Excellent experience with NC Solar

I highly recommend NC Solar. The experience working with them this summer has been excellent from start to finish, from the first call to discuss a quote, the calls to design our panels + Powerwall system (many thanks to Katie!) and to discuss the financial aspect (leasing vs purchasing), to fill and submit the paperwork to our HOA (the dossier was so perfectly prepared, it was approved in 3 days). And then big big kudos to the installation teams who did a fantastic, clean, professional job: 1 day of work for the team of electricians and 2 big days of work for the roof team. And the cherry on the cake: Producing your own power, exporting the surplus, and a gigantic decrease of the electricity bill. All in all, if you are thinking about Solar in the Triangle, you should definitely call NC Solar. 5 star service.

We have had our Franklin 21kw system installed for 6 months now. We have a significant sized system for residential. We are very happy we chose NC Solar Now. We did our due diligence and received 5 quotes. After a massive amount of research and comparing products, NC Solar Now was offering not only the best price, but the panels were far superior than the others offered. We wanted a system on the cutting edge of technology, and that is what the gave us. The process was so simple. In all honesty, besides a few approvals and signatures, we really just sat back and watched all the puzzle pieces fall into place. NC Solar Now has top notch customer service. 2 months in we had an inverter stop reporting. After a quick email, within a week they were here and replaced the unit. I didnt even have to be home. Its just so easy. My wife and I say everytime we receive a notification from Duke, either bill or power outage,: "THANK GOODNESS we have solar and a battery."

Team is great. From installers, to interconnections, to answering numerous questions. Top notch work with an Enphase system and batteries. New build so the process was longer and they stayed engaged and on top of it. We love to sell power back to Greenville Utilities.

We did the whole setup, solar, batteries, Tesla chargers, NC solar now has always done an incredible job stood by their word, when I've had issues. They've come out and fixed things right away. I could not say better things about this company. I've obviously spent a lot of money with them, but I've been using them for the last 5 years and I haven't noticed any quality decrease, if anything, their team gets even more knowledgeable. I've been working with the same folks even since my initial project. These guys are incredible.

NC Solar Now

After interviewing 4 other installers I chose NCSN 5 years ago and have now had 3 phases of development of our Enphase system. Our original system was a 6kW solar only. After adding an EV charger we then added 5 kW of panels as well as 2 Enphase batteries. And liking the battery backups so much we recently added another Enphase battery. The system performs exactly as promised by their projection models. I’ve had a few post-installation service calls needed to address minor installation issues that got overlooked. They also patienly helped me resolve a roof leak that I thought was due to a solar mount that actually turned out to be the fault of a roofing installer. All of these issues were handled promptly even though I live in Winston Salem 100 miles away. I’ve also wholeheartedly referred new installations to them and NCSN promptly rewarded me with two referral bonuses as well. We’ve been happy not only with our system but also with all of our interactions with NCSN along the way. It just feels like we’re dealing with real people who really care about their product and services and we feel very well served by them. So given all this it's safe to say that a 5 star rating is the least I can do for them!

Excellent service, excellent product

I have only praise for NC Solar Now. I had installations done twice, and they were completed professionally and quickly. I was so pleased with the performance of my first set of panels that the following year I decided to add more. The whole system has been amazing, coming online instantaneously when the grid goes down, which it does occasionally in the rural area where I love. I am SO glad that I chose the solar route and this company. I could not be happier with the results.

Our experience with NC Solar Now has been nothing short of spectacular. Our introduction was via Katie Clifford to whom we explained our goals. She tailored a system of solar panels and Tesla batteries to meet our goals at a very reasonable price. We qualified for both Duke Energy's PowerPair program as well as a Tesla rebate for the batteries making the proposal even more palatable. Once we agreed on a design proposal, Chris Baker took the project over through completion. NC Solar Now kept us informed every step of the way from filing applications (including our HOA required documents) for interconnection with Duke Energy, permits and everything else. When installation day(s) arrived, two (2) teams arrived - the first to deal with the electrical connections and the second to do roof prep and solar panel racking and panel installation. Due to the large number of panels we had installed (55), it took 3 total days for everything to be installed and connected. Since then we have been generating electricity in sufficient quantities to effectively be off the grid. Our permission to operate (PTO) finally came from Duke Energy and we have been pouring the excess (after home use [including EV charging], recharging batteries, etc) back to the grid. We are waiting for our first full month of operations to be completed so we can track our savings. Will update when data available. We can't thank NC Solar Now and their expert team enough for their preparation and work on our project. We would and have been recommending them to anyone who asks about our panels and batteries.

NC Solar Now did a great job analyzing our solar needs, walking us through the various payment options and potential rebates/credits, and professionally installing our new solar panels and Powerwall. The NC Solar Now Team kept us informed throughout the planning, design, permitting, installation and inspection of our system. Because NC Solar Now conducted a detailed on-site survey prior to the installation and had multiple teams focusing on their specific tasks, the entire system was up and running in a single day and we were without power for less than 2 hours. At the conclusion of the installation the NC Solar Now team lead walked us through the system components and the Tesla Powerwall app, so by the end of the day, our new solar system was completely powering our home.

Excellent Project from Start to Finish

After reviewing multiple proposals, we selected NCSolar to install solar panels on our home. All interactions with representatives were professional, cordial, and effective from design and proposal through installation and start up. We ended up with a 37 panel, 16.28 kW DC system currently without batteries (we already had a gas generator, but batteries could be added later) and it has operated without any issues for the first three months with no indication of trouble. From interactions throughout the project, I believe they will address any issues in the same manner as they completed the project. The time for installation was about four and a half months from signing the agreement to powering up the system. They completely handled required permitting, HOA approval, and utility interconnection requirements with no problems. During the process, each time I had questions they were handled promptly whether by email or phone call. Installation personnel completed the work in the two days promised and left our property in great shape. We are very happy with the system which has dropped our monthly bills so far to just a little above the utility company connection charge and taxes and reduced the carbon footprint of the house regardless of who lives here for years to come.

We are so glad we chose to partner with NC Solar Now, Inc. for our solar panels and back-up battery. From start to finish and even now, they have been supportive and helpful, responding right away to any questions or concerns we have had. Every team (Sales, Customer Success, Project Design, Inspections and Permitting, Financing, Roof Operations, Electrical, et al.) has coordinated with us and with one another so that the process has been seamless. They even have an HOA Coordinator if you need one! And, if you're wondering if solar is worth it, our last electric bill before solar was $318. NC solar is a great company to work with

NC Solar installed my original panels back in 2014. They did a great job and consistently took care of any warranty issues over the years. When I needed a new roof recently, I decided to upgrade my panels rather than reinstalling the old ones, and I chose NC Solar for a second time. I cannot say enough good things about this company; they’ve been taking care of me since 2014. Solar technology has come a long way in the 12 years since my first installation, and I’m thrilled with the increased production and seamless integration of the new system.

Delivered as Promised

NC Solar installed my first system in 2015 and another in December 2024 on a new home construction. NC Solar’s team delivered on every single commitment. They were responsive during the planning phase, stayed within the project scope, and delivered my system on time and on budget. The Tesla Powerwall 3 is an awesome addition. During a recent wind storm a falling tree knocked out a transformer taking out the grid in my areas. My backup battery seamlessly transitioned to provide backup power. So far my first two power bills have been $0.00, with addition credits being carried forward to my next bill. I am very pleased with NC Solar’s employees, products, and commitment to quality. One more interesting point, a friend of mine purchased a similarly configured system from another solar vendor but paid $20k more.

Great communication, transparent timeline and best pricing.

When I decided going to market for my solar system , NC Solar Now was the third company I had called in the process and Brittany from their sales team was great going through the options , systems sizes and also payment conditions. The entire contract process was smooth and easy to get approved and after closing the deal I was connected with several representatives from NC Solar which took care of each step of my process on a timeline manner and always keeping me informed on the progress. After a month of the system installed my flat billing rate from Duke dropped from $139 to $60 a month , even having an electric vehicle. I definitely recommend having a solar system and mostly working with NC Solar Now.

This is the worst company I have dealt with in a long time, and there are a lot of crappy companies out there. I purchased my home in 2017 and it came with grid-tied microinverters. The first couple of years everything was pretty good and the system seemed carefree and hands off. In 2020 I started having Enphase IQ7 Microsinverter failures. I called and emailed the company. It took weeks for someone to get back to me. Once they finally did they told me they would order replacement microinverters and send someone out to install them. The new microinverters took two or three weeks for the NCSN to receive them but took another 2 months to come out and install them. After installation, 1 or 2 microinverters still were not reporting. I was told not to worry about it that it's probably just my gateway cannot sense them. Completely disgusted I finally gave up trying to get the last two panels working. In 2022 I noticed a couple more controllers had failed and decided to not bother with them. About 1 month ago I checked on the system and had 7 or 8 failed IQ7 controllers. My system is now operating at about 55% capacity. My system is now seriously crippled. I finally emailed NCSN and Eric responded within a couple of days this time. He checked on the system and said he would order the replacement controllers. That was 3 weeks ago. Eric emailed me a week ago and told me his installer would be out on the next Thursday if it didn't rain. He said if it did rain on Thursday he would have them here the following Tuesday. Well, it rained a lot on Thursday and today is Tuesday. Yesterday I emailed Eric to confirm they were still coming today and I got an out of office message. During our communications I told Eric (who is the service manager bye the way) Oh and Eric's excuse for the last time it took 3 or 4 months was due to labor shortage. But, he assured me this time would be different. Well, so far it's not any different. So, here we go again. They either don't respond or make commitments that they don't keep. I received no communication that they would not be coming today. And the person I was communicating with is on vacation. Great. I would love to be able to find another solar company to deal with or just handle the RMAs myself. But they got me trapped right now. Use this company at your own risk.

Fantastic! Very professional throughout the whole process

I can't speak highly enough of this company and their fine staff. From the very beginning, and our first contact with their sales rep, Jennifer, it was excellent. We spoke to and received quotes from two other companies. One of them has recently gone bankrupt! They were pushy and wanted to sign a contract after our first meeting. They were the only one that sent their salesperson to our house. Jennifer was very cordial and professional, and we spoke via email and phone many times. She suggested some things I am glad we agreed on. We went live this past September 2022, and as of last week, February 21, 2023, we have a credit at Duke of almost $200. After signing the contract, NC Solar Now referred us to a different person to guide us to the next step. Every time we move into a different phase, they have someone in that department to guide us. The only issue we have had, and it was our fault, involved the Enphase App that tells you just about everything that is going on with the system, I changed routers, and it was not happy. We called Eric, who handles all of these "dumb" calls, and makes it all better. They had a crew working nearby, and he sent them that afternoon to fix what was not broken. I also want to commend the install crew that installed out system. The guys were very friendly and allowed me to snoop in their work. I also want to shout out to Ryan, who has kept up with us and insuring we are happy. I am forgetting Some other names, but I can say with no regret that we are very happy with our system, and even more happy that we chose the right company.

I found NC Solar Now team to be very professional starting from the Sales to the installation of the solar system. They coordinated end-2-end with HOA, Utility company, township for the required approvals and provided me the periodic updates on the progress. Sales team explained me the entire process thoroughly. They provided timely clarification to all my queries. It has been a great experience throughout the entire process which was transparent. They have done an excellent work in getting this system installed on time. This system has been running for over 6 months now without any issues. Overall, I am very happy with the service NC Solar Now has provided. I will highly recommend this company.

Excellent experience with NC Solar Now

NC Solar Now was wonderful to work with for my solar project. I interviewed multiple companies before I committed to have the work done and found NC Solar Now to be the most comprehensively clear in all aspects of the project: the types of panels, the work timeline and process, and the cost. Jesse Solomon was great at covering all my options with me and answering my questions. My system was installed in November under cloudy, cold, and rainy skies. Event still, my panels covered 100% of my usage. I pay less for my panels than I did for my electricity use with Duke Power, and I am taking advantage of the 30% tax credit for installing solar on my home. It's been all upside! I highly recommend NC Solar Now!

We chose NC Solar Now because they are locally owned and operated and they had the best warranty. We were completely satisfied with the service they provided us from the initial quote to installation and operation. We highly recommend them.

Who wants lower energy costs?

I love my solar panels and the lower energy cost in retirement. I put the system on the house 5 years ago and at that time about half of the cost was covered by Federal and Duke Energy rebates. The system runs all on its own and I love the "My Solar Edge" website that lets me monitor all system functions. This was with out a doubt the best investment for lower energy cost.
