From beginning to end, i found SS Solar a great way to go. I really trusted that i was not being pushed to get any thing i didn’t want. They communicated clearly, were patient with ALL my questions (I ask a LOT), and i got a great feeling from the crew that they functioned like they cared about each other and their customer, ME!

Ground mount of 36 panel Washington made system with e gauge monitor. Been watching daily through the winter months and we are producing about 1/2 of our power needs, and the best is just beginning! Highly recommend the e gauge monitor (extra 600$) can watch daily production on I pad, see where your use is greatest and what kinds of days are best. Can break out stats from 10 minute intervals up to monthly,yearly. It has really made us aware of what and when we use the most (Water heater ). Totally satisfied with all aspects of South Sound Solar, before,during and after instal. Looking forward to great production this Summer.

the plans with South Sound Solar were very good. We made changes and they were very receptive. The overall process was painless. we enjoyed the experience of a new solar system. theory was explained as the system was installed. No questions went unanswered. If we had a complaint it would have been that the communication doorway was not as clear as it could have been. If we were working during this process, things would not have been completed so fast. But since we had 6 weeks vacation we were always available when South Sound Solar had time to work us in their schedule. Still we are pleased with our system and wouldn't have had any other company install this system. All the employees were kind, cleaned their mess up after they cut into sheet rock to install panels. It was a relaxing purchase with South Sound Solar. It wasn't like buying a car hoping that you don't get that salesman that wants to simply rip you off and make a quick buck in the process. we would do it all over again and still hire South Sound Solar to do the install due to the great experience with all the people.

We received a bid for Solar panel installation following an installation of panels on properties of our neighbors, and of close friends. SS Solar's communication, assessment, bid and follow up was highly professional. Our home didn't have an ideal location for panels. I would highly recommend South Sound Solar for assessing your Solar electric generation needs.

These folks installed a 3 kW array for me about a year ago, and I have only positive things to say about their service and professionalism. Quality install, great follow-up from cleaning to online monitoring, and wonderful folks to boot!

From the planning to design to install, every member of the South Sound Solar team was courteous, knowledgeable, and fastidious with the system that was installed at my home. It has been online for about 5 months and works outstanding! Saving $$ already!

I had been thinking about solar power for several years when an inheritance suddenly made it a possibility. I always try to "buy local" whenever possible so when I found out about Kirk Haffner and South Sound Solar, my decision was easy. There was a small delay between the initial order and the actual installation due to a backlog at Itek from increasing demand but Kirk's employees kept me informed of the order status on a regular basis. Once all the parts were available, South Sound Solar's crew arrived and quickly installed the racks, the microinverters and wiring. The next day they installed the 12 panels. After the inspector signed off on the job and the production meter was installed I could see that I was now an energy producer, not just a consumer. Soon, solar power will be as common as backup generators. There are several good solar power installation companies in Washington State but South Sound Solar is probably the best one. They are knowledgeable, informative, prompt and friendly and they have very competitive prices. If I were to decide to upgrade to a battery backup system, they would be my first call.

I’ve been curious about solar panels for a while now. With the incentives and the available loan programs I decided to bite the bullet and get them. I had 36 of the Itek 260w panels installed, for a total of 9360 Watts along with Blue Frog YC500. Both products are Washington made to maximize the incentives. The system is installed on two of my barns which are in the middle of a pasture which are over 300 ft. away from my house and electrical service. I sized the system to produce slightly more the electricity that I currently use. Using the monitoring tool, I see that on good days, the panels are producing up to 275 watts. So it looks like I will end up generating more electricity than estimated. I went with Kirk and South Sound Solar because he’s my neighbor and I have talked with him about Solar Energy. He seemed extremely knowledgeable and was able to answer my questions in a way that I would understand. I’m glad I went with South Sound Solar and happy with the system they installed. Everyone I dealt with where professional, knowledgeable and friendly to work with. They kept a clean and professional work site. The only problem was that the panels got backordered at the factory, and they started two weeks late. This was also around the Christmas season, and I sure that didn’t help ether. The work actually took the amount of time that they estimated. I recommend Kirk and South Sound Solar completely.

Very pleased with all aspects of the solar install that South Sound Solar did for me. Expertly knowledgeable staff was able to provide helpful info on where to obtain a loan specifically for this system, cost and payback projection for several different system configurations as well as prompt and time sensitive responses to my questions. I am very happy with the results of the installation and it is functioning as expected! I have no hesitation to recommend South Sound Solar!

It was fun and easy to follow the information given in the informational presentations; better by far than any other attempt I made to gather information. The process of site evaluation and bids was at a pace that suited me well. Then after making the decision to go forward and have the installation followed by the neighborhood open house was amazingly exciting.

South Sound Solar provided excellent service from the beginning of the process. We liked the informational class they offer to explain how solar works and how it might work best for us. Their salesman that came out to our house was informative and thorough. Solar install went very well. We had a bit of a problem with our local energy provider but that was not solely the fault of S. S. S. Overall, we are very pleased and love seeing the meter turning knowing that we are creating green energy!

Kirk came up with an innovative plan for our installation. When we had trouble finding a good site on our property, Kirk suggested rebuilding our chicken run with a solar roof. It is perfect!. The site has the best exposure on our property and the chickens are dry and happy. The crew was great as well. They helped tear down the old run and even helped move the coop to keep the birds out of the way. They were experienced and knowledgeable. The installation went smoothly. South Sound Solar also had suggestions for banks for financing.

It's only been a couple months. The process was very easy from financing thru install. whether it pays for itself? jury is still out. I missed summer, but results seem optimistic so far. I didn't bother to learn about the software downloads etc that are available. I don't really understand how the little people get in my TV either, as a reference to my interest level. No involvement by me is fine. South Sound solar was very easy to work with and professional. Overall the process was very pleasant and I'm pleased with the results. I would do it again.

Owner Kirk is the main man driving his team who is equally dedicated to precision customized work and services tailor to our individual needs. Highly recommended.

These guys have become like members of our family, since we started considering Solar. They gave us information, not pressure. When we decided to go ahead with the installation, they were on time, and efficient. They respected our property, and didn't leave a post-construction mess. The installation has worked even better than they predicted that it would. Five suns isn't enough. Not only would I recommend these guys to anyone considering solar, I have attended trade shows and stood in their booth, telling potential customers about my positive experience. These guys are the best, and if a solar installation isn't right for you and your property, they will tell you. They won't sell you something that won't work. Hands down, the most ethical business that I have ever dealt with.

I have a ton of trees, and was told by another company that solar would work great and wanted to sell me a huge system. South Sound Solar came out to my home, and were very honest with me. I don't have a good site, and they won't sell me a system. They saved me from making a really bad investment, even though it cost them the sale. That honesty was a great experience, and I recommend them to anyone considering solar.

Looking forward to expanding my energy retrofits with the company in the future.

Great experience from start to finish

The job had its difficulties. Mobile home scissors truss roof, and very little room for components after original tank was removed. SouthSound responded to the challenges admirably.

Great to work with. We expect to add additional PV panels next year, and will certainly use South Sound Solar for that installation.

Kirk did so much to help us get solar in the right way. We have a lot of shade in our yard so he made a great design to make it work great. It is fun to have the solar hot water and see how hot the water gets on these sunny days.

Kirk is a pro and very capable of designing systems to fit existing homes. I chose Kirk because he is local and his previous installs were impressive. If anyone wants solar systems installed in Thurston County, then South Sound Solar is THE company.

Kirk was very good about answering all and any questions and he provided a lot of information about our solar hot water system. He also agreed to wire our house for future photo volteic panels so that we can create electricity. He gave us dates for installation and kept to that schedule. I would gladly recommend him for future jobs.

After a long home construction process Kirk came in a installed my solar system in such a professional manner. He was right on with his estimate. He was willing to do all the little extra things that made this go smooth. He still checks back in with us to see if there are any issues (we have had none).
