Shady Solar
I worked there. The employees were great, but the owners were shady as they come. One of the owners started a new company called Sunny Energy Rx, where they aim to service all the systems they profited and then walked away from. The below quote is from their new website. "Like most homeowners with solar, you probably spent $30,000 to $50,000 or maybe more on your investment in clean solar energy. Your solar investment deserves our expert care, especially when your original installer is no longer available. Don't take our word for it. Our work and your results will speak volumes for us." I agree. Do not take their word for it... It's sad, yet hilarious to me that they are advertising to the very customers who they screwed over. Some customers may have spent that amount of money yet never received their solar installation. Countless other customers were left with incomplete or non-commissioned systems. They reference solar installers who are no longer in business, when THEY ARE THAT COMPANY! Wild, to say the least.

I’m having batteries installed by Sunny Energy their engineer missed how many breakers I have so my project came to a stop. I have been trying to call the office and leaving messages with no returned call in over 2 weeks I did get two calls saying first they would be here on the 7 of August and then received a call saying they moved up the date and both dates they were a no show. I also had problems with them during designing of the system also not returning any calls Melanie Live from Sunny energy finally call me back and said to contact her in the future and yet I’m at the same problem, they are now costing me $500.00 a month in my electric bill as my solar is turned off. The installers have been great but also do not return my calls. If this is the best that Sunny Energy is then I want their equipment off my property as they are a horrible company to deal with. To this date 4 months later I’m still having problems due to poor workmanship breaker box will not close completely as the panel inside is bulging they also took a 220 breaker and put it on single pole breakers. I am happy with the batteries that they installed except they sales person lied about them saying they only take a hour to charge

Shameful
This company is the worst to get in contact with . I purchase a home with their Solar System. I emailed them a copy of new deed and owner info . We are trying to get the system online and on our phones. THEY WILL NOT RETURN CALLS OR ANSWER ANY EMAILS . THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES. WE KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THE SYSTEM . WE CANT GET INFO. ALSO THEY FILED CHAPTER 11 BANKRUPCY

Honestly
I have a very negative review of this company (Sunny Energy), due to the fact that after installing my solar system in which was done seamlessly without any hiccups, there was a $8,000.00 built into my loan for purchasing a Generator. I have tried to contact the company and the contractor to resolve this issue without any success. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Sunny Energy in Chaper 11 Bankruptcy
Over the past 2 months Sunny has abandoned our project. We have panels on the roof & Q-cell batteries in the garage. But nothing working. I was planning on hiring a lawyer to sue Sunny, in the process, I see they have recently filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy. STAY AWAY FROM SUNNY ENERGY!!!

STAY AWAY
Mr. Rodgers (the rep that came to our home) from Modern City Solar along with Sunny Energy LLC (I have come to find out is a sub dealer) installed a system on my home in 2017. Mr. Rodgers from Modern city convinced us to go with their Sunrun option. Our system since then has not covered our energy cost as promised. The system was underbuilt by a lot. We had a solar technician friend look at the system and he let us know that it was severely underbuilt. WE ARE STUCK WITH A LEASE WITH A 2.9 rate increase and come to find out we were overcharged for it as well. We are paying $92.31 a month on top of us $179.97. Giving us an effective monthly payment of $272.28 a month. WITH THAT 2.9 ESCALATOR!! After running the numbers, I would've had an average of around $176 without solar!! Had multiple solar reps verify where we would've been. STAY AWAY FROM THIS GROUP AND THEIR PARTNERS. Will be reporting all 3 to the BBB

Worst company ! Horrible start to finish
What could & should have been a great addition to home has been nothing but a complete & utter nightmare. From the beginning this is the worst company- don't let the selling factor of we install & manage it fool you. I regret nothing more than going with sunny & if I could redo I would 100x. This is the most unorganized, chaotic & unprofessional group of people I have ever dealt with. The ONLY saving grace was the salesperson Jason...but even he can do so much with helping at his level. Worse part...I thought bringing my issues and concerns to the owner would make a difference & I guess not bc nothing but crickets from him too. When the salesperson is embarrassed about the way his own company has handled things...that says a lot. To sunny you are not a valued customer like they sell it. Once they get your signature you are just another check & number to them. No value at all. Personally the entire office-- Taylor and Melanie should be fired. They have no idea what they are doing.

This process for us have been riddled with problems. First problem, we were told that if you sell your house you can take the panels with you...some truth but not all true. What they fail to tell you is that to relocate the panels you will be required to replace your roof and the cost is approximately $10,000. Also the tax credit is not a full tax credit for the first year of filing, a big portion is held over for the next tax year. They give you a 12 month interest free loan for the portion supposedly paid by a federal tax credit but in our case we only got $9000 of the $15,000 so guess what we have to pay the other $6000. All I'm saying is don't believe the hype. I suggest you wait a few more years. Also, they lead you to believe that adding the p panels to your house will increase the value, I can tell you for right now that is also untrue. Appraisers are saying there is just not enough data to allow for an increase in property value.
