Rochester Solar Technologies is a wonderful company to work with, from the owner (Shawn Lessourd) to the amazingly efficient and responsive office staff (Christy Brown/Wolfgang), to the workmen themselves. This has been a most satisfying experience from beginning to end! Contractor charged the net amount after the NYSERTA incentive, but not after the Federal and State tax incentives. These were able to be financed by Enerbank through a program by the maker of the solar panels (Sunpower).

Everyone involved takes great pride in their work. This is includes everything from the exceptional communication from Shawn and Christy to the true craftsmanship of the installing electricians. I had to make no suggestions of what was left undone when the installation was declared done. Everyone works as a team! I believe I can trust them for any service issue that may come in the future. Labor seemed expensive for how fast the installation was but there was no "nickel and dime" routine at the end. I paid exactly what was on the contract. The level of communication I received including answering so many questions, and providing good advise does have great value. I have already recommended them to friends several times. Shawn Lessord and all of the other employees of Rochester Solar were very professional and thorough in both the planning and installation of our system. The panels and all level and flat on the roof, and the entire site was cleaned after installation. The system is producing beyond my expectations. My wife and I had spent some time learning about solar systems and finally made the big decision to get one. We were nervous about the complexity and cost of such an endeavor but Shawn Lessord made it all pretty easy. His technical and financial understanding helped us remain confident that the whole project would turn out ok. We were not disappointed. Rochester Solar demonstrated outstanding knowledge, quality, communications, professionalism, and passion for the technology, as well as tenacity (in dealing with local bureaucracy). I have had several follow-ups with Rochester Solar to discuss system monitoring. Each contact has been met with the same interest and responsiveness as the initial sales call. I was able to be there for the entire installation, which was done with care and high quality every step of the way. I know a little about what to look for, since I am an electrical engineer and consultant who did a national level study on Photovoltaics for EPRI back in the early 80`s. I can`t say enough good about Rochester Solar.

my contractor (shawn) did a great job. safety and easy usage and maintenance were important to me.issues were handeled quikly and promptly. shawn double checked the job as it was completed. we were well informed as to progress of the job. questions were quickly responded to.

IT`s been 2 months since completion and so far so good. Shawn Lessord was very helpful throughout the process. I bundled the system with a battery back up system in the event of power outages. State and federal rebates and tax credit made the solar project possible. They should be continued and enhanced if possible. Best wishes.

We found the whole process from sales, design, installation, and followup to be very professional and a real pleasure for us. We strongly recommend Rochester Solar Technologies to anyone wanting to put in a PV system. We have been interested in PV solar systems for some time, hence we had it installed. We initially paid part of the total price up front, and were reimburrsed some of the incentive. Hence, it was in between the full price and net.

Shaun Lessord is very professional and honest about the system. He dosen`t guess he knows what he is doing. He completed our system in adverse weather with out promblems.When we are ready to expand our system we are going to him first without a doubt. We are off the grid housing using a gas generater, so this sysytem has saved us in gas and maintence of our generater. We were not able to use any incentives in our state because we are off grid. The nearest electric pole is 4,042 feet away. The utility company wanted over $76,000 to put electric to us. Paid over ten years at $850.00 per month plus usage at 16.65% interest. We have telephone and they did it all for nothing just so they could expand there buisness in our area. Finding Shaun was the greatest thing with his knoweledge and can do attitude. Thank you

Very high quality work, excellent customer relations. Both the building inspector and the utility inspectors remarked about the high quality of the installation. Have had many positive comments from visitors. I primarily wanted to put in a PV system for 3 reasons: 1. to show there would be a payback even in a high cloud area like upstate New York, 2. to motivate others to put in p.v. systems since they can see that someone else has done it successfully, 3. to experiment with a p.v. system to see how the p.v. generated electricty could be used to reduce my use of natural gas for heating, as well as reducing my net use of electricity from the utility.

Mr. Lessord`s character & integrity as well as his knowledge of installation & function of his solar products are fantastic. I would highly recommend his company. Gas price increase after Hurricane Katrina led us to have solar heat system repaired (was inactive when we bought house). Cost was very reasonable and paid for itself in one heating season.

In order to bring water from an abandoned well to our garden, several hundren feet away, I wanted a solar energy source to operate a pump. Shawn Lesord reccommended the pump size and solar panel, ordered them, and set up the equipment. He frequently contacted up to make sure all was working as planned. We get plenty of water for the garden and have no need to draw from the deep well that supplies our house. We are pleased with the ideas and service we received. We know we can call on Shawn Lesord and his company for help if we need it.This excellent experience has led me to seriously consider acquiring solar energy for my household energy source in the future.

Shawn was very professional and passionate about his work and went above and beyond to solve my problems, add the extra 4 panels, and made several trips out here to make sure things were working as they should inaddition to phone calls....he is very dedicated to making solar work in NY! I`ve read Mother Earth News for years and I have been off the grid for years with a small system as I live 1200 feet from the closest utility pole. ...Shawn added panels and new batteries to upgrade my system so some of these questions do not apply to my situation. I do believe we need more matching funds grants instead of tax breaks...alot of people don`t pay taxes or pay very little such as myself as I am disabled...
