Pge true up bill

I would leave zero stars but I had to choose one in order to post this review. We went with bland because they were recommended to us. We had them come out and install solar panels on our house. Cost was about 45,000 only to receive a bill at the end of the year for our true up, which was $10,000 through PG&E. I’m contacting an attorney.And suing!!!

It was easy to contact the company and make an appointment, which is rare with companies these days. After our AC unit was assessed, we were shown photos of each part on our personal unit and received an explanation of what each part does. Any repair necessary was detailed, and there was no pressure to do all the work at that time, although it was an option. All the parts we needed were really available to our technician, and all the work was done quickly and efficiently. We had our solar installed by Bland, and we will now continue to use them for our HVAC needs.

Warranty Charges

My system was installed by Bland Company in 2015 and I have had four inverts go bad and they were replaced without too much delay. I have a problem with the basic installation of the roof standoff brackets installation and they leaked, but upon notification they were very responsive to fix the problem! GREAT! BUT, now I have one panel that stopped producing power. I called to ask for a service call to fix problem and was quoted a $149.00 service call charge would be made to diagnose problem??? I don't yet know the final outcome of this issue, but will definitely run it by legal advisor and California State Contractors License Board for an opinion.

Words simply cannot express our gratitude to City Councilman, Andrae Gonzalez, the Bland Company and their staff Jack D Darrah, Colt Epps, Jenae Roberts, David Coston and the rest of the team, MLK Community Initiative, Bentley Bowl, Jason Cater with the City Economic Development and the community at-large who joined in the celebration… Bland is to be commended for their high level of professionalism, performance, kindness, sincerity and most importantly their generosity in giving back to the community!! I vacillate between smiles and tears when I gaze at my new roof compliments of the Bland Company, and Andrae for selecting us to be the first to receive this wonderful gift! In my 80 years on the Planet, but most especially in Bakersfield, I have never experienced such joy, excitement and satisfaction, that was brought to our doorstep, as that which was provided by this phenomenal experience with the Bland Company!!! The ROOF LOOKS AHMAZING!!!!! Thankh you Bland for caring about our community and doing such excellent work! Service Call

Alex did a great job today fixing my solar issue in about an hour. Showed me pictures of the root cause and fix that was made. Explained how the house was on two different systems for monitoring and ensured both were up to date, how to access them and things to look for to detect a future outage. The education was worth the price of the service call.

In June 2024 I began multiple projects with The Bland Company totaling $45,340. The projects include a new roof, new water heater, 2 whole house fans and a SOLAR panel system. EVERY area of installation for all of these jobs was met with promises not kept, shoddy workmanship that required multiple conversations to fix and repeated incompetents. The 6 months of frustration were discussed thru the “foreman” Jesse Darrah who happens to be an owner of this company. He repeatedly apologized and assured me it would be done right. Every aspect of my projects had serious problems and work done contrary to mutually agreed conversations. I will not go thru each issue other than say I strongly warn anyone considering doing business with The Bland Company. In November we FINALLY get city approval and The Bland Company turns on the Solar System. I was assured that when the system was active I’d be educated on the system and the phone app. As well as navigating PG&E. This NEVER happened and in December I contacted PG&E MYSELF only to find I did not have approval to produce power AND my system should not be connected to the grid! Again BLAND dropped the ball… when I texted Jesse the owner and “foreman” ghosts me and has someone I’ve never met call- the Bland Companys comment was “do you want me to disconnect it”…?! I didn’t mention employees on my roof vaping, disgruntled employees discussing the “new owners” and an instillation crew watching YouTube videos to “learn”(still got it wired incorrectly). My recommendation is beware of this company. Contact me for detailed pictures, correspondence/notes/texts of my ordeal.

Very Disappointing Customer Service

A year after installation, attempted to call their main line (661) 836-3880. No one answers the phone and mailbox is full. They only respond text. Texted them a while back to troubleshoot my Enphase Gateway not communicating and schedule technician. Took them 1 week to respond on text and they said next availability is 1 month out for technician. I am a long time Bland solar customer. Disappointing "after sales" customer service/support.

Jorge from Bland was very professional and kind. He showed me the actual parts he recommended replacing, and why. He gave me a thorough report of what he did and the results. In Bakersfield heat, I definitely want my AC to be in good shape! I expect my AC will function at top efficiency after Jorge’s maintenance, cleaning, and repair!.

We purchased a solar installation from Bland. It was a positive experience and salesman Jim McClean did a through job walking us through the process. The solar installation team was very professional and left the worksite neat and clean every day. The company as a whole was pleasant to deal with and has been very responsive. I would use them again, and I feel confident they will provide quality warranty service if needed. Update 60 days post installation: We still do not have a working battery on self-consumption mode. Delays resulted from Bland's submission to PG&E using the incorrect form requesting connection to the grid, according to the project coordinator. This has been resolved and should not affect future installations. Further delays have apparently resulted from stalled parts orders for smaller IC modules needed for power management.

My experience with Bland Solar was great. Start to finish they took care of business. I was actually becoming friends with the 2 installers but then they were done. I enjoyed them so much that I bought them treats for there drive to and from Bakersfield. Miss you guys. Thanks for the great work. Am getting excited about not paying PG&E any more money.

Best possible solar experience

It was only 6 weeks from the time I walked into Bland Solar and received a solar design for my roof until I was online generating more power back to the grid than I was using!. They were fast, professional and truthful regarding every stage of planning and installation. They recommended an excellent bank for seamless financing at the best possible price and took care of all permiting needed. I get monlthly updates on on my solar array production which has exceeded their predictions by a comfortable cushion. And to top it off, the panal type and roof arrangement suggested by Bland retains the beauty of my mountain home. I highly recommend Bland for your solar needs.

My install

I got bids from 5 solar companies and Bland was the best price. Two other things made the decision for me first I liked that each panel could generate power even if some panels were damaged, second was how quickly they could do the job. I wanted it done before the end of the year and they got it done.

Exceptional, from start to finish and even after!!

Absolutely top notch. Took the time to explain the benefits of various systems, what we could expect during and after the process. Took into consideration our needs, how they were going to change, what our property could hold and how best to position everything so it didn't take away from the look of our property. They delivered way beyond our expectations, I recommend them to any and everyone looking at investing in solar. $800-$900 electric bills in the summer are a thing of the past for us and we couldn't be happier.

My Condo Installation

The most important fact about my installation was that everything described, done and billed was without ANY surprises. Bland did exactly what they said they would with regard to every detail. Everyone I dealt with from the sales staff, logistics support, installation and follow up was knowledgeable, competent and professional. I suspect that's what comes from a company being employee owned. I would recommend Bland to anybody seeking the services they provide.

Great solar company!

You can determine the character of your company when something goes wrong. The winter after my solar installation (which went very well in all respects) I found ceiling leaks under the panels. My Bland rep was out the next day, and within two days they had removed the panels, fixed the bracket problem, reinstalled the system, and asked me to estimate the cost of my ceiling repairs. I received a check for that amount immediately. The system has performed well, and after removing a large shade tree I had Bland add additional panels. I am very happy with Bland Solar.

We had solar panels installed by Bland Solar in May 2017. They were professional, courteous, and the job was done on time.

Exceeded our expectations

The entire installation and switch to solar was easy with Bland. They were prompt, communicated well, and did a great job installing. It was by far the best experience I've had with any contractor. I waited to write this review until several months after the installation so I would be able to include info on service after the sale. I can now report that the after-sale service is just as excellent as the installation itself. I emailed them on a weekend about one panel not producing and had a reply within an hour with a promise that their guys would look at things first thing Monday. They ended up doing exactly that and sending a technician out on Wednesday to replace a faulty microinverter. No muss, no fuss, no hassle. I would absolutely recommend Bland to anyone without any hesitation.

Super Service

I was very pleased with my Solar System from Bland. Their reliability throughout the purchase, install, and use of system- was and still is excellent. If I have a problem (which there have been zero) I have confidence they will be available to assist. Their showroom and business yard is very nice and orderly! However, the best thing i like about my system is the stability of my utility bills throughout the year, even with financing, my costs are low.

A Satisfied Customer

Sure, when you buy a solar system it requires you to spend money up front and you know it will be a few years before you reach that "break-even" point, but you know that time will come. In the meantime, your monthly energy bills will be a very small fraction of what you were paying before. And should you decide to sell your home, having solar adds value and makes it more attractive to prospective buyers. So consider it an investment. That coupled with the federal tax credit makes it even more logical. I talked to several representatives from four companies and I felt Bland was "head and shoulders" above the others. After further research, reading online reviews, and talking to others who purchased their systems from Bland, I was confident in contracting with them for my system. So far everything they told me has been true. Their calculations in designing my system have been right on. Their sales people, installers and office personnel are very professional. Every phase of the project, from the first phone call to it's completion and the city's inspection, happened on schedule and as promised. I recommend Bland Solar, without reservation, to anyone considering solar.

Ground mount solar

The owner personally did the site survey and was very knowledgeable about the product. The install crew was on time and worked through the rain. The system is working perfectly and we are completely satisfied.

Price was competitive with other installers. The installation process was excellent. There were some hiccups - probably most installations have them - and they went above and beyond to see that we were satisfied. The after sales service has been excellent also, better than we hoped. Totally Satisfied

The entire process went smoothly and our panels are operating as advertised. We really appreciated being able to see the panels, etc. at the brick and mortar store in Templeton. In fact it was probably the deciding factor in our choosing Bland.

Excellent service & products

Bland installed solar panels on our house about 6 months ago. They have their own employees, not subcontractors, so it's much easier to get the work scheduled and to get assistance with questions about the installation during the process. All the people at Bland were pleasant and easy to work with. Our solar panels have performed well so far and have saved us money on our electrical bill. The ability to monitor their performance on the included app is really nice, too. We would recommend Bland to anyone interested in solar panels and installation on their home.

Excellent product and installation

Excellent product, high production panels with independent and individual power inverters for each panel. I selected this company primarily based on the observed installation process as explained to me by Lalo, one of Bland's installers, who recommended his company to me. The finished product and amazingly clean installation on our roof was evidence that I made the right choice in solar companies. The detail given installation provided a very clean appearance to the solar panels. Other companies that I looked at did not seem to take as much pride in their work. I expect that same pride given to installation will carryover in any future followup that I may need for the system installed. I would highly recommend Bland Solar to anyone considering a more independent energy solution
