Super easy to work with, great install

My home is fairly complex, with dormers all over the place. NEC shrugged that off and created a plan that covers a huge amount of roof space in 5 separate arrays. The installation, including reinforcement of a roof took two and a half days. The team was very professional and the project manager even showed up during the build to help haul lumber up to the attic. Six months later, when squirrels invaded and started nesting, they came back and installed guards to prevent that for a very reasonable fee given that two guys were here for an entire day. The system is performing up to expectations, and I expect to never pay an electric bill again while I live in this home.

Very professional and top quality work

NEC is Great. The salesman Darryl took the time to go through the whole process and was very professional. Once it came time for the install the PM Mike took care of everything. System was up and running very quickly. I am so glad I went with NEC. They really are the best.

Really good, professional people

Dana was really kind, really thorough with her information and presentation. She knew we were trying to take some time to balance our budget, find the right financing option, and she was patient with us through all of that. When it came time for the install, Megan was also incredibly thorough. From her walk-through inspection, to always willing to answer our questions when it came to contracts and language when it came to the program paperwork, all the last-minute details that come up on home construction projects, I couldn't speak highly enough about how she handled our project.

Perfect Experience From Start to Finish

Everything about this install went better than expected. Our Solar Consultant, Dana, was amazing! Informative, passionate, friendly, knowledgeable...a total delight! Our project manager, Mike, was terrific. They made the experience terrific! And the panels look amazing. Beautiful install! And they left the yard cleaner than when they arrived!

Service and Quality

We had an incredibly positive experience working with Artie Crocker and the NEC Solar team. They answered all our questions, talked through the process of working with the town of Needham, state of Massachusetts and Eversource, and installed a beautiful system that has exceeded our expectations of solar production for the past 6 months since installation. We had been thinking of going solar for the past 5 years or so, and are so happy to have finally taken the leap with NEC Solar. Their time frame for installation to solar production was right on target and the installation process was painless and professional. I cannot recommend going solar with an NEC Solar system enough.

Positive Experience All Around

I looked at three vendors for solar installation at my house and ended up choosing NEC Solar. Throughout the process, the folks from NEC Solar were friendly, responsive, and informative. I was able to negotiate a good deal with them for solar installation and upgrade of electrical service at my home. They had a project manager that communicated with me throughout the process, including the application process with National Grid, the design of the system, installation, and activation of the system once National Grid approved the system. The process is very complicated, and they were good about educating me about the feed-in tariff program and the approval process with National Grid. The installation and upgrade went well and was completed in a day. The installation team was great and did a good job of cleaning up afterwards. The only hiccup was uncertainty about turning on the monitoring system once National Grid had installed the product meter, which took a few days longer than it needed to. All in all, I couldn't be happier with the result. They are definitely a high quality provider. I'd definitely recommend working with them as your solar installer.

Great to work with

Like most homeowners, I was new to solar and didn't understand the process and how to get to my ideal end point. NEC did a great job at explaining the process and keeping me updated throughout so I knew what was happening with the various applications and through the planning phase to design the roof installation. It was a great experience overall and am very happy with the final product.

Very knowledgeable, great service, great work, and made it fun!

Dana and Megan were very well-informed on the advantages of various solar technologies like micro-inverters for my roof, and two setup possibilities -- I chose net metering. They explained options well and were wonderful to work with. The work was quickly and beautifully done by all their staff with no problems. I'm enjoying watching my home's electricity production each day online now!

100% Top-Notch

After seeing four solar companies for their design & quotes, we kept coming back to NEC. From the first meeting with Taylor at NEC Solar, the relationship was built on honesty & professionalism. This is our 2nd solar system, so we were fairly informed on what to expect, questions to ask, etc. Through no fault of NEC, the installation took a bit longer than anticipated; 100% due to National Grid. However, we were kept informed every step of the way through the entire process. As soon as there was information to share, we were contacted immediately with the current status. Once we had a confirmed installation date, David (the project manager) was on top of everything! We knew exactly when the team was going to arrive at our house, what was going to be accomplished on the day, and what the post-installation activities would be. We cannot express enough how pleased we are with the installation. The team are true artisans and take time to ensure everything is 100% perfect. After the installation was completed (yes, all in one day) we just stood back and marveled at the workmanship. Plus, the team are just really nice guys!!!! Thank you NEC for a top-notch quality experience!!!!

I Love my Solar Panel !!!

I love my Solar Panels!!! I purchased the system from Astrum Solar in 2015 and the electrical installation was done by Newport Electric Construction (NEC). The only thing was the inverter box was supposed to be installed in my basement but Astrum's paperwork was wrong. The NEC guy was great, he got right on the phone and immediately straightened the whole thing out! They were on time, answered all of my questions and left my yard spotless. The install took no time at all and the panels look great! I'm happy to see NEC now has their own Solar business so everything is handled by them. I highly recommend NEC Solar!
