Your Roof has Southern Exposure Solar panels produce the most energy when they have constant, consistent exposure to the sun, and facing south will give them just that. If your roof has a large southern-facing expanse, it is ideal for solar production. You Roof is Shade-Free Again, the key to solar production is exposure to the sun. If your property has large trees near your house that shade your rooftop, solar panels would not be able to produce enough energy to make them worthwhile. If your roof is not shaded during the day, solar panels would be a great option.

System works as promised
We had a ground based system installed a few months ago. Our electric bill is $9.62 - the basic charge from Black HIlls. I am pleased with the system overall. Both Matt and Rachel were great! The negative was the landscaping crew's work to repair our yard. I had to stop them 1/2 way through, redo all of the work and finish it myself. Steel City Solar did supply the rock and fabric but I was promised I would be 100% satisfied with the job.
