Great Hassle Free Installation
My PV array was installed three years ago and so far I had no single problem with it. I have made my research before I have selected Aurora. Their offer had competitive price and best panels well matched to microinverters. The work was performed on time as promised, including permits, inspections, and registrations. The array production is spot on averaging so far about 1% over the promised level. Over the last three years there is no observable deterioration of the energy producing power of the PVs.

Aurora Energy is an extremely professional company – by far, superior to the other companies we interviewed for solar installation proposals. Mike Ryan, our salesperson, was knowledgeable in all aspects of the process and patient with our multitude of questions. The installers were polite, hardworking, and cleaned up the worksite each day. We recommend this company 100%.

These guys were the most professional contractors I`ve deal since becoming a homeowner three years ago.

Mike Ryan was excellent to deal with in every way. He did what he said he would do, came when he said he would, explained things well, got permits and gave me papers to sign, and was very friendly all the time. His workers were very good and pleasant too. I highly recommend him and Aurora Energy.

We are very pleased with the excellent service and quality installation that AuroraEnergy provided us on our PV solar system. The entire team, and Michael Ryan in particular, paid a great deal of attention to detail doing things the best way possible, provided accurate and complete information to us from the beginning, kept us informed as the process progressed, submitted all the required paperwork and documentation timely, and were professional in every respect.
Steinberg & Shapiro | 05/03/2011
We have been extremely satisfied with the entire process involving Aurora Energy, especially with the support provided by Jason Brennan. Aurora has been on top of all matters related to the design and installation of our system since day 1. The only issue was the very long delay in the arrival of the micro-converters needed for our system, an issue which was seemingly out of Aurora`s control. We would not hesitate to recommend the company to others.

Because we had a contractor and architect for the renovatin of our house, we didn`t work with Aurora directily until we had problems. It was 50/50 whose responsibility the areas that needed attention were -but we are able to get things corrected. We still don`t know why we are having intermittant tripping of the breaker to the water heater - but the contractor is going to call the water heater manufacturer.

We chose to buy a very large residential system to provide for as much of our use as possible. Our system includes 19,040kW of PV panels and a 40-tube collector for hot water heating. Roof space limitations and some shading issues steered us toward high efficiency PV panels. We asked for bids from 4 different firms. Aurora Energy very clearly offered the best combination of value, technology, knowledge, and installation experience. The job was finished very professionally, and Aurora is still following up with all the necessary state approvals and related paperwork. If you need further endorsement, please note that SunPower (maker of the world`s most efficient solar panels) has designated Aurora Energy as the only "premier" SunPower dealer in Maryland. Regarding the low importance I placed on power "reliability": with net-metering, I don`t care when the power is generated - we still get credit for it. Of course, I still count on the system to produce well on sunny days. In my opinion the systems will pay for themselves within a reasonable time (about 6-8 years), and then we`ll have many years of free/very low cost power. Great job, Aurora!

Everyone was very professional and friendly. They contacted me when MD was about to change the tax allowance (Reduce) to inform me and offered to rush the application in to make sure that we qualified for the higher rate.

My main contact at Aurora Energy was Jason Brennan. Jason has answered all my questions ans kept me informed throughout the installation. The project went well and is performing well. I am very pleased with the project. They have my recomendation. I am completely satisfied with my Sunpower solar system and the work performed by Aurora Engineering and Jason Brennan.

Were references willingly provided for you to contact ? - Since this was and upgrade to an existing solar system, references were not needed. Aurora Energy installed both solar PV and domestic solar hot water systems in fall 2007. Work began on the date and time promised ? - SunPower stopped accepting orders in mid-November- therefore, our system was delayed ~60 days. Not the fault of Aurora Energy. Work was completed according to the schedule promised ? Again, see answer above- furthermore, the mid-Atlantic was subject to unusual blizzard activity. The amount of snow and cold temperatures delayed our install even further. No fault to Aurora Energy.

I chose Aurora due to the referral of a friend. They seem to be a small shop with all of the advatages and disadvantagesof asmall shop. Transition to a fully operational system was a little shaky

a great company to work with. the job was done professionally and the site was cleaned prior to leaving each time. The showed up when they said and communicated with us at all time of the project. can`t wait to recommend to someone else !

Could not be more pleased with the expert original installation as well as the overall professionalism, responsiveness and proactive follow up on both system performance as well as grant applications!!!! We have a friend who owns and managages a solar energy company in New York, and he screened this contractor and their bid for us.
Tim Welch | 07/18/2008
Great guys to work with. They know their stuff. They advised against us adding some solar panels on one our roofs because they would not be useful for a good part of the year. When a company advises you not to spend money on it, that`s a good group of people. We weren`t influenced by anything or anyone to install solar. We saw our electric bill nearly double in 3 years, we saw an opportunity to help the environment, and we saw an opporutnity to do a little bit to reduce the US`s dependence upon foreign oil and all the trouble that situation brings. That`s why we decided to install some solar power.

Do your research on what you are trying to accomplish. If domestic hot water is your goal, then Thermomax Technologies can help you achieve that. -Family of 5 with plenty of hot water.

Aurora serviced our system when the controller failed and ruined the batteries. The system was installed in 1999 or 2000 by a company that when bankrupt. I am continuing to recommend Aurora.
Bill & Robin Hembree | 02/16/2007
The folks at Aurora Energy are extremely knowledgeable – not only in the products they provide but also in Federal and State credit/grant programs available to homeowners who may be considering an investment in renewable energy services and equipment. In our case, Aurora facilitated the filing of our State of Maryland grant documentation. In addition, our roof required minor modifications in advance of the placement of the solar panels and Aurora prepared a to scale drawing reflecting the necessary modifications and, at no additional cost, coordinated with the general contractor who modified the roof. It is apparent from our many conversations with the principals of the firm that their interests are closely aligned with the energy saving products they provide. We never felt like we were purchasing a bulk commodity from Aurora. Unfortunately, we had that feeling from other solar panel providers who, upon further investigation, are new players in this industry. We would recommend Aurora without hesitation. On time, on budget, no punchlist! Bill & Robin Hembree Severna Park, Maryland

I understood the process pretty well before contacting them. They missed the original email with the signed grant proposal and that cost us 2-3 months on the schedule. I have referred them to a friend (who seems to be getting a better price than I did :-() I`ve been interested in solar power since attending a solar conference in Philly in 1980.

I can relate one concern regarding the complete solsr effort from my view. As someone that will dedicate some effort to understanding vaiables, it has been a continuing dis-service to the solar industry that everybody waffles when it comes to getting facts. Even trying to hire a engineer to confirm energy needs or ideal design properties, I difficult for me to get `that`s the way we do it because it works.` If you wanted to buy a camera you can go to a web site and compare the features and costs side by side then you can decide, no such luck here, and I just wanted hot water! A benifit you could offer en consumers would be some effort on co-ordination. probably not your focus. ALan Wolcott, 310.439.7878

We were impressed with Isaac Opalinsky. He was thorough in his explanations to our many questions. This was a major renovation of a second home that was formerly all electric. We added a geothermal heating system and a solar PV while adding insulation. It is fun to watch the meter run backward on a sunny day!
