Solar SME - DUPE

Great experience and results!

Thanks so much to everyone at SolarSME; especially Mario Azar, who provided a great experience from the start of the project to the very end! I recommend SolarSME for anyone interested in solar but unsure how to get started. I think you will find you get great value, great personalization, and great communication from start to finish.

Pleased with my solar panels and experience

Solar SME was the best bang for our buck. That's why we chose them. However, I am recommending them, because of the service end of the bargain. Andre Leon was my contact and was always ready to talk and explain the steps in the process and work through rectifying the minor bumps in the road that always occur with a job of this scale. The final product looks beautiful. Likely unrelated to Solar SME, but I wanted to share in case this is helpful for future buyers: The financing options are poor. Increasing the loan amount to get a better rate is not a wise decision. Pay off in one fell swoop if you can. Or find financing via a HELOC or refinance. The actual Panel Model was: 32 x Q Cells Panels [Q PEAK DUO BLK ML G10+] (400 Watts). I couldn't find it in the drop down, and needed to put something for the review to post.

Awesome job

Raza Khan was very helpful and expedient with service to meet our needs! Definitely will refer him to others

Top Notch Solar Provider

Our experience with Ruben Kian from SolarSME can be summarized as trustworthy. Ruben immediately answered every call and text message. He was honest with his responses even when he had to perform research on my request. As far as SolarSME, they kept every promise and were loyal until we obtained permission to operate from our local power company. Furthermore, their monitoring software and responsiveness are as trustworthy as working with Ruben. We are delighted with this outcome and recommend this company to anyone considering an affordable and top-notch solar provider.

Residential Solar

SolarSME was very efficient on installing the panels. They did it in one day. Very impressive! The project manager was great, very responsive with answering any queries.

Good Service, Value for Money

I would like to express my gratitude to Solar SME and specifically Raffy Sha for bringing my project to completion. Due to reasons beyond their control, my project took a long time and was more complicated due to the limited size of my roof, but Raffy and Solar SME were there throughout, making sure that the project made it through the entire approval process intact. Good service, value for money!

Large Residential Install

Ryan was professional from start to finish. We had to navigate different solar panel install configurations. Also had to make decisions regarding battery backup that had to be removed due to problems with Oncor. Once the install finally was approved by Oncor, everything happened quickly.

My project manager Areej was on top of the process and kept me updated throughout the duration of the project. She was very helpful and took care of all my project needs.

Good company to get solar system.

I did some shopping around and got asked a lot of questions. Solar SME was never pressing to get a sale. Emir answer all of my questions and made sure my project was moving along.

Solar Panel installation

Solar SME is a great company to work with. Our Rep, Ruben Kian was always available to answer questions and satisfy our needs. Would highly recommend this company!

Great experience

Emir was great to work with and he was very diligent and forthright during the design, procurement, and installation phases. All issues, however minor, were resolved quickly and completely. It was a pleasure working with Solar SME and I will recommend them highly to anyone wanting to install a solar system at their home.

Solar SME just finished the installation of our solar panels and it was a great experience. Everything was explained up front, with updates as the project progressed. Ruben Kian was our project manager and he did an excellent job of keeping everything on track. If you are thinking about going solar, I would definitely check Solar SME.

Great All Around Experience

From the project manager Raffy Sha, to Aryan in sales, the onsite Project Manager Josh, master electrician Baruc and electrician Jesus and all the crew- the experience was an excellent one. These guys did a great job with not only a timely and high quality install, but also with the contract setup and detailed design for the HOA. I had an independent contractor inspect the job and he said it was the best install he's ever seen. Highly recommend this company.

Solar panels installation by Solar SME

We had a wonderful experience with . Project manager Emir did the great work in coordination with different teams and completing the project on time before the Year end. I'm impressed and recommend Solar SME highly!!

Good experience and nice system

I liked the product and the service. I would hire them again.

Managed properly

My primary contact, Ms. Areej, was responsive and accountable at each step to make the each phase of the project was properly executed. She even went the extra mile contacting me while on vacation out of the country to make sure we got Permission To Operate before the end of year deadline. That was impressive. Her team of installers and commissioning went out of their way to keep me informed and to correct any obstacles that arose for things beyond their control.

IT WAS A GREAT EXPERIENCE FROM BEGINNING TO END. Many thanks to Johan Benz, the project manager who oversaw everything.

9.6KW system

Lots of equipment choices so they can design the system that meets your needs. It also helps when there are supply chain issues and you can substitute other equivalent hardware Your assigned a project manager who is your single source of contact throughout the post sales process. The project manager coordinates design, permitting installation and power turn on. The manager (Areej)was responsive to questions, providing general communications and status updates

Great Company Great People!

Solar SME just finished the installation of our solar panels and it was a great experience. Everything was explained up front, with updates as the project progressed. Areej Yousaf was our project manager and she did an excellent job of keeping everything on track. We were under a hard deadline to have the job completed in 2022 and this was a huge challenge due to shipping delays, trucks breaking down and inclement weather but through it all Areej, and the entire team did a great job. The installation was completed yesterday and they even had a tech out today (New Year’s Eve) Running system checks. If you are thinking about going solar, I would definitely check Solar SME.

Excellent

I worked with Emir and everything has gone great. I just got the permission to operate.

Satisfied Customer

Our solar panels were installed recently and we are happy with the result so far. Our project manager Andre provided excellent and timely communication throughout the project. The installation team was prompt, friendly and efficient. I definitely recommend Solar SME as a solar partner.

Experts? Not to Code. Avoid

I started this process in June because I wanted to ensure the tax credit. It's now December 2022 and I was told that the person helping me (Omar Diaz) was no longer with the company and they were not going to get my job done by 12/31/2022 because of "county delays". They did not realize I was following the county permitting process and the quality control review was rejected not once, not twice, but more than 3 times on both electrical and structural issues because the rep kept submitting applications with incomplete information, inaccurate information and not submitting it to code. Why was the person handling my project let go? He was incompetent. I had even messaged the supervisor more than a couple of times during the process in September and October 2022 expressing my concerns for very basic things being rejected on the application and raised my concerns about how it was going to be installed. It went ignored. They kept reassuring me that everything was fine and running smoothly. It wasn't. I even contacted the county permitting department and very simple things were missed (among bigger things) that a prudent company would not have missed. Then they tell me that they have to run my credit again because they wouldn't be able to get it done on time and rates had gone up so my previous loan wouldn't be honored. The cost? At least an additional $6k because interest rates had gone up. I got it for 0.99% but they said it would not cost me 2.49%. Not only did they keep missing the mark by having hired someone who clearly didn't know what they were doing, not supervising properly, but trying to charge me more for a project that isn't going to finish. I'm glad for the tax law changes as otherwise I would have missed on the 26% credit because of them. Not doing business with them. Read the other reviews where the installs were completely botched. May have dodged a bigger issue here. Very disappointing.

A wonderful experience

We had a wonderful experience with Solar SME for our rooftop solar installation! Ruben Kian, our project manager, kept us well-informed and worked hard to get the project finished before the end of the year. Mike Brown, our salesperson, was extremely knowledgeable and upfront about what the system could handle. The installation itself was flawless and completely hands-off. We would gladly work with Solar SME again for our next project!

Well Done System Design & Install

Emir was easy to work with, knowledgeable on the project, and quick to respond. The project was planned well with the schedule steps laid out for me to understand. The installation was quick to follow the delivery of the equipment and done quickly. I highly recommend Solar SME as a provider.

"Subject Matter Experts" My Foot

Avoid Solar SME if you expect professionals to do their jobs. My experience with Solar SME started positively in June 2022. Ray Conner was helpful in answering my questions and setting me up with an 8kW grid-tied PV roof-mounted system that would meet my energy needs. Raffy Sha has been the project manager and helped answer my questions. Initial installation went as planned in September, 3 months after signing the contract as expected. Then things went awry and the lack of professionalism of Solar SME became evident. The system failed inspection primarily because of major design flaws that were not compliant with local code. Solar SME's design engineer, Muhammad Arshad, did not do their due diligence in designing a system that was compliant with local codes, even though Solar SME has claimed to do business throughout the central Texas region. The PV meter was not included in the design, and the wire gauge sized used throughout the interior was incorrect. Raffy Sha then attempted to find an electrical crew to correct the errors. After another 3 months (so 6 months total) involving at least 3 different electrical contractors, the job is still unfinished. Now, 6 months after starting the project, I have already paid 3 utility bills and 3 loan payments on the system that is installed on my home and is inoperable. With less than 2 weeks before the 12/31/2022 deadline for the federal tax credit, I am not optimistic that I'll be able to get the tax credit this year (which was the whole reason I started this process IN JUNE) and will likely be out almost $8,000 due to Solar SME's failure to do the job I paid them $30,000 to do. Avoid my mistake in trusting Solar SME. "Subject Matter Expert" my foot.
