I could write a book about my negative experience with this company. But I am spending so much time fighting with Green House Solar that I have little time to list all the negative issues here... Briefly, I have been an electrical contractor since 1987, when I obtained my NJ state Electrical License. Although I am an experienced contractor with a five-person crew, having my company handle a solar installation at my home would take it away from servicing our regular customers. So, on the recommendation, I contracted with Green House Solar. I explained exactly what I wanted and how I wanted the wiring installed to the salesperson. The issues began as soon as I reviewed the engineering drawings, which contained many mistakes and were not in accordance with my requests. I was assured it would all be taken care of during the installation since this is a “design-build” project. As it turned out, everything the salesman and the owner told me was bull. I found out 4 days before the installation day that Green House Solar was subcontracting all the work to another company, Skyline Solar. On the day of installation, a crew showed up with trucks bearing no company name; they knew none of the specific details I requested, and they knew nothing about installing the decorative skirts on all three sides of all the arrays. They did not have the skirt materials, so they could not be installed and could not finish this part of the job. However, despite the job not being done, the owner insisted that I make the 3rd payment listed in the contract when the job was complete. Despite my frustration, I agreed to pay part of that payment… A few days after the partial installation, I found out their office personnel's last day was the last Friday of 2025. Soon after, I received an email that Green House Solar was winding down its business and that my job would be handed off to another company, and I would need to enter into a three-party contract. Since the system was installed, I scheduled the electrical and building inspections, the post-installation letter, and permission to operate from the electric utility. All this is Green House Solar's responsibility, but since they were not doing it, it did. When the panels were installed, the system was turned on, commissioned, and then set into standby mode awaiting the utility's permission to operate. It is now three months later, and the system is still not complete or turned on… I still have not received the three-party contract to review. I feel like Green House Solar took the money it could and has left me hanging… Stay away from Green House Solar.

Greenhouse Solar Review — Delays, Poor Workmanship, and Broken Promises We had our solar system installed by Greenhouse Solar in September 2024, and unfortunately the experience has been extremely disappointing from start to finish. Before installation, I asked whether the panels were actually in stock. I received no response. Then, on 8/26/2025, I was informed by Lee Oelkers that their regular panels were out of stock and would be replaced with a different brand. On 10/1/2025, after a night of high winds, we heard loud banging on the roof. Greenhouse Solar came out the next day and confirmed panels were loose, securing them at that time. On 12/2/2025, we were notified by NJ ADI that our paperwork for the state rebate was incomplete due to missing serial numbers on the power box. At the company’s request, I opened the power box, photographed the serial numbers, and sent them in. Then, on 12/10/2025, the company admitted an error on the New Jersey state form and asked me to re-sign corrected documents. I did so, and shortly afterward we were told the state would now require a site inspection. On 12/18/2025, after a wind and rainstorm, 38% of our panels stopped functioning. When I called Greenhouse Solar on 12/19/2025, I was told the panels would “fix themselves.” The following day I received another email insisting it was not an installation issue. On 12/21/2025, I emailed back disputing that microinverters “self-repair,” requested service, and received no response. I then sent a corrective-action letter giving seven days to reply. On 12/24/2025, a salesperson told me they were busy with end-of-year installs, but still no official response from the company. On 12/26/2025, I finally received an email from Lauren stating a technician would be at my home on 12/31 between 8–9 a.m. No one showed up. My calls and emails went unanswered. Later that day I received a new email saying the visit was moved to January 6th, and that Lauren would be leaving the company on 1/2/26. Bottom line: Greenhouse Solar changed equipment after the sale, performed poor-quality installation, mishandled required New Jersey paperwork, and repeatedly provided inaccurate information — including claims that failed panels would fix themselves and confirming an appointment that never occurred. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company.

I had a very good experience with Green House Solar. They were extremely communicative, they never overpromised, they did what they said they would, when they said they would, at the price they quoted. It was solid, professional work with a personal touch. It was easy to get questions answered - and I asked a lot of questions. They were very clear in setting expectations and then meeting or exceeding them. I would recommend them to anyone looking to add solar to their energy mix. They use American-made products and their work crew got the installation done in less than a day.

From the very first meeting, Lee stood out for his honesty, respect, and genuine desire to help. I had heard horror stories from friends/neighbors about their experiences looking into solar, so I was hesitant from the start. Lee was patient and addressed my concerns; he explained my options, the costs involved (leasing vs. purchasing), and went above & beyond to provide all the information I needed to make my own, informed decision — without any of the typical sales pressure. Lee answered every question, call, and text promptly, always carrying himself with professionalism. His honesty and willingness to take the time to educate me rather than just “sell” me made all the difference. All of these qualities factored into my decision to go with solar because I was confident I was in good hands. The entire process was smooth and stress-free, and even after installation, Lee has continued to check in and offer support. It’s rare to find someone so trustworthy and committed to their customers. I highly recommend Lee to anyone considering solar — you’ll be in excellent hands from start to finish.

I am impressed with Green House Solar (GHS) and confidently recommend their expertise in electrical engineering, project management, and installation quality. I personally used and still encourage that others use the EnergySage marketplace (or such) to get competitive bids. Then I picked GHS. Our contract was signed early November 2023. As soon as permits were granted, they came out quickly in December and did the physical panel installation in one day, and finished the electrical the next day. I'm so appreciative-- the BEST thing GHS did for me was to honor my request to finish installation prior to December 31st so I could quickly utilize my federal tax credit asap in April. When I was given the PTO, the outside electical panel door was stuck closed. GHS came out promptly the next day to remedy the situation, and then the system was turned LIVE and generating power. Three criticisms of GHS: 1. The coordinator had been GREAT, but unfortunately, she was let go due to a re-org soon after my install (hopefully unrelated), and my remaining experience with GHS went down hill after that. Hopefully the successors have gotten things under control by now. 2. GHS didn't help or provide guidance with the post-install items like Registration and NJ incentives. It took them months to submit the "as-built" documentation to NJ ADI agency. Also, their documentation to me was out of date with the websites involved, e.g. it mentioned selling SRECs on a marketplace, which is obsolete. The SuSi SREC-IIs have a fixed price from "solarincentivesnj" . 3. It took 5 months (until Nov 2024) for GHS to email their customers about the SunPower Chapter 11 Bankruptcy that was publically announced on June 2024. Until that one email, GHS was suspiciously quiet, not mentioning that it happened, how it would affect customers, that additional warranty registration was required, and how they would be there to support and help. Five compliments about Green House Solar (GHS): 1. The system is well engineered. 2. The application and permit submissions were handled well (in the beginning). 3. The installation is sturdy, secure, and functional. 4. They have chosen panels that are durable, efficient, and with a great warranty. 5. They have a sense of urgency (quick year-end installation, quick panel door troubleshooting). I'm so glad I went solar and with GHS, and all things considered, I'd give them near 5/5 stars. If you’re reading this review it’s not from a customer point of view it’s from a Green House Solar employee point of view. The organization greatly lacks and so does communication and trustworthiness with the customer. There are plenty of better solar companies out there for homeowners to pick. Sun run, Sunnova, Trinity, Infinity Energy are all companies that have been around the same amount of time or even longer and they have 10x the amount of reviews. So you do the math. Why does Green House only have 20 reviews in 10 years. I could go on for days but it’s up to you the consumer to pick so hopefully this helps you make a decision when your looking through reviews.

We are extremely satisfied with our Green House Solar Installation! From the sales process with Gino through the install with Simon and his team, engineering support from Rob as well as communication with Frank Curran (owner) and Nick Lawrence (project manager) we truly felt taken care of. Simon & Nick did a great job keeping us up to date on schedules, what to expect from the town, state and utility company , answering questions with professionalism and patience. A wonderful experience all around for such a big project for us with so many components to navigate for completion. We highly recommend Green House Solar!

My name is Joe Marazzo and I would like to leave a review of my experience with Greenhouse Solar. My professional background is in the Energy Field. I received my BS in Civil Engineering and started my career with the Brooklyn Union Gas Company as a Management Trainee in 1980. My first 18 years was on the gas distribution/ engineering side of the business. In 1998, Brooklyn Union purchased the Long Island Lighting Co and became KeySpan Energy. In 2002 , I was promoted to President and COO of KeySpan Home Energy Services (the residential energy services unregulated side of the business). During that timeframe, KeySpan also acquired Boston Gas and with the NYC, Long Island, and greater Boston area, became the largest Energy Provider in the Northeast. During my tenure as President and COO , I became very interested in photovoltaics and other forms of renewable energy. In 2007, KeySpan was acquired by National Grid. I remained on as COO of National Grid Home Services to help with the transition. In 2009, I retired from National Grid and joined Clean Energy USA as a partner. At that time, I also became certified in Photovoltaic energy. Clean Energy USA was a Sunpower dealer with headquarters in Rehobeth Beach, DE. In late 2010, with many changes happening in the solar industry, I was offered a position with New Jersey Resources in Wall Township NJ. I was responsible for NJR Home Services which included residential installation of Solar panels. At that time, I also installed a 11kw Sunpower system on my home in Basking Ridge , NJ. I retired from NJR Home Services in 2015 and my wife and I built our new home in Gladstone, NJ. I specifically had my builder prep the house for future solar power and made sure that our back roof had perfect orientation. The pandemic set us back on getting it done but in 2022, I decided to pursue bids from Sunpower dealers. Because of the pandemic and supply chain issues we waited until the spring of 2023. I met with a few Sunpower dealers but was most impressed with Greenhouse Solar. After meeting with Rob Emery, I felt very comfortable with Greenhouse Solar. Again, because of supply chain issues plaguing Sunpower, I decided to go with the German made Meyer Burger panels. The system was installed in late summer 2023. I was very impressed with the the staff at Greenhouse Solar. They made the entire process seamless and there workmanship was very professional. Also, they were extremely responsive to a few glitches we experienced on start up. I would like to endorse and recommend Greenhouse Solar. I have been very happy with them.

Our total experience with Green House Solar of Madison was outstanding. From the initial consultation/interview through completion of the project , each aspect was well done. Communication with Lauren was always timely, accurate, and professional. Initial consultations with planning and design was informative and positive. I never had a doubt that I made a bad choice. The installers arrived on time and worked until the day’s tasks were complete. When the panels arrived, they were fully installed in 1 1/2 days. On the second day the installers worked from 7:45 a.m. until 8:30 pm to complete the job. Their work ethic is top notch and positive. The entire work force was polite, professional, willing to answer all questions. The entire experience was very gratifying ! I give Green House solar my highest recommendation!!!

These guys are amazing. I found them from some random solar website I was using and like with most of those sites I entered the relationship with an extreme amount of skepticism. However that was replaced with understanding and the ability to meet some pretty awesome people. I had most of my questions answered before I asked them and what I did ask was answered quickly by Rob (Sales). The installers (Other Rob and team) were also amazing. They allowed me to follow along and explained everything they were doing as I had some interest in learning. They were patient and methodical. Also, HUGE shoutout for the neatness of the work done. The cable runs that the electrician did (mint), and the lines from the roof to the garage, along with the ethernet cable installed to my network cabinet...all was done with professionalism. Lastly, the front office team were also great. They actually showed up on the job-site and said hello which was different and awesome to see. All in all, Green House Solar did a fantastic job and the only thing I get to complain about now, is the amount of cloudy days each month :)

I always prefer to "go local" when looking to improve my home or upgrade my services. I was not disappointed by Green House Solar. From the low pressure sales, where every option was carefully explained, questions answered and costs broken down in a clear manner, to the permitting and support from Rob (Lead electrician) and his crew and Kristen (Project Coordinator) and her crew, I was never let down. There's a lot paper work to wade through and Green House Solar was always there guide the way. Not to mention SunPower and the Battery Backup! Excellent technical support--the system is producing...it works!

Talented and hard-working crew, great customer service from the leadership, excellent equipment, system works flawlessly. What more can I say?

Wish we transitioned to solar sooner. Our solar panel layout and their field-techs did a great job at installation and efficiency in getting it done, despite being installed the year of Covid-19. Communication by our final Project Coordinator as well as the Owner and their current Operations Coordinator rescued some early 'growing pains' felt from two misstep staffers when we initially engaged with Green House Solar. At least there is a caring owner at the helm to ensure we were taken care of. Their quality was never in question and was delivered. Glad to be saving energy cost while also giving back.

Green House offered a quality experience from beginning to end! Communication was stellar; I approached three companies initially, and their pitch was the most detailed and accurate. Installation was smooth and professional. We are very happy with our solar generator!

Deciding which solar contractor to go with seemed like a daunting task until Green House Solar came along. I appreciated the relatively small size of the company which allowed for direct, hands-on attention from the owner, Frank, his salesperson Michael, project coordinator Tim and installers Rob and Cory. They were there for me and my home every step of the way. There are a lot of hurdles to clear to get a system up and running from idea to reality, most of which have to do with building inspectors, the utility company and the state, but they navigated them all for us. Not to mention the panels and inverters they deal with are top notch, and we look forward to a profitable and earth-friendly system for years to come!

I contacted Green House Solar not for an install, but for maintenance on an existing 10 year old ( squirrel chewed) installation. They were communicative, letting me know when they'd arrive - through a couple of reschedules - and the crew were pleasant, informative, explained to me - even showed me - the problems, and were diligent: fixing my issues in a timely manner. Given the difficulty in getting an existing install worked on, what with Solar companies from 10 years ago being out of business now, I'd recommend Green Solar for work and/or new installs - and will be my goto guys for my replacement install, whenever that happens. 5/5 "would buy again"

Several people in my town had recommended Frank/Green House Solar. He uses the best products, prices are competitive, and service is excellent. He was patient with our questions as we were in process of making our decision, and he walked us through each step on the way. Service is excellent and we love the idea of having someone who is local that will be there to help us with our system if we ever had more questions or had any problems. So far, no regrets and so glad we decided to go solar! Highly recommend calling Frank and Green House solar if you're thinking about going solar. We also got the battery storage, and love the idea of using our own generated solar power, even when the sun goes down!

From the first day we signed the contracts to the morning we threw the switch Frank, Dimetri, and their skilled staff did everything they promised. As a first time solar user, I could not ask for a better install.

Green House Solar and Frank the owner did an excellent job from the start, answering my many questions and providing me with different options on the system design. Frank was very knowledgeable and honest in his answers. I am fussy about doing things correctly and having them look good. Green House Solar met my expectations. I would recommend them to anyone looking for quality work done at a fair price.

Greenhouse solar installed solar panels at our house earlier this summer, and we were very satisfied with the entire experience. From initial conversations to final installation, the entire process was smooth. To being with, we started our conversations with Tim, who was really good at explaining the process. He provided us with detailed numbers, which we found very useful when deciding to go with solar, and in choosing this company over others. Once the contract was signed, we met with Frank Curran, the owner. Frank is very knowledgeable which was apparent as he walked us through the process, and he patiently answered all our questions related to the installation. He also checked our roof and found that they had lost their asphalt layers and recommended we replace the roof shingles. The majority of the time was spent obtaining the required certificates and permits (expect 2-3 months to get the permits) but once the permits were in place, the process of installation was very smooth - the entire system was installed in two days, and we were able to switch on our solar pretty soon after that. The best part of the installation was none of the wires are visible from the outside, everything was neatly tucked under the panels and the panels themselves look like a series of skylights. Right after installation there was some water leaks during rains but Frank had someone from his team come over right away, and they doubled the sealant in the basement. We have not seen any leakages or any other problems, since!!! It’s now been 5 months since the system was turned on - we have seen a noticeable reduction in the electricity bill, and we also recently received our first SREC in the mail. Overall we are very happy with the entire installation process and with going solar. We would definitely recommend greenhouse solar to anyone for solar installation.

They were Great. I researched several companies, and this was the one we chose. This is the only company that did not try to "Sell" us. They just showed us how much solar we could produce, how much it would cost us if we bought the panels and estimated that it would save us $58,000 on electric after 20 years. We are very happy we hired them. They were on time, worked long days, did everything from getting the permits, contacting the city for final inspections (which were approved the first visit), etc. They maximized how much solar we could fit on our roof. They use Sun Power panels exclusively which are rated very high and warrantied for 25 years. Our panels have already generated 364 kwh during the short days in November. We were on the fence about whether to install a solar system while doing a major remodel of our home. We weren’t sure if it would be worth it and we were concerned about the additional coordination required with our general contractor. We spoke with 3 different solar installers and Greenhouse Solar stood out as the best option for us. Frank (owner) met with us several times and answered all of our questions thoroughly. Their pricing was very competitive and Frank gave us different options on the panel styles while keeping the costs reasonable. We decided to make the leap and we’ve been very happy with the service we’ve received. Frank was VERY accommodating with scheduling and he helped us meet a critical deadline for the installation. The system is now up and running and looks great. The entire process was much easier than we anticipated and Frank’s attention to detail and excellent customer service get the credit for that. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Greenhouse Solar to anyone thinking about installing a solar system.

Not even joking I’ve been looking at solar panels for the last 5 years. Have met with every single installer possible in NJ. The day me and my wife met Frank we knew that he was the one and only one who would install our Solar System. He’s beyond knowledgeable in the field and just a straight up guy. Every review you read about him and Green House Solar is exactly what we experienced and as you can see they are all five star and positive! Long story short when he and his team showed up the day of the install it made it even more clear to us that our decision to go with Frank and Green House Solar was the right one. I can’t speak highly enough of those guys and how great they were. The install was literally so professionally done that our town inspector ended up complementing them on it. He told me he’s seen hundreds of Solar installation jobs and that this was the best by far. Little details which you would never even think about they do and it was noticed by the inspector. There’s lots of anxiety and things to learn when looking into purchasing a solar system. Trust me i get it! Everybody will shop around as you should and as I did. You will talk to the usual suspects and meet some nice salesmen who will show you a bunch of charts and promise this and that and everything under the sun literally.... All I can say is that I have been through it all and the one thing you owe yourself is to call Green House Solar. It’s a big decisions to do this and you want somebody who knows that and will be there every single step of the way with you. You also want somebody who is a certified Electrician and understands the ins and outs of what a system entails which Frank is and does. I can’t thank him and Green House Solar enough! We know 110% we made the right choice going with Green House Solar!

I've been a construction manager for over 30 years and I interviewed many solar contractors before I made my final decision. Greenhouse solar was honest truthful and did not try to oversell anything only what would be the most efficient system for the price that would fit my home. I grilled them on the installation process, every piece of equipment that would be used to install the panels to my home and found that everything was of the highest quality. I also requested several different manufacturers of solar panels for cost comparison versus power output and Frank from Greenhouse solar never hesitated to supply me with all the answers and spreadsheets to every question I had. Green House Solar were able to install in the time frame that I requested. They were neat clean polite and did not inconvenience us in the least when completing the installation. If there's a better Solar Company out there I couldn't find them.

I spoke with several installers while deciding who to do our solar installation, from local contractors to the big companies and by far felt most comfortable with using Frank, and we're glad we made the choice. He's very knowledgeable and was always willing to take the time to answer questions and talk through options. High quality work, very professional, and everything under his control was exactly on-budget. We ended up having to do some additional roof reinforcements, but even his contractor that he brought in for that (Butch) was excellent. The system is now up and running for a few weeks and production is great. I highly recommend using Green House!

We shopped around and decided to go with Green House Solar because of the way Frank came to the house just explained everything in detail. He also kept us informed throughout the process. When PSE&G changed over the meter they did something that caused the panels not work, so I called Frank and he came to fix the issue first thing in the morning. I have the panels close to 10 months and could not be happier! Frank made the whole process painless!!!

We are extremely pleased with our decision to invest in a solar energy system, and thrilled with our decision to partner with Frank from Green House Solar. From the outset, Frank was extremely patient and thorough answering our many questions. Knowing very little about what can be an overwhelming process, Frank took his time to go through our options to ensure we were comfortable with our decision. We spoke to several reputable companies throughout the state. Several pushed leasing, which was not the right path for us. Ultimately we narrowed our decision down to two. On the one hand was a true project manager/salesman that was fantastic in his responsiveness, competitively priced, and promised to stay on top of things as the install process unfolded. On the other hand was Frank, who was largely a one-man show, less flashy with sales materials, but far more genuine is his commitment to the process from start to finish and in his belief in the solar energy benefits, both financial and environmental. We favored having Frank onsite at all times. The downside to this approach is Frank had to handle everything for what was a fairly large 15.3kW system. Ultimately, it was the right decision for us to partner with Frank. As an example of the kind of partnering that worked for us, on the very first day of installment, once he was finely tuning our roof layout, Frank quickly realized that something wouldn't look quite right in the end with our layout. He discussed our options, and the one that worked for us required one additional panel. Frank took responsibility for the layout snag, and included the materials for the extra panel in our contract and never said another word about it. I also remember him staying late one night to rerun some tv cables (not his responsibility), so my kids could have tv back on. That's the kind of partner Frank was throughout. Frank's workmanship and dedication to his craft left us with a beautifully finished product that is already producing renewable energy at a terrific pace! As a smaller operation, it wasn't the fastest process with Green House Solar, but it was absolutely the right decision for our family and we have no regrets. I can't recommend Frank and Green House Solar highly enough.

Frank from Green House Solar was fantastic to work with throughout the entire process. He managed the entire process end to end. All of the work was clean and tidy and the job site throughout the process was also kept very clean. I honestly can't say enough good things about Frank. He's honest, trustworthy, and fair. It's a rare opportunity these days to work with such consummate professionals.

With Green House Solar, it has only been positive experience. Frank, the owner never tired to over-sell rather he spend time explaining what type of system I required and how it will benefit me. Being on solar for 8 months now, I would say, everything he said was true... I had my initial doubts about Green House Solar, since they were not a well known name like others but I am glad I didn't chose the others who offered to lease the system. Green House Solar was the only company who suggested me to buy, and i was skeptical at first but upon several discussions with Frank, I was convinced that was the right thing to do. I had to go back and forth several times with Frank over the system size, panel options etc. He was patient all along and provided all the details I asked for. Green House Solar were complete professionals, took care of all the paperwork, township licensing etc and finished the paneling, wiring and installation all in one day. They also assisted me with after sales support setting with SRECs. I would certainly recommend Frank and Green House Solar

After trying to get return phone calls or emails from other companies, I was pleased to receive a prompt response from Green House Solar. They showed up when they said, provided a reasonable quote and performed their work in a professional manner. When troubleshooting my solar installation, they were quick to identify the problem and managed the resolution to my complete satisfaction.

Green House Solar did a terrific job! Frank (the owner) is a great guy who is passionate by his work with high standard of quality and service. Since day one he has been listening to our household specific needs, helping design a custom solar system within our budget, being prompt to respond to any of our questions or concerns, and installed the whole system in a day! Excellent experience. Frank at Green House Solar was knowledgeable, communicated well and was responsive. He explained the problems I was having with squirrels and proposed solutions that were effective. Costs were competitive and extras due to squirrel damage handled well. I am very pleased.
