Alder Energy Systems

Benny and his team of talented folks at Alder Solar Energy worked with us from August 2019-January 2020 to get a 5000+kW system up and running on our residential property in GA. We had obtained estimates from 4 companies and extensively reviewed proposals, products, warranties from all. Although Alder's proposal was slightly more than the lowest bid we received, we felt that their responsiveness, previous work history, knowledge of the system and various available products, and integrity were critical in deciding to work with them. We had one estimate from a different company that guaranteed way more than what was possible, and Benny helped explain what was realistic for our property. He did not try to oversell a system that wouldn't produce energy. We felt that Alder worked to ensure we were fully aware of the plans and responded to a million questions we had. We were more than pleased with our final system and it has gotten lots of positive comments from neighbors. The system works great and is performing better than we estimated! We would absolutely recommend Alder for solar energy installs.

A great company to work with! I did a lot of research and spoke with several solar energy companies before choosing Alder Energy. I worked with Jonathan, who took the time to explain how everything works and answered all of my questions. I'm a details kind of person, so I asked a lot of questions. He was very patient and always responsive. I worked with Jonas (Install Manager) who oversaw the construction work. I challenge anyone to find a better looking installation than what him and his crew performed. As I see more and more solar panels being installed around the area, I am 100% glad I went with Alder Energy over other companies. Overall, this has been one of the best experiences working with a company. Great people and great customer service. Most importantly, I have gone several months now with not having to pay an electric bill! I always encourage people to do their own research to determine what's best for them. That being said, I would highly recommend starting with Alder Energy.

Benny with Alder Energy has been (and continues to be) great to work with. We met with four other solar companies before making our decision to go with Alder Energy and are extremely glad we chose Alder. The other companies made promises up front that seemed too good to be true in terms of expected production from the system whereas Benny was extremely honest and conservative with the estimated system output. Alder was able to model the system and factor in things like shade from surrounding trees that would impact performance – which the other companies did not do. I am happy to say that our system is actually outperforming their estimated output! Benny is extremely knowledgeable about solar and helped us understand the entire process, from system design and financing through permitting and installation. He managed the entire project from start to finish and came on site multiple times throughout the process to make sure the permitting and installation went smoothly and has continued to check in with us to make sure everything is running perfectly. I would recommend Benny and Alder Energy to anyone considering going solar. They are a great local company and it has been nothing short of wonderful working with Benny….I would give them 6 stars if I could!

Alder was great to work with

I got a small residential rooftop solar system installed by Alder and they were great. In the sales process, they were very professional and attentive to any questions I had. Communication was good while the system was getting permitted and while we scheduled our installation. The installation went smoothly and the crew was friendly. I got the system turned on quickly after installation and I am now producing my own power and it feels great.

Great experience with Alder Energy- My wife and I received quotes from several companies over the course of 2 years. Alder stood above the others. Our salesman, Benny, was knowledgeable and passionate about solar and not pushy like the others. Our panels have been live for about 4 months and our production has exceeded the proposed numbers each month. THIS IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT, as some of the other companies were a bit overzealous with their estimates. The installation was seamless… The install coordinator provided frequent updates on the permitting process and the install was quick and professional. The conduit was not wrapped over the edge of the roof (like may of the big box companies). Alder has been readily available for any follow-up questions and continue to check in on our production. Alder made going solar an experience NOT a business deal.

Great experience in West Ashley

VERY happy with our solar system and service we got from Alder Energy. I got quotes from several other companies, and one was priced pretty much the same as Alder, but none went the extra mile up front to ensure they were giving us an accurate picture of how many panels would fit on our roof. The other companies used Google Earth exclusively to estimate the size system we'd need. But Benny from Alder went up in the attic with a tape measure and essentially mapped out how the installation would work *before* writing up an estimate (which ended up being spot on of course). One other company underestimated the amount of panels that could fit on our roof (based on the Earth images, of course) , and subsequently tried to sell me on putting them on the front of my house (something our HOA forbids). He even talked about how they had lawyers that could force the HOA to allow it, which I really didn't care for. On the other hand, Benny was able to maximize the space on our roof without adding panels on sections of our roof that wouldn't provide efficient energy production (as opposed the layouts in the other guys' proposals). At the end of the day, our system was spec'ed out to generate 98% of our last years energy consumption (it had to be under 99% or under to qualify for the SCE&G incentive). A few weeks after the system was install, Alder detected that one of the panes wasn't producing as much as it should using the only monitoring system that's included with their service. They called me up, let me know that someone would be coming to replace it, and they resolved the issue without me even being home. On top of that, Benny checked in with me months after the installation and reported that the system was producing 12% more that the estimate. I could not be a happier customer.

Not a Single Regret

Alder installed our residential rooftop system in Charleston SC in the early winter of 2015-16. It was, and remains, one of the two best business transactions we've had in Charleston. Alder proves their accountability in every transaction we have had with them. To my way of thinking, Alder's strongest asset is thoroughly trained salespeople who understand thoroughly how their systems work, and who are trained to promote their sale not by hype or "fake" information but by documented information about both system and finance that we as customers have absolutely been able to "take to the bank."

Alder energy recently installed a residential 8KW and I could not have been more pleased with the entire process. This is the second house that I have equipped with solar panels so I was very informed prior to working with Alder and their knowledge, professionalism, courtesy,technical expertise,and installation was top quality. I can recommend them without hesitation and that is not something I usually do.

I was extremely pleased with my experience with Alder Energy. Not new to Solar energy having designed and built a home in 1979 with an active and passive solar system, I am somewhat familiar with the concept. We first met with Benny Mosiman as the rep from Alder. He was thoroughly knowledgeable about the concept and the products being offered. He was able to answer all of my questions with ease. The installation of the panels was completed as promised and with the highest degree of professionalism. The installation was clean with no wires or conduits visible. The performance of the panels surpasses what I expected. We are on our way to generating more than 8MWh after almost a year of use. Benny has provided excellent follow up and stays in touch with us. I would highly recommend Alder Energy as a company to use for the purchase and installation of an active solar system.

Great service and value

I worked primarily with Benny for the design and install. He was very professional and always willing to discuss my questions. They did the initial assessment and drawings in Oct timeframe and my panels were installed in March. They were inspected and turned on quickly, though they told me that these times vary depending on the power company and demand. The panels are performing within 5% of the estimates I was given. Overall I'm very satisfied.

Very pleased

The decision to go solar took some time. Craig Knowlton at Alder Energy took the time to answer all of my questions promptly and professionally. He knew his product and was able to explain the system. The installation crew did a great job. A small problem with the meter box was corrected promptly. Can't say enough great things about this company.

Excellent company

The sales person and installers for Alder energy were professional and very knowledgeable. The estimate they provided concerning production of power has been accurate so far. My residential system went into service in late June 2016 and I've had no problems. Enjoyed dealing with them.

Residential Solar Panel Installation

I couldn't be happier with Alder Energy. They were very patient with me and took all the time I needed to answer my questions. Once I signed the contract, they made it extremely fast and easy to get documents required by my electricity provider signed (they used an electronic document signature process). Once the installation date neared they did a great job of keeping me up-to-date and telling me exactly what to expect and when. The installers were very professional and didn't let the weather (snow flurries) slow them down too much. If I had a question, they would stop what they were doing to answer it and did not go back to work until it was fully answered. Then, before they left, they made sure I understood what to expect from the inspection process through the electricity provider installing the final meter and giving me permission to turn the system on. My system has been active for more than 2 months and the electricity generated meets or exceeds what the contract said it would. As I said at the beginning, I'm very pleased.

Alden Solar

I'm more than pleased with the solar panels installed on my roof. The salesman/representative Bennie was knowledgeable about the product as well as helpful with navigating the pros and cons of purchasing outright vs. financing and understanding the tax implications. The installation itself was quick and easy and not at all intrusive or inconvenient. The best part was receiving the first electric bill. A negative electric bill--are you kidding? Then the next month, another negative bill! Perfect, plus I hope I'm doing my little bit to make the world stick around so my grandchildren's grandchildren will have an earth to live on.

Let the Sun Shine!

If you are thinking of going solar in SC, I recommend Alder systems. Craig Knowlton at Alder 'sold' me my home solar project. He used web-based global imaging to estimate how many panels I would need to generate 95% of my electricity costs (in an all-eclectic home). And provided the cost information. Basically, the savings in electricity I gained, along with tax breaks, would offset, over a 10 year period, the borrowed cost of installation. So he said. I wondered if he was accurate. He was, I now estimate. In fact, I postponed this review until I could confirm that he was right about the energy yield of my solar system, etc, and he was: 95% of my consumption is covered and so is my loan. Thanks Craig! And also a BIG shout-out to the installation crew, Jonas, Josh, and Stu. Real professionals, witness the install, and great guys to talk to as well. And to Max, the 'project' manager who patiently answered all of my dumb emails. I feel great about this, partly because I'm generating energy, and also because it was a pleasure to deal with these guys....

Home Solar Panel Installation

I had an excellent experience with Alder Energy System. The sale person was very thorough and explained to me the advantages/disadvantages of having solar panels installed on my home. He also kept me updated on the process. The staff that installed my panels were very professional and were also patient in explaining what they were doing. I recommend Alder Energy System if you are thinking of installing solar panels to your home.

Lexington Sc installation

Outstanding installation from start to finish! Great communications throughout the entire process with clear detailed explanations and documentation. The attention to detail was evident from the start when their onsite inspection showed that the primary roofline for the installation had a curvaure at the bottom that prevented the entire roof from being covered in panels. Knowing this upfront, we were able to design around it on the front end instead of a mid project change. While I was impressed with evry solar installer that I contacted, this one was a noth above the rest.

Responsive, informative, realistic, timely, excellent craftsmen. Alder's residential installation was professionally accomplished in all aspects. I am now considering using solar as an alternative energy source at our office building in downtown Charleston. Of course it will be with Alder.

Excellent, professional company.

The selling point for me to choose Ecobilt as my contractor was their "can-do" attitude. Having been in the construction field for over twenty years, I desired more than a promise.

Outstanding service, attention to detail, and responsiveness in fulfilling committments. I hightly recommend them.

Not really clear on "purchase incentives." We were pleased with the tax deductins from state and federal but this did not influence our decision to install the system. Do not consider these to be purchase incentives.
