ES Solar

Our experience with ES Solar has been mixed, and unfortunately the negatives outweigh the positives. The salesman misrepresented the actual cost we would owe after rebates. He quoted us an interest‑only payment and made it sound like our final cost would be far lower than it truly was. Once everything was finalized, we learned the real numbers — and they were nowhere near what we were told. The battery system we purchased has not been worth the money. Based on the actual performance and the true cost, it will take far longer than its guaranteed lifespan to break even. Had we been given accurate information upfront, we would not have moved forward with this part of the system. To be fair, the installation team was excellent. They were on time, professional, and completed the work quickly. The workmanship was solid, and they did everything they said they would. But overall, the cost simply isn’t worth the squeeze. The sales tactics were misleading, and the value of the battery does not justify the price. I wish the installation team’s quality matched the honesty of the sales process.

Decided to have have ES Solar come out and do a site survey on solar panel installation for our home. Our sales rep. Korbin was professional, knowledgeable, and easy to work with throughout the installation. Installers were excellent and know their job well. We ended up with 32/400 watt panels on our home and the installation was fast, done well, and the installers taught us a lot about the system. We opted for a 10KVA backup battery to the system to reduce our use night time power use. The system has been about as transparent (user wise) as getting your power from the grid. We are generating significantly more power than we use back feeding the grid but our power bill for the last 20 months has been about $15.00! That's down from $350.00 a month enduring summer air conditioning bills. I have seen some of the complaints from customer feedback and I do not know or want to comment others peoples situations, all I can do is tell you of our experience. We had absolutely a great experience dealing with ES Solar and their entire sales team, installers, and the quality of the work. GREAT JOB ES SOLAR TEAM!!! ES Solar added a Powerwall 3 to my existing solar panel array. It is an amazing upgrade. They were professional and competent at every step of the process. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

What I was sold and told during my sales presentation is not even close to what i got. I was told for the same price as im paying for electrical services I can get solar panels. Not true. I was told no more electric bills and in some case that I would get money back from the power company, also not true. I was told the system is hassle free if there are any problems they have a team that will take care of it, again not true. My expenses so far is my solar panels cost 150.00 more a month than originally presented, my electric bill is still between 60-100 a month and my inverter has failed twice, my battery system has failed and been replaced and it’s next to impossible to get someone out and take care of it. I have sent several emails attempting to resolve issues and nothing has changed. So if you want to double your electrical cost for a system that consistently breaks and shuts down….then this is the company for you. (Sarcasm)

Dallin and his roofing team impressed me with their professionalism, speed and quality. Was expecting a 2 day job, but they started early and finished by 3:30 pm on day 1. The roof looks great, they cleaned up really well and communicated just the right amount! The battery team did a great job with the battery install. Completing on time and provide all the details I needed to use the Sonnen system. Everything is working as expected today. Definitely recommend ES for roofing and Solar/battery installs in your home.

Would give this company a zero star rating if it would allow it. Everything at first was great until things that were promised to you in the sale and paperwork. Was told my payment wouldn’t be for six months when actually was only 90 days which made my payment double what was disclosed to me. I wasn’t supposed to have a payment tell after my tax rebate and all other rebates that were promised. All was told I would receive 500$ from the salesperson to help if I had to make one payment before the six months and also a 500$ welcome gift. I have tried contacting this business multiple times with no success no call backs no emails back. Poor customer service seams to be there place in this business. I feel like I was scammed big time by this company just so they could get there sale and dip out with my money.

Would give installation, project manger and commissioning groups 5 stars but lack of communication from salesperson and “enhanced services group”, I can only do 4 stars

We went over by last years electric bill and we already had 21 panels on the house. we paid around $100-$150 a month. ES Solar salesman and engineer looked over everything as said we should add 8 more panels and a battery to get us down to just the grid fee. We decided to go with the plan and now we 29 panels and a battery, we only charge our cars during the time our panels are getting solar, we removed a garage fridge and stopped running dishwasher, and laundry when the panels get a charge. now are electric bill is higher than it was prior to making those changes. we pay over $200 a month, the solar edge app shows we are also giving power back to the grid after our battery is fully charged. we have called ES Solar so many times and nobody gets back to us but they say they are looking into it. I had to ensure the solar and the battery were installed based on the timeline they provided us and I had to call over ten times for the rebate check from ES Solar and for them to provide the power company the documents for that rebate check as well. poor company, all they want is to make a sale. The installers were great and polite.

I had an appointment with ES Solar at 10:am on 6/18/25 and this company was a no show, no call, nothing! This is not the kind of company I want to do business with. Hope no one else has this kind of service. To have an appointment and have a no show for a consultation is not the way to start a business deal. If I did this to my customers, I would not have a business. If I could put negative stars I would.

ES Solar has been a fantastic company to work with. However, within 4 months of a $26,000 battery backup installation the system has quit working. The Solar Edge system no longer produces any power of any kind. The biggest issue is there is no support from Solar Edge to fix the issue. ES Solar is trying to help fix the issue but as of this point the $26,000 investment is a waste of time.

Great company to work with. Ruben and Kyler were great with communication and setting expectations and following up. Install was good, crew cleaned up and explained everything as they went along.

I contacted ES Solar after seeing an add on UTube. ES Solar connected with me by phone within hours and we set the ball rolling! All the people we worked with and talked with were polite, respectful, listened well and responded to our questions and concerns. The purchase went very smoothly, with ES Solar recommending Credit Human Credit Union as the financial institution handling the loan. The actual installation went as smooth as possible, even though it was interrupted by sever weather conditions! Inspections were done in a timely manner and we were well informed when the Inspections took place. We are very pleased with our purchase, very pleased to have selected ES Solar as the company to work with for this project! Thank you to all the nice people we worked with: Jaeger, Jamie, Mica, Jared, Enoch and several others!

My experience with ES Solar gave me great confidence in the product. Customer Service always responded quickly via email and phone. My husband and I appreciated the knowledge that technicians brought to the table. Adding the Tesla Powerwall 3 will greatly expand our power abilities during daily use and especially during power outages.

These guys are great to work with. Good communication, very polite installers, and knowledgeable staff. They got my project handled quickly. Looking forward to continuing with them.

Very poor customer service and solar production is sub par and does not produce like the salesman said it would I have had my system for a few years now and it consistently does not produce enough electricity and I am stuck with a 300 dollar solar bill on top of my 100 dollar electric bill I would highly discourage anyone thinking about getting solar was one of the biggest Mistakes I have made plus customer service is very hard to get anything accomplished have waited 3 months for them to audit my system just to try to get money back from all the extra electrical bills that I shouldn’t have to pay on top of my solar loan which in the past has only added up to them giving back 200 dollars of my over a 1000 dollars of electrical bills very disappointing

My husband I and I recently had the Tesla Power wall installed with ES solar. We've had solar panels for several years, and they worked smoothly with our existing panels. Their team worked quickly and efficiently. Shortly after our install we had several emails from Rocky Mountain reporting a power outage in our area due to an accident. We did not have any interruption at all! We are so excited to have a way to store energy from our solar panels to be used when we really need it. Thank you ES Solar!

ES Solar is absolutely top notch! Super professional, friendly and most important, they love to answer your questions. They did my original solar in 2020 and just recently installed a battery backup system. Michael came over for the final check and was able to teach even an old lady like me the nitty gritty of this system, as well as help me understand the rebates and the app to watch everything. So grateful for their time and professionalism. They are the best at what they do, I will never use anyone else!

Installed in November, and they still have not fixed the issue they created with our security cameras. Their solution, they told us to hire someone to fix it and if they say it's their fault, they will reimburse us. Poor practice, very sad.

Crappy Customer service!They make promises they will not keep. Not very easy to get a hold of if you need to talk with them. If you call all you get is a machine to leave a message and hope they call you back. When you do get a hold of them they do not help in any way. Find someone else do not us them.

We own our own business with several sensitive machines (lasers, 3d printers, CNC, computers, etc.) that work from our home. The area we moved to had a tendency to have hiccups on the grid that would ruin a lot of the items we were working on with those machines. We decided to get Solar with a battery so we wouldn’t have any more ruined products from our machines stopping because of grid hiccups. (We also just like the idea of being super prepared) We moved into a new neighborhood and ES Solar was going around to each house about every other month seeing if people wanted to sign up for it. The first red flag: when they come to your house they claim to be with Rocky Mountain Power asking if things are working well. While ES Solar may work alongside Rocky Mountain Power, telling their sales reps to go to each house and say that is very misleading. But I wanted solar anyway so I decided to overlook that. We signed up around October 2022. Our installation was supposed to happen in January 2023, which we were okay with waiting. Things kept getting delayed. 2nd red flag: I kept getting texts about how our permit with the county was taking longer than usual. I got this text several times until our Solar was finally installed April 28 (4 months late!). After it was installed I kept getting texts about our permits with the county, so I know that’s just a lie and an excuse for being late instead of just saying, “Hey, sorry but we’re running behind schedule” they blame it on the county permits. I had to call a couple times to get them to turn that auto text off for me. I would be much happier with the truth of running behind schedule than lying and blaming it on the county. 3rd red flag: After it was installed, we couldn’t actually use it for 1.5 weeks because the inspector had to come 3 times because the installers kept messing it up! This took place over a few months and after ES Solar finally installed it correctly, it worked great for 2 weeks in July. 4th red flag: Then it didn’t work for the next 3 months as our battery kept not connecting, other power problems, and being constantly shuffled to the next person in ES Solar to fix our problem. After each time someone came to our house, we were told “It should work fine after this!” We would lose power a couple times a day. Our microwave power stopped working, tightened screws 7-10 times, neutral wire problems 3-4 times, and even changed out our battery and the head unit completely 2 times. We had people especially flown in from SLC and California to come look at the problem, but it still wasn’t fixed. As for our small business, we had to just take a lot of losses with all the power problems messing up our machines. Needless to say, I was extremely frustrated. Two of the workers (at different times) that had been with us most of the time said we should request some compensation for all the problems we had. 5th red flag: After talking a lot to the workers who kept coming out to fix (almost daily at this point), we discovered that we were promised a lot of things from our sales rep that would not happen. I specifically told our sales rep that I needed something that would keep our machines going if there was a grid hiccup. He said we would never have a hiccup again (pure lie). In fact, if the power did go out we would have a few second delay while our battery kicked in. That was the worst lie among the others our sales rep told us. 6th red flag: We thought we were good after some “software updates” fixed the latest problem and most of November we were perfect (should never have thought that). Now we’re back to having problems again, but this time no one is getting back to us. I’ve contacted Customer Support in Layton, UT and they set up a request for us for someone in ID to get back to us and fix the problem again. Haven’t heard anything for a month even though they said they would call me back in a few days. I called them again, this time requesting some compensation for all the problems, but they said no because it’s under warranty. I just want all the solar panels and the battery gone and off my property at this point. I want nothing to do with ES Solar. I don’t want it fixed anymore, I WANT IT GONE. ES Solar is absolutely not worth this long drawn out process, the $47,000 price tag, and constant problems with my at-home business. I don't know if I can sue them successfully, but I am looking into it.

My experience with ES Solar has been great! Chris L was exceptional in getting the process underway. They have seamlessly taken care of each process along the way with excellent communication. Excellent quality and excellent service! Everyone on the team has been great throughout the whole process. I would highly recommend ES Solar to anyone making the decision to get solar. They are simply the best in Utah!

I booked a second appt. after spending time with Jeremy for a first time, getting all my info. He never bothered to show up for the second appt. and never texted until AFTER his no show. Just unprofessional. Fortunately that piqued my interest to see if they were horrible with others. Surprise surprise. You find all the negative reviews here. I was upset when he no showed me but it sounds like I dodged a bullet.
