New York State Solar Farm

My initial interaction with NYSSF was fantastic --- good communication, support with loans, etc. The sales associated was literally calling me once or twice per day to move things along. Once things were signed and the project was underway, things went off the rails. Scheduling was a nightmare and communication was poor: I'd be given a date to expect and then hear nothing. I also had to play middleman with NYSSF and NYSEG and answer questions beyond my ken. I expected NYSSF to handle more here but the process was delayed weeks for this reason. In the end, it took way longer than I expected to have an installation complete. After installation, it turned out that my roof needed replacing (not their fault), BUT the review process was meant to rule out the possibility that the roof was in bad shape, including drone video. Whoever examined the video footage was not looking carefully because an independent contractor pointed out that the roof critically needed replacing. Trying to get the solar panels down and back up again has proved to be a second nightmare. NYSSF seemingly has no interest in communicating efficiently, asking reasonable questions (what sort of roof is it?), and performing quality work. So far, my panels have been removed with parts casually thrown about my yard but with no scheduled re-installation date after 3 months of waiting, patiently asking for updates and receiving promises that are re-negged on. I don't think this is a bad company but I think there are incompetent or possibly unmotivated employees who lack basic professionalism.

I've now had my solar panels from NYSSF for almost 9 years. I'm leasing the panels and they did a fantastic job explaining all the details when I first got them. Over the years the team at NYSSF has done a tremendous job of keeping on top of issues that have popped up. Sunpower monitors the panels remotely and can detect issues which can then be resolved without me even knowing. NYSSF has always helped me to get the issues resolved with the best people to do the job. I can't thank them enough for the years of service.

Working with SunPower was great, at every step they let us know what we should expect & were happy to answer any questions we had.

After a thorough review of current solar technology I decided to go with SunPower for my installation. They have been professional and helpful during the process. They handle everything related to the installation from start to finish, using their proprietary panels. Dave Rush was my salesman and provided support thru the entire process. The ap (Sunpower ?) doesn't always display the status of the solar system. I am hoping this is just a glitch in the ap, but that the system itself is working ok. It is discouraging to not be able to see the data all of the time.

Excellent output from the system; every month thus far have seen a surplus produced. Entire process from the salesman through the install was smooth and very professional. Would highly recommend SunPower and New York State Solar Farm.

Adding solar to our home through New York State Solar Farm was such an easy process. Rick came to our house and explained everything. Every time I called for another question he was quick to respond. Everything from the first sit-down with our sales person, to the day of installation, NY State Solar Farm was a good company to work with. Everything went well and most important I'm seeing panels in action and they are performing as promised. Can't beat the 25 year warranty either. Don't use any other company. Now that I drive around the area, I can tell which homes used Sun Power and which didn't. Some installs are so sloppy that I can't imagine being those home owners and having to look at sloppy and poorly laid out conduit on the roof. All our work was done on the inside of the house. And no leaks whatsoever.

The NYSSF team was professional from start to finish. Rick Irizarry was super knowledgeable, and everyone involved with the installation did a great job. NYSSF handled all the paperwork needed for permits and inspections.

The salesperson was professional. Put up with my continuous questions as I reviewed many proposals and solar panels. No issues when we redesigned the system at least twice. The paperwork process was very easy. They installed the system in between the 4 nor'easter snow storms we had here in NY. Great install; both in the attic and the exterior. Permit process and connection process could not have been easier. Final monitoring and configurations happened without a hitch.

NY State Solar Farm just completed an absolutely amazing job installing a solar array on one of the buildings on my old farm. From the beginning of the project every aspect of their teamwork was not only highly professional but they were all very easy to work with; there was never a hard sell (can't say that about certain other local solar companies), every member of the team seemed sincerely courteous (like they actually care about the customer, as well as what they do), to being incredibly patient with me when, at the 11th hour, I made some very big changes to the initial plan, and they handled my changes with grace, ease, and understanding. From the very straightforward, honest, and seemingly tireless initial outreach and salesmanship of Tate Lacey, to project manager Ryan Lane keeping on top of all the large and small details of our project, to office manager (?) Bianca Cauchi, who made all the transactions easy and fully explained anything I did not understand. But most especially I want to give a big shout out of appreciation to the installation crew. From lead installer John Broast, who was obviously great at what he does, but also a really good guy who made the job seem fun for his fellow workers. The fact that he kept the rest of the crew both on their toes working hard, but was never so serious that there was any whip-cracking going on is always the sign of a good boss. The other workers-Javier, Eron, and Joe-were all equally great at what they do as well as very nice and interesting people to have around the property for the 3 days it took for the installation (it would have been 2 days had a few key pieces been delivered on time, which was none of their fault). And they all explained every step of what they did along the way, which was much appreciated. If I sang their praises any more someone would think I was being paid to write this review!!! I am not, just pleased to have very good quality work done on a project that means a lot to me, and that i will live with for a long time. Thanks to all!!!

I have nothing but great things to say about my solar installation and its benefits. The company worked perfectly with me on my requests for the locations of equipment to keep a flawless exterior look to my house. The guys were clean and professional and had respect for my property, home, and family. I would highly recommend them to anybody seeking solar for their home.

We looked and had over 5 different companies come to the house to talk solar with us. Rick and his team at NYSSF were by far the best. Not just on price but also on integrity, answering any and all questions, up front about costs and the steps involved. We are almost done with our install and the guys have been fantastic. The day before install we had a bit of snow and the guys were able to clear and work around the rest as needed. We can't wait to get the okay to turn it on!!

System has only been installed for a couple weeks and it is dark early.....electic meter is still going backwards. Nyssf install team did a great install so I am very pleased with output and service

I could not be happier with the experience I had with New York State Solar Farm (NYSSF). I had looked into several options including doing my own installation and after reviewing multiple products and feedback from others on-line I decided that a professional installation with established company was the only way to go. Everybody I talked to at NYSSF was professional, attentive to my questions, and was concerned that I would pleased with my purchase. NYSSF processed my paperwork and the installation was rapid and timely. The crew had everything kitted before coming to my home and the installation went off without a hitch. I am confident that if any issue comes up with my system that they will be available to help me.

I was interested in solar panels for my house for a while. First I spoke with solar city I went through about 90% of the process and then got a second opinion from sun power. Thank God I went with them. My monthly bill was 60 dollars less, responded to my emails and calls and set me up with a system that would do the job. Solar city wanted to put panels everywhere. The guys at sun power said there was no reason for that. Installers were great done in 2 days and was picture perfect. Everything went as smooth as possible as I was told. The only delay was from central Hudson, but they couldn't do much to help. But we got it done.

Low pressure sales. They didn't harass me like a couple of the other companies that I got quotes from. Easy navigation of permits, tax credits, coordination with electric company, bank. If you're dragging your feet on solar because the process is intimidating, they take care of it all, you don't have to worry about it. Also, if you can't do a big downpayment up front, there are financing options. The loan we got was fast and reasonable and we essentially just changed from paying the electric company to paying the loan. Thorough pre-installation assessment of light exposure and structural load. Friendly, knowledgeable technicians. Install went well. Best warranty for the entire system that I could find.

We have only been up and running for about two weeks, but we are very happy with our solar. Everyone who worked with us was professional and reliable. Thanks so much to Rick, Joe and Ryan for always being available to answer questions along the way. We love the app which allows us to monitor our production daily.

We have been interested in Solar for years but we were always held back by the fact the we livce in the woods, surrounded by trees. Other solar companies promised pie in the sky results but Rick was honest and straightforward. He explained what NYSSF can do in our setting and why SunPower's superior technology and warranty made the most sense for us.Then, SunPower came out with a rebate and everything fit into place.

My wife and I found out about NYSSF when we attended a presentation by our local Solarize Saugerties team. We were impressed by Tate's presentation so we signed up for a personal home visit. Tate went over all aspects of the procedure and answered all our questions. Once we agreed to move ahead everyone we had contact with at NYSSF was polite, knowledgeable, helpful, hard-working, professional and friendly; both those we only spoke with by telephone and had email contact with and those who came to our home to do an assessment and then to actually do the installation. Very important to us, they answered questions and phone calls quickly, even on weekends and holidays! Also, when they said they would be here, they were here! The installation was completed on schedule and we are now happily generating electricity and watching as we look forward to getting off the grid. We are pleased with our selection of NYSSF and highly recommend them to anyone else who is thinking of going solar.

We love our home and wanted to go solar, and purchase our system, since we intend to be in our home for a long time to come! We researched many companies, big and small, local and far. After speaking with an engineer friend, whom also researched and went solar, we were directed to NY State solar farm for many reasons: 1. Quality of the panels used, 2. Customer service, 3. Locally run and family owned business, 4. Financing options, and 5. Knowledgeable and professional staff. All of the above were proven TRUE and I recommend NY state solar farm for all of the same reasons! We couldn't have had a better experience! And our electrical costs are significantly less!

When I seen the billboard on 44/55 for solar that basically said no money down and no installation fees I was skeptical. I passed a few times then I said let's call. Why not? I was pretty straight forward with Anthony and told him if this is a scam I'm not interested. He couldn't have been nicer. He came out the very next day and explained the whole process start to finish. Once I knew this was for real we signed up. The crew came over and they were a great group of guys! They did such a good job on the installation. Looks great and no leaks. I recommend NYSSF to everyone. It has saved me alot of money and a few times Central Hudson sent me a check! Best part about NYSSF that it's family owned and local.

Go Solar!!! I am not only "SAVING" money, but I also realized that in a world of uncertainty, it feels assuring to know that, my home will be able to not be affected by lack of electricity. I had a great experience with NY State Solar Farm - the team was friendly, professional, and quickly troubleshot any issues. They also make sure you get the tax forms you need to file for all of your applicable solar credits. The panels are working great and look great, and I like the interface for monitoring production. A+ for knowledgeable team and customer service. A+ for the technology.

I wanted to go solar for years,but was nervous and I also had to convince the hubby. Finally I called Sunpower.The best panels,the best guarantee,the best support and the best employees.from the first phone call to the install and even to yesterday with a "just checking in with you " phone call. Sunpower has been knowledgeable, friendly, supportive, and fun to work with.The salesman was honest,no hard sell, no pushy attitude.The office staff always got back to me when I had a question,and were always friendly and personable.The install crew were fun, fast and neat. Yes,neat.Plus they played great music while they worked.And they actually had fun doing the job! If I had to do it all again, no doubt.I'd pick Sunpower.The panels are sleek on the roof. No pipes or wires running from the panels all over the place. And I've seen that on some other company's installs.Everything is neat and centered,and all the 'workings" are beneath and hidden from public view.Very nice.

Since the day of installation, I've been very satisfied with my solar panels. I've been able to save a considerable amount of money while being able to be energy efficient. The company also upgraded my electrical box and moved the meter from the inside of my home to the outside with no additional charge making it easier for both us and the company to do meter readings. We've suggested solar panels to all our friends and family because we love it so much. Being able to help the world in any small way we can has been gratifying for us and of course, good for the environment! We would recommend this company to anyone!

I absolutely love working with NYSSF. My intake person got me intouch with a solar specialist and they are so quick and efficient. They have done such an amazing job of answering all of my questions and making sure I'm getting the best service. I have already recommended these guys and would definitely continue l recommending them.

I made the call and Sam came out to my house within a couple days. I did have some prep work done on my end to facilitate the process, i.e. replacing my old roof and cutting down some trees. Everything went smoothly after that and the job was completed without any hiccups. NYSSF did all the paperwork, made the appointment with the inspector, and submitted everything to the town (permits) NYS (for the grant) and the power company. It was truly a pleasure to work with these folks every step of the way. Clean and professional. I am recommending them to everyone.

After some research it was easy to make the decision. Sunpower panels are the top rated panels in efficiency, power and warranty and they have the next generation technology. Finding out that my local installer was a Sunpower dealer was an added surprise, everyone I dealt with at Sunpower by NYSSF was professional and courteous and returned our calls promptly. Great company and a great family!

We started to see our Central Hudson bill creep up so we knew we needed to take a look at solar. We called 4 companies and were surprised at how fast our local provider New York State Solar Farm got back to us. Very friendly perople. They made it easy and made us feel really comfortable. Our roof was 17 years old and had already had a leak so we were advised a Ground Mount would be a better way to go. To our surprise, New York State Solar Farm specialized in this so we know we were with the right company. The installation was quick... just 4 days... and they did all the paperwork. We did not need to do anything. Really easy. Now our Central Hudson bill has gone almost to zero. We love seeing the power readings on our cell phone. And they made it look good too. They even raked and reseeded the grass and put down hay. The rain and snow are helping - we have little green grass on the way out to the solar system. Should look all grown in by the spring. Could not recommend New York State Solar Farm more. They're just easy to deal with and always friendly. Great!

Alot of other companies didn't even want to talk to me due to my East/West facing roofs. I get 100% of my electricity from my panels and have never looked back. A very professional install crew, informed consultants, and a dedicated family owned LOCAL business. I was very impressed that the owner of the company visited during install and then followed up with a personal phone call to welcome me to their "Solar family". Do the research, SUNPOWER panels and equipment are the most efficient, best warrantied, why would I put anything else on my biggest investment! Love It!

When looking for a solar installer, I suggest getting quotes from several companies. I looked into Solar City, Sungevity, and New York State Solar Farm(NYSSF). I ultimately went with NYSSF because of their ability to customize my system and the fact they're a small local company. Solar City and Sungevity were cookie cutter in their designs. They would only put them on my roof, which for our house is not the best option. The staff from NYSSF, from the sales, the installation team, and office were very helpful and professional. My project was a difficult one, trees, rocks, technical and various other obstacles. The installation team did a tremendous job problem solving and getting the project done. Communication was good and friendly. The installation is neat and clean. I would strongly recommend NYSSF to anyone considering solar. My system went online in May. I have saved over $5000 since then. SunPower panels are among the best in the industry. If this review helps you decide on going with NYSSF, use my name. They also have a great referral program too!

My husband and I interviewed 3 different solar companies and made the choice of an installer that is close to our home. The staff at NYS Solar Farm were very helpful in all stages of our project. We do not regret our choice and are reaping the benefits of solar power - a wise decision in our book!

I can't say enough about this company!! Beside being a local dealer, the whole process was like no other. From my first call, to my initial appointment and threw the install they made feel special . They answered every call promptly, answered every question with no corporate nonsense. The installers were respectful, clean and thorough. Our saving were immediate. They also have a referral promotion if you give them a referral you get $ 500 at install. PS I have made $1500.

My wife and I took alot of time to meet and research at least 7 solar companies, from small start-ups to the famous mega companies. After much research, Solar Farm was our top choice. Solar Farm and their entire team were straightforward, clear, patient, technologically cutting edge and financially very competitive. While we were initially concerned not going with a better known company Solar Farm's relationship with Sun Power, an industry leader - allayed any unease. They were the perfect choice for us - and in all facets of pre-installation, getting necessary paperwork and approvals, installation and followup - they've been great to work with. Their whole team, everyone from salespeople, coordinators, installers, electricians, etc. . were responsive, courteous and problem solvers. They made this seemingly daunting process - very simple and seemless. In business, it's becoming rarer to find a company that actually delivers what they say - on time and on budget. Solar Farm does. Couldn't endorse this company more.

My husband and I were extremely satisfied with NYSSF. Our salesperson, Keith, the engineer, the installers and the office staff were always very professional and helpful. Any questions or concerns that we had were always answered in a timely manner and our time frame for the installation was also met. We love being able to monitor our system via my smart phone or IPAD when away. Our system was installed just before Christmas. Immediately after the installation, we left town for three weeks and were able to monitor our new system. We are delighted to find that even in the middle of winter, the panels are generating power. We cannot wait to see what happens in the spring as we get more hours of sunlight.

From the salesperson (Tate) to all the installers and inspectors, our experience with this company has been excellent. The building inspector in Port Jervis has had to work with several solar companies and NYSSF was one of the best companies that he had to deal with. Our roof required bracing in the attic and the company followed his recommendations to the letter. Our system passed on the first inspection. The company did all the paper work in getting the permits. All I had to do was to schedule appointments for the inspections. Our system was installed in late October 2015 and began operating on November 1. Even though winter is the least productive time of the year, the system has generated producing over 1430kw. That includes all rainy and snow days conditions. That averages out to over 12kw/day. I am looking forward to the period from spring till early fall when the system should be producing enough power to help carry me through next winter. Time will tell. Having the ability to monitor my system via IPhone and laptop, allows me to monitor the system at all times of the day. To me, that is invaluable. I hope that this has been helpful to someone thinking about installing a system. It is costly but in the long run this system will pay for itself many times in many ways: tax incentives, increasing the value of your home, saving on your electric bill, helping the environment.
