REGrid is a highly professional, knowledgeable, experienced and effective company. I asked for a system that would completely cover my electric bill. It requires a through understanding of all the system design factors in order to hit that specific target, because if the system is too big I`d be giving away free electricity and if it`s too small I`d have a bill. My first annual bill was only $10! My system was perfectly sized!

My first bill for June was $12.23 compared with $300+ bills, after the July heat wave of 11+ days of over a 100 degrees, my bill was $11.63! Am I happy or what! Nick and James

We were contacted less than 4 days after we emailed Real Goods for information with follow up brochure with prices. Shortly (5-7days later)a telephone call from a representative. He was VERY helpful and knowledgable. We had wanted another type of panel and he explained why the type we purchased is better. We feel this is the most positive act we have done for ourselves as well as our precious world. We will eventually add 5 more panels to our home and change out our water heater to on demand and buy an electric stove. We have already added an attic fan which is on a seperate single solar panel and on a automatic temperature control unit. Our home has become more self sustainable as we speak. Everyone should try it, in the long run it pays off for all.

The installation was flawless. Everything is working as promised. We were very happy with Egrid. One of our daughters is an enviromentalist by profession. She had a definite influence in our decision. Also the fact that our PG&E bills were getting out of hand.

These guys lost all of their inventory in the 2006 winter floods so we had to reset the schedule one month. However despite having their headquarters partially destroyed by the flood, they were able to quickly regroup and put in the system.

Re-Grid did a very good job and had the most economical bid from three different contractors. The final uitility inspection has not occured at the time of completing this survey.

My only complaint with REGrid was that I thought that the communication between the signing of the contract (December) and the start of installation (May) could have been better. The occasional update to let me know that things were on track would have been helpful. Otherwise, the crew who did the install were OUTSTANDING. An absolute pleasure to work with, and they did an excellent, neat and professional job. Highly recommended! Andy Black worked at REGrid at the time, and I saw his presentation at a solar energy event about a year before my system was installed. This is why I sought a bid from REGrid. I also had a bid from Akeena, and both were excellent companies. In the end, I appreciated the community outreach that REGrid had done, so I selected them.

My PV system regularly collects at slightly above the promised efficiency. Even though it is purposely underized, it still provides all my electrical power needs. As the cost of fossil fuels increases even faster than expected, the cost payback period grows ever shorter. It may be down to about 6 years now for me.

Installation was in July, 2001 -- survey form doesn`t provide for earlier dates. Recent contacts with Carlson Solar have been just as good as ever. I reported a reduction in output, and Scott promptly sent someone over to check out the problem. (It may be a bad Kyocera panel, which would be replaced under warranty.) I`ve found Carlson Solar to be the most upfront, honest, and reliable contracting company I`ve ever dealt with. No, I have no financial or social interest or connection with these guys. I`m just a very satisfied customer.

I could not be more pleased with the system. It is an on the ground installation and looks just great! Marin Solar has come by and checked that it is operating correctly on a number of occasions. Go solar!

Representative and contractors were excellent. Unfortunately, I have had problems with both invertors (Sharp) resulting in loss of aprox. 20% of output since system installed. Response to problems has been timely just getting tired of continual problems with what is supposed to be a top of the line system. I do not understand why the ecomomic benefits of solar are so poorly marketed by the industry. As a return on investment it makes great sense, but is poorly communicated in advertising.

`How well was the installation process explained to you prior to signing your contract?`: I can`t remember that there was much to explain - so maybe it was `great`. `Were references willingly provided for you to contact?`: I considered Real Goods my reference. I have a lot of respect for you. `How easy was it to get in contact with the contractor while the work was in progress?`: My husband had a few problems getting calls returned in a timely fashion, if I remember right. NOTE: Grant did not do the final delivery of materials and follow-up. That was done by Tim Robinson, if I remember right.

Really appreciated Debbie from Real Goods making sure the installer lined the panels up so they were straight on the roof - took extra time but well worth it for us and others looking at the system. She also did a great job with all the paperwork and explanations. We were very pleased with Real Goods - they made the whole process painless and `held our hands` through every step of it. We had considered doing solar a number of times but dealing with all the permits and gov. paperwork stopped us each time until we heard an ad. on tv. that Real Goods would do it all - then we signed up and they did exactly as promised. Their installation was professional and it`s something we`re proud of and happy to show off to anyone. We`d highly recommend them. We had purchased items from the Real Goods store in Hopland and had been happy with the items and so when we heard their ad. on tv. for the solar we didn`t hesitate to have them do the job even though their store is an hour from where we live. We`re happy to be references for them. Steve & Lynley McAfee, Santa Rosa, CA
