We chose SolarTech about five years ago, and initially, our experience was excellent. Their local presence and expertise gave us confidence, and we trusted their recommendations when designing our system. Based on their guidance, we installed a Generac battery system. Unfortunately, we began experiencing issues with the battery shortly after installation. While SolarTech was somewhat responsive early on, we were later told they do not handle the batteries—despite originally recommending the system and presenting it as a seamless, supported solution. Over the past three years, we have made numerous attempts to resolve this situation through calls and emails. At this point, we are simply trying to replace the underperforming Generac system, but progress has been very limited. Specifically: * We were informed that Generac systems did not meet expectations and are no longer offered. * We have repeatedly requested a conversation with Mike, the owner/manager, to discuss options. Each time, we are told the request will be escalated, but we have not received a response since our original request over two years ago. * We have asked the sales team for a quote to replace the battery system and have provided all requested documentation, including our electric bills, but have yet to receive clear follow-up or next steps. * Yesterday we had challenges with the system and the receptionist shared that our Generac warranty with them just expired so we now have to call Generac directly. We can’t help but think that SolarTech’s lack of response over the past years is because they were waiting out for our warranty with them to end. I sure hope that isn’t the reason. In the meantime, we continue paying for our solar system while also facing electric bills of around $200/month, which is not what we expected when making this investment. We understand that products and partnerships can evolve, but we do expect accountability and communication—especially when a system was installed based on a company’s recommendation. At this point, we are looking for a clear path forward and a resolution to this ongoing issue. If anyone has recommendations would love the help!
