Solar panels, battery and EV charger

Great experience start to finish
We had gotten a recommendation to go with another solar company from a trusted resource, so we were not even looking into other companies. However, something was off about the company we picked, and they were putting major pressure on us to sign a contract with a massive financial cost. So, in the interest of being better informed, we looked into Great Sky Solar. Great Sky had installed my brother-in-law's panels, and he thought they were phenomenal. What hooked us was that he said they didn't put pressure on him at all. After the first communication with Great Sky, we started to have more serious doubts about the first company. The Great Sky quote was much lower, and they never harried us or told us we had to act NOW if we wanted the panels installed by year end. Since we had already had the full solar pitch from the first company, we felt like we knew what we wanted and what to expect. We never met with the sales team in person but talked on the phone and emailed back and forth. Their approach was so relaxed, informed and flexible that we realized pretty soon they were the company for us. The other company had told us we needed critter guards and would have installed them at the same time as the panels. But Great Sky said they didn't do that but could recommend a company who could. That gave us pause for a while, but even without the critter guards, the quotes were so wildly different, that it became a no brainer to go with Great Sky. They took care of the city permits and installation was a breeze. I was actually surprised how quickly the panels went up (especially considering the other company was telling us it would take a long time, and we needed to act FAST). We started talking to Great Sky in July; the panels were up in September; and we got permission to operate in October. I would definitely recommend Great Sky Solar. Special shout out to Rebecca Craddock who was our project manager and kept us informed at every stage.

Couldn't be happier!
Great Sky Solar was exceptional. They kept us informed every step of the way, starting from getting an estimate for the work and solar productions, permit, inspection, approval process with the utility company to getting the SREC set up, you name it. It was such an easy process (absolutely zero management from our end) that we would do it again! The solar production has been spot on as well. We really couldn't be happier!

Absolutely satisfied with GSS!
GSS was great! They were very cognizant of preparing an estimate during COVID times and restrictions I had to have in place with my family. Installation crew was amazing and had to adapt on the fly to changes needed to panel layout and other unexpected issues that they solved “in the moment”. More than satisfied with the final install!

Bespoke Ground Mount Solar Array
Great Sky Solar designed a bespoke ground mount array for my property, and was very flexible about positioning it so as to fit in with the esthetics of the landscape and avoid needlessly taking down trees. Once the project began, the Great Sky team showed up every day for three weeks until completion, and liaised with the local utility company to commission the array. The workmanship was and is excellent, and Great Sky has always been available to help me understand how the system works and to address any glitches. The whole company is very friendly, easy to work with and committed to my satisfaction. I recommend Great Sky wholeheartedly.

July 2016 Solar design and installation
July of 2016 - 33 Panel array on my roof. Great Sky did an excellent job designing and installing the system and walking me through the SREC II Market that was unknown to me at the time and had a questionable capacity issue. I am very pleased with the follow-up support for a replacement LG Panel under warranty and am very happy I went with a local provider for my design, installation and service needs.

So easy to work with
I honestly can't say enough good things about working with Great Sky. They carefully talked us through the process, discussed the pros and cons of various options, explained the reasoning behind all their recommendations, and basically held our hands the entire time. The installation was fast and unobtrusive, the array is great, and when the bank we were working with got bogged down over the holidays, Great Sky was patient and understanding about the delay.<br />I've privately recommended them to a number of friends, so now I'm doing it publicly. They're a great company, and they have really worthy goals for sustainability and environmental progress. I can't imagine why you'd go through anyone else.

Great Company
Why I think Great Sky is a great company:<br />They were informative, supportive and responsive through out the entire process.<br />They were willing to show me the numbers in a couple of ways so that I could compare costs/benefits with other estimates easily.<br />As a worker owned company, each person was deeply invested in doing a good job and making the process work well for me.
