The worst nightmarish experience of our life
We signed with this company in July, we are now the 11 of November and our solar system stopped working yesterday after being finally fixed a week ago. We had problems from the start. The first day of install they realized their design was flawed and had to be redone and reapproved and a panel had to be added to obtain the same production we had signed for. The company wanted us to pay, after a long argument the employee who made the mistake volunteered to pay for it. Second we were asked if we wanted the pipes linking the different sets of panels on the roof or under the roof. We said under the roof. They did it on top and had to redo it. Third the pipe going from the roof to the solar box on the external wall was coming down at an angle instead of being flushed against the wall and then make an elbow to the box. They had to redo. Fourth the electrician they contracted to installed a larger electrical panel and the solar connections failed 3 inspections with the building department and the City of Colorado Springs. After that they sent another electrician contractor to finish the job. Fifth we discover that the copper ground wire was dangling in one of our window well. So they had to come back and redo it to bury it properly. Sixth we complained that the bars supporting the solar panels were not aligned and they had to come back to cut them down flush. At that time the owner was extremely rude with us contradicting himself about what he had told us previously and wanting to put the critter guards before the last inspection and the commissioning of the panels, which we refused. Seventh the commissioning did not go well some panels were not working at all. They sent the fourth foreman we have seen since the beginning of the work who told us the panels had wires cut the wrong way and some panels would need to be replaced. At this time we put our first complaint with the BBB. Two days later the boss and another employee come on our roof and fix something. The panels seemed to work. They come the following week to put the critter guard. A week later two sections of our panels stopped working and another works sporadically on perfectly cloudless skies days. And when we complained we were given the run around, telling us to be patient. At this point we have asked for mediation from the BBB as the end of the year is nearing and unless we make our last payment, which we cannot in our right mind when the system is not working, we will miss the dead line for the city rebate and our tax break. Never in our life have we had to experience such dilettante and inconsiderate, and incompetent company.

Excellent company I recommend to friends and neighbors
Rocky Mountain Solar has been a great partner and I’d gladly recommend them to any of my friends or neighbors. I am happy and would use them again. I did 3 bids with Rocky Mountain being the most responsive and willing to explain more of the basics to me from the beginning. Their price was competitive but I opted for their solution that included a slightly better solar panel that had better guaranteed capability over a few decades (it degraded much less than others over time). The work was done well, they communicated well, the workers were respectful and kept the area clean. They took care of my rebate work with the local utility and all permits. I had one main contact to work with thru the process and she was great to work with (excellent job Robin) The tool they have for me to watch my solar production is great – simple to see on my phone or a computer. I had one hiccup after the system was up, due to unique power in my older part of the city, and they were very responsive and worked quickly with me to solve the issue.

Rocky Mountain Solar came through ...
I initially wrote a bad review on Dec 12, 2018. Since then, Rocky Mountains Solar (RMS) has come through to help. After the installation was completed (in time for end of year), there was a "Bomb Cyclone" storm that left 5 of my 28 solar panels under performing (75%). They "went to bat" for me and got the panels replaced and reinstalled. Great job! Thank you RMS!

Built Great ground mount system
RMSW installed my system in 2015. They were the only company that showed any interest in installing a ground mount system. This system is on the eastern plains and has survived some pretty severe weather. During the bomb cyclone event of March 2019 the system with stood sustained winds of 70MPH and a wind gust of 86MPH at the height of the storm. Not one solar panel was damaged. I was expecting to see ( once the storm ended ) solar panels all over the place. The storm did knock out two optimizers. One call to RMSW and a knowledgeable repairman was out in a day. They had to order the optimizers which were still under warrantee and within two weeks my 28 panel system was running at full speed ahead. Thanks Lotus and Richard for your prompt courteous service.

small solar intallation
Rocky Mountain Solar and Wind installed a small 8 panel system on our roof a couple years ago. They worked well with the city utility company, answered all questions, and we're happy with our system. When there was a problem with the inverter (a manufacturer's problem, not RMSW's problem), they dealt with the manufacturer and replaced the broken part for free and swiftly. Nice local company.

Great solar system after 10 years
We are very pleased with the quality and service of Rocky Mountain Solar. We like that the system is durable and not needed any repaairs. Rocky Mountain Solar did a good job installing and later explaining to us how the system works best.

Very impressed with our Solar System
This is the second time we have worked with Rocky Mountain Solar in 18 years and both times proved to be wise decisions! Our solar system has not only met, but exceeded even RMS's expectations. Our system produces 17% more than projected. We have seen a 78% degrees in the cost of our electricity over the past 5.5 yrs. This system requires zero maintenance, we have never had an issue in all these years. As long as we sweep off the snow, this system works like a charm.

Use them !
Rocky Mountain Solar and Wind installed my roof top system in late 2015. I live in Divide, Colorado. Additionally I should note that I am a building contractor and, therefore, I know subcontractors. I am beyond satisfied with them. They did EVERYTHING they said they were going to do. This was a very tough time for my family (my wife was dying of cancer) and they were respectful and courteous. My system works perfectly. I live in a net-metering state and the utility company actually owes me money ! Use them !

My Solar Installation
Installation was efficient and trouble free. Installers were meticulous and thorough. System has been supplying all of my electrical needs including HVAC heat pump with a significant surplus. If I could afford the batteries I could probably disconnect from the grid.

very professional from sales to installation to completion. No problems. If no rebate was offered by utilities we would not have been able to afford the system. Our intent was not to `make` money or even to make system affordable. We do realize about $50.00 a month savings for electrical service. We were more concerned about `carbon footprint.`

Everyone connected with Rocky Mountain Solar was professional, knew what they were doing, showed me the roof PV design and explained the need for the number of panels and worked well with Colorado Springs utilities. In fact, Rocky Mountain Solar is the only solar company the utilities would recommend.

Federal tax credits and utilities rebates made installation of the PV system worthwhile for us. Although we had been interested for some time, based on the environmental benefits and reduced dependence on fossil fuels, cost of such a system without incentives was prohibitive. We are very pleased with the work performed and the personnel at Rocky Mountain Solar.

Installation delayed for short time due to city utilities inspections. Lotus demands high-quality installation and was there to see that quality work continued.

We are very excited about what we are doing for the environment. If you are making a strictly financial decision, this isn`t for you BUT what is truly a motivating factor is how we are helping the world. The installation was seamless and the professionals at Rocky Mountain Solar are prime examples of how all companies should deliver. Lastly, we like it so much that we are planning on building a second `off the grid` home in Winter Park where RMS will install another system for our family. Thank you so much!
