22 Months and STILL NO OPERATIONAL SYSTEM
I would NEVER RECOMMEND Sunrun. We signed our agreement, July 30th 2021! As of today, May 30th 2023, we still do not have a operational system!!!! 23 months and counting with ZERO communication from them since, March 22, 2023 when I initiated another request for status. All I can say is RUN from SUNRUN!!!

Avoid Sunrun
I selected Sunrun only because of their Costco connection, I trust Costco. My experience with Sunrun has been a nightmare, in my opinion Sunrun is not trustworthy or fair and their customer service is very poor. The contract language is one sided and unfair to consumers and they send it to you electronically so you can not change or alter. They downsized my inverter from 10000 watts to 3800 without my knowledge or approval and installed. I discovered the switch and requested an explanation and partial refund as the inverter they installed was $900 cheaper. They ignored my repeated requests until I wrote a letter to Costco. Costco forced Sunrun to communicate and to refund me $900.00. Without Costco I would have been forced to litigate. Do your own research regarding Sunrun's reputation for customer service. Consumer beware......avoid Sunrun.

RUN from SUNRUN
Only gave one star because there is no "0" star option. Almost 2 years into the installation and I could not be more disappointed. This is the worst company you will ever deal with. I have 50% of the panels installed and a huge trench running across my yard. No one gives a rats a$$ what happens to this project. I hear don't be disappointed now, wait when its installed it will produce disappointing amount of energy savings to really disappoint you! Stay as far away as you can and if you see them, RUN from Sunrun!!!

Horrible Service
Just had my Solar Panels installed but they made me turn on the equipment via video. Then it only worked for 48hrs. No one called or came out to check if it was working. I figured out it wasn’t working when I didn’t see any reading on the app. Then customer service guided me on a restart and O had to continually tell the person it still wasn’t working. Then I finally received a call from a tech that someone would be out in 2 1/2 weeks! Unacceptable! I’m stuck with this now and I wished I had researched them more instead of taking a family referral. Completely disappointed in a $26K+ investment!

Dishonest bait and switch
Sunrun uses dishonest and bait and switch tactics. I signed up for Sunrun with intention of proceeding with them. I learned from a friend that she received a lower quoted price and very clearly outlined warranty terms. I asked sunrun to match her offer, which I thought is a very simple and fair request, yet they refused with all kinds of excuses. Also on the phone they had told me verbally 25 years warranty, but when I later checked my agreement it was not clearly written at all. It has been disappointing and frustrating to deal with them. I am not asking for a better deal than anyone else, just the exact same deal and treatment they are giving other customers. I had to put my installation on hold because I felt deceived. I was going to recommend sunrun to my neighbors but now I don’t think so.

Predators
Just look at this predatory text. Disgusting! Hello Dean. My name is Audrey, I'm overseeing energy audits for North Park. I'm contacting you via your housing information as there are currently renters at the assigned property. The structure at xxxxx is under my territory to confirm qualifications. The following information is required: •Confirmation of home ownership •Confirmation of meter number and energy usage This is to see if the structure qualifies to be updated with structural resources and equipment. Updating the structure will allow compliance with federal and state laws: Senate Bill 100 as well as the California Renewable Energy Act. This is a fully funded program. There are no expenses for the home owner. All structural updates will be covered by the program if qualifications meet standards. To send confirmation of energy usage for the structure at xxxxxx. Send current usage (this is found online at sdge.com ) in PDF form to audrey.schuster@sunrun.com If you have other structures in the area, it would save time to send the information for other san diego structures as well. Currently, this program also offers rewards. For every structure that becomes compliant with the energy laws, the referring party will receive a $500 cash bonus. Since you do not live there but own it. I would list you as a referral. As well as any other structures you may have. I hope our work on this project together will be quick and with very little disruption, and we are able to update all structures for compliance. If you would like to meet in person, like more information or have any questions, please contact me at 619.674.3274 Audrey.schuster@sunrun.com Have an enjoyable evening. ~Audrey

Paid too much because of system failure.
I noticed that Nevada Power sent me a bill way too much for what I usually pay for that month. I reached out to Sunrun and informed them that there must be something wrong with the system. It took a while for them to send a tech. The tech showed up after 2 months but he did not diagnose the problem. He just reset it and told me that it will be ok. It is not ok so I called them again after a month. They send a tech who finally told me that there is a broken sensor that is why the system is not working properly. The tech told me that it will take about 2 to 4 weeks before they can replace the bad sensor. I already paid more than 1,100 dollars to Nevada Power before they can fix the problem. The case manager sent me an email that they will credit my account with $525 in 5 to 7 working days but it never happened.

wish it was reliable
Had these solar panels installed at the end of 2017. When they work they are fine. The problem is mine go down at least once a year. This time the inverter has broken again for the second time and they have to order a new one. It has been over a month and I haven't heard anything about when they expect it to arrive. If mine has broken twice, I can't be the only one so it seems they should have plenty of spares on hand or they should have some other configuration so this doesn't keep happening

Worst Company ever
Bought a new house and Solar panels installed by Sunrun last year Nov’2022. But, the panels are not activated yet. Called Sunrun several times and every time they say, application has been submitted to PG&E to get the permit to activate the panels. But, didn’t get the permit as of today. Couple months later I directly called PG&E to enquire the status of my solar application and found that Sunrun has not uploaded the required documents along with the application so, PG&E is keep rejecting the application every time. But, every month I call Sunrun they always say there is nothing pending at their end and blaming PG&E that they are taking longer time to approve the application. I’LL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYBODY. STAY AWAY!

Poor customer service, poor workmanship
Due to poor installation on a tile roof, several tiles were broken during the installation. These tiles reside underneath the solar panels. Years later these tiles separated and the roof leaked, causing the ceilings to collapse inside the residence. I have been trying to get the roof repaired since January of this year and to date have had no luck with Sunrun. No agent from the company has ever personally contacted me through my many requests. To date the roof has not been repaired and in Arizona in another month we will be in the summer monsoons. I would not recommend this company due to their poor customer service and apparently lack of concern for roof covering integrity during and after installation.
