We currently have over 60 solar panels, which we have had for over 10 years. These work well. However, we had an enphase system installed to help power our house during power outages. Unfortunately, this system has failed us every time we have had a power outage. My husband just spent about 1 hour outside in the rain on the phone with support trying to trouble shoot the problem, but didn’t have much luck. We only got our power back when power was restored in our neighborhood. We could see that our neighbors generac systems were hard at work and they had no problems with their backup system. If you are looking for a backup system for power outages, I don’t recommend this one. Our neighbors spend less than half of what we spent on our Enphase system and they are able to power their entire houses for extended periods of time with no problems. Their systems kick in quickly as soon as they loose power. Also, If our system were to work, we would only be able to power part of our home, and for far less time than their systems. With both the generac and Enphase systems, you can choose your systems based on what parts of the house you want to have power. Our neighbors chose to have their entire homes powered. At this time, I would not recommend the Enphase system as a backup for power outages.

I recently met Derek at Native Solar and I mentioned to him some concerns that I had about the solar that was installed on my home several years ago by another company. Derek recommended to have his technical crew come out to see if they could find anything wrong with our system. From the moment a ticket was issued in their system, the communication was unbelievable. Technicians came out to my home, performed inspections on my system and to my surprise, they found a couple of inverters that were burnt out. They ordered parts and were back out replacing everything that needed to be replaced to get my system back up and functioning properly within a week. I honestly wish I had purchased my solar solution through Native Solar because it was nice having a team of individuals that I could follow up with. I didn’t have that with the company who did the install years ago. My advice to anyone looking for solar is to be sure to work with a company like Native that will continue to service your home years beyond the initial install. Go with Native Solar, they will be available to help for years to come. I wish I had but I’m glad I found them now!

A simple system add on of 13 panels, inverters, wiring, racking & critter guard. Quoted time: 30 Days, with worst case scenario of 90. Actual: 6 Months and a couple of days. Quoted Price: $17,749.00 Actual: $18,044.00 Their Lender Credit Human * Fraudulent UCC1 filing claiming - All Title Right & Interest in all solar photovoltic equipment and associated components..... For the addition to a preexisting Solar system! Meaning they leaned my 20 panels and all components while only adding an additional 13 panels and inverters plus wiring, racking and critter guard. They came with zip ties to install the critter guard! In Texas? Those plastic ties would last one season two is blessed from above, certainly not a permanent installation. The appropriate permanent hardware was supplied by myself! The installers were awesome, but it is very difficult when you decide to show up one day before the hiring of an attorney to represent you for the misdeeds! My system is performing wonderfully as should, Enphase really needs to look at their suppliers!

Wow... I never thought installing Solar Panels in my complicated roof and renovated house would be easy. Due to the total renovation of my house 12 years ago, I had wires going all over the place and I had no clue how they all hooked up. I realized it would be a challenge, but the people at Native Solar really tried to work with me and my unconventional home and very difficult life circumstances. In all Native Solar's efforts I have to acknowledge 3 people who went above and beyond in helping me with all my issues: Chris Skaugen and Rae Ann Hargrave and the most amazing electrician and trouble shooter ever - Kresten. Not only do these individuals deserve a 5 Star Rating. Their Stars SPARKLE ✨✨✨✨✨

Service call well executed

Two techs from Native, Chandler and Sergio, came out and installed CT amperage devices so that I can optimize solar using different techniques, such as self supply, grid tied, clean back up, and priority settings on the generac inverter. They did a good job and I’m now playing around with the settings to see which works best under different scenarios. I appreciate natives service support on this. My only comment would be that there is a lack of troubleshooting support guidance that a customer can do on his own before sending people out on the service call. I’ve had to learn this on my own to reset PV links when they go and the rebus.

Hammer, San Angelo

In December of 2016, my wife and I purchased a solar installation from a local, San Angelo, solar company. The installation went as discussed and we were happy because things went as planned. Soon after that installation the once local company, left San Angelo and we were assured that if there was ever a problem with our installation to, “call them for service”. Our system functioned effectively until 5.18.22(date obtained from our electric provider), we became aware of the issue with the June 2022 bill. The electric company came to the house to make sure there was not a problem they needed to fix, and it was determined that it was a solar system problem. The installer was immediately notified and was provided with the information he requested so that a diagnosis could be determined. From that initial contact with the owner of the solar company on approximately 6.15.22 until 8.6.22 we were without any specific information regarding a service call. Time and time again were we told that us being in San Angelo was going to be a problem for service. Finally, on 8.6.22 his office manager told us a service person would be here on 8.8.22. The technician did come and told us he could not download the necessary information in order to diagnose the problem and would need to return with the necessary equipment to do so, but could not tell us when that would be, “it would have to be scheduled by the office manager and the owner”. Over the next several weeks, from 8.9.22 thru 8.26.22, there were no positive efforts made to reschedule a service call. Phone calls, texts and e-mails went unanswered, I believe the phrase is, “no response, just crickets”. We were being completely ignored by the original installation whose contract states, “If there is an issue, we will come fix it”. Finally, we found Native Solar, who provided us with specific dates, updates, price guidelines, answered e mails, returned phone calls with relevant information and never once left us feeling ignored or told us you are out of luck because you live in San Angelo. San Angelo is a town where you can drive around and see who has solar and from there it is an easy phone call and contact to ask who your installer was and how is their service. I will be spreading the word about the quality of the service work done by Native Solar. They understand customer service and demonstrated that to us. As for the original installer, “all hat and no cattle”, and I will be spreading that word as well.

Production is down

My system was installed in March 2020 it worked great until August that year. Then half the panels went down. Issues was not resolved until Dec 2020. Since then my production has been down. In January 2022 i have 3 new panels installed. the new panels produce 15 % more production. There is a 5 watt difference in the to 2 different panels. All of the panels have been cleaned. I have been contacting Native regularly since January of 2022 to get this issue resolved to no avail. I have spent over 70 thousand dollars with Native and all I want is the for the system to preform properly. At this point I feel all Native is doing is giving me the run around. Needless to say I am not a happy customer.

High expectations, led to mixed experience

To begin with this was not a standard design. It included a grid tied system with battery and propane generator. I come from a technology background and new exactly what was available and what I needed. I presented this information to sales who immediately brought the engineering team prior to any contracts being discussed. My issue came with the follow through after the sales was finalized. There were many weeks without anyone contacting me with respect to project start times and the availability/ non-availability of materials. I had to insert myself after months to find the items needed to complete the project. It has been better than a year and the project is not completed. Do to the last component coming in months late I have been unable to schedule a third party for hook up.

Very professional

They were very nice people and did an excellent job of installing solar panels on the roof of my house. After they installed the meters, they explained very clearly what each of them showed and said that I would be able monitor online the amount of electricity my panels were making. I was very pleased with the result as I never had an electricity bill again. When I sold the house a few months ago, I received a check for over $600 for the extra electricity the panels had made over the previous six months!

Native Solar was excellent in installing/commissioning with CPS

I chose Native Solar because they provided the best proposal and the company has a good business model (they do many types of construction - not just solar panels). This allows them a much better opportunity to prosper and grow in the future. They used excellent contractors to perform all phases of construction and had an excellent relationship with CPS in San Antonio, Texas. The work was completed within the required scheduling period and no problems were encountered in finalizing the commission inspection by CPS. My system is composed of 23 Mission 300 panels with each panel using an Enphase IQ6-60-2-US Microinverter. I have had no problems with the systems and the completed assembly is aesthetically pleasing to view and complied with my HOA requirements. The system includes an excellent monitoring software tool available on my home computer and as an APP on my iPhone. The information provided allows me to reconcile my CPS billing statement with the production data reported by the monitoring tool (which for me is very important). Native Solar installed my array on the tile roof of my home and I have had no problems with the roof performance (including a record setting rainfall during 9/2018 of over 18"). I highly recommend Native Solar as your Solar panel installer.

Native Residential Roof Top Solar System

Native was very competitive in price and quality. I had three competitive quotes and chose Native...They were very easy to work with and explained everything clearly (I am a retired engineer), with no hidden costs...! Native provided the specific solar panels and options I selected along with running the wiring in the attic, as requested...vs... installing the electrical conduit runs along the roof/shingles. Installation was uneventful, timely and done with care.... Our system consists of 27 roof mounted panels which has performed for almost 2 years without issue...When the sun is out we are making energy....! It is nice to get such low monthly electric bill..!! Some months we even get an electrical credit, using less energy than we produce and sending back the excess to the electric company (no storage needed) . There were no local rebates in our area, however, an out of town company supporting residential solar provided a rebate, through Native, after installation was complete and the system achieved the quoted output. I would recommend Native to anyone considering a solar system: small, medium or large... We are very pleased with our system...! Let the sun shine......!

Native Solar - Top Quality Solar Installation

Disclaimer: I work for Native Solar. It may seem obvious that I would choose Native Solar if I work for Native Solar. However I would like to add that I have been working in solar for twelve years, I know all of the companies in the area and I choose to work for Native Solar, because I know and have seen firsthand the quality of the installations. I could leave and work somewhere else, but I don't because Native Solar is the best. I couldn't be happier with my solar array, and it has never had any issues since we turned it on about 14 months ago. Native Solar is the best choice because they have a long track record of success, unlike most companies that have only been around for a few years. When considering something that has a long warranty and will be in operation for 25+ years, I think it makes sense to work with an established provider. Thank you Native Solar and here's to the next 25 years of solar power!

Great Installer

I initially started the process with another installer that put no effort into progressing toward installation after I had already paid them in full. I discovered on my own that there were concerns about the designed load capacity of the roof truss and no further progress was made at that point and my installation window for the rebate expired and after several attempts I finally got my money refunded, then I heard that company had shut down. I felt burned by that experience, until I ran into Omeed at Native and he convinced me that I had a bad experience and that whatever issued I had run into Native would tackle without having to get me involved. They were able to design a layout that met my needs and relieved any concerns of the roof truss load capacity. I got a better system (newer components I was unaware of) than what I had expected and there was only one minor communication error that led to an insufficient quantity of parts brought to installation but after a quick phone call it was resolved and installation was completed quick and painlessly.

Do not trust this company to install correctly or safely

I have used Native Solar for two large installations. The one on my home in Austin went smoothly for the most part and I felt comfortable using them again for a larger install on my new home with a solar carport installation. It was to be a 36 panel array with a rain panel installed underneath to collect water for a storage tank and was to be completed in 8 weeks. It ended up taking 8 months. ( This is 1/4 of the time it took to complete the Hoover Dam by the way). The company was lacking in the technical expertise to assemble the carport frame and a third party had to be brought in. Native forgot about it having rain panels until reminded and when completed a solar panel blew off in a 35 MPH wind rather than the 125 MPH it is supposedly rated for. It turned out all 36 panels were installed incorrectly and had to be removed and reinstalled. It is my feeling that I was not only misled about many aspects of this project but actively lied to. I cannot recommend them to complete a job safely or on time.

Response from NATiVE Solar

Thanks for your feedback. As was disclosed to you from beginning, this was a new out of state carport supplier which has long custom fabrication lead times. It was also known from the beginning that other contractors were being used to drill the piers and assemble the structural components. The single panel that flew off during the storm was due to clamps that failed which we warrantied both the labor, new clamps, and panel to reinstall.

Constantly changing prices, never delivered

They changed their prices multiple times, charged me for an 8.8mw system and delivered 6.6mw. Took dozens of communications to get basic work done. Their 'done' didn't even include a working system. Didn't even check to make sure the system was delivering data before saying they were done. EVERYTHING was a fight with them. Entire system was installed in the wrong part of the roof. Don't do business with these folks. They said they'd put in the paperwork for rebates, they didn't, had to resubmit and work with the City/State myself. Countless of hours of work and watching them for them to still not do the basic job I paid for.

Response from NATiVE Solar

There appears to be some confusion based on your feedback. What you were sold was a 8.7kw system. What you received is a 9.6kw system at no additional charge. There is no paperwork filed for solar with the state (in TX) and we filed all local permits and rebate applications with the city utility on your behalf. You must be a registered contractor to do this. Your system was inspected and turned on per city requirements and our normal process.

Service After the Sale

Regarding Native Solar, This note is to express my extreme satisfaction with Native Solar, and especially the technician who they sent out to service my home solar system. Two years ago Native installed a 9kw SunPower system for my house.. My house is over 60 years old so the monitoring system had problems with my wiring. This resulted in multiple complaints to SunPower, who told me that Native was no longer an authorized SunPower dealer. I should add that my SunPower panels are excellent, perhaps the best on the market. My issue was strictly with the monitoring system. When I contacted SunPower they provided me with a list of authorized installers in my area; however, since those providers did not install the system, they did not want to do warrenty work. I contacted Native and explained the situation. Native assumed full responsibility, even though my system is just over two years old. The Native technician that contacted me was Ryan Riddle. Ryan was extremely professional and genuinely sympathetic. He examined my monitor and convinced SunPower that since it had never worked properly, and it should be covered by the warranty. As my problem was unique, Ryan had to make several calls with SunPower's customer support in order to determine what was needed. Ryan insisted the wired device was incompatible with my home and needed to be replaced under warranty with a wireless monitor. He argued my case through several levels of management until they finally acquiesced. He obtained the replacement system, installed it and worked with SunPower's customer support technicians until the new system was functional. I am very happy with Native, and Ryan Riddle for their support after the sale. Ryan could very easily have given up when SunPower first said they would not cover the system. Nevertheless he persisted! Ryan is a real asset to your company. . Thank you Native, and Ryan Riddle for sticking with me. I will not hesitate to recommend Native Solar to my friends and relatives for their solar installations. Leonard R. Voellinger Austin, Texas

Native’s finance, project design, and installation teams were professional, easy to work with, and explained each step along the way. My 40 solar panel, 12 kW system was activated over a week ago and is working great. The SolarEdge monitoring portal is a valuable tool that helps evaluate how it’s working in real time. I called several different solar installers here in Austin and after careful time and consideration I decided to go with Native. I have to say that I wasn't disappointed. Native had the best financing, customer service and system selections available. Val, my sales rep, was professional, reliable and knowledgeable, throughout the entire process. She walked me through everything from start to finish. We decided to install a 6.7kwh system - which for us will offset 100% of our total energy bill. This meant Native installed 26 panels on our roof. The installation was painless and the Native install team did a great job of making our system code compliment and even took the time to make sure it has a very clean and professional look to it. This system will impress anyone that cares about the look and overall design of the installation. I am very happy with my system and the service from Native and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to add a solar system to their home or business.

Horrible Customer Service

This has been a nightmare. The salesman was okay at first but we purchased two solar fans from him at his request to better cool our attic in the barn and in the attic of the house. It took him months to bring the fans with many different excuses as to why he had not brought them. They put the panels up and we were pleased at first because our electric bill was cut in half. So when the sales representative finally brought the solar fans for us to store he looked at the Solar System and said that light should not be blinking. So I called the company and told them what the sales representative had said and they said the system was working fine. When we received our electric bill and it had doubled again back to the original cost. We called many times but the sales representative would not call us back. We finally found someone, which is really hard with this company unless you call the sales department. In the meantime we had a hail storm that damaged the roof. So we called them again to remove the panels so the roofing company could put on a new roof. They charged us over $8,000 to remove the panel and put them back on. The insurance company would only allow $4,000 and we told them that but they would not do it for less. The roofing company even said that they were way out of line. When they put the panels back on it still did not work and our electric bill continued to be double. They finally fixed the system but last night I received an email saying they do not reimburse for downtime. It was a rude email from the Business Development Manager. He and the repairmen said the we had a bad optimizer but last night he said it is working now. We received our new optimizer in the mail today that the repairmen ordered so I guess it is not working. I will ask for a repairman but I probably need to hold my breath. I have never had this bad customer service for a major purchase. This is not a good company and I would never do business with them again. I would discourage anyone from doing business with them.
