weeks from contract signing to PG&E permission to operate (PTO), which was 1 week faster than other bids I received. I highly recommend Sol R Us Electrical Engineering to anyone looking to purchase a solar system.

26 Solar Panel Installation

Chris and his team did an excellent job! We interviewed three different companies and he was the most knowledgeable about his products and system sizing. All the information he gave us has been right on so far. What is the best is that we have no power bill from PG&E! We do know that it is summer and during the winter we will most likely get some charges but it should minimal. I highly recommend Sol-R-Us for purchasing and installation. Chris went out of his way to please us. Thanks Again Chris for a great job.

I have never in my life worked with a company more flexible, professional, customer service oriented. They were amazing and went above and beyond any and all expectations.
