Bland Solar

I would leave zero stars but I had to choose one in order to post this review. We went with bland because they were recommended to us. We had them come out and install solar panels on our house. Cost was about 45,000 only to receive a bill at the end of the year for our true up, which was $10,000 through PG&E. I’m contacting an attorney.And suing!!!

My system was installed by Bland Company in 2015 and I have had four inverts go bad and they were replaced without too much delay. I have a problem with the basic installation of the roof standoff brackets installation and they leaked, but upon notification they were very responsive to fix the problem! GREAT! BUT, now I have one panel that stopped producing power. I called to ask for a service call to fix problem and was quoted a $149.00 service call charge would be made to diagnose problem??? I don't yet know the final outcome of this issue, but will definitely run it by legal advisor and California State Contractors License Board for an opinion.

Alex did a great job today fixing my solar issue in about an hour. Showed me pictures of the root cause and fix that was made. Explained how the house was on two different systems for monitoring and ensured both were up to date, how to access them and things to look for to detect a future outage. The education was worth the price of the service call.

A year after installation, attempted to call their main line (661) 836-3880. No one answers the phone and mailbox is full. They only respond text. Texted them a while back to troubleshoot my Enphase Gateway not communicating and schedule technician. Took them 1 week to respond on text and they said next availability is 1 month out for technician. I am a long time Bland solar customer. Disappointing "after sales" customer service/support.

Great company to work with, employee owned and great customer service. Would differently work with them again.

My experience with Bland Solar was great. Start to finish they took care of business. I was actually becoming friends with the 2 installers but then they were done. I enjoyed them so much that I bought them treats for there drive to and from Bakersfield. Miss you guys. Thanks for the great work. Am getting excited about not paying PG&E any more money.

I would recommend bland solar to any and everybody because the sales person and enstallers We’re outstanding kind respectful and very knowledgeable about what they are doing.

It was only 6 weeks from the time I walked into Bland Solar and received a solar design for my roof until I was online generating more power back to the grid than I was using!. They were fast, professional and truthful regarding every stage of planning and installation. They recommended an excellent bank for seamless financing at the best possible price and took care of all permiting needed. I get monlthly updates on on my solar array production which has exceeded their predictions by a comfortable cushion. And to top it off, the panal type and roof arrangement suggested by Bland retains the beauty of my mountain home. I highly recommend Bland for your solar needs.

I got bids from 5 solar companies and Bland was the best price. Two other things made the decision for me first I liked that each panel could generate power even if some panels were damaged, second was how quickly they could do the job. I wanted it done before the end of the year and they got it done.

Absolutely top notch. Took the time to explain the benefits of various systems, what we could expect during and after the process. Took into consideration our needs, how they were going to change, what our property could hold and how best to position everything so it didn't take away from the look of our property. They delivered way beyond our expectations, I recommend them to any and everyone looking at investing in solar. $800-$900 electric bills in the summer are a thing of the past for us and we couldn't be happier.

The most important fact about my installation was that everything described, done and billed was without ANY surprises. Bland did exactly what they said they would with regard to every detail. Everyone I dealt with from the sales staff, logistics support, installation and follow up was knowledgeable, competent and professional. I suspect that's what comes from a company being employee owned. I would recommend Bland to anybody seeking the services they provide.

You can determine the character of your company when something goes wrong. The winter after my solar installation (which went very well in all respects) I found ceiling leaks under the panels. My Bland rep was out the next day, and within two days they had removed the panels, fixed the bracket problem, reinstalled the system, and asked me to estimate the cost of my ceiling repairs. I received a check for that amount immediately. The system has performed well, and after removing a large shade tree I had Bland add additional panels. I am very happy with Bland Solar.

We had solar panels installed by Bland Solar in May 2017. They were professional, courteous, and the job was done on time.

The entire installation and switch to solar was easy with Bland. They were prompt, communicated well, and did a great job installing. It was by far the best experience I've had with any contractor. I waited to write this review until several months after the installation so I would be able to include info on service after the sale. I can now report that the after-sale service is just as excellent as the installation itself. I emailed them on a weekend about one panel not producing and had a reply within an hour with a promise that their guys would look at things first thing Monday. They ended up doing exactly that and sending a technician out on Wednesday to replace a faulty microinverter. No muss, no fuss, no hassle. I would absolutely recommend Bland to anyone without any hesitation.

From start to finish, everyone we have encountered throughout this process with Bland Solar was professional and friendly. They informed us of next steps and were happy to answer our questions along the way. Install was completed in a timely manner. Would highly recommend Bland Solar!

I was very pleased with my Solar System from Bland. Their reliability throughout the purchase, install, and use of system- was and still is excellent. If I have a problem (which there have been zero) I have confidence they will be available to assist. Their showroom and business yard is very nice and orderly! However, the best thing i like about my system is the stability of my utility bills throughout the year, even with financing, my costs are low.

This is our second solar install from Bland Solar. When we built our new home, we knew we wanted solar...and we wanted the system to be installed by Bland. Everything was first rate: pricing, installation, utility connection, customer service, you name it. I highly recommend Bland Solar.

Sure, when you buy a solar system it requires you to spend money up front and you know it will be a few years before you reach that "break-even" point, but you know that time will come. In the meantime, your monthly energy bills will be a very small fraction of what you were paying before. And should you decide to sell your home, having solar adds value and makes it more attractive to prospective buyers. So consider it an investment. That coupled with the federal tax credit makes it even more logical. I talked to several representatives from four companies and I felt Bland was "head and shoulders" above the others. After further research, reading online reviews, and talking to others who purchased their systems from Bland, I was confident in contracting with them for my system. So far everything they told me has been true. Their calculations in designing my system have been right on. Their sales people, installers and office personnel are very professional. Every phase of the project, from the first phone call to it's completion and the city's inspection, happened on schedule and as promised. I recommend Bland Solar, without reservation, to anyone considering solar.

The owner personally did the site survey and was very knowledgeable about the product. The install crew was on time and worked through the rain. The system is working perfectly and we are completely satisfied.

From start to finish it was all excellent. Our salesman was not pushy, even when we said we wanted to check out other companies. The service & quality we received was outstanding. Even now, I still receive calls to make sure we are still completely satisfied.

Price was competitive with other installers. The installation process was excellent. There were some hiccups - probably most installations have them - and they went above and beyond to see that we were satisfied. The after sales service has been excellent also, better than we hoped. The entire process went smoothly and our panels are operating as advertised. We really appreciated being able to see the panels, etc. at the brick and mortar store in Templeton. In fact it was probably the deciding factor in our choosing Bland.

Bland installed solar panels on our house about 6 months ago. They have their own employees, not subcontractors, so it's much easier to get the work scheduled and to get assistance with questions about the installation during the process. All the people at Bland were pleasant and easy to work with. Our solar panels have performed well so far and have saved us money on our electrical bill. The ability to monitor their performance on the included app is really nice, too. We would recommend Bland to anyone interested in solar panels and installation on their home.

Excellent product, high production panels with independent and individual power inverters for each panel. I selected this company primarily based on the observed installation process as explained to me by Lalo, one of Bland's installers, who recommended his company to me. The finished product and amazingly clean installation on our roof was evidence that I made the right choice in solar companies. The detail given installation provided a very clean appearance to the solar panels. Other companies that I looked at did not seem to take as much pride in their work. I expect that same pride given to installation will carryover in any future followup that I may need for the system installed. I would highly recommend Bland Solar to anyone considering a more independent energy solution

Bland was highly recommended to us by friends who had used them. I must say that they met all of our expectations. They were courteous and professional . They came when they said they would and performed all the work they said they would do. I have no problem recommending them to family or friends. A 5 Star company.

Everything went as planned, from good price to on time installation. Completion was also on time and very clean job. great to work with and HONEST.

I contacted 4 companies for the installation on my home. Bland was not only the best price, but they worked with me on how I wanted the installation placed so as not to detract from a pleasing aesthetic view of the home. Ten months into the first year with solar, I am very pleased. My true-up balance continues to drop over the winter months and we may be very close to $0.00 owed when the true-up day happens in June. Also, I received a hefty deduction on my taxes this filing season!

Twenty One Panels installed, and they work wonderfully! I create more than I use, so my expenses are lower than they were with PG/E alone. Bland is very supportive, and all their workers are great to deal with. I am very happy I chose Bland Solar and recommend them highly.

What s Gem Our Salesman Brett Sorci is. We had Heating and Air Condition Unit installed in our home, and when the system needed adjustment ,He had it taken care of after just a phone call to him. The installers were top notched from start to finished. The customer Service is the Best !!!!! We are now anxious to have our Solar installed.. John and Toni Bass

My experience with Bland Solar in Bakersfield was entirely positive. The installation went smoothly, and on time. My experience with PG+E was less so. With them, just expect delays much beyond the panels passing the building inspection.

I originally called another solar installer got a price from them for their panels and was going to use that company but i happened to talk to a good friend who had Bland Solar install panels on their house and all my friend could say was you need to call Bland and get a price and second opinion. Bland had all the answers to my questions and performed to the letter as far as keeping me in the loop during the design and install of my system all the way to the end. I'm very pleased with the exceptional service they gave to me and will recommend Bland to anyone looking to go solar.

I search and researched (haha!) and found Bland to be the best priced, product and service quality. I still have $35/month bill but, due to my location and the shape of my roof, it was expected.

This is 2 years later but they did a fantastic job and went out of their way to make sure the job was done right. Couldn’t ask for more. As for solar couldn’t be happier should have done it sooner. I bought my system and I think that is the best way.

We loved how the first install went but this second one could have taken less time if the install team had worked more than 4 hours a day. Also they have messed up some of our wiring and we have to call to get it fixed.

System works great, the bill doesn't fluctuate. It's doing what was promised.

I was provided with all the information I needed during my first visit to Bland. They answered all my questions and follow-up questions. I left with a packet of information to review before making a decision. The credit union they work with -DCU - is exceptional as well. Everything Bland said they would do they did. The installation timeline was accurate and they kept me informed. When I changed Internet providers they helped set the monitoring system up again. They have excellent customer service. I’ve had no problems with the system or my roof. The panels are barely visible from the street. I’m very happy with my purchase.

Overall a very easy process and Jim was an excellent person to deal with. Didn’t feel pressured and had all pros and cons explained prior to signing anything.

Bland Solar employees did a phenomenal job of installing a 7 KW system on my house in Bakersfield in late 2017. Colter was very pleasant and the installation was well co-ordinated. I enjoy monitoring the energy production and this summer should be quite interesting as the air conditioning costs will be tremendously offset by the solar energy production. I'm so satisfied with the solar project here in Bakersfield that I'm in process of having a re-roof and solar installation by Bland Solar on my primary residence in San Luis Obispo.

I found Bland Solar employees to be very professional and polite. Every question I had was answered and they handled everything, from assistance setting up financing to applying for county permits and inspections, to enrolling us in the monitoring website. Very smooth process for a complex system set up, you can tell they are professionals and know what they are doing. In October 2006 I installed a 2.8 kw solar system with a local installer in the Kern River Valley. It has and continues to work fine but after I retired I found I had outgrown its capacity. When I looked around in the late summer of 2017, I found there were no more local installers in the KRV. I knew little on how to proceed except that Weldon, CA, is remote. I checked the SCE website for who had done solar installs in my area and then researched each listed. I settled on Bland Solar because they had good reviews and they were a local company in Bakersfield. I contacted them and went into their showroom next to Trader Joe’s. Colter Allison contacted me and after an analysis of my needs based on my usage data available from SCE, we settled on adding 12 panels each with micro-inverters. There were many steps along the way and the multi-step process was slower than I would have liked but the system was installed before Christmas and almost immediately I was producing enough energy to cover my needs. I am pleased that the process was smooth and without pressure and that the result was what I was expecting and within a price range I could afford.

Colter Allison first priced the system in 2016, but I had to wait for a re-roof before getting a system. In the year's wait the pricing decreased. And, when Colter sat down with me, we used more cells and the pricing decrease further. Jose performed my installation. Matt provided my electrical panel upgrade and Angela shepherded the paperwork through the system. The system is great, the communications were detailed and the installation went smoothly and quickly (3 days installation, wait 4 weeks for PG&E to approve panel upgrade) and were are now up and running

Great service.! Smooth installation. Colter took the time to explain all of our options. Took care of us throughout the whole process. Did some shopping around and found them to be the most transparent and informative.

We have just completed the installation and monitoring on our solar system. I really have to commend Tony Morales for his ability to convince us this was the right decision. We did quite a bit of shopping around and I did research on panels to find out more on them. Tony actually sold us on the "Micro-inverters". The installation was very professional, and my hat is off to John and Ike for there knowledge and workmanship. I was here everyday and they answered any questions I had, which I totally liked. Edwin came out yesterday and did the monitoring setup for us. Very informative and regards to Edwin, very good at what he does. Our hats are off to Bland Solar and there team of professionals who did an outstanding job and especially Tony for talking to us more than three times before we made the decision to make a big investment.
