Great Experience

Many thanks to Bryan and Cortney and the whole crew for all their hard work. We had them install a ground-mount, grid-tied solar energy system with LG NeON panels and 2 x SMA 6.0 inverters.

Excellent work; very pleased with results

Brian and his team were excellent to work with. Quickly prepared an estimate, discussed with me the various options, and then professionally installed our system. We have not paid an electric bill since installing it around a year ago.

They deserve five stars

I did my homework before getting bids and had a range of size and price before I solicited bids. Solar Connexion was the only one to come in within those parameters. They communicated with me and handled all communication with AEP. It was a simple and seamless process. I have to include that their employees were informative and polite to a curious customer.

Great company, great team of conscientious workers!

Had a personal connection to this company that lead me to use them, but it was a great experience. I was wanting to install solar for a few years and talked to another group, but this was the way to go. The guys were polite (from a safe social distance during covid19) and worked efficiently even to the point of saving sod removed to connect my house and barn's electric lines, and replace it neatly over the ditch. I am happily making electricity and just paid my last electric bill! I highly recommend Solar Connexion!

Outstanding advice and craftsmanship

Solar Connexion implemented our system expediently with no problems. Bryan Walsh has put together an impressive team and an efficient process. I was very pleased that they were flexible to accommodate our requests - at least one of which was complex. Considering the many contractors I've worked with, not just solar implementation firms, I give Solar Connexion a 10 out of 10.

Update from John M

It's been over a year since Solar Connexion installed our PV system. Since it was switched we have made more power than we use. We have payed REC only $10 + tax/month for the connection fee. Thank you Solar Connexion!

Solar Connexion highest recommendation

Solar Connexion is the only solar contractor I would consider. I give them my highest recommendation.

Solar vs. Wind

Solar Connexions was an important partner in a community-based research project (wind vs. solar) conducted with Virginia Tech Engineering, the YMCA, and the Town of Blacksburg. SC brought a new, wonderful dynamic to the project and worked with the Y to establish a monitoring room so community members could learn more about renewable energy. Solar, by the way, won the "competition" hands down and has worked without a hitch since installation.

Bryan Walsh at Solar Connexion has been doing solar PV installations for a long time and knows what makes a high quality installation. He is committed to installing systems that work, that last, and that produce the maximum energy for a given project size. He has seen a lot of different vendors come and go and understands how to handle both the technical and administrative/regulatory hurdles well. Contractor actually alerted me to the availability of new sign-up period for state rebate program in time for me to sign up and get on the waiting list. This made this installation possible.

Solar Connexion was a thoroughly professional company from the first meeting to the last. They are responsive and easy to reach. The system, which I think is conplex, has run perfectly from the time it was turned on. Solar Connexion managed the entire project including building permits, inspections, coordination with the power company, etc. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

John Maben | 06/27/2012

Brian did a great job working with me and explaining the options. The Solar Connexion team solved problems and installed my rather large complex system in less than three days. They are intelligent, professional and a pleasure to work with! I already have recommended Solar Connexion to my friends.

Kent Kluth | 06/27/2012

Solar Connexion spent as much time with us as we required, answered every question, phone call, email, or text message promptly. System was installed as planned and worked perfectly from day 1 in spite of what I think is a very complex instllation. Highly recommended.

The solar panels met more than our needs and the hot water not as much as intended. However, the estimates of what we would need were made based on our experience living in a much larger, older house with heat pumps. It`s very difficult to project between such different structures, and we are totally satisfied with how it turned out. Our incentive was a tax credit. The contractor could not have been involved in that.

Mark Sechrest | 01/21/2009

Brian is thoroughly capable and knows this business as well as anyone could. I put in my first PV system in 1983 (personal residence). I built and sold the world`s first PV powered spec house in 1984 and had the first stand-alone PV powered office building in 1985. The system he installed for us is a grid connect system with battery backup. He doubled the size of the array for us after the first year. Other than monitoring the batteries there has been nothing else to do to the system. A job well done and a great comfort and pleasure to own.

Bryan Walsh, owner of S.Connextion, is a pioneer in the field of PV contracting and his expertise and enthusiasm for the technology is unparalleled in the mid-Atlantic region of the US...indeed, few have more experience in the industry than him in the entire country. His hands-on understanding of renewable energy and professionalism in business is a cornerstone to solar contracting. I highly recommend him--indeed, one would be crazy to trust the many less-experienced, less professional "contractors" whose work I`ve sadly seen in this region if Solar Connexion is available for a job. In my experience (I purchased my first installation from S.C. almost 20 years ago and I still use them exclusively) if you hire S. Connexion, your installation will be of the highest quality, properly sized, and I can`t praise their overall work highly enough.

Harry McCoy | 12/01/2008

Bryan and his team are a great asset to our community and the move towards oil independence. He has a good working knowledge of PV technology and appears to be always learning about new advances. He has been willing to get information and answer questions.

Michael Bell | 11/26/2008

Brian was very professional and knowledgable in helping me attain energy independance. He completed our off grid Pv system, followed with a solar water heater installation to my complete satisfaction. . All aspects of the project was first rate/A. I am currently in the middle of our new grid-tie project, with Bryan again as our solar contractor.

Chris Bianco | 11/26/2008

My PV installation experience with Solar Connexion was excellent, I would recommend them (Brian and Able) to anyone interested in installing a home PV system. When we decided to get serious about our system we took several months to do basic PV research educating ourselves as to the equipment, the environmental and infrastructure considerations, our power requirements, and generally becoming quasi-fluent in the technical aspects of the technology. Then we consulted with three professional PV installation companies obtaining site surveys, various proposals, and developing a sense of the individuals and companies we were interviewing. As a result we became more and more convinced that Brian and Solar Connexion were who we wanted to employ. This is due largely to Brian`s formidable technical grasp of the technology, his willingness to accommodate our custom configuration desires, and his competitive bid. We could have installed a cheaper system, a pre-packaged one-size-fits-some out of the box job, and we could have spent a whole lot more money for a system with a whole lot less capability. But we chose the outfit and the people that

Solar Connexions has continued to provide answers to my questions, check to see that I am handling the system right and came within 24 hours to replace an Outback power system that was faulty. They are outstanding. Personal commitment to environmental issues was a major reason I went as I did. The first contractor I discussed was extremely unprofessional both in suggestion components and price. Brian Walsh went beyond what was needed to make sure I understood the system and got good value for my money.

Jill Duvall | 10/31/2007

Brian Walsh, Solar Connexion, is simply the best, period. That is not only my finding, but others in the same business:his colleagues and competitors agree. But he is VERY hard to reach. Does NOT read email. Takes a month or two, yes MONTHS, to call back. Still, he is the best at this and I would call no one else. Most of these page two questions do not apply to our project.

Michelle Wilkins | 10/28/2007

The key is to put the investment in perspective as far as payback given the electricity rates of the local utility and other things you might pay tens of thousands of dollars for like a house with a bigger yard (a quality of life issue), a house with a warranty (a quality of building issue), a house that was stick built as opposed to modular (another long-term quality type investment), etc. Finally, it was pointed out to me that the expense of our PV`s rolled into our mortgage at completion of construction and therefore we borrowed the money for that improvement at a low rate with tax benefits even before the ludicrous government incentives that end this year.

Steve Gerus | 10/26/2007

Bryan is knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. I would recommend his company to anyone. We are an electrical contractor. We own the building where the PV array is installed, so we did some of the wiring. We use net metering, and after 2+ years have generated more electricity than we use.
