I recently had a solar system installed by Sol R US, working with Daniel Rosenberg and the Solrus Solar Company, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. It's been over a year since my installation, but I wanted to wait until at least after my first annual true-up bill from PG&E, so here it goes: I was referred to SolRus by a former co-worker. I got to see his install and learn about his experience working with Chris, Daniel and Arielle. I'm the type that really gets into the weeds before making a big purchase (I have a touch of OCD- lol); I got 6 bids and have been very happy with my decision to use SolRus. They offer a premium product at a very competitive price- actually the best I was able to find. Everything from the solar panels, the inverters and even the roof mounts they use (which are not all created equal) are top notch. Some companies I got bids from didn't even specify the model or brand of solar panels they were proposing (immediate red flag). Some companies that did provide a description of the equipment to be installed were asking nearly twice as much for inferior panels, inverter and mounts. Trying to charge Ferrari prices for a Ford Pinto is crazy! I had a brand new roof installed just before getting solar, so I was really concerned about them damaging it. After the install, during last winter's heavy rains, I went into the attic a few times to check for leaks and all was good. I had Daniel oversize my system by 20% because my next car will likely be an EV and I also knew we would use more electricity than we had in the past (most people that get solar typically do). The system actually produced 609kWhrs more than what Daniel projected it would from June 2022 through May 2023, despite a very rainy/cloudy winter. I was very happy to see that on our first annual true-up bill with PG&E, they owed us $154.72! I was a net exporter for the entire year by 1,818kWhrs, which should be plenty for me when I get an EV (I don't drive a ton). Daniel knows what he's doing in designing a system! If you're shopping around for solar, be weary of the guys that are aggressively selling leases and Power Purchase Agreements. They are typically a very bad deal = the worst way to get solar. You'll end up paying multiples what it will cost you to simply buy the system, even if you need to finance the purchase. The guys aggressively selling PPAs are the sleazy, used car salesmen of the solar industry. They have a slick response to any objections you may raise about leasing or PPAs, but read the fine print on those 20-25 year contracts. They are written to extract as much value/money from the consumer as they can; they favor the solar company, not the consumer. Glad that Daniel never even mentioned a lease or PPA. I'm a very happy owner of a solar system that has exceeded my expectations. With the recent rate increases from PG&E, and since I'm grandfathered in under NEM 2.0, I expect my payback to be just 3.5 years. =) As of this review on 9/25/23, I have referred 23 people to SolRus and all of them are happy customers. Yes, 23, which includes my brother, my partner's parents, friends and neighbors. I have no reason to believe that Chris, Daniel, Arielle and team won't continue to provide customers with a great product at a great price and an excellent overall customer experience.

I started my solar search at the start on March 1st, 2023. I wanted to get in on NEM2 as well as pay a fair price for a good system that met my current and future needs. I contacted Sol R Us along with other local installers and the big nationwide companies. I had 9 quotes of fairly similar systems but the prices varied greatly given the NEM2 rush. I went with Sol R Us because of the price, the equipment, working with their main sales contact Daniel as well as recommendations from others. Contract signed, PGE paperwork submitted, permit issued, install completed - 31 days from first contact. 2 weeks later city inspector came out and everything was good. I waited a few months to write this review to just make sure everything worked as expected and all is correct with my PGE billing. Everything is! 5 stars and would recommend Sol R Us.

The Sol R Us team is great to work with. I had a need for a Solar System by the end of NEM2.0 deadline in Q1 2023. Working with my Sales Rep. Mr. Daniel Rosenburg, he was able to lock me in at a great price and grandfathered me in with PG&E for NEM2.0. I got quotes from other Solar Companies and they were much more expensive, but Sol R Us was there with a good deal. In fact, I was referred to by my friend and dental hygenist about Sol R Us. The team did a great job installing and getting the job done under really hot, excessive conditions during the summertime in Brentwood. All the parts were in stock and ready for deployment on my roof. They were even kind enough to install the bird netting and 3 owls to deter the local pigeon population. I was referred to SOL R US by a neighbor. I didn’t know them, but after going through many alternatives (i.e. Kota, SunRun, Tesla, SunPower, GoWatts) I decided to go with SOL R US because of their superior product portfolio at a great price. The whole process was smooth. The installation was flawless. I felt at ease every step of the way. I worked with Daniel Rosenberg for sales.

Sol R Us was amazing and easy to work with. Chris, Daniel and the rest of the team are experts with everything they do. From information to installation, everything is honest and on spot! This is a company that takes pride in what they do!

I contacted SolRUs due to a referral from a friend. I contacted the sales team on May 11th. They asked me for information on current energy usage, which I supplied. A few days later, Chris, the owner, came to my house to inspect the roof and my electrical setup. We discussed the project and he was up-front with answers to all of my questions. They gave me a quote on May 20. The only downfall is that they only install Panasonic or LG branded panels. As those are more expensive panels, their quote was slightly above other quotes. Chris said they are currently booked for installs for 30 days, so they scheduled my install for June 27th. But on June 3rd, they called me and said they had a cancellation on Monday, June 6th. They asked if I was ok with them doing the install on June 6th. I was ok with that. The team arrived at about 8:05am. Everyone on the team was friendly. Chris, the owner, came by around 10am to make sure everything was going well and asked if I had any questions. They completed the install by 1pm. The entire job was done professionally and efficiently. The next day, I received emails with information about the 25-year warranties on all of the products that they installed. I got a call from Daniel from the sales team. He asked how everything went. He set me up with the APP that is used to monitor the panels. He has scheduled the city inspection for tomorrow. As soon as that is complete, they submit the paperwork to get net-metering completed with our electric utility, which may take 2-3 weeks. I am VERY happy with how the project was completed - from beginning to end. In less than a month from my initial contact with SolRUs, I'm up and running on solar power. I didn't have to deal with anything. They took care of permits and inspections. They will submit the paperwork needed with my electrical utility. I would highly recommend SolRUs to anyone.

SOLRUS Engineering deserved to be acknowledged for the exceptional quality of work, excellent customer service, quick responsiveness on questions and shown positive attitude each time. I went through 7 companies and compared quotes before deciding to go with SOLRUS. There were a couple of companies that are cheaper, however the work is being subcontracted. Daniel (Sales consultant) is very pleasant to work with. He is very patient and responsive. Chris who I believe is the owner, always seem to be inspecting and ensuring the work are done properly by his team. They don’t do any short cut on installation. I was able to refer 3 of my friends and they were also very happy with SOLRUS. I truly recommend SOLRUS if you are planning to install Solar. The most important thing is that they truly care about the customer and provide quality work.

I was referred to Sol R US from a family member which was really happy with their recent Solar installation. I compared their quote with a few different installers. Sol R US offered the best price for the size of our setup. Daniel our energy consultant was awesome and answered all of my questions. SOLRUS Engineering exceeded my expectations and provided fantastic customer service throughout the whole solar panel purchasing and installation process. Their solar panel selection, equipment and other mounting hardware and is top notch, and their prices were much better than the other quotes I received. Starting with Daniel (Energy Consultant) who walked me through the whole process and helped to educate me about solar panels systems. After listening to my needs, he quoted several different systems. He was very patient with me as I asked a lot of questions, and he was always happy to answer all the questions or concerns I had. They were the only company I contacted that offered a free site inspection before signing a contract. This was great because that way there were no surprises after I signed the contract. Chris (owner) came out for the site inspection and continued to educate me about solar systems. He improved the proposed panel layout, and we added a couple more panels and upgraded to a higher wattage better looking solar panel. The installation was beautifully done, and they finished in one day. They did a fantastic job and took care of some small roofing needs not in the quote. They also did the extra finish work like painting the conduit to match the roof shingles and house wall. They took care of all the building permits, inspection as well as the PGE paperwork required to start using the solar system. If you are looking for a professional, friendly, and honest solar installer with the best prices in town, do yourself a favor and give them a try. You will be glad you did like I am.

Sol U Us was an amazing, super professional company to work with. The process was so fast and easy. I noticed that my neighbors used Sol R Us and they were so expedient. The solar panels look fantastic. They put up our solar and had the city inspector inspect the work the next day. We got net metering up shortly after. I read alot of scary reviews from people getting their solar done. Thankfully I was not one of them. From working with Daniel in Sales to my roof inspection from Chris, to the installation done by Eddie and his team. I could not be happier with Sol R US.

Sol R Us checked all the boxes in what I was looking for in a Solar provider: local, certified, professional, great cost per kWh, longevity, trust, and service. Chose them after an extensive analysis of 20+ solar companies and am completely happy with the decision. They took care of all the operational parts and made my involvement minimal but transparent. System was installed when they said it would and done very professionally. The first contractor I've worked with who was showed up when they said, finished when they said, and cleaned up and did touch up. It is a beautiful system; well designed and installed. We want to give a huge shout out to Sol R Us Electrical Engineering on our solar system installation. Daniel Rosenberg did a Zoom call with me and modeled out the system using their software tools and priced out a top of the line system using Panasonic panels. Chris then came out and confirmed the layout. I researched several other installers but Sol R Us was by far the best price and most straightforward. They didn’t try to sell us more than we need. Their contract was very complete and fair to both parties. Permitting was done by Sol R Us and installation only took two days. Chris continually asked if we had any questions and made sure we understood the steps to getting to operating status. All paperwork was prepared by Sol R Us and sent to us for DocuSign, so all we had to do was review and sign. One week later, the city inspected the system and one week after that we had Permission To Operate! We are now solar energy producers! Do your due diligence, but trust me that Sol R Us is the company you should go with as they are the most competitively priced, reliable, and trustworthy. They get the job done on time and walked us through the entire process answering all questions promptly and completely.

Best experience! We were not sure if solar was right for us so we had 3 companies come out and give us a quote. We learned a lot about how solar works and knew we wanted to move forward but with which company?!? We were just about to sign a contract and my path crossed with Daniel at Sol R Us Electrical Engineering! What a delight! I rarely provide on line reviews, however I need to give a shoutout to Daniel, Chris and Sol R US Engineering crew. After discussing with multiple (8) solar companies, I have decided to trust Sol R Us with my Solar System install project. I am very happy I did. Daniel and Chris are very knowledgeable, responsive, professional and they delivered what they promised. The whole communication process for system selection, sizing, specific installation details, pricing was very easy - no sales pressure at all. After reading on line horror stories for folks taking 3-9 months from contract signing to having their system installed ( with other providers ), I was really impressed how professional they were and how fast they executed the whole project. From contract signing to being connected to the PG&E grid took less than ONE month! and the longest part was me obtaining HOA approval for the project. Outstanding! They offer top notch equipment and their install quality & service is 5 stars. If you have a solar project, you definitely want to check them out!

A truly great company with honest people and quality solar systems. Daniel, Chris and their team were a pleasure to work with and installed a beautiful 36 panel Panasonic system to met our needs. As others have mentioned, I received quotes from at least six other solar companies and Sol R Us Electrical Engineering provided the best service, product, warranty, and value for the price. Many companies overpromise and under deliver but this is not how Daniel or Chris operate. I cannot recommend them highly enough!

Sol R Us installed my 5.6 kW PV system and 27 kWh battery. They handled their part perfectly, and saved me from a lot of grief that they weren't even responsible for. They're the reason this challenging project succeeded. When I was calling around for info, Sol R Us knew far more than most installers about everything from the basics, to the advantages of different brands of hardware, to how to get a good ballpark quote over the phone before a site inspection. More than that, they were responsive and worked to make sure all my questions were fully answered. I had tough constraints: I wanted a system big enough to cover me through the next PSPS. But I'm in a condo with limited roof space for panels, and the best battery location has serious access issues. Other installers had told me that it wasn't possible, or that they could only install a much smaller system. Sol R Us has delivered fully and proven them wrong. Sol R Us tried to point me toward a lower-priced system, because mine produces more power than I use in a year. I had to convince them that I knew I was requesting a less cost-effective solution, because I hate the PSPSes THAT MUCH. I respect honest installers that check customers who are specifically requesting to pay more than necessary. My HOA had requirements for the precise region of the roof that I was allowed to use. Sol R Us happily got me all the diagrams I needed to establish that the proposed system would not take up too much area. Our roof has prominent vents, and the vent manufacturer required a certain clearance. Sol R Us got me photos of their crew holding up a tape measure between the vent and panel, to prove that the requirement was met. The Powerwall batteries require a Tesla Gateway. My install happened right when Tesla started selling solar and suddenly stopped fulfilling pre-existing external orders for Powerwalls and Gateways. (Sketchy...) Sol R Us worked with their Tesla sales rep to make sure that my Powerwalls and Gateway actually got delivered. The inspector had some issue with the roof vents, even though we had docs from the vent manufacturer. Sol R Us handled the inspector's outrageous request for a letter from Panasonic HQ in Japan (!!!) approving the installation. Sol R Us worked with their sales rep to get that letter from a Japanese division manager... and then the inspector wanted A SECOND ONE. Eventually, 5 months later, the inspector signed off on the permit without requiring any changes to the roof work, which of course had always been fine. Sol R Us handled the entire process of PG&E approval, net metering, and we're currently in process for the SGIP rebate. And they did all this with a smile. My job must've been a horror story, with so much extra work they couldn't have anticipated. They never made me feel like anything other than a valued customer. Sol R Us was a pleasure to work with, and did whatever it took to make my job a total success. I highly recommend them.

Solid 5-star experience in every step of the process from initial consultation, installation, down to final inspection. Consultation was done over the phone. Daniel was genuine, patient, and gave me as much time as I needed to ask all of my questions and address my concerns. The conversation was incredibly easy, pleasant, and informative. No pressure whatsoever. Daniel gave me the space to tell them what I want to get accomplished. By the end of the conversation, we came up with a plan that I was super pleased with and the quote was very competitive. I decided right then to go forward drafting a contract. It took about a month for the contract to arrive. Everything in the contract matched what we had previously discussed, which made signing it a breeze. After about a week, Chris, the owner, came for a site inspection to make sure the roof is in good condition and that the plan can be executed smoothly. Chris was knowledgeable and super chilled. Installation took place a month after. On the day of the installation, a team of 5-7 members arrived promptly. Everyone was wearing masks and practicing social distancing. I was most impressed with the coordination among the team members. The installation took only about four hours from start to finish. Eddie offered to paint the conduit to match the exterior wall. Once the system is installed, Daniel stopped by to inspect the work and to check if I had any questions. They had to complete the sub panel upgrade the following day, which was completely ok by me, given how busy they were toward the end of the year. Colby, the electrician, who did our sub panel upgrade was meticulous, patient, and thorough. He even came the day before to look over our system. During the upgrade, he found an existing wiring that was not up to code and just took care of it. Chris, the owner, stopped by to finalize and inspect everything. On the day of the inspection, the team showed up promptly again, look over everything once more to make sure inspection would go smoothly. The actual inspection took less than five minutes and the system passed the inspection. From that point on, Daniel facilitated the net metering application with the power company, the process of which took about three weeks. I have the system up running for about two weeks now and we have had some rain during this time, no roof issues so far, which was one of my major concerns at first. I decided to go with Sol-R-Us and I could not be happier with this decision. Everyone on the team was professional, respectful, and just amazing. The California Solar Consumer Protection Guide recommends getting at least three bids. I highly recommend Sol-R-Us to be included in one of your three.

I found Sol R Us Electrical Engineering on Yelp and initially got in touch with their Energy Consultant, Daniel, who thoroughly explained how their company did business as well as their quality products and customer service. It was very refreshing to speak with someone who was personable, knowledgeable and transparent in explaining how solar works and also answering all my questions. More importantly, there was definitely no hard sell, just honest advice from a solar professional who I felt was looking after his customers' best interests. With that being said, I did my research online and interviewed and obtained quotes from multiple solar companies based in my local area before making a final decision. After comparing the quotes, I came to the conclusion that Sol R Us definitely had the best product, best price and best customer service out of all the solar companies I had contacted so I ultimately decided to choose them for my solar project. Last week, I had my Panasonic solar panels (with Enphase micro-inverters) and a new electrical sub-panel installed and I have to say the installation team (Eddie, Colby and the owner, Chris) did an awesome job. They went above and beyond because I had an issue with a broken circuit breaker due to excessive power consumption and to remediate this, they ended up installing a brand new electrical line in my back yard completely free of charge which was truly an unexpected bonus! I had my solar panels installed in July. I’m very happy with the entire process from initial contact to installation and all the way through city inspection and getting PGE permission to operate (all handled by Sol R Us). Daniel was very patient and super responsive to my questions and requests all throughout. After comparing their proposal and speaking to several of their references, I decided to pick them out of a short list of 4 solar installation companies. It was an excellent decision as the installation went smoothly and Daniel always kept me informed of the progress. Eddie and his installation team were very professional. Chris was there as well, and informed me that he found some unrelated issue with a flashing on my roof (he showed me the picture he took) and just went ahead and corrected it. During this Covid period, the crew was very respectful of social distancing and wearing masks when interacting with me while working on my property. I highly recommend speaking to them if you are considering solar.

Our first contact was with Daniel, who immediately put us at ease. There was no hype or pressure to buy. He just described what Sol R Us had to offer – high quality panels with an unbeatable warranty at a very good price. His crew also went above and beyond, installing bird netting around the panels and gutter guards in front. I did not expect the panels to also look beautiful, but they do! In summary, our experience with Sol R Us has been entirely positive and stress free. They’re a model business, and we’re so fortunate to have found them.

We did a lot of due diligence in choosing a company to install our solar and preferred to go with someone local. I wish all businesses operated similar to Sol R Us! The front desk receptionist was very detailed and professional in setting up an appointment with their sales team. They got back to me same day and were very flexible to fit into my schedule. The moment Daniel (the salesperson) walked into our home, my gut had a very good feeling, as his genuine personality and ability to explain the entire solar process in layman's terms was very comforting. I never got the impression of being pressured into moving forward and going with their firm. Daniel was happy to answer all of our questions and was always responsive to emails, calls, and texts, no matter how busy they were. He made us feel like we were the top priority. We decided to pull the trigger, as it was almost a no brainer given the quality of panels and competitive pricing. Eddie and his team came to our home on time, as scheduled, and finished the entire project installing panels as promised on the same day! Eddie and his team are very efficient and the finish of the installation were beyond my expectations. The panels looked magnificent and did not even notice the conduit running down the side of our home. Every employee with Sol R Us was professional, courteous, informative, and timely. Myself and two other neighbors had most of the installation completed on the first day, with a start up testing on the following day. We all had enlisted bids from several different companies each, but none could provide a more competitive price than Sol R Us. Highly recommended.

The people at Sol R Us are amazing. Quiet, professional attitude and instant responses throughout. Very "soft" selling by Daniel, amazing one-day installation by Eddy and his crew, and a "can do" attitude from the owners to the receptionists. Killer pricing, plus we were pleasantly surprised they handled *everything* from dealing with the city and PG&E, right down to removing every scrap of paper and packing. I'd never know they had been there if it weren't for the electric meter turning backwards. Highly, highly recommended!

For someone who is not technical, this company has taken me by the hand and walked me through every stage of the operation. Really impressed by their documentation. Eddie and Joel did a great job placing the panels on the roof and connecting them to the box in the garage. Everyone involved was always there on time and did such a clean and tidy job. The panels look wonderful and the box in the garage looks very neat. I can’t praise them highly enough and I feel very happy that Daniel has been there for me and answers all my questions immediately! Best thing is that it cost far less than I expected. What a great Christmas gift to myself!

Daniel is extremely experienced , hardworking, on time with what he says, and very friendly. He came over many many times to walk me the process to help me out to complete the process. If I could not do something due to the paperwork I would call Daniel to come over and help me even it was at 8:00pm, he never told me no. The installation went fantastic. Eddie was unbelievable and caring. I am very pleased with the performance of Eddie and his crew. The system looks wonderful, its one beautiful array of top tier Panasonic panels with bird netting that makes the system look amazing! I had my solar system installed a few weeks ago and it looks great. Eddie and his crew were the installers. Eddie did a fantastic job with the installation, he met with me before the install and we talked figuring out the best method for the install. He made sure I was happy with it. It turns out, my main panel outside didn't have anymore room for additional amperage, so the system would need to go in the sub panel. Eddie was able to go the extra mile and route back from the sub panel to the outside, so the inverter could be mounted outside. I checked in the attic after the install and noticed they used conduit and attached it nicely to the studs. Quality work all around. They were able to do the whole job in one day and cleaned up nicely before they left. Daniel was my sales rep. I am someone who likes to heavily research and Daniel was responsive every step of the way. I would text him when I had a question and he would get back to me right away, if he didn't know the answer he wouldn't make something up. Instead he was honest and said he would find out as soon as he got into work the next day and he would respond to me that next morning. I met with other installers as well and I felt other installers were lying to try to make their product look better. One installer said if I want the full tax rebate this year you need to make a decision this week, basically trying to rush me into signing with them. Daniel was not like that at all. He always ended with take your time, we want to be sure you are happy with your decision and make sure it is right for you. It took me quite a while to decide and they got it installed well before the new year. I also talked to another installer who said the panasonic panels and the enphase inverters are not as safe as his ones, since enphase uses microinverters and his system uses string. I researched and found the reverse was true. The string system is actually less safe since all the power is going through the same cable and the micro inverters are split up between each inverter, thus making the enphase micro inverters safer and better. Overall I felt Sol R Us was not only the most professional company, but they also gave me the best deal. I would highly recommend them to anyone considering going Solar.

Great team of people. Can‘t be happier with my solar install. I was in the market for two months before I got in contact with Daniel from Sol R Us. I told him specifics of the system I need and he provided me the quote on the very same day. It was the lowest of other quotes I received for the same system. Chris visited my home and explained the system design and installation process. Finally, the actual system install was done by Eddie- great guy with great amount of knowledge. He explained the installation process before his team started working on my roof and answered all my technical questions about roof mounting, monitoring etc. They also installed bird netting on my system which I think is a must for every solar system and looks nice as well. System was installed and inspected in two weeks after signing the contract. PGE took two weeks to approve NEM application. Entire process was completed in four weeks. I love the fact that people I am talking to are the ones actually working on my project and not the subcontractors. I definitely recommend Sol R Us team to anyone who is considering solar.

Simply put, if you are considering solar, go with this company. I met with 5 different solar companies and Sol R Us impressed me from the start. I first met with Chris and Daniel. Daniel was my sales rep who was great to work with throughout the entire process. Daniel was always responsive (never more than 30 minutes to hear back from him) and worked hard and fast to answer my questions. I felt supported throughout the entire process. Chris was the most knowledgeable person of the all companies I met with. He was honest and straight forward in explaining the sizing of my system and the pros and cons of different panel options. Following my meeting with Chris and Daniel, I met with Eddie, who ultimately led our install too. Eddie was great. We walked through the install plan and on install day he and the team did a great job and finished installing 26 panels in about 7 hours. They even removed some old water heater panels from the previous owner of our home. Also, Sol R Us coordinated all of the inspections and even reached out to a plumber to install an automatic shut off valve for our gas (requirement by the town of Danville). The town inspector even said he's never seen that level of service from a solar company. Finally, I'm very happy with the price I paid for the system. Overall, I can't say enough about the positive experience working with Sol R Us. The service, price, quality of their work, and overall experience with the company are all reasons that make me recommend them if you are thinking about installing solar!

Chris and Daniel gave a great presentation without being pushy. Their price was competitive and the terms were fair. The contract was exactly as described, unlike another top rated company we considered.

Daniel reviewed the proposal, and was quick to make updates. Our roof is a bit complicated, but Eddie and his team were able to get 19 panels in place in one day, with the system inspected, up and running the next day. Competitive price, 25 year warranty. Highly recommended.
