Tayco were terrific to work with, from Joe Jensen in Sales, Whitney Smith as project manager, and Gabe on electric. Each was very responsive to our needs (actually listened to what we were trying to accomplish), unbelievably flexible in accommodating a last second change request, speedy in getting the inspections and 2-way meter switchover. Instead of a 2-3 week cycle, they went from installation (Monday) to system activation (Thurs morning).!! There isn't a thing they could have done to make the experience any better.

I highly highly recommend TayCo Electric & Solar for your solar system needs. They are highly knowledgeable, professional, efficient and an absolute pleasure to work with. From the initial sales consultation with Joe I knew I had selected the right company. He was there to answer any and all of my questions with the utmost detail without any pressures. In addition, Joe helped refer me to a trusted local roofing contractor that was able to help replace our roof before the new solar system was installed, this was a HUGE help. Joe's knowledge of solar, and his connections locally were impressive. Once we started the project Whitney was a joy to work with. She helped so much with the documentation piece of the project and everything went so smooth with HOA, County and Electric Co approvals and inspections. She coordinated everything seamlessly and helped us get all of our apps setup and functioning just how we liked them once the power company gave us the go ahead to turn on the switch. She has been in touch multiple times after that as well to ensure we are happy with how the system is fucntioning and performing - her client service is top notch! Also, want to give a shout out to the install crew who was extremely professional, tidy, on time and was there to answer any questions I had during the install. Overall, TayCo Electric & Solar was amazing to work with, the best contractor I have ever worked with in my life!

I want to start by saying I haven't ever bothered to type a review for anything significant that I can remember. Please excuse any typos or whatever since I'm doing this from my phone from the comfort of my living room floor as my 2 year old and 7 month old crawl and bounce on me among other things. A few years back I reached out to a few installers for "as many solar panels as my roof would hold" and I was adamant that I wanted more panels than a house of this size normally needed as I was going to be charging an electric car as well. I landed on an installer (NOT TAYCO) who promised the world during an initial consultation. The site review went well, but the PDFs that were sent back could only cover about 70% or my estimated energy usage if you counted charging the car. I was disappointed but if that's all the roof would handle I couldn't really ask for more right? So I had that installer go though with putting the system on the roof. Fast forward a few years. Texas had a massive snowstorm and people there were without power for a while. A friend of mine was pretty cold for the better part of a week. Pandemic is going on. Supply chain issues are a thing. I didn't think I would ever see a grocery store that had toilet paper or french fries again. Things were just weird. Remember those 2 kids crawling on me? I don't want them to be cold, or hot, or without food. Ever. Maybe it's time to call around for batteries. I reached out to the previous installer. I watched a few videos and looked through some basic documentation on the various products. I was pretty much set on Tesla Powerwalls but open to others as long as a few boxes were checked. Without going into detail, it was obvious that the installer had not read the documentation provided by the different battery manufacturers. I reached out to other installers in the area. Tayco came to my rescue. The process was simple and straightforward. I expressed my frustrations with the previous installer. Having been up on my roof for something unrelated it surely looked like I could have fit a lot more panels up there. Maybe there's something I didn't know about my roof, or how to install solar panels, but I'm sure it's not rocket science. I asked Tayco to take a look to see what else would fit on the roof while they were out looking at the electrical box and space for the batteries. The guys came and crawled around the attic and got up on the roof. They took pictures of the electrical box and how the previous install was done. They took measurements and talked back and forth with me about what my goals were and if I was ok with a few quirky panels (rotated 90 degrees vs the others...) I eagerly awaiting the results of their site survey. The results were in. Three Powerwalls would fit exactly where I wanted them with no issues. And they could install 40% more solar panels than the previous installer did. Thats insane. It also almost perfectly filled the gap between real world solar output and actual usage. I asked them to drop 1 of the panels because it would have been shaded for a good portion of the day and wouldn't have really benefited me. 35% more solar panels on the roof it is. At this point I dropped the bombshell... Please finish the install and have everything done by the end of 2021 for tax purposes. They said no promises but they would try to make magic happen. The previous install was "odd" ... I don't think Tayco used this word, but a buddy of mine who knows a thing or two about electrical wiring did. It was all to code. But it could have been done simpler cheaper, and more future proof. Tayco had their work cut out for them. Undo the "odd" parts of the old install, redo it right, do it on time - during supply chain shortages - and win my trust back from the bad taste I had with the previous installer. I got a call one day saying they had received shipment information from Tesla and they had some extra powerwalls they could install, but I needed to act fast (sign paperwork or whatever) or they would sell them to other people. Paperwork was signed immediately. The install date was set, and it was pushing it, but everything was going to be done before Christmas. Woohoo. Actual install went smooth as butter. They didn't even ask to borrow any tools like the other installer did (I'm not joking - the previous installer needed some drill bits during the install that he didn't bring). It's amazing how detailed planning and just being prepared in general make things go more smoothly on the execution side of things. All of the oddities were undone and the new system was up and running in no time. Here is where I am a few months later. Everything just works! The power went out for a few minutes on one day and other than the alert on my phone (from the Tesla app), I didn't even know. When this happens, the car automatically stops charging, batteries kick in powering everything, and when power is restored (or the sun comes out...) the batteries charge back up and are ready to save the day if that day comes. My solar production is spot on what it needs to be. The system isn't vastly undersized like it was before. Cost savings - the math is going to be different for everyone, but everyone that I know that has really sat down and done the math all agrees the systems pay for themselves eventually. For me it's around 8 years... Maybe less if energy costs increase. Vastly less than 8 years if energy costs increase at the rate that gas and diesel have been. It also increases the value of your house. So even if you decide to sell it and move in 5 years, you'll probably get back more than what you've sunk into it. The warranty period is much much longer than the payback period for everyone I know. Peace of mind - remember those 2 kids. I'm not worried about them ever being cold or hot, no matter what the rest of 2022 and beyond have in store for the world. Go green - I don't actually care about this part. I try not to buy stuff from China and I feel like I'm doing more than my part on that front. Tesla's are just amazing cars, Solar Panels finally make financial sense for most people and Powerwalls for battery backup have zero maintenance vs a generator. I have had enough pull crank lawn mowers in my life to know when you need it most and a generator -might- need some tinkering to get up and running ... And it won't be on a beautiful spring day when it's 72 degrees out. It's gonna be 20 degrees in the middle of the night. And that's if you are lucky. TLDR: Thank you Tayco. And special thanks to Whitney, you are amazing.

Every experience with Tayco was great from sales to the turning up my system and after install questions and support. No surprises, i was kept up to date every step of the way. Whitney the Project Coordinator was awesome to work with, she was very knowledgeable about the product and always answered my questions thoroughly. install team was very nice and great to work with, i had some request due to my OCD and they were very helpful in all my request. Sales was great in making sure i got what i was looking for and working with me on all the financial questions.

Clear answers to my questions helped overcome my initial doubts on going solar. Panels were installed by a friendly and experienced team. Great solar system end to end from Sunpower!

We decided we wanted solar after moving to NC, being a long distance from family, and going through a tornado storm that left us without power for 36hrs in February. We knew we wanted a means of staying safe and protected in the event of another “climate event” but also wanted something that provided benefits daily. And when it came to solar, Tayco / Sunpower came as a recommendation and we couldn’t be happier. They also partner with Tesla for powerwalls, and together we are doing phenomenally. They even helped with the HOA discussion and submitting to Duke for our rebate. If we ever need more panels, we will absolutely be repeat customers!

The company did a great job keeping me in the loop on where we were in the process and completing everything on time. The actual installation of panels and batteries was quick and easy once all the permitting and site plans are approved! Great customer service and competitive prices!

I couldn't be happier with the products and service received by TayCo Electric. Joe had amazing knowledge and was able to create the perfect solar system for my home and situation. Whitney saw the project through from agreement, install, and turn on. Whitney made this complicated process seamless and easy. After the job was complete, the service didn't stop there. They are always available for random electrical questions, follow up on system performance, and assistance with any rebates that are potentially available. The products that were installed could have been purchased through many different dealers, but TayCo Electric is the BEST!!!

I had a system installed by Tayco 16 months ago and could not be happier. After doing a lot of research, interviewing 6-9 different companies I found they: were telling the truth, were not misleading, spoke in a manner that I understood and most important, lived up to what they said they would do. All of this without any complaints from me. Meaning, I didn't have to have them follow up on installation, performance, rebate information etc. They are simply the best. Between Joe and Whitney you cannot ask for a better team. Mind you, I'm saying this 16 months after installation.

I can tell you, Solar companies are NOT all equal!! We reviewed 3 solar company solutions before finding Tayco. Our experience with Tayco in the planning and installation of our solar system with Powerwalls, was outstanding! Their quality of workmanship, timeliness and the delivered solution has been well above expectations. We recently chose to go with SunPower for their superior workmanship in their panels over all of their competitors. TayCo Electric & Solar did the installation. They were efficient, professional, and did a remarkable job. Even the inspector was impressed on the neatness of the installation. And Whitney was awesome to work with, keeping us apprised of where we were during the process at all times. I would highly recommend these 2 partners together for your solar needs!

True professionals through the entire process. Sales process was great, Joe is extremely knowledgeable about solar, did a great job educating me on their product. There were no sales gimmicks or pressure to buy, I really appreciated his technical expertise. I had a ton of questions and he answered them all :) Whitney did an excellent job as the Project Coordinator, she kept me informed of all the steps and handled all the paperwork with the HOA, county permitting, Duke Energy, etc. A true turn key experience with her handling everything and keeping me informed of all progress. The installers were awesome as well. They started exactly when they said they would, it took exactly how long they said, and they cleaned up so well it was like they were never here. It's obvious they take a great deal of pride in their craftsmanship. I got estimates from multiple solar companies, Tayco was by far the most professional and least pressure. Solar is not an inexpensive investment and I think this is a case of "you get what you pay for," I can't recommend this company highly enough.

I decided to go with solar panels for home in Apr 2019 and started reaching out to various installers for details and quotes. After talking to almost 10 different installers, I decided on Tayco in Sep 2019 and I am really glad I did that. Tayco is the best option if you want to go with Sunpower (#1 rated) solar panels. Tayco's team is very sincere, honest, skilled and responsive. There was never any "buy now" pressure, they just answered all the questions, gave details, including things I didnt ask but should know (e.g. wait until Oct for install for getting Duke rebate). My installation went without any issues, crew was all Tayco owned, very skilled and finished work within a day (22 panels). They made sure no wiring was outside the wall, surveyed attic and crawl space and all wires are inside/hidden. Even after the install, Tayco team stayed in touch, specially just before Duke rebate registration started with details of what info to fill, and reminders. On the day Duke rebate registration opened, they reminded again and followed up to make sure registration was done successfully. What an excellent customer service. Even 10 months after install, they are 1 text/call away and super responsive and helpful if any question or issues. Whitney and Joe are assets for Tayco and I'd definitely recommend Tayco for solar panel install services.

We recently decided to have a TESLA Powerwall installed to go with our previously installed solar system. After calling several companies, some never returned calls, some were incredibly arrogant and some just kept putting us off, we decided on TAYCO Electric. They were courteous, responsive and showed up when they said they would. Whitney was an absolute delight to work with on this and she kept us informed and the project on track. During the inspection, the County Inspector commented on what a neat, efficient job the electricians had done. We had a few hitches but TAYCO made it right every time. I would HIGHLY recommend TAYCO Electric.

Tayco Electric & Solar just installed a a 5.2 kW SunPower system on our roof. We could not be more pleased with the people at Tayco, the installation process, the hardware and the results. Tayco does what they say they will do and does it when they say they will. Of course the end result is what you are paying for. The efficiency of SunPower solar is as good as the hype. This is our second solar system so we have something to compare against. The first was a competing brand. It was good but SunPower beats it coming and going. Our previous system had 18 panels and on a good day it produced 25 kWh. With SunPower we have two fewer panels but it has produced as much as 38+ kWh on a good day. The difference is compelling. Bottom line: go with Tayco and SunPower if you want the best.

Sales/education : 5 stars! Pre-project: 5 stars! Rebate assistance: 5 stars! Installation: 5 stars! First and finish: 5 stars! System performance: 5 stars! I can't say enough good things about Tayco and Sunpower. I still don't understand how I (and you, if you pick up the phone and call Tayco) could purchase the best equipment in sunpower modules with enphase inverters, with the best warranty available, for the cheapest. I got a bunch of other bids and Tayco edged everyone else out. I loved the process of getting educated. It was very informative without being "salesy", which is the fastest way to loose my interest. I liked how detailed the proposal was and how Joe included a full energy generation model complete with shade analysis, and I liked that he gave me options. I signed a contract soon after. I was then helped by Whitney who stayed as the project manager through the rest of the process. She simplified the Duke Energy rebate process and went to work in making sure her customers received the rebate after there was a glitch in the Duke website. Then the installation started, and went very quickly and smoothly. The installers were very professional and respectful of my property. I now have a glorious 9.5 kW PV system on my roof cranking out green energy. I love it. I highly recommend partnering with Tayco Electric because trust is very important to me. They created trust immediately, and maintained/increased that trust throughout the project.

We installed solar panels around 6 month ago and we are very pleased with the services of TayCo Electric. Their professionalism is great. They were punctual, did a great job in installing the panels, helped us get the NC tax rebate and have an excellent after sale service. We highly recommend them. We delt with Joe and Whitney but the whole crew was excellent.

After getting the runaround from the solar company that installed my system, I contacted TayCo Electric and they went above and beyond to earn my business. Joe from TayCo, whom I spoke to on the phone, was very knowledgeable about the industry. He scheduled my repair and had genuine concern about my satisfaction. The contractors from TayCo were extremely professional and thorough. They repaired the faulty part as well as checking and fixing other small issues that were present. I completely recommend this company for all solar installation and repair needs.

I started to research about solar mid last year, and Tayco was one of the first to send me an estimate. After a phone conversation, Joe visited us, and analyzed the situation to us. I got a sense that they are actually very busy, and Joe did not engage in any pushy sales behavior to seal the deal. In fact, if I did not get back to him, I somehow felt like that I might not have heard back from him again. As a side note, they were the only company that visited my property, as others somehow never did. Second, they did not try to sell me as many panels as possible, instead focusing on my need. He made the design so that I would not lose too much excess production due to net metering reset. Also, their design allows us to have more panels installed in the future, which can't be said about several other estimates I received. They were not the lowest on total cost, neither the lowest per watt cost, but I had the most confidence in their numbers and decided to go with them. The permitting and installation was organized by Whitney, and it was very straightforward from my perspective. It seems to be a locality they have not worked with before, but they pretty much took care of everything other than those required my signature. My attic has a very tight opening, and they found a way to get all the wiring done. She also helped on getting the utility rebate. For the record, the customers need to file the rebate application. Since I got it, I'm glad that I did not go with another company which provided guaranteed rebate at a higher cost. Their financing offering is also quite straightforward, with reasonably nice interest rate. I asked a bank to combine it into a refinance mortgage, and was told that it will not be financially advantageous to do so. As for the system, I think it's performing more or less as promised so far. Joe told us that we will have challenge in the winter due to shading, and we did (which sounded odd when he told me and we looked outside in the summer). Now in this warm March, we see the first month that our power is roughly 100% from solar. Overall I am very happy with the experience, and will highly recommend them.

If you are contemplating Solar, I would absolutely recommend Tayco Electric. Their professional team from the firtst moments of inquiry, to install, to follow up(7 months later) are second to none. We ended up saving over 15,000 by going with Tayco. We received a higher quality panel, and they by far surpassed the other competitors price. We have had Solar for 10 months now and are saving true dollars 325-375 a month. At this rate with the still unbelievable tax credits they should pat for themselves in seven years. Tayco designed and installed the solar system at our farm. From the first detail to the last, they were just terrific. We really enjoyed interacting with their team. Such great people. Wonderful product. Terrific service. They are still coming up with ways to help us optimize our system. Highest recommendation.

I had been looking to go solar since 2009. Every time I entertained sales people to explore the options, they always came to the table with a high cost and equally high pressure sales tactics. Those tactics usually included if you sign a contract today you get this price but if I needed time to think about it then the price would go up. I’m not sure about others but when I am looking to spend tens of thousands of dollars, I want some time to think that decision over carefully. Needless to say that always turned me off. So I was not super optimisitc in 2019 when I decided to explore my options again that anything would have changed. But a neighbor told me about Tayco Electric and I decided to give them a call & I am extremely glad I did! Joe, my salesman, could not have been any easier to deal with. From the start he understood, that I was not going to make a commitment that day and would need time to research my options. And that was fine and would not affect my quote (unless I took a really long time to decide obviously). He walked me through how they would size my array so it would maximize my energy production without over-sizing the array. This would allow me the most cost effective return based on the net metering offered in my area. He also explained how my electric company’s rebate program had worked in the past and what my options were to have the best chance to qualify for that rebate. Also the panels he presented based on my research offered the best efficiency and quality. My project manager, Whitney, was also excellent. From the start, she coordinated with me on next steps, final design aspects of my array and explained how the process would proceed. She also answered all of my questions and educated me on anything that I had questions about. But the best aspect was that once my panels were installed and activated, she was still involved. Reminding me about the electric company rebate deadline, how the process had played out in the past and how, from her knowledge, it would work when I would be applying. She also provided the exact information I needed to enter on the rebate application. On the day the rebate application submission process opened, she was checking in to make sure I was supported. The installation crew that installed my panels did an excellent job and were super nice. Now I had anticipated this installation day for 10 years, so I was like a kid on Christmas day hovering over every aspect of the installation. But that did not phase them in the least and they were super friendly and took the time to explain any questions I had and never made me feel like I was an imposition. Bottom Line My panels are producing great power and I have qualified for the electric company’s rebate which was a return of about 19% of the cost of my array. So bottom line, Tayco Electric met and exceeded my expectations for my solar purchase and installation.

Joe, Whitney, and the installers all did an excellent job walking us through the process, answering all of our questions, and getting the solar panels installed efficiently. From start to finish it was a great experience, we were very glad that we chose Tayco and have been very happy with our SunPower system.

I am an technical professional and had plenty of questions that they were great at answering when I was making my decision on installers . Its been about a year and I have had great setup, follow-up, continual support and response. Installation happened as scheduled. Crew encountered unplanned obstacles and solved them as they went along. Since installation, I have had superior support to get the rebates, information and support. Later, when other projects contractor re-wired the electrical box, TayCo noticed the changes in recording and came out the same week to investigate and repair...beyond normal expectations in service and support. I highly recommend using TayCo Electric for Solar installation.

Today marks 4 months since my 9.6 kWh solar array was powered on. I love the system! I received 11 different quotes from 9 different companies and did a lot of homework. Joe Jensen at TayCo Electric was a great educator. Not only did Joe talk to me about the big picture, he was able to go into fine detail about components and worked up a few scenarios on the fly with me to look at the offsets. Joe helped me pick a setup that would optimize my production, allow me room for growth, and gave me the best payback. I had 26 370 watt SunPower panels installed on my roof which was estimated to offset 94% of my electrical use. Four months in, I am very happy to say that it has covered 107% of my electrical use, even with increased charging of our electric vehicles. The system took two days to install and the installation crew was on time, polite and professional. The installation is clean, no conduit, all the wires were run through the attic and walls. Be careful and do your homework! There are many companies out there trying to just make money and take advantage of the uneducated. I assure you TayCo is not one of them. They are local to Charlotte and focus on the customer. Give Joe a call and tell him Andrew sent you, you will not be disappointed! Oh, I also had TayCo Electric install an Electric Car charger in my garage as well. Loving it too!

After many, many weeks of researching solar, I concluded that SunPower had the best panels/warranty in the industry and that TayCo Electric was the company I'd be doing business with. Joe, their Sales Director, was friendly and professional, even after I gave him the 3rd degree a few times on the pricing, financing, etc. He hung in there though, and got me exactly what I was after. Whitney, the Project Coordinator did everything she said she'd do, and walked me thru the entire process, from correcting some errors I made on the initial interconnection application with Duke Energy, to keeping me informed on every step of the installation. Edgar and his crew installed the system in no time flat, and left our home looking exactly the way we imagined. This is a review of my experience with Tayco Electric. I choose Tayco based on a number items. One was that they are certified installers of SunPower Solar Systems. The second was when I actually called them the first time and spoke with Whitney. Between knowing the riggers of being SunPower certified and the wealth of information they had on solar panels and systems I knew I would be in good hands. Turns out good hands was an understatement. Everything was installed and handled like true professionals. From inspections to symmetry on the layout. They told what my production would be before we started and they were spot on. They told what this would look like when completed, they were spot on. I couldn’t be happier with the way they treated me as a customer. It’s the way it should be.

My experience with TayCo has been nothing but pleasant from the moment that I submitted my request for a quote on EnergySage. Joe Jensen worked with me through the site to provide quote updates as I was updating my requirements. After talking to multiple companies I went with TayCo because of (1) had the best price for a superior product, (2) provided the longest installation warranty (7 years) in the area and (3) Joe was very knowledgeable and up front so I felt in good hands. After deciding to go solar, Joe connected me with Whitney who was my project manager. She was absolutely fantastic in keeping me up to date on the project. There are lot of moving parts when you go solar and a lot of process that needs to be followed with the city, energy company, finance company etc. Whitney handled all of that and continued to stay in touch with me through the process. Due to some bad weather and other city delays it was a couple of months between deciding to go solar and having the panels installed but through the entire time Joe and Whitney were there and guiding me through. When it came to installation Edgar and his team were fantastic and treated my home with respect. We discussed multiple options in terms of driving the wires for the units through my home. Overall, I am very happy with everyone who interacted with me from TayCo. Honestly, the customer service and the service itself has been one of the best I ever had. So happy that there are small companies out there setting the bar high like this. I would absolutely recommend TayCo to anyone looking to go solar and my only regret is that I couldn't give these guys more business!

I had my solar panels installed and completed by Tayco in Nov 2018. I am still smiling ear to ear here in March 2019. The whole process started with the Sales team of Joe Jensen and Whitney Smith. They possessed a professional attitude and a vast knowledge of not only the product they offered, but the pros and cons of why we should consider installing soar panels. They did not push their products as much as educate us on what was available and the cost balanced by the benefits. We were very impressed by them and chose them over three other companies that only seemed to be only in the business to make a sale! The paper work was handled by Whitney efficiently and caused little effort on by part which made me happy. The install team with Edgar running the show went with out a hitch and they installed in the planned time exactly how it had been planned during the sales process. The installers did a fantastic job. The only down side was that they are not professional photographers and the photos they took of my install did not due justice the neat and tidy install that the did for me. The app from the solar panels helps me see my panels production so that I can tell how I am doing on a daily, weekly, monthly and yearly basis. Joe has sent us emails showing that he is monitoring our progress as well which shows me that they care more about me being a customer than they have notched another sale. The Last reason for going solar is my power bills have been cut so far my over 70%. My only concern going in was the relatively small number of solar installs they had completed compared to some of their competitors, but I honestly can't imagine the process being any easier or going any smoother than it did. They have a solid team, were very communicative, and delivered what they promised. My system is working well and looks great too. Highly recommend.

The Team at TayCo Electric are head and shoulders above the competition. I received 5 solar bids for our home and theirs was the best equipment at the best price. In addition, they were extremely helpful in receiving a solar rebate from Duke Energy in North Carolina although rebates are limited. The installation and service at every step of the way was excellent. The entire staff are knowledgeable, considerate and motivated.

Solar Power for my residence... I compared 4 installation companies who used three different brands of systems. I felt SunPower was the brand system with the best technology for me. There was no doubt TayCo had the best customer service in the front end. I'm pleased to report the great customer service lasted throughout; even while applying for the Duke energy refund. Whitney was always available when I had questions and was willing to work with personal request for how my system should be spec'd.

Whitney was great! Keeping us updated every step of the process. Edgar, project manager, was very friendly, knowledgeable, professional. The installation was done very efficiently and the panels look great!! Any issues we have run into, they have addressed & resolved very quickly. We would definitely recommend them!

Truly a great experience from the initial contact to installation has been one of the better experiences I have had with a contractor working on my home. Very honest assessment of how solar works for my specific situation. My system is working beyond my expectations and look forward to many years of saving money.
