BDS ook over our residential solar installation job from another solar company that was having issues during covid lockdowns. Ken was very transparent w pricing (his quote was similar to others, but he broke the line items down more specifically). and communicative every step of the way. His installers were organized, prompt, cleaned up nicely after each day of work, and addressed all notes and final punch list items without complaint or even a hint of side eye. The panels are up and running - I can see the meter feeding power back into the grid. All is good!

IT WAS EASY PROCESS

I tried to get price from a lot of different solar comapies this is the best company I found with price wise and straight forward.they are on time and make the job done .very clean work

We worked with Ken Sampson to get our project done, beginning in October 2015. The installation was completed very well and we were actually on the DWP grid by late December - we were anticipating a lengthy delay from the power company, but we were up and running in under 2 months! In the "dead of winter" our 40 panel system was producing over 20 kWhr per day. Now that the long days of summer are here, we see over 50 kWhr produced each day. We actually look forward to the meter reader's visits!

I am thrilled with the recent solar installation from BDS solar. I had a preexisting solar system the was totally under powered. Ken was fantastic to work with and ensured my new system was fully capable. I have been up and running for three months and cant believe the energy I am producing. Very fair pricing and down to earth customer service.

By the time I arrived at looking at solar, I had talked to quite a number of building contractors. What I liked most about Ken, of BDS Solar, was his attention to my interests regarding size and type of system I was looking for. He was very tuned in to building a system suitable for my particular needs and future anticipated electrical requirements of our newly remodeled home. Ken didn't push to sell more than what was appropriate for our project. In fact he helped me actually scale down from oversized ideas I had in mind, while providing us with one capable of staying just the right amount above what we projected our power needs to be. They were also very good at working with my contractors roofers to install the mounting system, as the new roof was being installed. The array arrangement and installation was perfect and went quickly with no problems. I also appreciated the family business environment and the more personal attention it provided.

Here is an email I received from this business, to give you an idea of the lack of professionalism I was dealing with here: 'I'm sorry I'm paying only for a completed project I don't know why I would use you for something that we can utilize at all thank you for trying but this is Anna completed job basis your problems are not mine getting this resolved thank you' I was hired to migrate a word document into an excel document to include links to certain sections. Per their vague instructions from the beginning, this task was completed after 3 drafts. I then received a brief email stating it was not what they were looking for and to stop the project. It was never suggested I get paid, not even for the effort it took to unprotect the excel document after BDS did not provide a password that worked to enable editing of the excel document.

I am a General Contractor and have used Ken Sampson and BDS Solar for 3 residential projects in the San Fernando Valley. Ken and BDS Solar are very professional, great customer service, handled the permitting process and interface with the utility company which is always a time saver. I anticipate calling upon Ken and BDS Solar for any upcoming future projects. Great folks to work with.

I am satisfied with my system, it works and is great overall value. Ken was good with returning my calls and following up. The project took 7 months due to additional requirements from SCE. I had received quotes from multiple companies and decided to go with BDS because Ken was able to accommodate my requirements for the system at a reasonable price.

I went with three different companies before selecting BDS Solar for my installation. Ken Sampson was my contact and helped us through the whole process. Mine was a land based installation, not a rooftop, and presented some challenges. BDS Solar provided the best solution, and beat the other quotes by a big margin. Installation went quickly. Ken Sampson was my point of contact and also an owner of the company I believe. Ken knows his stuff and put together a very affordable solar package for a challenging residential installation. I didn't want panels on the roof because I think they look like crap. We live in a very upscale neighborhood, so I was concerned with the esthetics. His engineers designed a ground mount system that looks to me like a modern piece of art! Installation team was very professional, and Ken's pricing beat the other bids I got by around $10 Grand! Ken will show you the power generated and the various ways to pay (lease vs. finance vs. purchase). For our system we paid in full, and the payback on the system will be very quick. Ken was in touch via text and phone every step of the way. I highly recommend BDS.

Edison owes me more than $300 so far this year. My system produced more electricity than we used every month except in January this year. Best investment we ever made.

I decided to install solar. I had six different companies come out. I received the best price from BDS. The sales representative was very personable. I made a change to the panel set up without a set back to the install, minor price change. The install went well. To this day, they are still checking in to see if everything is OK.

I had my solar system quoted by three different companies. I choose BDS Solar (Ken Sampson). They were competitive, competent and prompt. The installation was professional and was completed in two days. The third day the Los Angeles City building inspector arrived and the system passed inspection with no problems. My only issue is with the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power - they are still in their 4 month long approval and start up process. The DWP's program should be privatized. While designing the system it was taken into consideration that I only wanted the panels on the back of the house. The installation was fast & clean. The crew went to great lengths to make sure no debris was left in the yard. To this day, the owner of BDS still checks in to make sure everything is satisfactory and is always available to assist when there are questions or concerns. All around a knowledgable, professional and good team to work with.

We would highly recommend solar. Our average monthly electric bill was $600. It is now $2 in taxes. $24 per year verses $7,200 per year makes it a no brainer. We have had NO problems since installation was complete. We paid $35,000, up front, but will recover that in less than 5 years with the increases we would have had in our electric bills. We dedided on a prepaid option. This makes the process more complicated, but is the cheapest in the long run. We did not want to purchase the system because we liked having someone to insure, maintain and monitor our system for the next 20 years.

I had two big solar companies tell me that they could not install because of my very heavy tree cover. Ken at BDS took the extra time to make the project work by cutting the trees, positioning the panels and even guaranteeing me in writing that I would get a specific level of power a year. To date I am on track to meet that number. Ken was very ethical and made sure that his crews followed our agreement to the letter and intent of our contract. Ken was available, polite and businesslike even when someone else might have lost their cool or chose to duck communication. The true test of a dependable contractor is when they communicate with you and follow up when the job is hard- and my job was much more difficult than the average job. We purchased a system that was supposed to fully support our home off the grid nearly $60,000 dollars and the system will not support the AC unit which was purchased with the home, and the system was supossed to be built for our home. Ken has now sent additional cost for $10,000 and will not fix the system. Our home has been sitting there for over a year the intial install dates were last thanksgiving but wasn't installed until May. Now it's just sitting there.
