Update* They are reborn and hired experienced solar installers. New great people. I highly recommend Elan solar. Very talented team from sales rep to installers. Lincoln Williams is very nice and honest sales rep. He is not at all pushy like other sales rep. I must tell this company gave best Quote in Salt Lake City. Now let me tell you this Company has outstanding service. But They are very busy. My work was pushed 3 days straight but I did not mind it. All I want is Quality. Installers did amazing job. Their finishing is very nice. No mess left behind. They were was so nice and cleared all my doubts . From this we can tell they care about their customers. Their work is so perfect that City inspector was impressed how my Enphase Inverter were installed in less space with proper CODE outside next to the main service panel. They use REC Brand Panels which are Assembled and best quality panels. Also all Solar panels and parts comes with a warranty that is by default. if incase any panels or Inventor goes bad they will fix it for you with no cost. That is very nice. Usually I don't write review in DETAIL but this Company did really good job with Solar PV installation system. Specially when it comes with brand new House. Thank you Elan solar. Just don’t. I had to ask them to come take it all off my roof and terminate the contract to get a response. A month later they finally got the job done. We are waiting on RMP now, but we started on Aug 11 and it’s February 13! Nothing like ghosting and gaslighting to make you regret doing business with any door to door sales. Lesson learned.

About 1 month later, they finally showed up on the third attempt, but did not provide all documentation necessary which caused the inspection to fail. During this time (from install until now), I was only ever able to reach anyone at all after 3 days of nearly constantly calling. I was promised a follow up several times, but only received one once. Had I known they were this difficult to work with after dealing with their sales rep, I never would have moved forward with them and would have been happy to spend more money with anyone else. My advice is to avoid this company like the plague. Anywhere else will likely be easier to work with, and they weren't competitive enough with pricing to be even remotely worth the headache.

We cancelled our sign up with a different solar company, the Elan rep told us they would reimburse us the cancellation fee from their paycheck, and that never happened because Elan never paid out the entire commission to their sales reps--they only paid our rep 50% of the commission he should have made. Most of the sales team left. We have been passed around to customer service rep after customer service rep, each promising to "do something" about the $500 referral bonus we are owed, the $1215 cancellation fee the rep promised to reimburse us, and the $828 they owe us for the months we have been paying for solar that does not work. We have yet to have someone from *any* department follow through on their promise to call back when they say they will, and at this point I am shocked that a rep even came out last week to tell us that our converter needs to be replaced (who knows when that will happen). I am meeting with the COO next week, though I imagine this will be someone who was not with Elan when we signed up and our complaints will fall on deaf ears of people who are unwilling to own up to their dishonest and poor quality business practices.

When **** contacted me after to see how I liked my install, I recommended they buy him a ski pass because I was so happy with his work. The only thing I would have done different was to move panels so they were not partially over my back porch. I did not realize it until the first snow melted off that it might be a challenge.

Panels were installed in January. It is September and I have yet to see any more progress. I ordered a battery and have been told it would be installed in February, late April, June, and September. I have called them many times and have gone to their Orem office and still no customer service.

Elan Solar is a terrible service. They lead you on for months and then tell you that they will send out an expert. Then the expert never shows up, and they lead you on for several more months. You have to make all the calls and the emails and they still do not follow through. At least 2 of our Solar Panels are still broken and they haven't even activated our account.

I paid for my system last June...it started working in October...stopped working in December....and I have called/emailed every week since...we are now in March with out working panels and NO response from Elan. I am paying my full electric bill even though I have a solar system on the house. There is no support, no follow through and no customer service!

It has been 12 months since they were paid to install our system and 2 months since they installed the panels but still have not installed the actual battery bank which was 1/4 of the cost of our system. I have had to call them multiple times every week to get any information and they keep scheduling appointments to asses what needs to happen to resolve the situation that their techs just keep no showing. Their battery installs are apparently all managed by a single person. This person is next to impossible to reach since they will take random multi hour lunch breaks and will just leave early or show up late. I have left dozens of requests for call back over the last 10 months and he has not called me back a single time. I have even tried emailing him and have never received a single response.

I love my solar panels! They look beautiful and they work great and it is fun to check the daily energy production on the phone app. Kevin Colarusso was amazing to work with! There was one point where a miscommunication happened with the engineer, and, although it is company policy to ask the customer about decision on placing the panels, that step was accidentally missed and I was not asked about an alternative place for the panels to be installed on my room. The installation crew came and installed the panels quickly and I talked to the crew when I saw the panels were not in the spot I thought they would be. The workers were very polite and showed me their instructions on where to place the panels, and the workers were following what they had been told to do and the installation was just being finished. I contacted Kevin because I was upset in not being told that the plan had changed. Kevin and the other people at Elan Solar were very polite to me and quickly recognized that one communication step was missed that usually is not missed by their group. Then they quickly resolved the situation, asking what my preference was, offered to move the panels without charge and fix the roof where they had been installed, if it was what I wanted. After considering both locations, I realized I did want the originally discussed location, so they removed the panels and placed them in the originally planned place on the house and professionally patching the roof where the panels were originally setup so that the roof was indeed returned to its original look and I cannot tell at all that anything was once installed there, and I checked the work inside the attic and the seals were properly done so that it won't leak. Obviously having the panels installed in an alternative position without talking to me and having them moved is less than ideal. However, ALL people involved were professional, friendly, wanted to do what I wanted done, they RAPIDLY fixed the problem and fixed it very well. Even with having to move the panels, the process from first consolation with Kevin to the day I turned the system on was 10 weeks. This is a very reasonable timeline since many steps happened along the way: consultation & decision making, setting up financing, city inspection and approval to build, installation of panels (in my case, two installations and a roof repair), city inspection, energy company approval and inspection, installation of meters (and one meter must be installed by the energy company and not by Elan Solar), turning on the system, and resolving digital reporting issues from the system and meters to the online reporting. I received phone calls each week letting me know what step they were at and what to expect next. It was an amazing process and completely worth it! I love having solar energy!

This is a very reasonable timeline since many steps happened along the way: consultation & decision making, setting up financing, city inspection and approval to build, installation of panels (in my case, two installations and a roof repair), city inspection, energy company approval and inspection, installation of meters (and one meter must be installed by the energy company and not by Elan Solar), turning on the system, and resolving digital reporting issues from the system and meters to the online reporting. I received phone calls each week letting me know what step they were at and what to expect next. It was an amazing process and completely worth it! I love having solar energy!
