Watch for changes to your system after the quote

Around early 2022 I was getting quotes to add solar to our house and went with Solar Planet. I was given a quote for a 12 kW system as I was looking to produce about 100% of my previous year’s usage. The system was installed in May but due to issues with approval with the electric company, was not working until around August 2022. I questioned the production of energy for about a year and kept being reassured it was working as installed. Finally, I was informed by Solar Planet, as I questioned what a 12 kW system should produce, that I did not have a 12 kW system, but instead an 8 kW system, even though I paid the quoted price for a 12 kW system (2/3 of the system I thought I was getting). I asked that my system be corrected to the 12 kW system I had been given a quote for but was refused. I hired an attorney, and again, tried to come to an agreement but was never given anything in writing. Eventually I had to file a lawsuit in court at which time Solar Planet finally agreed to install the system for which I was originally quoted. Solar Planet did install the remaining quoted system and the lawsuit has been dropped.

I am not an easy customer to deal with. I interviewed and had several quotes when I was ready to buy. No company hit all the marks like Solar Planet did. Not only did they offer the best components but they were also priced competitively. I have no doubt that Jae and Juanc at Solar Planet will have my back if anything negative is to happen to the system. It’s been active for about 9 months and has been performing flawlessly. This business truly cares about what solar offers for the good of the earth and community more so than taking a huge profit. Beware, most solar companies are not your friend. They want to markup the services of a local installer. Solar Planet has a diverse product offering and will consult with you on what’s best for your situation. Not only am I a happy customer, but I also made a friend in the process. There is no better feeling than running your AC or charging your electric vehicle with sunshine. The economics finally make sense within the last couple years and it’s silly today to buy your power from the power company when you can cost effectively produce your own and recover/return 300% of your investment over the life of the system. I have had an amazing experience with solar energy. Jae made the process really easy and explained it all thoroughly from conception to completion. Jae has a lot of experience under his belt so safety was always a priority! He was also great pointing me in the right direction for tax credits! His entire team was respectful, courteous, timely, and knowledgeable. I recently sold my home and it sold for $70k more than appraised; I believe in part to solar energy!
