Happy in the Sunbelt
Our complete experience with Real Goods has been exemplary. From the initial contact and evaluation to installation to PG&E connection, we have been informed and satisfied. Our electric bills have gone from $200 a month to $5. Thanks to Real Goods, we feel more proactive and responsible in our energy usage.

I recommend more use of e-mail to contact the customer. Use e-mail to provide 1)date plans submitted to city for permit, 2)date city permit received, 3)final installation date, 4)any follow-ups needed. In my case the City of Banning lost the permit application, and I only discovered the problem when I followed up by phone with Carlson to ask about the start date delay. One day of my time retrieved the permits but we lost almost a month of schedule. No adverse impact. Incident illustrated that an informed Customer is an asset. Almost everyone these days has e-mail and this vehicle for communication is under-utilized. Carlson provided an almost turnkey installation including the permitting process with City of Banning, installation of equipment (on time once permits pulled), checkout, and no-charge follow-ups to help with shifting loads between Grid and Solar bus. I rate them Excellent! Would gladly recommend them again.

They did a terrific job. Everything was explained and done when it was promised and as it was promised. We`ve referred them to others who have shown and interest in solar. We saw an article about Sun Power Panels in the paper and sought out a contractor who would install them and who had experience with S tile concrete roofing. We contacted several other contractors and looked them up on the internet. One responded promptly but then moved too slowly with follow up. Marin Solar was simply great the whole way.

Solar Goods was excellent. The County refused to issue the permit until my septic system was inspected (the people we bought from had not completed that process). The Solar Goods installer oversaw and managed the entire process of the septic inspection, keeping the project on track and saving me the hassle of doing it.

I work with a number of contractors in my business, some are good, some are OK and some are not so good. Carlson`s performance puts them in the top 1% of the contractors I work with. This company from the top down is excellent.

Carlson was great to work with throughout. Very detailed estimate, able to answer technical questions. Very flexible in cosmetic details (conduit routing, etc). System is exceeding estimates already. City Inspector asked for one rail-grounding change, remedied immedately by Carlson.

Carlson Solar is a great company to work with. There was a problem with the original panels and they replaced them with no cost to me and gave me a new 25 year warranty.

Extremely knowledgeable staff, from clerical, sales, installers, and inspectors. Business building is very clean and organized. This might be the gold standard to compare other companies by. Great Company!

Carlson was recommended by my Contractor as being the most reputable firm for doing solar installations. Communication with Carlson was punctual, clear, and friendly. The installation was done professionally and there was no residual mess. I would recommend Carlson to anyone considering a solar installation. I was impressed with Carlson`s knowledge and helpfulness about the government and power company`s incentives. It was a real service to have Carlson submit all the forms on my behalf.

We were a perfect case installation. Well informed clients benefit both parties. Tar & Gravel roof install was a concern. Marin Solar dealt with all questions, complete professional job. Our main goal is to become carbon neutral and tell as many friends about solar & other ways to reduce energy from fossil fuels, as we can. Marin solar got it right!

I can`t find my documents (we just moved back in after the remodelling, and it is lost somewhere in a box) - so I am not sure about the size of the installation. Sorry about that. I think that the only shortcoming in the system is the fact that we can only get a `credit` from PG&E instead of money back in case of them buying more power from us. The fact that they claen the slate every year is rather offensive too. If you build up a surplus one year, you might still have to pay another cloudier year. I think that the home generating systems should be able to charge for their surplus.

All work was done on time and there was allways some one at there facility to answer any questions I had. I will and have refered others to REgrid.

My friend did all the research for his own installation, and based on the thorough job he did (and his close proximity to where I live), leveraged his research and gave business to Marin Solar.

Very professional operation start to finish. the install crew was far and beyond what contractors usually send to your house for a job they sell you. Roy Phillips and Marin Solar did a great job and their SunPower product is amazing. I am getting 10-20% more than I thought I would even into October skys Marin Solar is a trustworthy and classy operation
