This is y they have get no business, please reaserch them and on bbb they lie and trick people to get in contract to sew you if you back out once u notice the scam n they will harrass you for 5000 then 2200 for no installation no panels no work they only trick old people into contract!! Be aware!!

Beware of this company beware of a salesman named Tim and everyone else in that office. You will be lied to. They will try to manipulate the numbers in front of you but the numbers don’t make sense if you sign they will harass you until you get it done and force you into it by trying to force large fees on you if you don’t go ahead with it do the math 3% per year you will be paying more than $30 more after 10 years and $60 more after 20 . It doesn’t make sense. Be very careful if you sign a contract with them. They showed up at my house without even making an appointment and just started doing the work.

Hi my name is Ms. Mathis, I went solar with NYSS. My experience with this solar company and William was a great experience. The company was very professional, helpful, pleasant while I was going through this experience of getting solar from the company. I had solar from about a little over a year and I have experience a great decrease in my electric bill, which I was very happy in getting solar with NYSS company.

I worked with Sharif from NYSS. I’m glad he stopped by because not only did he help me, he was able to help my little brother in the Bronx and also my cousin in queens. I no longer have to worry about con Edison and their rate hikes as I was able to get solar at a much lower cost. I was able to convert my house to fully electric so I no longer have to pay for gas. The solar gives me enough power to both heat and cool my house. The process was so simple and quick, I just sat at home and waited for Sharif to handle everything for me. He was great and so was his crew.

I had solar panels installed by NYState Solar. Shortly after installation, my roof started leaking. My dining room and living room got destroyed by the leaks. Their crew came to my house a few times to do shady patchwork. Their manager, Michael Silva, claimed he didn't know who installed the panels, and the leak was not caused by them. However, I haven't had any issues prior. They did the most horrible patchwork. Everything is still leaking since installing solar panels with NY State Solar. No accountability at all.

After researching many solar companies, I decided to go with NY Solar — and I’m glad I did. From their account representative, Joseph Hawes, to the service crew and installation team, everyone was professional and met all of my expectations. Even when issues came up, they addressed them promptly. As you'll learn, there are many steps involved in the process before your panels are up and running. Throughout it all, NY Solar kept me informed and delivered everything on time, just as they promised. I highly recommend them to anyone considering going solar.

Nothing but headaches from the beginning. I’ve had blackout days of no solar recorded for days and weeks at times (I don't check the solar edge app all the time why would I have to if it worked) during peak time and I have lost out on banking. Anytime you call to get a question asked you are passed along or asked to leave your name and number and nothing happens. I paid cash for my panels, so I’ve donated to the cause. Avoid at all cost from my experience.

We were fortunate to work with Ramon Mariano with NY State Solar. Ramon was very nice, courteous and a true professional. He was extremely informative and took the time to answer several questions. Ramon explained everything thoroughly and there was no pressure whatsoever. The installation was efficiently and expeditiously completed as scheduled. Ramon followed-up every step of the way and we highly recommend him.

I know you are wary of new things. I was just like you. I asked a hundred questions and was happy with every answer. If you are lucky enough to have a representative of NYSS like Kareem Fadl you will be a new solar customer soon. Kareem was able to give me the technical information and statistics, but to explain it in terms that were easy to understand, which is so important when it comes to the savings, the rebates , the service and MOST importantly for Zero dollars down. I have heard all the no money deals throughout my life, I was a skeptic and you should be too, but sit down with a representative like Kareem or his team and let them answer every question. You don't have to take my word for it, do your work and see. Compare your electric bill with them, check out the reviews, ask for customer contacts, that was the final piece that sealed it for me, talk to someone IN YOUR community , that was a skeptic, just like you and I. I have had the pleasure to have Benjamin Prasert, a program manager for NY State Solar work with me with this life changing switch to solar panels. Initially, I was not interested in having solar panels- the thought of having a loan for 30 years and the interest rate could flucuate. This information I received from many other solar panel companies- not able to bank your extra energy etc,.. However, Ben was able to explain the process to me- with NYSS, the process was different with no impact on my credit, I am able to bank my extra energy as well as many other important factors that led my decision to use NYSS for my solar panels company. Benjamin effectively explained and answered all of my questions and was patient with me while I was in the process of making my decision. I give Benjamin a lot of credit as it was apparent he was compassionate about his job and is also a customer. I am confident I made the right decision. I will also like to add, the crew that installed the solar panels were awesome as well. The panels was up and installed in less than an eight hour work shift. I was very pleased.

Decided to bite the bullet and go for solar. My parents used NYSS and had a generally positive experience so I decided to give them a shot. My salesperson Dan is very accommodating and I am happy to be working with him. Solar is a pretty confusing beast and I tend to have a lot of questions which Dan answers to the best of his abilities, and if he doesn't know the answer he always lets me know he will research it (which I appreciate rather than just someone who pretends they do and gives me the wrong answer.) A few notes if you're interested in Solar: 1. NYSS has a 25 year rent to own lease program which is not a "true" financing option where you own the system outright day one. However, NYSERDA has a 15 year $25k true loan option if you plan to install a small system like mine where you own the system outright. Interest rates are low right now so that's nice. However, the loan only goes through once the system has been completed. I'm not entirely certain how that's going on NYSS's end (but Dan is looking into it for me.) 2. PSEG may not allow Islanding, which is where you isolate from the grid in case the grid goes down and run off a solar powered backup generator/backup. We're still trying to figure this out because I wanted a battery back up that charges off the solar system rather than charging off my credits on the grid (since if the battery depletes, it depletes until the grid goes back up. It can last for about a week.) I'm not entirely certain if this is something that PSEG won't allow (some locations do not allow it), or if NYSS doesn't currently do. Dan is also looking into this for me. Even if the two things above are unable to be done satisfactorily for me, it wouldn't be Dan's fault and I am already more than happy with how fast and easy all the permitting process has been. I'll update the review after everything has been completed but I don't foresee many issues.

Working with NY State Solar has been a great experience. The install team did a fine job installing my system and worked quickly. My Program Manager was William Leverett and it has been a wonderful experience. I had an older roof and was able to get a brand new roof with the program. I am highly satisfied with the service provided. Highly recommend.

I had solar panels installed by NYSS in January 2025. I couldn’t be more pleased with my decision to go with New York State Solar (NYSS). The sales representative Franklin Cusma was knowledgeable, customer focused, engaging, and answered all the questions my wife and I had regarding switching to solar and the process from start to finish. Franklin's overall demeanor and honesty dealing with us was the driving reason for deciding to proceed with NYSS. For both the roof inspection, and on the day of installation the team came promptly in the morning and worked professionally, they were courteous, installed the components neatly, and kept me informed of their progress until the end. From start to finish, Franklin and the NYSS team provided exceptional expertise and guidance, making the entire process getting solar seamless. Their knowledge and attention to detail stood out, and I am extremely pleased the we chose NYSS for our solar needs. I now look forward to my future energy savings.

There was one minor problem along the way, and Kyle spent the time and energy to required to make the installation perfect, which it was. If Kyle handles your project, you know it will be great.

After years of contemplating solar and after narrowing it down to 3 different companies it was my salesperson that finally made me comfortable enough to explain it all to me in detail where I decided now was the time to commit to getting it. Our home was recently built so my wife and I had some reservations about not getting solar. Before the kids, our electric bills were around $150. Ten years later they ballooned to well over $600 a month-and that was on a budget (yes we have a pool). Realizing we had to do something we called the highest rated solar installer in NYS, NY State Solar. Throughout the process, our facilitator, Ben Prasert, went above and beyond making everything seamless. Ben was able to hide the panels in such a way that it didn’t take away from the beauty of the home while maintaining an effective collection of solar energy. He came up with multiple designs and ideas to best meet our (many) needs. The entire process, including installation took two months and we couldn’t be more happier with the results. My family gives NY State Solar our highest recommendation.

I had my solar panels installed today. The crew that came said they would be here at 8 a.m. and showed up exactly on time. They were all very polite and very efficient. From start to finish took about 4 1/2 hours. Cleaned up everything and explained the whole system to my husband and I. Jessica was our salesperson. She was amazing. Explained the entire process to us step by step. Not pushy at all and gave us time to make up our minds. Answered all my crazy texts because I was a little worried about transitioning to solar. What can I say she is just awesome. I recommend this company 100% and now I am looking forward to saving money.

HI all, I recently went with NYSS to provide my solar “needs”. I would like to first , after reading the reviews from the other homeowners , comment on "my" experience.I would like to add my feedback here. Sales man: Jamie Scott was my salesman. Yes agreed ,nice and professional. However when the bill of the project is upwards of 60000, that's their job. My only concern is that AFTER contract signing he was very difficult to get a hold of and he didn't answer any of questions correctl. Price points: With my home, specifically, i was paying PSEG balanced billing of 186. Im paying Greensky with rebates 170. I have to pay PSEG 19 dollars for using the grid. I do not think they are competitive whatsoever. Clients please read your contract. They upcharged me a lumpsum of 20000 and labeled the section “overhead”. I was given an email stating some of the costs are proprietary and he is unable to disclose. Loan I did go with a loan. Greensky gave me a 5 year mortgage on the loan, others use 20 years. Inspection and Installation 1. I think the employees of NYSS are your average contractors. Although professional and were clean. 2. The outcome: 2 crooked panels, and one malfunctioning, nonoperating panel due to a 100 dollar plug called an optimizer. Yes they fixed the crooked panel. The optimizer not fixed due to manufacturing defects... I notified the team right away. Movement is slow as with anything you buy now post covid. A case was opened. I have offered to help expedite the case and speak with the manufacturer, rather I was asked to step down to minimize confusion. Later: I was given an update they are unable to service my request because of my "poor behaviour". At this time , they have chosen not to service my manufacturing defect needs going forward. Yes they fixed the crooked panel. The optimizer is not fixed due to manufacturing defects... Maintenance/Warranty: I can’t comment on this at this time, I did receive an email stating and I quote “warranty obligation to you is strictly regarding our workmanship warranty as defined in the agreement. The manufacturers 25 year warranties were assigned to you as the system owner. We have no obligation to perform manufacturer warranty work like this, we are only obligated to correct workmanship defects as defined and limited by the applicable section of the contract between us, which you should reference for full details. We do it because it’s typically easier for the customer and us but we are not obligated to. Note their usual manual states to call them with any support issues. At the end of the day. I have a malfunctional panel and support challenges to correct the faulty equipment along with a big loan from a bank. It's a little scary should something worse happen and the racks are loose, the inverter goes out or I have roof damage. I don't think it's easy to find contractors to come back and fix the damaged products at this point. Everyone is professional when they approach your home and the honeymoon period is in its prime. I was approached my 5 solar companies, they were all wonderful people When there is a problem with something in your home and stress builds about its safety and your family, its when interactions change. And READ your contract.

They gave me a good advice for Solar installation and got a good rate during the mortgage processing.
