One Year Later and Still Delighted!

We purchased a solar panel system for our home last spring from SolarGaines. Their sales people were knowledgeable and helpful, their project managers supportive and their installation staff extremely efficient. In the year since, my total electric bill has been $3.11. This is by far the coolest project I've ever done, and am grateful to SolarGaines for making it happen.

Great Solar Installers!

I had a 5.22kW system installed by SolarGaines in December of 2013 and couldn't be happier with the experience of installing the system with SolarGaines and the production of my panels since installation. The sales process was extremely smooth, I work long hours and the team was able to do most of the process via e-mail. SolarGaines also sent a team out to my home and was able to measure dimension, determine the suitability of my home and send me a proposal extremely quickly. The SolarGaines team was able to provide me with several options at different price points depending on my goals for the system. Their prices were very competitive and made economic sense for our installation. Once we had signed our contract, the team was extremely quick to get materials ordered and installed at our home. The whole process from contract signing to completed installation was ~3 weeks. We were also under a time crunch to get the system installed before January 1 so I could claim the Federal Tax Credit for 2013. SolarGaines made this happen even around the Christmas holidays. The Company helped to work with our HOA to gain approval of the panels and placement of the inverter. The actual days of the install we barely knew they were at the home, they worked quickly and efficiently. SolarGaines also handled all of the paperwork with BG&E, setting up an interconnection agreement with the utility and ensuring we were on 'net metering' before the system went live. They also put us in touch with a SREC broker to handle the sale of our SRECs (the fee is extremely nominal and worth not having to complete the sales myself). The system has performed excellent since installation. I often log onto the "myBGE" website to view our daily energy usage and am always pleased with our system's performance. We have a home office where someone is working with a computer and lights each day, which also required heating and air conditioning and even in the winter we are producing excess energy and feeding it back into the grid. Approximately 6 months after the system was installed we had an unrelated roof leak (we had a new construction home and the builder did not attach a flushing correctly, nothing to do with the solar panels). The panels were, however, blocking the builder from completing repairs. SolarGaines sent a crew out and charged a very nomial fee to remove and then reattach the panels for the builder to be able to complete repairs, and they were also able to meet the builders tight windows for which I was extremely thankful. If you're looking to do a PV solar system definitely give these guys a call!

Other than having the project completed when estimated, we were quite pleased with the result. Rain and weather made this a 9 day event instead of the estimated 3 days. The crew did an excellent job installing the panels and we have been pleased with the results so far.

Solar Gaines solar program

Hi Colan, I have had my solar system for all most 2 years now , and thought this would be a excellent time to give my feedback on the process from beginning to end. I found out about Solar Gaines from a sun paper add , after making contact with you we met promptly to discuss solar,I had requested several previous solar customer contacts to discuss their systems and to my delight they were all very satisfied. I had several different solar plans and price packages to choose from , all with energy savings projections so I could determine real cost effectiveness. The presentation also provided excellent financing options along with the federal and state tax incentives and the SREC program. The time line from contract signing to installation beginning was precise and the installation was seamless, with Solar Gaines handling of all permits and inspections. The final electrical inspection went without a single hitch. When the installation was complete I was completely happy with all details of installation,including clean up and the integrity of the crew that was on premises. The SREC program that was offered to us has been seamless both in communication and in payment projections and deposits thanks to Fred Ugast. I also love the home monitoring system ,that at any time I can go online an check my actual production as well as my historical. This program that Solar Gaines has provided has been excellent. The system pays for itself when you factor in the tax credits, financing program ,energy savings, and SREC money's with the pay out options, and best of all, I own it ,in a few years to come it will be paying me and no longer for itself. Solar Panel Installation

My solar panel installation was just completed about 4 weeks ago and I am very pleased with the results and the workmanship during installation. The sales representative (Jim) was outstanding and was very informed about the product and installation details. The install crew (Matt and Lee) were exceptional and completed the install in very unfavorable weather conditions. Overall, this company receives highest ratings for product quality and installation proficiency.

Excellent Company/Excellent Solar System

After getting 3 estimates for Solar Systems my wife and I picked Solar Gaines. We compared each companies systems to one another and we got a better system for less money than the other 2 companies. Their sales rep Colin explained everything from start to finish. Their installers did an outstanding job. Our house is 100% electric so going Solar was the best decision and investment we've ever made. Excellent service and value!

If I could, I would give these folks a rating of SIX, out of five! When they installed my system, they did an outstanding job and, in fact, they placed my older system in proper working order,without extra charges. Starting with their initial consultation, and until they completed my installation, they provided the best service possible. I would more than happy to recommend Solar Gaines to my friends, family, or anyone who appreciates a company that truly cares about their clients, and takes great pride in their work. Strongly recommend

I work for a contractor so I have experience working with many different companies in the construction industry. Its hard to find a company that runs smooth from sales to installation and everything in-between. SolarGaines does. I had a great experience throughout the entire process with SolarGaines and would strongly recommend them. Everything was explained thoroughly on how the solar PV system works and what my expected return would be. They then got me financing that fit my particular needs which made it all possible. After the sale was complete they sent me an awesome welcome letter that explained what to expect from scheduling through to completion. If I had any questions they would get back to me promptly with the answer. The system is now complete and works/looks great!

How to Become a Solar Power Baron

I've always had an interest in going solar (my wife, not so much), but previous homes were surrounded by trees. Our current home presented an opportunity so we reached out to a few solar system providers. We ended up going with SolarGaines because of the price and the sales approach. We felt 0 pressure from Colin to buy. He simply presented the numbers. Construction took under a week and the project manager took extra steps to make sure the panels and conduit were aesthetically pleasing. If you have to come home to a solar array on your home that is a big issue. What we discovered was that after a few weeks we barely pay attention to the panels. After over a year with our system I am happy to report our system produces over initial estimates. Our ability to monitor daily production online not only tells us how our system is performing, but will also tell us if we have a problem with any individual panel. So far we have no problems. In a nutshell, SolarGaines made us feel like we hade their undivided attention, they delivered what they promised, and they checked in with us after installation was complete. If those things are important to others, look no further.

Solar installation

I started with the Big Box store partners and realized that speaking with a sales person 3K miles away and a subcontractor kind of in may area wasn't the way to go. Too cookie cutter. I then went regional and felt Solargaines asked the right questions and catered to my needs the way I would if I were them. They recommended and described the system we agreed fit my requirements in detail, remarked regarding the various incentives from the Fed and State Govs. Detailed what I believe was the best combination of panels and inverters on the market within the targeted price. The Solar Gaines team followed through to completion, initiated all the various permits applications to solar credits , power company connections , bla bla bla.... all of them, kept me up to date until completed. Even returned to move and reroute conduit that didn't meet my absolute satisfaction , but could have been OK with other customers. Anyway Good people (Colin, Mike, Sara) and the rest of the team. Solid company. Would or will use them again if I get another property.
