Brooklyn Solar did a fantastic job with our 8 kW rooftop install earlier this year. We just got our updated Con Ed bill and chopped $200 off the electricity costs for March. Cannot say enough good things about this company.

Brooklyn solar installed solar panels on my roof in early March. My bill for the previous month was $514. My bill after activation was $41. They did a great job installed in one day made sure that the panels had netting around the bottom so so no animals we get underneath the process was easy and they went through the landmark commission and got all the certifications done within less than a week

Brooklyn Solar Works completed my installation in December 2025, just before the expiration of the federal tax credits. It was a long time in coming because I needed to complete a major project on my roof. BSW was accommodating and helpful throughout the entire process. It is extremely rare to find a contractor with their level of professionalism, attention to detail, responsiveness to all questions and concerns, and follow-through after the installation. Installation was quick and professional. Afterwards they made sure the required inspections and sign-offs happened without delay, and they helped me with the paper work needed to get my tax credits. The whole process was as seamless as could be expected. And the system is now cranking out the power more than expected, even through a cloudy, snowy winter. I couldn't recommend them highly enough! It was a pleasure to work with the entire team. I am also very happy with the tracking performance of the inverter. I can follow mostly in real time what my system is producing and the site is very easy to navigate.

The were so helpful, and not pushy at all. Came, did an assessment, shared a quote with us--Asked ahead of time what color we wanted the conduit painted so when it went up on my building it was already painted. The were careful, efficient and pleasant. They actually completed the entire job in one day! Great customer follo up. I couldn't be happier with the steep reduction in my bill with Con Ed. Thanks!

The sales part, permitting, helping explaining financing was all excellent. The system was installed and connected to the grid faster than expected. The reason why I’m only rating 3/5 is that I’ve had a small issue with the consumption part in the enphase app not being correct. It seems to be an issue with the CT clamps(?). I spoke with the PM and told him about the issue on 6/13. He said sometimes it does that and to give it 24-48 hours. On 6/15 I left a message that I was still having the problem. No response On 6/17 I called the main office line and they took my name and message and the PM will call me back. No response. 6/18 called the main number again and PM just popped into a meeting he’ll call me back. Finally got a call back and he said they pushed a software update and give it 24-48 hours. I believe here they just reversed polarity issue. 6/20 called the PM again and left another message. No response 6/26 called again…… also tried calling main number both no answer. Look I get that you’re busy but what if I had a real problem? Can I expect this type of treatment as well?? I really wish someone would follow up without me having to leave a bad review to get your attention.

After spending years trying to find a solar installer in the 5 boroughs, I finally was referred to Brooklyn Solar Works. My experience with this installer was top notch. The whole sales process was seamless and they took care of everything for us ! They are local and come highly recommended, so I felt that was the best option to go with someone local who knew there way around the permitting process. The value was great to, I also found that they were the only company offering power production guarantees on there system. Also our installation took one day and the installers were all so nice and did a fabulous job. This was a no brainer for me and my husband. Don't look any further go for Brooklyn Solar Works.

I contacted several companies for proposals for solar on the roof of my brownstone in Brooklyn. Several companies wanted me to sign agreements with them just to do an assessment! Brooklyn SolarWorks stood out for its clear communication. The quote itself was in line with all the others. From beginning to end (5 months), I had a single point of contact. They clearly explained what would happen and then it happened exactly as explained. I received responses to all of my questions in a timely fashion. The only hiccup was that we had to push the installation back due to an ice storm. The installation itself was very quick. Everyone I spoke to from sales reps to electricians and laborers was professional and well-informed. My system was randomly selected for an inspection from NYSERDA and the inspector said BSW did a great job and that he almost never sees major issues from them (but often sees major issues from many other installers). The system has been running smoothly for 2.5 months and I'm generating >100% of my usage (we'll see what happens when it's time to turn on the AC this summer). Altogether I'm a very happy customer!

After shopping around for Solar, Brooklyn Solarworks was clearly a step above their competitors. From the beginning of the process all project documentation was clear and concise. This made the project very smooth even though there are many other factors for NYC solar (tax credits, abatements, permits, etc.) Highly recommend for any flat roof NYC homeowners that want to go solar. Day of installers were on time, professional and very neat/orderly.

The service was great. They completed the install a day earlier than promised and I'm getting almost 100% of my electric bill covered. Plus it just feels good to have solar power installed (guilt-free air conditioning). Very happy I took the plunge.

We interviewed a number of solar installers and BSW had the clearest and most transparent proposal that was filled with info and easy to understand. Staff was also always available to answer any questions. Once we decided to go with BSW their design and installation team was outstanding - completing everything within the time frame they set and again - always responsive and available to answer any questions or to address any concerns. Since the solar installation was completed, it has worked exactly as predicted. The overall experience met and exceeded all my expectations. Thank you Brooklyn Solar! You all are amazing!

I chose Brooklyn SolarWorks because they were prepared to put solar panels on a flat roof which many companies are not. My experience with them was great. In addition to the actual installation and everything that has to do with it, they take charge of the loan process and communicate to the city so you get the 40% reduction on your real estate taxes automatically and do what needs to be done to get the federal tax rebate. It is such a smooth operation and they stay in touch after it is done - even years after. I wouldn't consider any other company.

It's been 3 years since our solar array was installed with the success of the decision far exceeding our expectations. Unlike many solar providers, Brooklyn Solar Works has impeccable customer service that is likely the best in the New York City market. Our property is a townhouse with multiple units that requires a customized approach with the ability to make changes post installation. For instance, when we moved from unit 1 to unit 2 in our building a year after the array was installed, Brooklyn Solar Works's expertise ensured a seamless transition to switch the solar connection. Currently we have energy credits building thanks to production beyond what we anticipated. This means that in the near future we will be hooking up the solar array to every unit in the building to enable our tenants to benefit from the same clean energy while simultaneously cutting their electric bill by 90%. And while it's been fantastic to go green in a big way, the long term cost savings are just as desirable. In less than 5 years the system, when accounting for tax credits, will fully pay for itself. And with a minimum anticipated lifespan of 25 years, it will pay for itself multiple times over. If you're still on the fence about going solar, don't waste another minute! Make the decision to go solar with Brooklyn Solar Works - you won't regret it.

We had quite unusual requirements for our project. We have a bulkhead, 3 skylights, and a large container garden on our roof. also, we hung out up there a lot - eating dinner, doing yoga, entertaining, etc. So the canopies BSW is used to building did not suit our project. But we worked together to find a solution, and ultimately brought in a separate steel fabricator / contractor who was able to design/build a custom canopy that met all our unusual needs. Now we have 34 solar panels which produce more that we use every year, and makes a nice bit of shade thru the mid day which greatly increases appeal and comfort for people as well as plants! AS a company I'd say they are well organized, hard working, responsive to requests and questions. veryone that was on our jobs seemed well trained and on the same page throughout. a rEally great experience that has raised our Q of L considerably!

I'm was impressed by how smoothly everything went, despite the weird old wiring in my basement. The actual rooftop system went up in a couple of days and BSW handled all the utility, inspections and city tax paperwork. The rooftop canopy produces a lot of power and doesn't obstruct roof access. Highly recommend.

There are always surprises with an old house and landmarked building. Brooklyn SolarWorks made it all easy for me from my first inquiry through implementation. They keep you posted on the process and are flexible when there are hiccups (electrical situation with Con Ed for me). I highly recommend them - and, the results have been amazing. My electric bill has never been more than the basic fees to maintain option to stay on the grid!

I contacted BSW because I wanted a solar system that I could own. The representative asked me for my address and utility company bill. Within one day, I received a proposal with a 3D diagram of what the system would look like on my roof and the full breakdown of federal and state tax incentives. The rep came to my house and gave me facts not sales tactics. The next day I made a 10% deposit.

Love these guys! They walked us through a very complicated process--architecting the solution, navigating the DOB and ConEd, pricing, and getting loans--and made it feel easy, simple, and quick.
