We installed solar hot water as well. Our inverter suffered infant mortality and they replaced it promptly. We contemplated someday installing solar, but didn`t seriously pursue it until after talking with friends who had a hot water system installed by Puget Sound Solar. We might not have installed PV without the incentives, but would have had the hot water system installed regardless.

It would have been nice to have a follow-up visit before installation but after solar survey to explain the various systems and options.

We also had solar hot water installed. 12 tube, 40 gallon tank. We are extremely pleased with the systems and how they work. We proudly show off the systems to friends, neighbors, and relatives.

We thought we were getting a passive solar system and were a bit disappointed to learn that it uses an electric pump. But the installers were great and the job was beautifully done. We have been saving for this since we first learned about solar in the early 1970s, but wanted to fully insulate our house first, and build up enough savings.

We had a number of challenges with the City of Seattle to get the final parts in place, but that was of no fault of Puget Sound Solar.

I`d absolutely recommend Puget Sound Solar to anyone who is thinking about alternative energy upgrades. Jeremy and Co. are fantastic, knowledgeable, and thorough. I`d hire them again for my upcoming PV project. we need more incentives for lower income households. We can afford it, but not everyone else can.

Our experience with Puget Sound Solar was probably the best we have had with any contracted work on any home we have owned. The pre-installation consultation resulted in a system designed precisely for our needs at a highly competitive price and the installation was very high quality. These people have to be recognized as the most knowledgeable Solar PV business in our area--the owners Pam and Jeremy are totally committed to Solar technology as a primary occupation, their technical evaluator has a college degree related to solar energy, during the electrical inspection the government electrical inspector invited the Puget Sound Solar electrician to speak at a meeting of the local electrical organization about the technical aspects of solar PV systems, and the Puget Sound Solar panel installer has a Master`s Degree in Physics. These people are not casually involved in the solar business as an extension of some other related business. Solar PV won`t take off with the mainstream of my neighbors until solar panel efficiency increases and the payback/amortization reaches something near 7-10 years. Federal and Washington State incentives and rebates were vitally important for making this affordable for our particular residential installation. We plan to upgrade annually as solar PV technology improves.

This survey is broken. What if it doesn`t apply to me, I still only get a yes/no choice?? You need an N/A option on this second page of questions, too. Right now it looks like my contractor didn`t do some things, but I had to say no because the question didn`t apply to me.

Jeremy and Pam are very responsive to questions over the phone, and helped me through all the quirks of the system. They replaced a faulty wand heat exchanger promptly. Jeremy knows a great deal about the engineering of solar PV and solar hot water, he is incredibly resourceful. It was a great pleasure to have Puget Sound Solar do this installation!

They are absolutely wonderful. Skilled, knowledgable, committed, everything you`ve asked for. I`ve already given their name out to a dozen people and will continue to do so. And I`ll be doing PV with them as soon as the in-state panels are available later this year For solar hot water I probably would ahve gone ahead anyway without the state and federal tax breaks but it would have been harder. For the PV we`ll do later in the year they`re essential--we simply couldn`t have afforded it. We had the savings to pay directly, but for most people low income loans are critical

PSS also installed solar hot water, and did an excellent job. I am very happy with the work they did, and they were a pleasure to work with.

We needed to slightly remodel the laundry room where the hot water tank was to be installed; Puget Sound Solar worked with us to coordinate the effort so that our remodel was done just before the tank was installed - all other prep work was completed beforehand, and the system went `live` within two days. Only one issue arose with the hot water system, and it was corrected immediately at no charge (and it was partly our fault the system overheated...) They are always available via e-mail to answer the few questions I`ve had. I would recommend this contractor to anyone, and will be using them for future projects. They are fantastic! I`ve been interested in renewables since the 80s; it`s only now I`m able to afford a personal home system. Washington State did not have incentives at the time of installation; however with SB5101 there is some paperwork I need to fill out to realize additional savings that will shorten the payback period. And my neighbors love the system; they`re all fascinated by it, so I`m hoping they`ll enter the renewable realm themselves.

Availability of panels was an issue but not fault of installer. Will purchase an additional KW as panels become available and my finances will allow. Still in holding pattern with Seattle City Light for retroactive incentive payments.

Your survey doesn`t allow for more than one type of installation, but we also had solar hot water installed. We highly recommend this contractor. Jeremy did a terrific job! A year later, we continue to be very happy with our system and its benefits. We are going to add PV and solar hot water to our commercial property and a second home.
