Go literally anywhere else. This entire project has been a nightmare and nobody will reply to my emails. Project was supposed to be complete by the beginning of March. As of April 7th, I do not have a functioning solar system and my first bill is due this month. Worst experience I have ever had. It's now July 12 and I am still without functional solar panels. Some progress has been made but I'm still paying for a system that isn't working. August 16th and I still don't have working panels. I'm reaching out to GoodLeap since Alternative is useless. Rather than going through Alternative and their utter inability to communicate, I contacted CPS directly to make sure something was actually scheduled. Turns out, Alternative actually did their job correctly for once but, as usual, did not bother to communicate it to me. I actually managed to complete commissioning on August 22nd. Finally, after waiting for nearly 7 months after signing and 5 months of paying for a service I have not been receiving, I was able to get the panels turned on for the first time. Once the panels were turned on there was only one thing left to do. I needed to get access to the Enlighten App so I could start tracking my array performance and energy consumption. Sounds easy, right? Nah, had to wait until September 29th for someone to come out and finish the Wi-Fi setup and to register me in the app. Why that couldn't happen during commissioning is beyond me. However, there was one "silver lining" to the additional delay. While the guy was here setting my app access and getting everything connected to Wi-Fi, he also noticed that the consumption meter had not been connected and was just sitting loose behind the panel. The silver lining in this case was the fact that he uncovered yet another thing that Alternative failed to do correctly. Unfortunately, he did not have the materials to fix the problem while he was here. So, while my panels are working and I can check my array production in the app, I cannot see my actual consumption numbers. So, just when I thought everything was finally done, Alternative had to throw one last failure my way. Meanwhile I continue to wait for the fully functional system that I paid for and my eternal suffering continues.

VERY SHADY - No solar after 7 months

We signed in February 2022, it is now September 2022 and the solar panels have been on for months but the inspection has failed twice. The company won't return calls or emails and always say that their phone system is down. They do not hook up per state code (such as they put non-weather proof hookups on our roof which had to be completely redone. They didn't show up for their appointments when I rearranged my day 3 TIMES to be here when they needed me to be here to let them into my garage. We have paid double for solar and electricity during one of the hottest on record.

HORRIBLE!!!!!!!! STAY AWAY!

Went with this solar company and REGRET my decision 100%! They came to install my panels on June 27, 2022. It is now 09/07/2022 and we still are NOT activated! Alternative Solar called to let me know that we failed an inspection that NEVER took place and that is what is holding us up! First red flag should have been when they called to deliver my panels 2 weeks AFTER they had been installed already! They have not upheld any of the things that they told us about! We still have our light bill to pay monthly AND now we have the panel payment to pay at the same time! This company is a joke! Can NEVER get anyone on the phone when we need to, we always get told, "someone will call you back". They will call when they need something but never when we are trying to get an update! They told us that our electrical had not been completed, all the electrical was already installed! The guys that installed our panels left trash and screws all over the yard. There are water bottles stuck under the panels on my roof that the installers left there. This whole process has been a NIGHTMARE!

Over promised, under delivered

The sales guys made solar sound so great and had bonus add ons that convinced me to but. They said we would be up and going in a few months. 5 months later the panels have still not been activated. We were supposed to get some trees trimmed and new insulation in the attic as well, but I'm not holding my breath. I would not go with this company for solar. I would also record the sales talks and get the promises in writing. I'm having to email a few times a week just for them to cover loan payments since the panels are not active.

Avoid this company

Communication is extremely poor. They state they will call-back and do not. They do not respond to emails. Their website is basically non-existent now as they've taken down all contact information. Their published phone numbers go to voice mail. Oh an the solar itself? Over 8 months and counting for them to complete install.

Do Not Get Involved with this Company

We have a solar system that has yet to be connected to the grid. The company asks us to provide everything to move forward. They are suppose to have an inspection and provide that to our energy company. That has not happened since the late April installation. They have not been to the house since. They have asked us to photograph our electrical connections. We are at a dead stand still with this company. We are however expected to begin paying for the non-functional system. In addition during the installation we had damage to our home, our pets where allowed out of the yard and we had to clean up trash, installation items and a left over pallet. I also work from home and the noise of the heavy footsteps and dropping of materials was horrible. I would be very surprised if we avoided any roof damage. This has by far been the most drawn out and unprofessional installation of any service we have ever encountered. We do plan to voice our concerns and opinions about this company as far as we can take it.

i cant explain my frustration level dealing with this company so I strongly advise to not deal with them and save yourself the pain.

Poor Service Poor communication!!

I signed up for solar with this company back in March. The panels were installed same month. I was told they would be up and operational within that same month! Almost 4months and 4 payments later on this and they still can't get them connected and functional! I have spoken to nearly all Account reps! Always same thing from them! 'Someone will call you back'!! This is complete BS! I paid for a service which I have not been completely provided with! I have demanded they reimburse me the money wasted so far and have yet to hear back! I have emailed Eddie Joseph as of yesterday and still waiting on a reply! I am about ready to get lawyers involved in this!! I don't need all this stress from all the back and forth from them!!!!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS TRASH COMPANY!!!!!

Terrible customer service - stay away from this company ! ! !

This horrible saga started in March now July and still no solar energy connectivity. - Speaking with customer support and the same script . . . I will let the PM know and someone will get back with you . . . - Ceiling damage and took almost two months to repair after countless phone calls, text messages, and emails. - Barely any email or telephonic communication unless I initiate it. - No updates unless I request some and even then it is waiting on someone to send/call. Requested reimbursement for initially two months of no connectivity and now on month three. Of course the same old script will let the PM know and nothing Granted the first 2 month (60days) were the ones in which the solar panels were supposed to be completed. Now 5 months later and nothing . . . other than a headache trying to deal with this. Truly recommend - JUST STAY AWAY FROM THEM

Havent completed the job.

I have been waiting for three months to get my inside panel installed. They lied to me on four separate occasions, including today, telling me they would be coming out, but no one showed up. I think they have even started screening my number because I have issues contacting them during their business. They say they schedule an appointment, and no one shows up. If you live outside of San Antonio, don't use them because they don't want to finish the job. I will be reporting them to the better BBB and a possible lawsuit.

Very poor solar company

We have been waiting for this solar company to finish the install and connection of our solar panels for about six months. They were supposed to finish the job today and did not do so( they were also here on for other occasions and have yet to finish). AEP told us that they did not even run the grounding rod to the meter can which is required and that it will not pass final inspection. Also stating that they know better and this is not the first time this solar company has done this. They charged us for an attic run and did not even do it. On top of all of that our payments start this month and our solar panels are not active. This is the worst company to work with especially when it comes to communication. DO NOT USE THIS SOLAR COMPANY!!!!

Breach of contract

Failure to connect solar panels system on to the meter, this has been ongoing for about five months and we have done our part to fulfill our contract agreement by making all our payments to GoodLeap

My consultation was free, all of my questions were answered in a way I could understand. ATS really helped me save a lot of money. The process was very simple and easy for me; I had my solar panels installed four weeks later. I would definitely recommend this company.

Best solar company in the nation!!

They started off with a knock at my door, we scheduled a consultation, they lowered my monthly electric bill by $20, and they actually gave me a check for $1,500 after installation. If anyone is looking to go solar go with ATS!!!

Im saving money!

By far the BEST customer service experience I’ve had with any solar company Alternative Solar really stands as a family atmosphere and professional environment they REALLY follow through with what they promise didn’t regret the FREE consultation, all it did was help me save money and help understand the process as well as SAVE Money and providing a way to beat these utility company’s. They are not going anywhere and they are here to Stay and help! Awesome work guys love the work you guy’s provided for me and my Family!
