Terrible communication and execution
This is PEG response to my poor review on their website. The city does not and it was communicated with them 3 week prior to installation that no city inspection was required. The city coordinated with AEP that no inspection was required. PEG should have had known this prior to installation and had the proper electrician on hand to approve the installation. This company seems to be in total disarray and lacking any type of customer service. Avoid them! Hi P Connor, We’re sorry for the frustration. The charger was installed two days ago, but it hasn’t been turned on yet because it needs to pass the city inspection first - we’re actively coordinating with the city on the date. Since you inquired through QMerit, all installers are verified for proper licensing and background checks. A licensed electrician will inspect the installation as part of the city process to ensure everything is safe and compliant. We appreciate your patience and are here to answer any questions while we get your charger fully operational. Thank you, PEG Energy Management

★☆☆☆☆ – Extremely Disappointed with PegEnergy I had a terrible experience with PegEnergy. As part of my solar installation agreement, they promised to pay off an existing loan as a condition of the sale. It’s been several months, and they still haven’t followed through. I’ve contacted them multiple times via email and phone, but I either get no response or vague excuses. This failure to honor their contract has left me paying interest on a loan that was supposed to be settled. It's caused significant financial stress and wasted hours of my time trying to get someone to take accountability. PegEnergy’s lack of communication, broken promises, and unprofessionalism are unacceptable. I strongly urge others to be cautious before signing any agreements with this company.

Terrible experience
I type this review after calling and leaving my 20th message to Peg Energy troubleshooting “team”. I Signed up to get Solar system installed through Peg Energy in June 2022. After delay after delay after delay and excuse after excuse after excuse, my system was finally installed and running the last few days of May 2024. Peg Energy has had the worst communication than any business I’ve ever dealt with. They did make the payments on the loan for the duration BUT It was never in a timely fashion and at times the payment was made months late. Now that I do have the solar system up and running for the last two months, What was promised and what was delivered are not the same. I ordered a system that was 17.2 kW but the system that I received produces less than half of what was designed and paid for. Peg Energy, like other vendors, suggest designing a system that’s 80% of your typical usage of electricity but I designed the system that was about 110% of my usage because I was going to get some equipment installed and wanted to make sure that was taken into consideration. Over the last two months, the system has produced about 50% of the electricity I use in my house, which means I pay more for electricity than I did before having solar If you take the loan payment into account and what my current electricity bill is. I have attempted to contact Peg Energy diligently over the last month, but I have yet to receive a phone call back from their troubleshooting department to figure out what the problem may be. I would not recommend Peg Energy to my worst enemy. I would see other vendors because the customer service culture Peg Energy is not existent.

I signed a contract with PEG in May 2023 to install 20 solar panels on my brand new home in San Antonio. My experience has been nothing short of atrocious. Their crew damaged my metal roof, gutters, and almost all of the solar panels while working the install. They dragged all of the panels (sun-side-down) up a ladder to get them on the roof, and then dragged them across the roof, leaving very visible scratches on both the panels and my roof. At the same time, their lackadaisical ladder placement left significant scratches and indentations on my gutters. The attached pictures show the scratches on the roof, the partially-completed nature of the job, and the scratching done to the solar panels. PEG acknowledged the damage but thus far has done little to fix it other than remove the damaged solar panels with an expectation of finishing the job at some point. They have thus far refused to allow me to simply exit the contract and receive a refund. They have been somewhat responsive to my communications, but progress has been very slow and I can never get a clear answer about what exactly they are going to do to resolve the situation. Financially, they have received over $11,000 from me for a job that I'm not sure will ever be completed. They've done over $20,000 in damage to my (otherwise) brand new metal roof. I've already replaced the damaged gutters on my own. Three and a half months into a job that should have taken less than a month, and I'm out $30,000+. Do not use this company.

Terrible Communication and Awful timelines
My experience has been an absolute miserable one. I signed up to get solar installed in November and it is now Aug 5th and my solar is still not turned on. To there credit they are sending checks to take care of the solar loan but the problem is they are never sent in a timely fashion and I always have to call begging for the checks. But the biggest issue I have with them is the terrible and I mean terrible communication and coordination they have. Communication has been an issue almost from the start of our contract. A constant stream of misinformation and poor planning has lead to mountains of stress for me and my wife. On multiple accessions I was asked to stay home so contractors can come in and work in my attic only to be told by the workers they don't need access to my home. Vice versa I had received calls at work asking me to give people access to my home when I was told they're only doing outside work. Due to COVID my wife works from home so coordinating turning off my power is a big deal, well not to PEG energy twice they told us they didn't need to shut off my power when they did. They worst was when I went on a work trip and 3 contractors from PEG energy showed up to my home unannounced and tried to guilt trip my wife into letting them in. When I spoke to Jessica at PEG energy she tried to guilt trip me into letting them in saying "Sir this will only delay the process more" not understanding why I wouldn't want 3 strangers in my home when just my wife was there. Richard the supposed supervisor called me later to apologize. When Richard took over I was promised more communication and correct information. That has turned out to be also wrong. On July 21 first I contact richard for an update on my account and after two weeks I caved and called to chase the answer myself on top of that I still haven't gotten my loan check for this month and will need to call again. Working with PEG energy has brought nothing but stress, both emotional and financial on my family. I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. I've been holding off on this review for 9 months in hopes something would change and it's only gotten worst. If you want solar pick any other company. If you have any other question please feel free to contact me.
Response from PEG Energy
Hi, Juan. Thank you for setting time aside to speak with us over the phone to resolve these issues. We realize this is an isolated and rare occurrence, for this reason we have issued out checks to take care of your solar payments until the system is inspected and approved for power on by CPS in San Antonio. At this point, you’ve benefited from 4 months free. We’ve taken care of your payments from May through August 2021 thus far. The goal of our call was to make sure we maintain a healthy relationship with you. We care about our client base and solar family. We will be assisting with monitoring service, maintenance, and support. We want to make sure we can perform our contractual duties and that you understand that we are here to help communities and community members. I’m sure you can understand that by reading our reviews. Unfortunately, this issue is out of our control, but we will continue to support you until your system is ready for power on and thereafter. Solar installation processes across the solar industry are relatively the same. We understand that most people only go solar once, and therefore do not have a comparison point. The process can be quick at times, and lengthy at times. Each home and jurisdiction is different. You are dealing with PEG Energy (Installer), HOA, City Regulation, and CPS Regulation. Depending on the timeline on each of these phases, determines the length of time before we can power on a system despite the installation being 100% completed. Again, this is not to our advantage in anyway as we are issuing out payments for each month. As for the communication issues, we have addressed these issues to the team and have since made major changes in minimizing any communication errors that may occur between PEG Energy, jurisdictions, and grid providers. We are confident you will be extremely happy with the performance of your system and look forward to powering your system in the near future! As always, feel free to contact our team for support at (956) 203-0669.
