PV Squared (Pioneer Valley Photovoltaics Cooperative)

I talked to several local installation companies before choosing PV Squared. I already liked the PV2 philosophy and the people I dealt with during the engineering and proposal, and they eventually got the contract because they were able and willing to put more solar generation on our odd roof than other installers. At least one other proposal was comparable, but the other installer simply didn't seem willing to work a little harder to get the business. I suspect this is at least in part because we are a rural location that required panels in three different arrays on three different roof surfaces, which was more than others wanted to deal with. PV2 was happy to juggle multiple designs and happy to get the job done. About ten months later, the output has generally exceeded their estimates and our expectations, and they've promptly and effectively dealt with the few issues that have cropped up. I've had a few complaints about the utility company involved, and PV2 folks have patiently talked through those with me as well, even though it was not their responsibility to do so. I think that much of their success derives from the fact that they are a local co-op made up of people who care, have plenty of experience, and aren't out to simply profit off of their clients. I'd give them my business again in a heartbeat.

Having worked with PV2 as a subcontractor it was clear to me that the way they run their business would fit me as a customer very well, and it did!

We've had the panels for 3 years and the quoted Kwh they said we would get was spot on! There has been no problems with the panels. They were always quick and friendly when I had any questions during and after the installation.

I wasn't sure I wanted to put the money into solar and was fearful of the possible problems to my roof, my electrical system, on-going care issues. They listened at every step of the way, honored my concerns along the way, were objective, and never pushy. Once I decided to go for it, they made every step thereafter easy and installed the panels on time and on budget!! I would recommend them.

I hate to not seem critical, but these guys were great. They are dedicated about renewable energy, they are meticulous about the quality of their work, and they are skilled and knowledgeable about installation design and systems. I choose them because their design proposal made the most sense. I was very pleased with their work and since completion they have continued to be helpful with questions and keeping me in touch about issues that might be of importance to me. Even their sub-contracted electrician was someone who I was pleased to hired for additional electrical work in my home. Technically, they were fine. The sales contact person was a miserable communicator, which complicated every aspect of the whole process. This is something I`ve wanted to do for 25 years, so nothing influenced me: I was already QUITE under the influence :) Connecticut limits the choice of contractors, and throws SO much red tape in the way it is astonishing. Nevertheless, we`re delighted with the system and are so glad to have done it.
