NY State Solar

Beware of this company beware of a salesman named Tim and everyone else in that office. You will be lied to. They will try to manipulate the numbers in front of you but the numbers don’t make sense if you sign they will harass you until you get it done and force you into it by trying to force large fees on you if you don’t go ahead with it do the math 3% per year you will be paying more than $30 more after 10 years and $60 more after 20 . It doesn’t make sense. Be very careful if you sign a contract with them. They showed up at my house without even making an appointment and just started doing the work.

I worked with Sharif from NYSS. I’m glad he stopped by because not only did he help me, he was able to help my little brother in the Bronx and also my cousin in queens. I no longer have to worry about con Edison and their rate hikes as I was able to get solar at a much lower cost. I was able to convert my house to fully electric so I no longer have to pay for gas. The solar gives me enough power to both heat and cool my house. The process was so simple and quick, I just sat at home and waited for Sharif to handle everything for me. He was great and so was his crew.

I had solar panels installed by NYState Solar. Shortly after installation, my roof started leaking. My dining room and living room got destroyed by the leaks. Their crew came to my house a few times to do shady patchwork. Their manager, Michael Silva, claimed he didn't know who installed the panels, and the leak was not caused by them. However, I haven't had any issues prior. They did the most horrible patchwork. Everything is still leaking since installing solar panels with NY State Solar. No accountability at all.

After researching many solar companies, I decided to go with NY Solar — and I’m glad I did. From their account representative, Joseph Hawes, to the service crew and installation team, everyone was professional and met all of my expectations. Even when issues came up, they addressed them promptly. As you'll learn, there are many steps involved in the process before your panels are up and running. Throughout it all, NY Solar kept me informed and delivered everything on time, just as they promised. I highly recommend them to anyone considering going solar.

Nothing but headaches from the beginning. I’ve had blackout days of no solar recorded for days and weeks at times (I don't check the solar edge app all the time why would I have to if it worked) during peak time and I have lost out on banking. Anytime you call to get a question asked you are passed along or asked to leave your name and number and nothing happens. I paid cash for my panels, so I’ve donated to the cause. Avoid at all cost from my experience.

We were fortunate to work with Ramon Mariano with NY State Solar. Ramon was very nice, courteous and a true professional. He was extremely informative and took the time to answer several questions. Ramon explained everything thoroughly and there was no pressure whatsoever. The installation was efficiently and expeditiously completed as scheduled. I know you are wary of new things. I was just like you. I asked a hundred questions and was happy with every answer. If you are lucky enough to have a representative of NYSS like Kareem Fadl you will be a new solar customer soon. Kareem was able to give me the technical information and statistics, but to explain it in terms that were easy to understand, which is so important when it comes to the savings, the rebates , the service and MOST importantly for Zero dollars down. I have heard all the no money deals throughout my life, I was a skeptic and you should be too, but sit down with a representative like Kareem or his team and let them answer every question. You don't have to take my word for it, do your work and see. Compare your electric bill with them, check out the reviews, ask for customer contacts, that was the final piece that sealed it for me, talk to someone IN YOUR community , that was a skeptic, just like you and I.
