We have been pleased with every step of our solar planning and installation. Chuck was patient in answering all my questions and the electricians and installers were ALL professional and helpful. The finished product was well done with an eye for the best install. They are a wonderful group to work with and very knowledgeable. I honestly have nothing I could wish improved.

I had a few questions as I first got my Sun Dog Solar waterer going. Marvin and Carl were easy to talk to and walk me through trouble shooting to make sure everything was running perfectly. Sundog Solar installed our solar array in March of 2018. We couldn't be happier! After a year of use, we generated nearly 100% of our electricity needs, which was within 50 kWh of what Sundog estimated we'd generate. Sundog was easy to work with and did a great job on the installation. We highly recommend going solar and working with Sundog.

We are 95% complete with our solar installation with Sundog Solar. Deciding to go forward with a home solar system here in Maine can be a daunting experience, but the teams at Sundog Solar made this a fairly easy task. They helped us through all phases and we worked with them to get the best system for our home. Since our roof does not face south, we opted for a ground based array. After sizing the system to provide for our current average monthly needs, we increased the capacity slightly since we will be retiring within the next 10 years and will be spending more time at home which tends to increase electricity usage. The management team at Sundog worked hard for us and found us a very low interest loan that makes the monthly payment the same as our current electric bill. So instead of paying the electric company, we will be paying off the loan. Because of this, there is no extra monthly cost for the system. We are waiting for the final hookup with our power company since this is a net meter installation and then we'll start enjoying the benefits of solar.

Chuck Piper and his employees did a very good job at presenting our options and were professional about the installation. My only negative comment was their not discussing the placement of a large electric meter on the side of our house. Otherwise, they were great at smoothing over some logistical obstacles we had during the project and were easy and pleasant to work with.

Sundog Solar did an excellent job installing our system on time and on budget . Weather was not very cooperative and an overhead line from garage to house was a challenge that they solved in a very satisfactory manner . Started generating power the last week of December 2017, and is increasing every month ! Starting in May 2018, we began generating excess power to be banked for next year !!! Thanks to all at Sundog _- GREAT JOB !!!

I was looking into a group purchase from another company to reduce the cost of a residential solar array install and even though they had reached the highest level of participation the price still seemed high and the company was disorganized as my price quote kept changing. I contacted Sundog Solar for an estimate and they not only met the group buy discount I had been quoted but exceeded it substantially. They also suggested a US made product that was substantially more efficient and much more attractive than the standard panels. Although these are a bit more expensive, they are so much less obtrusive and produce more energy. I have 21 panels and nobody even notices them because they are all black. Sundog Solar was extremely responsive to every request, question, or scheduling issue I had and have been a real pleasure to work with. If you are considering installing solar panels anywhere in Maine, defiantly give these guys a call. They are first rate and offer extremely competitive pricing and excellent follow up care..

From the initial survey through construction to an operational system Sundog provided professional service. Construction was tidy and neat and technicians were very helpful. I am very happy with my system.

So the installers and electricians were awesome, however the sales man seemed a bit uninformed and quoted us a price, then after paying the initial payment forgot to add hardware to the quote which added a SIGNIFICANT amount more to the actual price. Seemed a bit unprofessional, that being said the final product seems good so far.

I moved to an area where being connected to the power grid turned out not to be an option and we turned to a solar with 9 panels, an inverter and power controller. I had some real doubts and the weather has not been helpful with nearly a month of cloudy days in April. Having said all that we have had enough power every day with no back up generator running a several loads of laundry a 230 Volt well pump and a large refrigerator plus all the lights and normal things in a small house for two people. Couple days were close when the sun hadn't been out for almost a week but we remained up an running throughout. I'd give a higher score but I have only lived with the system for a month although it has been up during construction of the house for 4 months. Everything the company said has been true so far and the work was done on time at the price as was quoted.

We had Sundog Solar install a solar hot water system, a heatpump and a photovoltaic array for our house and workshops. It has been a pleasure to work with Danny and Chuck Piper. They are straight ahead and fair about pricing, their work is first rate. We also enjoyed the crew they sent and appreciated their careful followthrough. We have recommended them many times and will always do so.

I had two companies provide me with quotes to make my house solar. Sundog sent a very highly qualified sales person to assess my situation. She provided me comprehensive information concerning my situation, alternatives that I might consider, and quotes on each option. Her knowledge was extensive. I choose Sundog because this sales person was so talented. Their team scheduled an install and they were timely and professional in their work. There have been some minor issues, none of which was their fault, which they took care of in a timely manner at no costs to me. Replacing an inverter though may not be a minor issue! Still they took care of it. One panel even had a squirrel living under it and had eaten some of the wires. Sundog replaced the panel, then returned to put in the original panel they had fixed. Talk about customer service! This is a small Maine company located an hour from me. I salute their success, but as a customer I salute their commitment to their customers! I considered solar because I needed to replace my aging oil boiler. My electric consumption is low. I already had a heat pump. When I realized I could provide all the electricity I use and heat my house with it at the same price as replacing an oil boiler, I was sold. No maintenance, no cost for fuel, no hassles. In my case the unit paid for itself immediately. Now with no energy bills or maintenance I am banking the profits.

What I liked about the salesman, Chuck Piper, was he educated me, work for me, and was a professional all the way! He gave me what I needed to understand what it was I was getting into and worked with me all the way. The crew was on time, professional, and was in and out in two and a half work days. Couldn't have gone smoother.

Chuck Piper and his son Danny and the whole crew did an excellent job. They were responsive and creative in making our system work well and meeting our wishes. We had them install 22 PV panels with mirco inverters in 2015. We just added another 12 panels to our system and Sundog did a great job again.

We are new to Maine and decided to add solar panels and heat pumps. After researching our options and receiving proposals from several solar installers, we decided on Sundog Solar. Simple reason for our choice was Danny Piper, the owner. The systems have been installed now for a two months and everything is performing as promised. The SunDog folks installed 2 heat pumps for us in ONE day, WOW !! They were right on time and stayed late to finish all in one day. Wonderful teamwork, each person knew their job and it all came together on time. efficient, very neat even took off their shoes in the house and vacuumed before they left. Everything works perfectly, and they were very patient to answer my thousand questions !! And their final price was actually less than they quoted !!
