Good Experience

This company was head and shoulder above Solar City. Their install is visually appealing and they offer a variety of products that work well if you want your solar panels to work for the long term. They have minor hiccups in communication between themselves, but they were timely and motivated to complete the solar installation in a timely manner.

Sunworks previously Solcius solar

Fraudulent crooks that are fly by night businesses and after they make money of honesty working folks they file for bankrupt to get out of their responsibilities. THIS NEED TO BE LOOKED AT BY federal trade commission and consumer protection law.

Warranty Work NIGHTMARE

Company was great to work with 9 years ago. My system went down, it took forever to get someone out to diagnose the problem. They thought they fixed it, next morning the system was down again. I reached out to tell SunWorks and was told they are working on it. Did not hear from them until Kimbra says my warranty is voided and i have to call SMA. I call SMA and they said the code that my inverter was throwing, is a very serious code that means "electric shock can result in death". I then sent a email to Kimbra explaining what SMA told us, finally she sent someone out BUT AFTER THE FACT I CALLED HER MANAGER. I have a 25 year warranty and my inverter went out they ordered a new one, but now I cannot get a soul to contact me for an install date. I have called, I have emailed with no response. Kimbra likes to send emails to tell you that your warranty is voided and all the charges that you WILL pay and demand you play her little wording game, but she will NOT respond back. I have asked for an update and how long it takes for the inverter to arrive at the warehouse. My solar has been down since April, it is the end of May and I have not heard ANYTHING from SunWorks. Glad I am loosing money daily.

About Ready to Take Legal Action

This system has been a nightmare, admittedly under-designed and incorrectly installed by their own personnel. Yet, they'd like me to pay for further work on an hourly basis. If I pay $40k for an 8kw system, I don't expect to have to manage solar energy generation by throwing a tarp over a part of the array, while running space heaters outside and all the electrical devices in my house to prevent generation of TOO MUCH energy for the battery to handle, then turning off my well, hot water heater, and plugging my refrigerator into a gas powered generator to eliminate spikes of energy being drawn from the battery which also shuts it down. And....my true up bill was $8k, plus the thousands I have already paid this year. Seriously - what a mess and waste of money. If I don't get some answers and the system performance promised, I'll see those assholes in court.

Warranty work is a nightmare.

Seems like one phone call should get them out to my home to fix my system which has a 25 year warranty on the whole system. Their voice mail says it may take up to 48 hours to receive a call back my last two phone calls were 4 days ago and over two days ago and no call back..My system has been broke since November 7, 2021 and today is December 1, 2021. The bank I financed the loan through sold the loan off so there’s no recourse there either. What’s warranty work gonna be like 10 years from now when they have thousands of more systems their supposed to be responsible for. This is the fourth time we had to get the system fixed in five and a half years.

Do your homework prior to purchasing from Sunworks

I have purchased my system and sold 60 panels that would not even cover my PGE bill. They assured me they will monitor the system. I learned they don’t. Their inverter stopped working and no sense of ownership. I made a big mistake purchasing my system through this company.

Top Notch Solar Company

Sunworks installed solar on my house. From start to finish, this company took care of me every step of the way. The quality of their products, the quality of their installs, and their 25 year bumper to bumper warranty are the best in the area. I would recommend them to all my family and friends.
