so far I'm very happy with my solar system. I've had the system since mid October and began producing electricity right away. The representative Nimit was knowledgeable, he explained everything in great detail and the installers did a great job. I would highly recommend You Save Green.

Everything Promised

Everything went as planned - quite uneventful. I had money in the bank earning nothing. With all the rebates and tax credits I am expecting a great Return on Investment (ROI).

Let me start off by saying I am in the Home Improvement business and dealing withe the city of New York is a long and slow process.Contract was signed in April 2014 and installation was completed on a 20 degree day in November. Dave kept me informed along the way. The crew of installers were professional, clean and courteous. Dave and Chelsea promptly responded to emails and phone calls. Quality products with a 25 year warranty are used and the system is performing as or better than expected

The Solar system in Brooklyn I always wanted!

I am DELIGHTED with my Solar World solution from YouSaveGreen. I started my exhaustive research in early 2014 to put a solar solution on my 115 year old 2-family row house in Brooklyn. My goal was to have an owned system that would cover 100% of my solar needs with sufficient PV overproduction to generate wholesale electricity I could sell to ConEd to reduce my payback period. Thinking ahead, if the net metering program ever ends or if ConEd ever significantly reduces the wholesale buy back price, my system would be big enough to potentially cover part or all of the electricity bill of my rental. With the big system I wanted, I could eventually tie the PV into both meters and eventually charge my tenants for the excess PV. David at YouSaveGreen was the only rep out of the 4 companies I spoke to who"got" what I was trying to achieve and actively worked with me to design a solution that would satisfy all my goals. The process of permitting with the City is not fast, so manage your expectations. From system design,application with the various entities, permitting and installation, the process took about 5 months, so manage your expectations. And then ConEd took another 3 months before completing everything they needed to before fully assigning the new net meter they installed for my apartment with the PV system so I could get full credit for the excess electricity I generate each month. From the initial advice, to the engineers they sent out and especially the installation crew who did me a real solid by offering an alternative design and orientation of my panels to maximize exposure and system generating ability, YSG has been great. They dealt with all of the time consuming applications, permitting and endless follow up required to get anything done with the multiple City bureaucracies that must sign off on a system like this. So now, just over 4 months after installation, I am on track to generate about 200% of my monthly average consumption by year end. While I was not eligible for the State Tax credit as I am not a full time resident of NY, my payback period will be about 8 years (would have been 5.8 with the State Tax credit). Unlike many of the other companies I spoke to, YSG installs systems guaranteed for 25 years on the panels AND the inverters. One of my favorite things about this solution is that I can monitor my system from my cell phone, tablet, computer from anywhere in the world in real time. So if there ever will be a problem, I will know immediately and can take action. I am so happy with my solution that I am now speaking to family members and friends about my real world experience. If you have a 2-or multi-family dwelling, there is no reason not to make this investment. My final point: With about half the total cost of the system covered by tax credits and installation incentives, Net metering for billing flexibility, the ConEd wholesale buyback program, the protection from electricity rate hikes FOREVER, the tax abatement for the improvement, added home value once solar is installed and the other potential tax write offs you have for depreciation and improvements for rental properties or multi-family homes, it is hard to make an argument why NOT to do this. I only wish I had done this sooner.

Great company & no more electricity bills

You Save Green installed our solar panels about three years ago. Dave & Justin and the rest of the You Save Green crew, were very professional, answered all our questions and were a pleasure to work with. We have produced our own electricity since the panels were installed (and inspected/approved). We even enjoy sweeping the snow off the panels! We highly recommend You Save Green!

Great company

Two of my friends had the solar system installed and had great recommendations for the company. I considered it for my house and contacted David the sales person who walked me through the whole process. The installation was completed just before the winter as planned, and even with the short days of sunlight, I saw a great savings in my electric bill. David processed all the paperwork and stayed in touch with me throughout the entire process. Everything went as promised and am very satisfied with the system.

Con ed serves Brooklyn and last jan they doubled their rates without PSC approval because they can pass along natural gas/fuel costs without permission. that burned me up and I began looking for solar. I looked at the big ones, solarworld, sungevity, and others. They were more expensive by 20% and had special requirement. Only leasing, no ownership and no credits, only single family, only commercial, only central inverter etc. After shopping and asking questions I landed YSG. Family run , hands on service, great installers, respond promptly to issues, emails, and know the NYC market . Can get permits, use micro inverters if you want, flexible in installation and service. They did the job in 1.5 days, got approvals, got con ed to change the meter, gave me internet remote access without charging extra, and have a personal relationship. My son used them, my brother in law is about to and I highly recommend David Magid and his team. My payback is 4-5 years after credits and I couldn't be happier. I own the system and don't need anyone's permission to sell my house.

Awesome Install

Love being a Solar family now! My utility bill has dropped to next to nothing. You Save Green was a fabulous company to deal with. Everything they said they would do, they did. The job was completed quickly and professionally with no hiccups. The manager, Dave Magid was always available and actually was on site several times. The office contact Chelsea was very pleasant to deal with and explained everything to us. We looked at 3 different companies and we are so happy we went with You Save Green.

I was very apprehensive on pulling the trigger on a solar system for my home. After receiving my first electric bill it was one of the best decisions I have made as a homeowner. Excellent Company

originally planning on installing a generator, but considered solar after hearing their presentation at a village "power day". Have been impressed by their knowledge, and integrity. They delivered what they promised at the agrees upon price. Low-key presentation with no "high-pressure" ever applied to make sale. Their installers and associates were easy to deal with

Our experience with You Save Green was a very positive one. Dave and Nimit were very professional in their sales pitch with no pressure. The work was done on a professional level by all the workers. The work was done on time and fully, making no mistakes and leaving nothing on site. After Superstorm Sandy, they came back to the house to inspect and assess the condition in a very timely manner. Nothing moved and nothing needed to be fixed. Our main concern was the fact that our furnace chimney fell down and missed all of the panels. We are continuing to use them now to install new gas furnace and water heater to replace from damage from Sandy. Every chance we get, we recommend them to all our friends and neighbors. Thank you.

Great Experience

I was very hesitant going into this...not knowing much about solar power. David was very patient and informative. They made the whole process very simple. Solar is definitely a no-brainer,and YOU SAVE GREEN is the only way to go.

Very Happy with my Solar System

You Save Green installed a 7000w solar system at my house in 2012 and after a full year, I could not be happier! It was less than 2.5 months between signing the contract to system turn on. A small issue with physical location of the system and a missing brace which was corrected in a timely manner caused slightly less than perfect grades of those 2 categories, overall very happy with everything. You Save Green handled all the paperwork. With the NYSERDA grant and the state and federal tax incentives the whole system was very reasonable, and I calculate that after grant and tax incentives the system will pay for itself in less than 7 years. You Save Green estimated that the system would produce about 7000 KW’s annually and after the first full year it produced 7614 KW’s! Beating the estimate! And best of all, the system has NO MOVING PARTS! That’s means no maintenance and no repair costs! Well I did wipe the snow off of it a few times last winter, but that maintenance I can do myself! Go with You Save Green if you want to save some green 

Very Pleased with You Save Green

Very Pleased with You Save Green We researched solar panels and spoke with several installers. Although You Save Green was not the cheapest, we felt most comfortable with them. They were knowledgeable and friendly and answered all our questions throughout the process. We were taken aback by the lengthy government approval process, but You Save Green had no control over this. We figured it was the cost of the major state subsidy. Once we had the approval, You Save Green's crews were quick and courteous in installing our new panels. They cleaned up as they worked. The panels were installed in September and went to work producing electricity. We did find ourselves going to the cellar to see the meter run backwards. Our electric bills were reduced. In March, when the days got longer, we began to produce more electricity than we were using. In July the meter read zero, and it is now in the negative range. We would recommend You Save Green.

From the consultation to the installation and inspections everything ran smoothly. The installers worked 2 long days 7:30 to 8pm and then 8:00 to 7pm to get the job done in 2 days.
