Great Basin Solar NV

Great Basin Solar NV to the rescue

My solar stopped producing on August 2nd 2024. I to like many people that have had a solar system installed and has had the company that installed the solar system go out of business, leaving me and others without someone to work on our solar systems. The other companies that I have reached out to in the past won’t touch the solar system if they did not install. When I called Great Basin Solar to ask for help. Matt answered the phone (shocker)!! I asked a couple questions and he said yes, yes and yes they could help. What a relief!! They were above courteous, professional, completely honest and above all very proficient at their business. I can’t say enough about how appreciative I am that they are here in Reno Nevada taking care of the residents that have had solar systems installed and then had the company that installed go out of business. Thank you Matt and William for helping me get my solar system back up and working!! I will definitely be telling everyone I know that needs a solar system installed or anyone that needs a great company to work on their solar system

A great company to work with.

Everyone at Great Basin Solar has been professional and helpful. Installation of solar panels done a month ahead of original schedule. Work was completed in a timely manner and installers were great. Inspection by the city was one week after installation and information sent to NVEnergy the same day. Just waiting on my new meter and to start collecting the sun's energy!

Seamless Solar System from Quote to Installation

The positive reviews we read on Great Basin Solar is what led us to choosing them for our system. From our initial email inquiry to completion, Travis and his team were prompt in responding to our phone and email inquiries. The virtual quote review session proved to be better than an in-person quote. Great Basin reviewed in detail, a step-by-step process of what's involved; description of the system, the cost, HOA approval, NV Energy conversion, down payment expected, an overhead picture of the proposed solar array, and what we should see from system smart phone app. We were further assured the installation and servicing will be done by their in-house technicians and not parsed out to contractors. Great Basin was proactive in keeping us informed through emails and phone calls, a welcome change from consumers always having to initiate follow up calls. The installation was clean and professionally done. Give Great Basin Solar a call. Based on our experience, you will be very pleased with their service.

installation of solar panels

very efficient, courteous, cleaned up after themselves barley noticed they were here.

Made the right choice!

I couldn't be happier with my experience with Great Basin Solar. Travis and his crew are friendly and professional. I have had every question answered, every concern addressed and I know, without a doubt, that I chose the correct company for my solar install.

We love our solar panels!

The installation was very smooth. All our questions were answered. The installation was completed over a year ago and it has been working great!

No need to shop around; Great Basin Solar is all you need!

Great Basin Solar has my enthusiastic endorsement and highest recommendation. We got quotes from three different companies and picked Great Basin Solar on the basis of their professionalism, the quality of the products they were offering, and the reviews they had received from prior customers. We were more than satisfied in every regard. Travis coordinated everything expeditiously and did all of the negotiating behind the scenes with the city, our HOA, and the power company. The workmen showed up promptly, completed the entire installation in less than 2 days, and cleaned up after themselves. If you plan to go solar, go with Great Basin Solar, and you will not be disappointed.

Knowledgeable and responsive.

Knowledgeable and responsive. The team knows the area very well, and worked hard to tie up all the loose ends so I didn't have to worry about anything getting missed.

Helpful planning, excellent installation.

Great Basin Solar, as the name implies, is a LOCAL solar company. They do the planning and installation with their own people--who have worked together for years. They offered us an in-depth analysis of our needs and clearly defined choices of systems. They handled the loan, tax rebate and inspections. Their installation team was responsive and professional, installing our system in under 6 hours, and the results looked clean and solid. Because they are local, if something goes wrong someday (and things do go wrong in this world), I won't be calling some faceless corporation in Denver to employ a sub to fix it at their convenience. It's all done right, right here. For these reasons, I highly endorse Great Basin Solar.

Great people to work with

We really liked working with a small, local company. Travis and the team are so committed to climate change and so experienced in doing their jobs. The panels were put in place in a day and inspections scheduled immediately afterwards. From the initial proposal to power on, everything went quickly and efficiently. Since we are older, we might not get much financial payback, but, regardless, we feel good about getting our power from the sun now as well as supporting the young people who are part of Great Basin Solar.

professional service

Great Basin Solar was very professional, kept me informed, was accurate in timing and had a very good installation crew.

Great Company!

We just got a solar system from Great Basin Solar installed. This is a great company that we honestly can recommend. Travis Miller and his team did a fantastic job and made it very easy on us with no doubts at all. They came on time, worked reliable and clean and very professional. We are very happy with the installation!

Great experience, and very happy with the product!

From the first phone call to today, our experience with Great Basin Solar has been pretty remarkable. The two people I dealt with were Joe and Travis, and both of them really exemplify excellent service and professionalism. We got through the entire process very quickly and painlessly, including the permitting process! We've had our panels for a couple months now with minimal issues (the one that we had involved an internet outage which was not Great Basin Solar's fault). And if there ever was an issue, Travis and/or Joe responded extremely quickly and resolved almost immediately. Thank you very much!

Very professional and organized

Very professional and organized. I didn't have to do anything to help move the process along. I was given a very details road map of exactly how and when each step would happen. The insight that Travis provided on the initial call was very important to me. I was shown much more information and reasoning for decisions than from other companies. My only problem is the current smoke situation isn't allowing me to determine if the system is fully operational, but it appears to be generating at a reasonable amount give the smoke.

They are amazing!

Travis and all the guys at Great Basin Solar have been great!! They were so thorough and fast, much faster than the original expected competed date. Also it's amazing that they handle everything for you, even down to dealing with your HOA, if you have one. I personally also really appreciate that they don't try to up sell you. They're very honest and up front about everything and that means more than anything! I would highly recommend that anyone use them for their solar needs!

Great firm for your solar energy needs!

worked directly with Joe Stephenson at Great Basin Solar while getting competitive bids for our solar power system. While the bid was VERY competitive, what impressed me the most was how honest and forthright he was during the discussions about properly sizing the system and options to go with it. Unlike other firms I spoke with, he told me the truth, not what he thought would close the deal. I respect that tremendously. We moved forward with Great Basin Solar and upon approval of the permits, they started the next day and were finished one day later. Not only would I recommend them to a friend, I already have!

They did a professional and reasonably quick install.

They use the newest and most efficient panels.

GBSolar is an excellent company with top flight system analysis

I found GB Solar through fellow contractors in No. Nevada

Great quality, price and people

This Company is excellent. We shopped around and they were the best quality, best service and spoke in layman terms for me. The process was painless and finished just as they indicated it would be. Even know the estimates they gave us on what our electric bill would be after going online is spot on. They know what they are doing and I would highly recommend them.

Excellent Experience

Great group of folks to work with. Very professional and went the extra mile to help us with our system and adding some upgraded equipment to our house. Travis and Will are outstanding. We have recommended them to others and will continue to support Great Basin Solar!

Their installation was picture perfect!

Did a great job installing the system and their follow-up was all I needed to bring us up to speed very quickly.

Great Basin Solar ROCKS!

After receiving two other contractors who come to bid my solar project, a friend of mine said he recommended Travis at Great Basin Solar. My friend is very good about shopping and doing his research so I decided to have Great Basin bid the project. Not only was their price very competitive but the work was amazing! My solar panels look so much better than my neighbor's words cant describe it. They work was done on time and exceeded my expectations! I cannot express my appreciation enough to Travis and Great Basin. Feel free to contact me at vclombardi at yahoo and I can send you pictures!

Superior

My wife and my experience with Great Basin Solar was superior from start to finish. Travis, the owner, was honest, personable, professional, and responsive. His company is locally-based, which made our experience even more fulfilling. I appreciated that the owner met with me and offered candid insights on exactly how my house was going to be modified. His depth of knowledge (certified in three different areas) was clear in the way he discussed installation, financing, and inspection processes. His solar design software was cutting edge and easy to understand. We were as much a part of the design process as we wanted to be. We felt comfortable relying on Travis' expertise, but got to contribute fully. He explained the financing process clearly, without glossing over any details. We now pay a monthly loan installment instead of paying the energy company. The install team was friendly and efficient. They finished everything in a little more than two days (sometimes it's less). Getting permits done was a breeze because Travis took care of all the details. We just read and signed the paperwork. My wife and I had the excitement today of turning on our system now that we have received Permission to Operate from NV Energy!

Professional Product. No Sales BS

Travis and his team are a real benefit to the community. They were willing to install a pre-existing system that I moved here from California. They took care of everything, including working with NV Energy to get an upgrade to 200 amps on my main service. No cookie cutter sales team here! Everyone knows what they are doing and are willing to work with the client to get an exceptional result.

Professional

Travis contacted us in the middle of November 2019 per my request, and that's when we started the process. We signed the contract in late Nov. and our site survey was done the first week of December. Great Basin Solar had our application submitted to NV-Energy by December 27th and then we waited. Travis contacted us early January and gave us a target start date and ended up starting two days earlier than projected! The installers Matthew and Seth were very professional and courteous and the equipment installation and wiring over to the inverter were complete in two days! The electricians Will and Thad showed up a day or two later and finished the wiring at the main panel. Now we wait for the inspector and NV-Energy to do their part and we should be on the grid! Great Basin Solar has a great monitoring system and warranty. Travis took the time to answer our questions and explained it in laymen terms. Thanks! Great Basin Solar
