A scam company

I’m a 76 year old widow and they lied about everything. I now have a $78, 000 loan. My monthly bill is over $500.00 a month, should be $230.00 at the most. My system is not working…I’ve tried calling, emailing and writing and nothing. I need help and there is no one out there to help. I was hoping the Attorney General of Colorado’s office would help but NOOOO.

Let me begin by saying that this company doesn't understand anything called "Customer Services." After I sent them my roof design, they returned with a design of the solar panels' layout. I approved it. On the day of the installation, their installers found out that there was a big discrepancy in the layout design. For example, they designed to install nine panels on one area of the roof, and it can only fit four panels. Their installers tried to explain the problem to the people in charge, and no one understood what the problem was. I had to reach out to a VP on the East Coast. They re-designed and installed it. Here comes the serious problem. One month after installation, they still can't send a person from their company to host an inspection. I kept texting and calling them to schedule one. They kept coming back with some nonsense excuses. Up to this point, there are still no inspection appointment and no words from anything about inspection. This is the worst after-sales service I have ever experienced in my life.

Customer service

Apparently this company 'no longer services our area' the area that they came into and installed systems with a 25 year warranty that THEY were to uphold. My friend has half of her panels not working and we can't get the company to honor their contract, answer their phones or emails. All of this after the sales rep flat out lied to four of us on multiple occasions and then stopped responding to any calls and emails. I was told 3 months later that he had left the company.

Worst Customer Service Ever

We are in Grand Junction Colorado. Since our system was installed in November 2024, we have not seen any significant savings because our system is not fully working. We have a total of 16 panels installed and only half of them (8) are working. The sales person no longer works with Skyline Solar. We were told by the sales person before he left the company that someone would come to our home to explain how the Solar Edge app works. This never happened. We assumed our solar system was operating correctly since the last worker at our home stated our solar system was up and running. After several months we still have not seen any savings, come to find out only 8 of the 16 panels are not working. We have contacted Skyline Solar, their response was, we unfortunately are not servicing your area, and supplied some email links for us to find someone ourselves. This is not the kind of customer service we believed we would receive for Skyline Solar who was able to have a salesman and an installation team show up and complete the install, but not support their product. We have opened up several support tickets per the request of Skyline Solar, and as of today we have not had anyone help us out yet. We have also reached out to Solar Edge who said that Skyline Solar needs to have someone come out and check and repair our system. This is not Solar Edge's responsibility they stated. They said the installer needs to fix this. Our system is still under warranty and per Skyline Solar guidelines, the repairing company must be Solar Edge certified to maintain the warranty coverage. We are not able to locate a Solar Edge Certified company to come to check our system out. We don't want to have our warranty voided by having a non-certified solar company do any repairs to this system. Skyline Solar needs to do what is right and support the warranty/ product. PLEASE HELP US. This is a below one Star at this time.

I would not go with this company! The salesman told us that we would get a $10,000 back with taxes and we just give it to the finance company and our payment would not go up. He stated we would probably get get it with in 2 year span. He was wrong! It is a non refundable credit which means we get credit but it is not a refundable where we would get $10,000 back. I called and told the finance company they told me I had to call a lady at Skyline. I called and left a message and she sent my husband information on taxes. I called her back left another message telling her I didn’t need information on taxes that I had already talked to a tax expert that explained things correctly unlike her salesman who lied to us. I wanted to know how she was going to make it right. I still haven’t heard back so I’m guessing we are just stuck and our payment will now raise. Never go with this company! I would give no stars if allowed!

What’s the point?

I had spoken at lengths before agreeing to get solar and was told multiple times that the panels I’m getting would more than cover the energy I use. That was absolutely false, I’ve had my panels for about 18 months now and they have covered my electric bill TWICE. They say they are working properly and everything looks perfect. When I ask what the point of them is, if I’m still paying electric on top of it, I was told “to ease the financial burden.” I’m literally paying twice as much as I used to… they don’t care about customers or helping anyone. Beware before you buy

Skyline solar was a good company to start with. But after the system was turned on. I got an electronic bill that was double any bill I got before. Come to find out. They had been receiving warnings that the systems grounds was not working. So not only was the system making power and driving it into the ground. It was also pulling power from the grid and sending it into the ground cause it was never programed correctly. They have refused to compensate me for the wasted power it was pulling from the grid. Cause the system was never working right. This put me past there 120 day Guarantee. I had already made 3 payments beforeit was working right. They only paid for one. I will never recommend this company. Clearly they don't give a damn about there customers.

Waiting

Everything started off great. Then the problems. Oops here, oh its a new guy there, oh that person yeah you got me now ill fix everything. Well it's not working yet. The follow up is terrible. Even when I'm trying to refer people as I was trying to do in the beginning. 4 months now not working yet. Come on you have my house as a service on your website COME FINISH THE JOB

Worst Company I have ever dealt with avoid this Company

Started out with promises from salesman that evidently were never meant to be fulfilled. The price we agreed to was supposed to include a new interior panel updated from our current Federal Pacific panel. Skyline had 3 different electricians that told me the panel was unsafe and not up to code, also 3 electricians and the electrical inspector told me it was not safe, I guess Skyline doesn't care about their clients safety. We never would have signed for the $ 45,000.00 dollar cost if that promise was not made. They took advantage of us from the get go as we are senior citizens and still believe in a persons word. They also cut 3 irrigation lines and supposedly fixed them. I had one leaking so bad they dug it up again and sent a man out to fix it again. He couldn't fix it so I had a guy come and help me fix it. Makes me wonder if the others are fixed correctly. They also cut a 220 line when trenching, also wonder if that's fixed correctly. The office people & project manager has been totally rude and unwilling to even listen to our concerns. I asked to speak to their supervisors at least 6 times and none of them ever called back. It has cost my wife and I over $3000.00 just to get their mess ups and our system safe, The mental anguish has also been very difficult to deal with. We are both retired and on a fixed income and are trying to figure out how to pay for these extra cost and the 45K plus for the solar. I am truly sorry I ever called Skyline Solar, and would never recommend them ever. The only pleasant part was working with their installars and one office person named Amanda who all seemed to try to help us . Also we have asked for an itemized invoice before installation and after, Brenda our Project manager said she would work on it, but we still have not received anything from her, and probably never will. I can't believe Skylines owners / supervisors let this kind of terrible service go on.

Follow up Service is extremely poor! BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!

Our system was installed with an outdated modem (3G) when it was installed in October 2019. As a result, we have no way to verify whether our system is functioning. Grand Valley Power does not have any way to inform you if, in fact, they are "purchasing" power from your system. I have contacted Skyline Solar to help get a new modem installed, to the tune of around $900. They were able to tell how much it would cost, approximately, but have taken no action to get it installed, despite my repeated calls & messages. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!

**Avoid Skyline Solar** Looking back, we wish we had trusted the reviews on the BBB and avoided using Skyline Solar. This Company is deceptive and lacks integrity, timeliness, and proper communication. Skyline's sales team (Nick) and engineering staff completely over sold the system and then under delivered on their promises. Here are the facts (which will be undisputed by Skyline) from start to finish. We were sold on a system that would over produce in the summer months to pay for our usage during the winter here in Iowa. The chart in their presentation even showed it! Turns out the chart was not of our usage but just a generic model. Skyline never graphed our usage and assumed that the chart would cover, they were wrong. We use approx. 1,900 kWh during our peak summer months and the chart showed us only using 1,400 kWh. They also committed to 99% coverage with the system (it is on their proposal), we have been paying Mid-American well over $100+ every month since the system has been turned on in June of 2022 and have yet to bank one iota of energy for winter. Turns out that they took some averages of our billing (instead of graphing our usage) and promised during the sales pitch that the system would cover. The difference, which I graphed and demonstrated to them later, shorted us a significant amount of kWh for the year. Mind you that these people are supposed to be the experts! Contract was terrible (please read it). Coming from a contracts background for work, it is full of language that is not good for you as the consumer and so we had to negotiate terms. We signed in October 2021. They promise to have the system up and running in 120 days, it wasn't operational till 8 months later. The team installing was brand new and knew very little of what they were doing. The panel installation looked horrible (which I made them fix), a man fell through the ceiling of my brand-new garage and the foreman almost dug a hole through live power lines (had I not been there to stop him). As other reviews have noted, they went radio silent after install. No communication, no calls, nothing. As the consumer, I had to constantly probe them as to why the system was not operational. After a list of excuses, Skyline finally stepped up and finished their part and got the system turned on. We could tell there was a problem right away and that it was not meeting the expectations set out by Nick on their sales team. Immediately, they tried to blame us and our usage as the problem, but I demonstrated through billing that we were using less than in 2021 and should be over producing per their chart. Then they tried blaming us for a lack of accurate data on our billing. We quick showed them (via an accurate chart) that it was their engineering team who took liberties and did not graph out our usage and instead used an average that shorted us. They never stepped up and took responsibility for their issues and that lack of integrity it what bothers us the most. We spent the next 4 months trying to get them to fix the system and make it right, but they ultimately refused and offered only to change out some light bulbs and the thermostat (which was already brand new) as a "fix" to the problem. They refused to upgrade the panels to meet their 99% expectation and would not give us a partial refund either. We will ultimately spend $1000's of dollars more now over the life of this system and wish that we had never contracted with Skyline Solar.

HORRIABLE as soon as we signed paperwork!!

We where told that we would no longer have an electricity bill, we would be able to be self sufficient with our solar and back up battery. It all sounded great and the sales guy Nick was amazing until we signed paperwork, then Nick was non existent. a month or so after we signed paperwork we heard that they would be dropping off equipment which they did. After that a few days later an installer came and installed the panels on our roof. Seemed like everything was going to go smoothly. The electrician can out to hook everything up and told me he had never done a battery back up before. My husband is an electrician so I gave him some grace, plus it was the week of Christmas, and he was not sent all of the equipment so he had to drive a few states away and get our battery. Long VERY long story short the system way put on my house the end of Christmas, after 4 failed inspections, with MONTHS in-between each inspection. No one calling me back from the solar company. Everyone saying it was someone else's fault my system was not up and running. I was required to pay both my electricity bill (they had to pay this eventually) and the solar bill even though my solar was not up and running. I even had the loan company involved, Skyline solar lied to the loan company stating my system was up and running when they hadn't even passed an inspection so they didn't have to pay my solar bill. FINALLY the system was running in MAY 5 months later. I would love to say I am happy with my solar and the pain of getting this system is over but its not. They LIED I still have an electricity bill when down slightly, total I pay well OVER what I paid for just electricity. My consumption is over what my panels produce and I am not using anymore then I did last year or the year before . Even in there video on the website he says that you will replace your electricity bill for your solar bill. Because they didn't get the system up and running before the end of the year I have to wait another year to get the tax credit, which to be honest I will not hold my breath on getting with all the other lies from this company. I have tried to call and gotten no response just like normal. the Loan company even stated that they will no longer be working with Skyline solar due to the way they treat customers. I did get a call from Nick a few months ago doing a follow up call ask how much we LOVE our system when I told him all the troubles he told me he would call me back. Never happened and I will not hold my breath. I wish I could tell them to come get this crap off my house and get rid of the over $40,000 MISTAKE I am now stuck with. Please learn from my mistake DON'T get scammed by Skyline solar!!

Ongoing unresolved issues

We had a solar system installed by Skyline Solar in March of 2020. I have spent many hours adding factual reviews ( negative reviews) about Skyline Solar. We have posted many reviews through the BBB, have filed a complaint with the State Attorney's office , for the fraud this company has done in our case. Skyline Solar not only breached our sales contract by not installing the solar panels or inverters that the contract states they were going to install, but now we have 1 to 2 sq foot holes in our garage roof, where snow and moisture can now come in. We have emailed ,text message,made repeated phone calls to the owner,Scott K of this company, to customer service representatives Latoya, Alex the Project manager, fo 22 months asking for resolution to our 22 month battle with these panels. The Solar panels do not provide what was promised to us,when they sold us this system. Skyline Solar paid our utility electric bill for about 4 months after the panels were installed. We asked over and over, why are we not banking any energy, we still have a utility bill, month after month. We asked to have our meter checked, our system checked over and over. Do your research on Amy company you hire, read reviews. Why this company has a 3 or 4 point rating is puzzling to me. They offer a 75% overage on a porposal, and tell people you will have a 20.00 electric bill many months of the throughout the year, and bank energy use for higher useage months? The math does not add up, you need to have a system built that is over 100% of your usage to bank any extra energy. This company has been a fraud from the beginning in our case. The owner does very little to resolve problems, or get you the correct system you were promised at the start of the project. They have no interest in taking care of their customers. They should have NEVER installed roof solar panels on our roof, the pitch/ angle and the number of panels we need, can not be supported on our roof. We paid over 34,000.00 for our solar system, and it does nothing for us, we had a 200.00 electric bill last month, and a 197.00 solar panel payment. We would be much better off not having this system, our total utility payment would not be 400.00 a month. A local Solar specialist quoted us a solar system that is 30%less than Skyline Solar and this includes over a 120% overage so we don't have a utility electric bill and would store extra energy on the high and extra hour sunlight months. Skyline Solar has ZERO integrity ,in my book, they say and write one thing and do things very differently. They need to come and get their panels, it would be cheaper for this company to do that then us take legal action and sue them for 10x the amount, allowed by law in our state. Stay tuned, I will post updates as events happen. Hire a local company with many references, call people who have their products, and have had their system at least 2 years.

Worst company ever

This is the worst company I have ever worked with. They basically steal your money and go. We got solar panels from them two years ago and they haven’t worked since. They never answer the phone and they never call back. Don’t ever use this company or you will get shit solar panels and lose all your money. This company doesn’t even deserve 1 star…..

Never followed up

Skyline Solar promised us new led lights and a smart thermostat. This was in our contract. However, they never showed up and never followed up on our emails and phone calls. If I could go back, I would’ve went through a different company!

No Communication!!!

I had a Skyline Solar system installed in Dec 2020. I have been trying to have someone from Skyline contact me about my system and the monitoring of it. I have made numerous phone calls and sent emails to no avail. Hopefully this review will be seen by someone in Management at Skyline Solar and a response will be made. This is by far the most unresponsive company that I have ever dealt with. This facet of their business has tainted the entire experience with them.

Don't listen to a word that SKYLINE SOLAR LLC tells you..

Skyline Solar is a company that prides themselves in ripping off the unsuspecting. Their computer generated presentation is the very first part of selling you on their scam with false information of how you save on energy costs by purchasing a solar powered system, then adding on a smart thermostat and LED bulbs that will offset your energy production. It's a scam and don't fall for it. My biggest problem is that a very inexperienced employee made a bid on my house and didn't do so correclty. As a direct result of trusting them, I was led in to believing that I was purchashing a solar system that will power my entire home which in fact is the direct opposite of what is actually happening. I have been trying to get this problem resolved for the past 16 months but all I am receiving from skyline solar are fake attempts at fixing my issue and straight up LIES... They are liars and are doing absolutely nothing to fix the problem. I was told by their Project Manager that if I spend more money, then they can get the system working as originally promised. Basically, According to Blackhills Energy Renewable energy Manager, I was sold a system that will never power my home in the way that I was promised. I believe that skyline solar knew exactly what they were selling me but was only interested in making a profit and didn't care what they sold me. And now, all I get is the run around with no intentions on fixing the problem.The only way to get this issued resolved is to take them to court and have a judge order them to fix the problem..DO NOT TRUST SKYLINE SOLAR BECAUSE THEY ARE LIARS...

Omg never calls back

Ok when Skyline cane to our Home we liked the idea of saving some cash and not giving to the power company so we were told by our salesman that we would have a 13.00 bill from them, we have had problems now we are paying 235 per month for both ave bill was 145 for the year I have asked month after month to fix this problem no call so I call the salesperson he says file with the BBB they have paid us back some of the Bills back but every month I have to call and they never call back. It's a pain in the butt doing the same thing I ask when is it getting fixed I'm afraid when winter comes we will be paying double because it's not fixed correct.Talk to the salesman that sold this to us and he say ill forward it. I'm sorry but I really feel like this is a Ripoff and lies broader line fraudulent. Please be Alerted to all this.

Big mistake going with this company

Do not let this company sucker you in with all their lies like I allowed them to. They lured me in by of course saying I would save money by switching to solar. Who doesn’t wanna save money? Then they said I would get $6,000 tax credit that I could 1) keep and use for what ever I want but my monthly payment would increase roughly $30 a month or 2) pay the $6000 toward the panels and keep the same low monthly payment. Went and did my taxes and they laughed at us saying “ I’m so sorry but it’s not true the tax credit only applies if you owe taxes and to feel bad we’re not the only ones” well the sales guy was Didnt not mention any of that only that we were guaranteed to get the $6000. So now I have these panelS that he said would be enough to cover 120% of my monthly usage I told the guy I have only lived here for a few months I don’t have any data built up and he said that fine they would use my neighbors usage. He then tells me i only need 10 panels I said ok why do I only need 10 but my neighbors all have 25+ panels and he told me that’s because I’m getting newer stronger panels. Come to find out I wouldMy have been approved to get the amount of panels need to supply my house So they said I need 10 just make the sale. So then they come to install I have security cameras showing them break my outside security light and try to hide it, they cut a hole in my out side wall for a meter that they didn’t even use now there is an eye sore of a hole in my wall they also cut a my masonry bricks on my house to run a pipe that they didn’t use. I offered the installers my restroom to use if they need to but nope they instead decided to piss in my yard while my kids had been running in and out of the house playing thank god they didn’t see it. They call or I call to make appointment for them to come fix things or to install the light they will give me a day and time so I take time off work to meet them and they don’t show up with out a call saying they weren’t coming. I wasted roughly about a week of work all together waiting on them with a no show. So now I’m still paying $70-$110 to the electric company plus the $65 for the panels which is now going to increase because I didn’t get the tax credit they promised I’d get.

Total Misrepresentation,

Because it was represented that we would get the 30% renewable energy credit and keep payments down, made sense for two seniors on a fixed income to lower utility costs. No One gets the monies in hand as represented no matter what your tax liability. That is why in process of filing complaint with CO AG office and contacting BBB, in American Fork, UT, along with seeking legal council.

System not producing as promised

It's just a sales company trying to get your money
