Net Zero Solar

It doesn't get any better than this. Net Zero's entire staff is super professional know what they are talking about and will astound you with their customer service. They took care of the County permitting, co-ordination with my current electricity provider, specs, diagrams, etc. Don't bother looking at other companies. Net Zero is the best. Chad, Trace, and Louis know what they are doing and have trained their staff to perfection. I'm happy to recommend them to the fullest extent.

We received 4 quotes, with Net Zero Solar giving us the best bid. There was one national company, Sungevity, in the mix of bids (since gone out of business) with by far the highest quote. The other quotes were reasonably within range, but Net Zero Solar had the most complete bid and information. Installed in 2013, we have had no problems with the LG panels or Enphase microinverters, or any other part of the system. We have already broken even and are enjoying a great photovoltaic system. The staff there is great -- I highly recommend them.

My wife and I were very impressed with Chad Waits and his team.  His presentation on our patio (and we were all in masks) was very informative and thorough.  When the time came to install the solar panels, the Net Zero team did exactly what we expected.  They were very professional and answered any questions that I had.  It took about 1.5 days and we were off and running (although we did have to wait for TEP).  It's been over three months (two electric bills) since the panels were installed and we are very happy with the results.  Compared to last year's bills we already saved about $280 for two months. I specifically enjoy looking at the app and seeing how many kwh we produce vs what we consume.  Also, looking at energy independence, that measurement still has a long way to go. Our highest number was 47% for a day.   I guess this will hopefully increase in the future when storage batteries will become affordable.  So overall, we are very pleased.  Although we are usually happy when it rains, we are now also very happy when there are no clouds in the sky!

The system design and implementation were great. The last minute addition of screening to deter packrats (it was a ground installation) was nicely done and didn’t change the quote. All their guys were polite and I never saw anybody “lean on their shovel.“ My "outstanding member of the team" (other than Chad) was Louis. He was always patient with my endless questions (we engineers are like that) and clearly knew what he was doing on all electrical/electronic aspects of the system. I highly recommend Net Zero.

Net Zero Solar was excellent from the initial consultation, which included lots of explanation and information, through the installation. The crew was professional, knowledgeable and there was a thorough clean up. The follow up has been just as good and the Enphase Enlighten system allows us to monitor our system and track our usage. Our 70 year old adobe house had some difficult quirks, which they dealt with with aplomb, including me in the solutions every time. I appreciated that the Boss got his hands dirty too--these guys work as a team! They obviously have the respect of TEP and the City, judging from the remarks I got from the inspectors, and they went out of their way to help us with some rate issues with TEP to boot. About March 2017, wen my electric bill was about $500 a month for three months in a row, and due to medical equipment and 5 additional people in my home, I could not reduce our consumption of energy, I looked to get estimates for solar panels. Two companies came to give me estimates. The first was Net Zero Solar. They were professional, on time, had a well done presentation, and left me information on the equipment they use. They also were well versed in the changes in AZ regarding how the utility company was going to handle solar power. An issue that directly affects any home that is feeding into the power grid. They also informed me that the utility company limits the number of solar panels on residential homes...I did not know that. The second company...there are so many things I could mention...let's just say that they were the opposite of Net Zero Solar and even now, they still have not given me an estimate. But it really didn't matter, there was no way they could compare with professional demeanor of Net Zero Solar. If you are going to have 40 solar panels installed on the roof of your home, you better trust the company doing the work. I was interested in solar panels for 10 years before I had them installed, I could kick myself in the keister for waiting that long. Net Zero Solar was exactly on time and on estimate. The administrative staff was perfect in getting me through the process of requesting the installation from Tucson Electric Power...as in they did all the work and I just signed the paperwork! The installers were courteous and considerate of the effects of installation on the people living in the home. For example: that my brother is on oxygen 24/7 and letting me know in advance when they would need to turn off the power and for how long. I am so happy with my solar panels! I had read so much about the point that the cost of installation equals the benefit. Well let me give you another thought. It just happened...not by my choice...that I bought a new car at the same time the panels were installed. The moment I drove that new car off the dealership lot it began to depreciate in value. But, the moment the solar panels were turned on, they instantly began to save me money. And I paid more for the car than I did for the solar panels!

They were great throughout the whole process. The only issue I have is that I need to reset a circuit breaker to see the up-to-date stats online. Sometimes it doesn't track for a time.

We vetted 3 different companies and decided on Net Zero. We were very happy with every step of the process, they took care of everything including HOA.

I am giving this product and the associated services of evaluation of the premises, projected information on energy to be produced, installation, and subsequent service a top rating. Even now, with the panels working perfectly to my understanding, there is a minor readjustment necessary with the electronics keeping records of the process with TEP and Net Zero Solar and a extremely well trained technologist is making the readjustments. I feel secure that the installer will truly stand by the guarantee of all of the service for at least 10 years and the product guarantee of over 25 years, along with the details of expected deterioration, should prove to be valid.

I'm a building systems engineer so I'm involved in specifying and recommending all types of electrical and mechanical systems as a part of my job including solar thermal and solar electric systems. In that context, I'm probably as demanding a customer as any solar installer might encounter. Without hesitation, I highly recommend Chad Waits and his team at Net Zero Solar for grid-tied and off-grid solar systems. NZS installed my PV system 6 years ago at a competitive price, on schedule and with no hassles. I deal with solar installers nationwide in my work and I can tell you that dealers of this caliber are in the minority. NZS apparently doesn't have a problem with turn-over as the six guys I know by name all still work for NZS. In this industry and given what's happening in Arizona (utility push-back against rooftop solar), that's pretty darn impressive. I look forward to the annual "solar mixers" where NZS customers can meet one another and chill outdoors with good food and drink. Whether you're a homeowner, builder or developer, you can't go wrong with Net Zero Solar.

I got three bids before having solar installed 5 years ago Chad and group performed great getting the job done one time without a mess or any problems. Louis has been helpful man times helping me with things and Chad has repaired and serviced what needed to be done quickly and without fuss. There have been no issues or any added expense.

Kudos to Net Zero Solar! Finally support for a cobbled together system that a friend installed several years ago. Chad and Louis to the rescue. They upgraded my weak system with more panels and a new controller to work with my existing equipment. I use solar power with batteries for most of my household uses and the grid for heavier use (HVAC and clothes dryer). They even updated my electrical box which had some pretty scary wiring. Next on the list was a new solar hot water system that is taking a huge load off my grid use. I am so happy to have local support for future maintenance and any trouble shooting if needed.

We installed our system almost two years ago. We were so pleased with the job Net Zero did. Chad's explanation of the system and how it would be installed was superior. They keep us updated with any issues and make us feel like we are part of the family. If you are considering solar this is the company you should choose. About three years ago I decided to go solar. After receiving quotes from four different suppliers I opted for Net Zero Solar. They did an outstanding installation in all regards, and advised me of all the inspections, etc. that needed to be done before the throwing the switch to go from the grid to my own solar. I'm as happy as can be, have had zero problem, and total satisfaction. My electric bill now is the minimum administrative fee of the SSVEC, and at the end of the year I get a credit for about a month's worth of electricity..Besides that Net Zero gives all of us free food and beverage every year! You can't get a better deal than that offered by Net Zero.

Net Zero (Chad Waits and his people) installed our 22-panel solar system five years ago. Since then our monthly electric bill has decreased from $128 to $18, an 86% reduction! And that does not include our annual credit for energy produced in excess of energy used which has been about $30/year or the equivalent of 1 and 2/3 free months. I am a member of a distributed generation (DG) solar group in Cochise County working with the Sulphur Springs Valley Electric Coop (SSVEC) on their utility rate case and the consensus of our group is Net Zero Solar is the best solar power installer and maintainer in Sierra Vista, AZ and all of Cochise County, AZ. Both SSVEC and all the members of our DG solar group agree with this evaluation – not just for their installation quality, but just as importantly for the quality and responsiveness of service once the solar system is installed. Net Zero Solar wants to have an outstanding initial and long-term relationship with its customers. For example, they sponsor an annual social for all of their existing solar customers to exchange ideas and help improve their service. I personally have found this annual mixer to be very helpful and am very happy with all aspects of Net Zero Solar’s service. I have had one issue with my system since it was installed in 2012 and Net Zero Solar was out the next day to address it at no cost to me – outstanding! I have a couple of friends that used other vendors and the support during installation and the service afterwards does not even compare with Net Zero Solar.

We solicited bids from 4 companies before a full residential installation and are so happy that we went with Net Zero Solar. Here we are, FOUR (4) years post installation and we can still call them with questions and get a same day response or a free visit from their crew. We derived so much benefit from the solar electric that we had them install solar hot water the very next year. Our gas use dropped by 60% with that installation. We have owned homes for over 40 years and dealt with numerous contractors.....none of whom can match the professionalism of the folks at Net Zero Solar.

Net Zero Solar of Tucson provided thorough information including pricing, generation forecasts, and installation details to help us make our decision to install a grid-tied, solar photovoltaic system on our roof. The installation was conducted very professionally with a complete review before customer acceptance of the system. We have experienced no problems with the system and it generates consistently according to the forecast. In addition, the panels were sturdy in the face of hail and other weather extremes and continue to function at full capacity several years later.

From the initial contact, through the quote process and final installation, Everyone on the staff and install crew were complete professionals. The crew left our home with a completely functional solar system and the construction area cleaner than when they arrived. In the 3 years since install our electric bill has remained at a consistently true "net zero" cost. There have been no issues with any portion of the system. It has withstood heavy monsoon downpours. Winds gusting to over 60 MPH, dust storms and temps from -1 to over 118 without a single hiccup. In addition Chad has kept us up to date on emerging issues with the corporation commission and our local electric provider whenever they arise. I would gladly do business with the Net Zero Solar team again. Great company, great result.

It is a big investment, but I want to be fossil fuel use conscious. I have even had a no cost follow up on my installation, where they found two loose bolts. Nice to have good feeling my system will stay in place and fully functioning.

I did a little bit of research and asked other solar owners - it became obvious that Net Solar was the one I would use. I couldn't, I believe, have made a better choice. My husband and I received full information on a timely basis, had all our questions answered in a sit-down session prior to signing and had the pleasure of getting the installation done in a timely manner prior to the then established grandfathering date.
