Determining the cost for a PV system and determining the actual costs is a bit complicated due to the federal and state tax credits and the local utility credits, and also because the exact size of the system cannot be determined until after a comprehensive site survey is done (which is performed after you sign the contract). I was very pleased that the actual costs were clearly explained to me and were accurate, since the fruition of the credits don`t occur until taxes are filed for the year in which the system is installed. I was also thankful and impressed with Jonathan Lane`s integrity and honesty. He proposed a system that was smaller than what I had been approved for. Although this meant he made less money on this job, he made a very happy customer. Had he recommended the larger system, I would not have known it would not have functioned as well (and been as cost effective) as the smaller system. Jonathan takes great pride in doing an excellent job and putting in a system that is the best configuration he can design for the customer, even if it is not the most profitable. He is committed to the technology and to his customers. I am sure he sleeps very well at night because of his honesty and integrity and he understands that customers will appreciate his work and recommend him to others as I surely have done and will continue to do. Although the installation took longer than expected because of permitting delays and availability of materials, these were things that were outside of Quad State Solar`s control. Anything they committed to that was within their control they did. My system has been performing even better than Johnathan had promised it would. I am very pleased with the results.

DO NOT HIRE!!

Dishonest and untrustworthy are two word I'd use to describe Mr. Lane and his crew. Dissapeared after installing in my job and was nowhere to be found. Even hung up a few times. Horrible experience.

Took Mr Lane to court to get my money

Mr Lane took money from me failed to do his job and disappeared. I had to take him to district court, where he was ordered to return my money plus interest.

Horrible, buyer beware

System has repeatedly broken down. Jonathan Lane and Quad State Solar have been slow to respond and recently have been unresponsive. This case is going to Court

No After Sales Support

I was so excited to have Solar installed on my husband's family home in Queens in August of 2012. However, the contract said that there would be an assessment of the efficiency of the solar panels in 6 months. It is now over a year and I have no idea if they are working well or not. I have called Quad State NY, several times but they are ignoring me. The salesman I knew, no longer works there and there seems to be no further interest in us. I've emailed, called and still no response. I don't want to send in a bad review, but this is very disappointing and consumers need to know.

I`m extremely happy with the work Jonathon Lane and Quad State Solar performed for me. They were extremely helpful throughout the entire project and always kept me up to date. I highly recommend them and wouldn`t hesistate to hire them again.
