Overview of ReVision Energy
Since 2003, Maine-based ReVision Energy has installed more than 15,000 solar energy systems throughout New England. Committed to excellence and leading our communities to a cleaner, more just future, ReVision operates as an employee-owned B Corporation. To ensure maximum performance and reliability in a relatively harsh climate, each solar energy system is designed by ReVision Energy's in-house engineers and installed by the company's full-service team of licensed and certified solar technicians. Our customer service team ensures our projects run efficiently for their lifetime and are on call 24-7 to help customers with any issues that arise. Our mission is to Make Life Better by building our just and equitable electric future. Today ReVision Energy operates out of five locations in Maine, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire, with the long-term goal of converting each location into a "de-carbonization" facility that exemplifies the societal transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy. With 450 employees as of July 2023, ReVision Energy has become the leading solar company in northern New England by delivering legendary customer service and the highest quality, most cost-effective solar energy systems available in the marketplace. As part of their unremitting commitment to creating positive social change, the Company's managing partners continue to re-invest annual profits into zero up-front cost solar energy systems for non-profits through its pioneering approach to power purchase agreements, thereby bringing long-term economic and environmental sustainability to schools, municipalities and 501 C 3 organizations that would not otherwise be able to acquire solar energy.

Great service, problem solving, and information
ReVision provided amazing service from the first phone call through to installation of our air source heat pumps and PV system. We had a complicated arrangement (2 buildings which were initially on separate systems) with a plethora of options to figure it all out. Everyone at Revision was extremely patient and helpful throughout the process. And the installers braved through treacherous weather to get the system installed on time. I've limited my rating to 4 stars because the production of our system is substantially limited by some nearby trees - the extent of this limitation should have been modeled in advance, but instead it was mentioned as an afterthought, as if the affect would be minor. Now that we're invested, we have to figure out how to address the problem, rather than having the opportunity to consider it adequately in advance. Overall though, a very friendly professional operation, and I love that the company is local and employee-owned.

My Solar Project
In general, I am very happy. Revision Energy is a great company to have onsite. They are fast, efficient, courteous, and clean up after themselves. :) I probably should have done more research on how much energy my heat pump would use, but I am happy with how effective it is. I am disappointed that CMP is not recording that my array is generating as much energy as my inverter says it is. The discrepancy is 30%, which is huge. I was so downcast to have to actually pay an electric bill, when I only charge my EV twice/month. I feel a bit abandoned now that the project is over, with not having heard anything from Revision Energy since spending a small fortune with them. I will have to call them up to find out why the CMP numbers are so off.

We did not have enough Southern exposure to support a solar PV system, but we do have enough to support a solar thermal system. We have a wood pellet boiler and it doesn't run from May to October.

Revision Energy Home PV Installation
Did a great job on the proposal and installation. I would certainly use them again. They were a bit slow on communication between the initial contract signing and installation - mostly due to an influx of lots of installations due to a electric co-op about to reach its solar production cap.

Our system is a WOW!
It has been a treat to work with the Revision from start to finish. The analysis of our energy needs/possibilities was helpful and accurate, crews were professional, and the energy savings have been amazing. We are still struggling a bit with the hot water heat pump and seem to run out of hot water at night. Otherwise, we have been thrilled.

Pleasantly surprised
We had a very good experience with Revision from start to finish. From the design of the system which was revised several times, to walking us through the rebate process. Courteous and respectful crews showed up and did an excellent installation on time, and went above and beyond what was expected.I highly recommend Revision Energy.

PV and hot water
We had a PV system installed in 2009 and then a hot water system in 2014. Both work fine. The hot water is not as hot as our previous propane fired system in the winter time. I have talked with ReVision Energy about adjusting the gauge. Other than that, the system provides enough solar hot water for our needs 9 months out of the year.

Solar and Mini-Split Project
We contracts Revision Energy for a couple reasons. First we knew of them from The Common Ground Fair where I spoke to them and other solar installation companies and found their experiences placed them on top of my list. In addition good discussion during the sales cycle helped clinch the deal for RE. The only issue we have encountered is one mini-split did not come from the factory filled with enough coolant and we noticed this only a few months later when we needed AC. Calls to RE were handled however their approach was to trouble-shoot long distance rather than get in the truck and do it on-site. While realizing there are a limited number of staff and likely they were installing elsewhere, it took several calls to complain that the AC still did not work. Finally an installer came out and addressed the issue. Overall we are pleased with the system and our electric bills were low all year with the exception of Feb/Mar '15 when we used the heater heavily.

Good investment for the future.
I have given 4 stars instead of 5 because we have had our system only for a short period so I cannot answer, yet, for its longevity and whatnot. We purchased our solar hot H2O system along with a new wood pellet furnace to replace our ageing oil burner/forced hot water system. From beginning to present time ReVision has been simple to work with. We are very satisfied with the entire process. I can say that during the late spring months and through the past few summer months our hot H2O solar system has worked fine and has been the main source of our hot water. Our furnace is hardly ever running meaning that the sun is heating our water (which is the whole point, isn't it?). So far, well worth the money.
