Certasun

Working with Certasun was a pleasure.

This is an Illinois based company that installs Sunpower panels and guarantees their installation and performance as well as the Illinois Shines payment. They have an arrangement for an interest free loan to offset the Illinois Shines payment so you don't have to pay in full before receiving the Shines payment. The installation crew were efficient and professional. The building inspector in our town (whom we know to be picky) said this was the best solar installation he had seen.

Easy and professional installation

We originally signed a contract with Sunrun, but they were not able to work with an older house with non standard rafter spacing. Certain handled it without any major problems.

So easy

The process was so smooth, we really didn’t have to do anything! I’ve bought household appliance that requires more effort to get installed. Very nice people too

Wonderful from start to finish!

We cannot say enough about the entire Certasun team! From Catia for the initial consultation, to Jennifer guiding through each phase of the install to Jordan and finally to Ben who was the lead installer at our home- all were amazing! Every part of the process was as-promised and on time! We are totally satisfied. We looked at several other solar companies before Certasun, but we felt as if we were being pressured to make a decision and the contracts were confusing or with hidden terms. Certasun was straight-forward and no-nonsense. All terms were explained and there was complete transparency throughout the process. They worked with our village for permitting and inspection and gave plenty of lead-time and worked around our schedules. Special thank-you to Ben and his team at the house. They took care of our home and property like it was their own- friendly and accommodating too! We started generating power right away and the app is so informative. If you are considering solar (and you should be!) I highly recommend Certasun.

Easy Smooth Installation

Certasun's employees always presented themselves on a professional level. My wife and I were pleased that they were transparent in every step of the process. The actual Installation was quick. We are very happy with the whole process and experience.

Patient, Professional, and with you each step of the journey!

My wife and I had been looking into solar panels for our home. We've had friends in the neighborhood get them installed from various companies. After doing our own research, we decided that we wanted to go with a Sunpower system because all the components were made and supported by Sunpower. We got Certasun's contact information from Sunpower's dealer list and gave them a call. I'm so glad we did. The team at Certasun was extremely patient through all of our questions. They worked around our schedule and handled all the permits, paperwork, and red-tape for us! The installation team was top-notch and looks amazing on our roof! We couldn't be happier with the service we've received from the Certasun Team! Thank you!

Professional from Initial Discussion through Final Inspection

Certasun was professional and knowledgeable from initial discussions through to Final Inspection. The step by step process allowed my project to move quickly through the initial paperwork, site evaluation, permit process, installation, and final inspection in 60 days. Each team member was detailed in response to all my questions. Thank you Certasun team!

Rodrigo Rico’s installation team was top notch!

We chose Certasun based off a friend’s recommendation and the data provided on Certasun’s website.

Easy to work with

Whole process was smooth right from quote till installation.

Great company to get your solar power going!

They handle every thing from start to finish, very proficiently. Very knowledgeable staff and only provide excellent top of the line products, with best warranty.

The process was easy it does take some time so you have to be pa

If you live in Aurora you have to wait on multiple inspections and the permits can really slow everything down.

Excellent Work By Certasun

From my first discussion with a Certasun salesperson to the final inspection when they turned on solar panels, and all the steps in between, the Certasun team impressed us by being knowledgeable, conscientious, and professional.. They are committed to their work and care about their customers. Many thanks for such fine work. King Poor Winnetka, Illinois .

Awesome service!!

I researched six solar company before choosing Certasun. I based it on the product, clean installation and previous cust replys. Speaking to Certasun's consultant for the first time you can tell the difference. He wasn't pushy or trying to over sell. He answered my questions gave me important information to look at when choosing my equipment. Sunpower was a complete package for us. They had made in the USA equipment, a leader in solar energy, not just getting into it like others out there. The rack system, panels and inverters all made by Sunpower. This important because other companies have a mix of suppliers on their systems. Certasun installers are the BEST!! You don't see any exposed pipes on my roof like other installers. Once the zinc coating wears off off the others company's exposed pipes the rust starts. If you want a 1st class installation and equipment give these guys a call.

Communicative, Easy to Work With

After getting quotes from a few different solar companies, we chose Certasun for a few reasons: they're an established company, have excellent reviews from previous customers, and offer high quality solar panels with one of the best warranties on the market at a competitive price compared with other, lower quality panels. They were a little more expensive than other companies due to the higher panel quality and warranty, but the SunPower panels have a substantially better annual degradation rating. When other installers quoted higher quality panels more comparable to the SunPower panels from Certasun, Certasun was much cheaper. After comparing the various offerings, the premium for Certasun and SunPower panels was very small or net positive amortized over the lifetime of the equipment, due to the lower panel degradation. During the permitting and installation process, Certasun was very easy to work with, and kept in close communication to keep us up to date on their progress throughout the permit application, approval, installation and inspection processes. It was a great experience end to end, which is much better than I can say for most of the other contractors I have worked with in the past for various home projects. I would strongly recommend Certasun and SunPower panels.

Helpful and considerate

I was considering four companies and selected Certasun for several reasons. 1.) They were truly local to the Chicago area. 2.) They were responsive to my inquiries and requests in a timely fashion. 3.) They offered good equipment and a coupon. 4.) The customer I spoke with was very enthusiastic about them. 5.) They offered me a chance to pay off the remainder of my expenses with referrals.

Exceeded my expectations

Well organized and courtesy installation team. My 1870's row house provided some unexpected challenges, but the team was great about problem solving. It did take many more months than anticipated to do the install, but that was more on the part of waiting for city permits and weather to cooperate. I'm floored with how low my energy bills have been since installing (even in the late winter months my system was still producing a good amount!)

Great team and company

Bill Wayne was super responsive and fun to work with . The inspection person and installation team were extremely professional, everything was completed before I could know.

An excellent choice.

Top-quality products and professional installation and support.

Professional and well trained people.

Easy people to work with. Clean and efficient install with no surprises.Made every effort to make the project work for me.

Professional Quality

Time will tell whether my system turns out to be a good value; I've only had it in operation for a couple of weeks and I haven't received the state incentives yet. But the spec sheet on these SunPower photovoltaic panels is outstanding. The company, CertaSun was easy to work with. They were not pushy at all, just gave me the information I was asking for and let me think about it. When I decided to buy a system for my house and go ahead with the project, they were respectful of my Home Owners' Association guidelines and patient when the HOA asked if the panels could be reconfigured so there weren't as many in the front of the house. They procured the Village building permit. They did the job in 2 days, and were very professional. The finished project looks neat and tidy, with minimal external conduit or wiring. I am referring them to anyone who is at all interested. They were great to work with.

Installers did a great job, took no shortcuts.

Everything was done very well. A slight hiccup with severing the garage power supply was quickly fixed the next day to better than how it was previously set up. Great group of installers and Meagan was great through the whole sales and planning stage beforehand. Definately suggest Certasun for solar projects!
